6 months passed by. Taehyung was happy as well as jungkook.
Jimin got the company. Parker Incorporations and jeon Enterprises held a strong friendship between
them. Taking them to the
clouds...
Taehyung kept the shelter.
every day he would visit the shelter.
There was one thing missing in their life. A child.
They so badly wanted one.
But they couldn't because of taehyung's problem.
And jungkook knew that he didn't want a child if it meant putting taehyung's life in danger. Ever.
But his heart did need one.
Taehyung stormed into the door as jungkook was getting ready for his meeting in his office.
He looked at him shocked and asked:"Are you okay?" He is breathing quick and heavy like he ran from something.
He sat him on his chair behind his desk and gave him a glass of water.
Tae drank water. Jungkook asked, "What happened?"
he smiled and said, "I came here from
the shelter."
"Did you ran all the way
here?"
"Yes. I couldn't wait to ask
you something"
"What?"
He bent down on the floor,
his palm in tae's thigh. Tae tried to speak but was hyperventilating.
He smiled and said, "Breath, taehyung, Breathe." Tae laughed.
After a couple of seconds, he asked
" How do you feel about adoption? How do you feel about adopting a child?" He furrowed his brows
" What?"
"There is this 5-year-old boy.
He just came into the shelter. His name is Kim Han ji . He's a victim of child abuse. A dead father and a drug addict mother. Child services took him when the neighbors heard his scream"
"That's awful."
"I know. I met that boy today
and I swear, I looked at myself in him jungkook"
Tae took out his phone and
showed the picture of the
boy smiling . His black eyes and cute hair.
Tae said "Please."
Jungkook slightly smiled at the
boy.
But that smile disappeared and he replied "Can we talk about this at home? I have a very important meeting to attend."
"Jungkook, this conversation is
more important than some stupid meeting."
"Taehyung, can I just have some
time to think this through. Please?"
Tae nodded his head in disappointment.
He didn't come home all day.
It was 2 am in the morning and he was still not home.
Tae was worried. He wouldn't pick up his phone and no one knew where he was.
Tae waited for him all night on the stairs.
The door opened and he came in. Tired. Dark circles under his eyes. His face pales like he hasn't eaten all day.
He saw tae sitting on the stairs and tae
asked " Hungry?"
He nodded his head.
Tae warmed up the food for him as he sat on the kitchen island. An annoying silence between them.
Tae kept the plate of heated food on
the counter for him and he
started eating.
Tae filled a glass of water for himself kept that on the island too. And waited for him to finish.
He could feel him playing with his fingers and his gaze on him the entire time.
He put his fork down and
said "You don't need to stand for me to finish my food. You can talk."
He began eating and tae said, "I wanted to talk about
adoption."
"Taeh.."
"No, listen to me. I can't get pregnant. And even if I did no one is sure if I survive. you know it. Why not adopt a child? You want it and I want it. What's the problem?"
"There isn't none"
Tae went around the island
to him and held his face
and said: "Then why are you quiet?"
He rested his forehead
against his chest and
said
"I've been thinking about adopting for quite a while,"
Jungkook pushed back" But I didn't know how'd you take it. I kept quiet. I do wanna have a child with you, taehyung. Give him all the love in the world that I or you, we never got.... until we found each other. The love of a mother and father I never got and yours were taken away. Are you ready for that?"
Tae smiled and said " 100
times yes. I do want that with you, jungkook."
He smiled and said, "I guess we're adopting him then."
Tae put his hands in his mouth because he couldn't believe what he said.
Jungkook got up from the chair and
said with a smile" taehyung, we are adopting a child."
he hugged him tight and said "Thank you. I love you so much." He chuckled and said,
"I love you too."
Both of them feeling a wave of relief that they needed
The next day, they went to the
shelter.
Children running and playing with each other as the supervisors tried to control them.
Taehyung smiled and jungkook looked
at him. He followed his gaze to a little boy sitting alone and playing with play dough.
His silky auburn hair and green eyes sparkled as he made the shapes. He but his bottom lip as he was SO touched.
His dimples are so evident.
Tae looked at jungkook and he smiled at him.
They walked to the boy and sat in front of him.
He stopped playing with the dough and his cheeks were red like he was really shy Taehyung and asked
" Hi, han. Remember me?" He nodded his head lightly but did not utter a single word..
The supervisor came behind the boy and told him" han, go play outside."
The boy looked at jungkook and jungkook smiled at him.
He ran out of the door and ran
to the swing set.
The supervisor's name was Miranda. As it said in her tag.
Taehyung smiled and introduced
her to jungkook " Miranda he is my husband, jeon jungkook."
Jungkook shook his hand with the women and the women sat on the bench where han was
sitting previously.
She said, "What can I do for
you today, Mrs. Jeon ?"
Taehyung smiled widely and said, "We're here to adopt han."
Miranda smiled and said "That's great news. He's really a good kid. Calm and collected. he has really good manners."
Jungkook asked, "What happened though?"
Miranda sighed and said "Father died when he was born. Mixed with some bad people. His birth mother got into drugs. And because of that, that kid got physically abused a lot. She was a drug dealer too. Left the kid alone at home for almost 14 hours
every day. One night, she was beating him up and the neighbors heard his cries so they called child services. And then the police took her
and she got sentenced to 8 years in jail. And the judges took away all the custody and put him here. It's a really cruel world out there, Mr.
Jeon."
Jungkook spoke unconsciously "It
really is."
They did adopt han in the
end.
