"tom," connor softly stated while she laid her upper body across his bed. she situated her forearms under her chest and moved to shake him awake but paused when her hand reached his shoulder. she slowly and gently sat her hand along his jaw and slid her thumb along his bottom lip, stilling it to feel the breath push through his parted lips. she guiltily puckered her lips and glanced at her bed where the blankets twisted in disarray. "tom," she said and shook his shoulder.
"huh?" he questioned as he jerked awake.
"hey, glad to see you can't sleep either. i was gonna ask if you wanted to watch a movie or share our deepest darkest secrets but it's kinda stupid now that i'm saying it out loud so i'm just, uh, gonna go back to bed," she said and began to push herself off of his bed.
"connie girl," he said while lifting the blankets from the mattress. a smile pulled at her lips as she slid into the bed and pulled her blankets to her chin. he gently brushed her hair off her temple and lazily allowed his forearm to fall against the junction of her shoulder and neck with his hand pressed against her cheek. "wassup?" he tiredly asked and fought to keep his eyes open.
"i don't know. just jittery and nervous about starting filming, i guess," she whispered with a yawn. "it's kinda chilly in here, too."
"c'mere," he said, pulling her closer. he turned to lay on his back and extended his arm for her to rest her head against. she slid her right arm between his back and the mattress and let her left arm lay across his stomach. "better?" he asked as she snuggled closer to him.
"mhm," she hummed as her eyes fluttered shut.
"don't be nervous, connie. you'll be as amazing as always," he told her while lightly tracing patterns across her cheek and temple.
