Anansa Xuannü favorite animal is a fox/Kitsune so that is the form she chose for herself..... perhaps I should explain Anansa is a Megan who are "space sorcerers" of sorts from the planet Megas-Tu her people tend to take on human forms even though they have a hatred of them for past deeds done to them many many years ago only her outcast parents have taken on different forms her father a Satyr/Faun (think Tumnus from The Lion Witch and the Wardrobe) her mother a half Satyress half Oread as a child Anansa loved to go on "adventures" she hated the fact that her adventures were made by magic for that is what her home is mainly magic for she lives in a magical universe and magic is its natural law in her mind her people rely on it far too much her mother Cyllene saw how sad and.... bored her daughter was and talked to her husband Lucien about what they could do to help her unfortunately all they could think of was allowing their daughter to leave home and travel the universe to find her own REAL adventure and at the "tender" age of 10 that is exactly what she did her parents added a little bit of their own magic to hers by placing it within her kitsune mask like birthmark that looks more like a tattoo that is on her upper back which actually locked her magic inside her so she would survive longer outside her home Anansa traveled through all the Universes.... Alternate, Mirror, Prime etc.... trying to find one where she felt she belonged and when she was 16 she believed she finally found it she joined something known as Starfleet and became a Cadet at at their Academy she befriends a couple of humans and a half human half Vulcan who she begins to have what she thinks is unrequited feelings for this particular Vulcan is the very first person she meets at the Academy as a matter of fact they both enter arrive on Earth and enter the Academy at the same time the odd thing is that this particular Earth is the same Earth that "mistreated" her people and is the main reason her people hate humans well all but her parents do anyway Spock seemed to find her intriguing from the very start then again as far as she knows there is no other "real" Kitsune anywhere that they are mainly a part of Japanese Folklore wanting to learn everything about this particular Earth Anansa not only spends a lot of time in the library but she takes just about every class within the Academy and because of that fact she ends up spending 12 years instead of 4 within it for some odd reason she decides to become a Yeoman and hopes to end up working with a female Captain that is until her friend Captian Christopher Pike promised her that she would always have a place on the Enterprise after she graduated which actually made her happy for at least she would know and trust well TWO people aboard it him and Spock but by the time she graduated Pike was no longer Captain another one of her friends named James T Kirk is and Spock becomes Kirk's First Officer luckily Kirk heard about Pike's promise and kept it "for him" the only difference is Anansa becomes Spock's Yeoman not Kirk's for he already has one what surprised her about the change was that it was Spock's idea to have her become his Yeoman what doesn't surprise her is that he becomes a little too "easy going" and does a lot of the work she's supposed to do FOR him himself so during the times he doesn't have her working for him she helps out some of her other friends who are also on the Enterprise Leonard "Bones" McCoy and Montgomery "Scotty" Scott she's also friends with Pavel Chekov and Hikaru Sulu but they mainly work on the Bridge so she doesn't help them out as much as she does the other two Bones, Chekov, Kirk, Sulu and Scotty all think of her as more of a sister than anything else and they love having her work with them for she's really good at what she does sometimes her knowledge of what they do surprises them but they all beam with pride when she "shows it off" without actually showing off what no one knows is that Spock may be jealous of her friendship with them for he quite possibly believes that it's more than just a friendship and it takes him a very long time to figure out just how wrong he is with that assumption....
"I can't imagine what it was like to spend 12 years at the Academy!" Kirk says to Anansa as he gives her a tour of the Enterprise on her first day aboard it "well I had a lot to learn and being friends with you, Bones and Spock taught me a lot about patience!" she replies with a slightly teasing tone he laughs then looks at her quizzically "you think I spent 12 years learning the same old shit!? no I learned all there was to learn in that place so if I wanted to I could probably take over for every single person aboard this ship I wasn't a bad student...." she tells him he chuckles then says "no from what I hear you're one of the best students they had" she replies "yeah well I did spend 12 years there so of course their going to try and.... what's the human phrase!? "butter me up".... not that I understand that phrase whatsoever!" he chuckles and they hear a deep male voice say from behind them "neither do I" they turn and see Spock walking towards them "hello Spock" she says with a small bow Spock raises a eyebrow at her then replies with a slight respectful bow of his head "Anansa" Kirk smiles at the two of them then says "well I suppose Spock could finish giving you your tour I have to get back to the Bridge" she nods then replies "thanks James" he smiles at her and says "anytime, glad to have you aboard" then he walks away "he was just about to show me my quarters which I hear are right next to or perhaps across from yours" she tells Spock who nods then they start walking.... it was a very silent walk to her quarters it was almost as though they had no idea what to say to one another once they reach her rooms door and he shows her how to open it she walks in and asks as her once hidden tails appear "would you like some tea or do you have to head to the Bridge as well!?" he replies as he follows her inside "I have a few minutes" she walks over to the small kitchen and starts making some tea as she tells him "I've met your parents" he raises a eyebrow at her "you know how I would borrow a shuttle and travel to the nearby Federation planets during vacation" she says he nods "I went to Vulcan a month before my Graduation and like the idiot I am I wore my uniform at first your father seemed to think you got into trouble but after I explained why I was there he seemed to relax" she tells him.... when the Academy allowed it's students to have some vacation time Anansa would contact the Earth Ambassadors of the Federation planet she was planning on going to.... she is a hands on type of learner and only reads to learn when she absolutely had to.... she would ask their permission to come to their planet and learn about their people from them or even if they would allow her to experience life on their planet firsthand (people, plants and animals) for herself if they said no she would try a different planet she would stay for a week then head back to the Academy.... "I think he was the one I spoke to before I even arrived on the planet so I'm kind of surprised that that was the first thing on his mind when I had arrived" she adds as she pours him a cup of tea "another thing I found surprising is that much like you did he seemed to "warm up to me" pretty quickly I didn't expect him to be so.... open.... though your mother may have had something to do with that" she says he raises a eyebrow at her "well as you know I stay on the planet for a week before heading back to the Academy and he was as casual as a Vulcan allows himself to be within 2 days of my stay I half expected him to be more skeptical about my "true reasons" for being there though I did tell him that I am your friend so perhaps he believes you have good judgement when it comes to such things and relied on that as well" she tells him his eyebrow raises even higher she chuckles softly "your mother seemed to warm up to me right away though" she tells him and his eyes seemed to smile that was the only way she ever saw him smile was with his eyes that seemed to twinkle merrily and sparkle like the stars "why do you hide your tails!?" he asks "so people don't come up and try to touch it without my permission" she replies his eyes become like a lightning storm as his anger shows in them "James would never do that but I'm pretty sure a lot of other people would, many have tried at the Academy and not all of them did it for the "proper" reasons" she adds his anger grows even more at those words "at least I don't hide my ears" she tells him "this is true" he replies with a slight smile in his tone one that perhaps only she could hear she seemed to understand the different tempos within his tone when he speaks and what hidden emotions they seem to convey or perhaps it was just her and she was imagining them who's to say Spock was the first and for the longest time only person to except her main/current form completely many thought it was weird, some saw the beauty in her face and body and that was the main thing they focused on she and Spock seemed to get along right away but perhaps because they shared a commonality.... she's the only Kitsune he's the only Vulcan.... was the reason why they got along so quickly who really knows Spock didn't seem to like when she hid her tails.... she has yet to ever hid her ears.... back at the Academy she only hid them when they were in class her reasons back then were so that they didn't get in the way of anyone sitting behind her and so they wouldn't get stepped on and/or touched she only allowed those closest to her to touch them those she truly trusted would never hurt her or have a hidden.... sexual reason to touch them many were mainly curious if they are as soft as they look and since she takes very good care of them they are indeed very soft he would get quite upset if she hid her tails for he seemed to believe that she was ashamed of them but she had once told him....
A few months after Spock and Anansa met when their friendship first started to bloom and he asked her about herself "I chose this form! why would I be ashamed of my own tails!?! or my ears!?!" Anansa asks Spock tilts his head at her and for the first time in her life she tells someone about what she is she even shows him a picture of her as a child with her parents.... which she drew from memory and is very lifelike.... "my parents are Satyrs or Fauns if you prefer, our people chose a more human form which I find odd for they hate humans, me.... as a child my favorite animal was a fox my mother told me a story about the Japanese Folklore known as a Kitsune it may surprise you to know that I am the only child of my people and I mean that literally perhaps because I was born out of actual true love and not some fake love philtre" she explains after she tells him about her people the Megans "I chose my form when I was 4 before that.... I believe some would say I look like a Vulcan for I have my mothers ears when I use my more human form" she says he raises his eyebrow at her for the second time in her life she hides her ears.... she's done it once before when she became curious how her ears would look like in her "complete" human form.... and shows him what she meant then she makes her fox ears return and she raises her eyebrow when she sees/senses him become relieved "you really like them don't you!?!" she teases he raises his eyebrow at her she chuckles softly with a smile he shakes his head at her.... Spock could always tell when Anansa was teasing by the soft coo in her tone and the smile on her face and in her eyes when she does so it was almost as though she made sure he knew when she was teasing him and when she was serious and/or neutral which he in his own way appreciated but he also hated how his mind and heart started to wish that coo in her tone meant something much different more.... romantic he hated that he was "slowly" falling in love with her and yet he liked it too but he started to train himself to hide it and he became so good at it that if he were to meet someone who could read his mind they'd never find it for he locked those emotions so deep within him that even he couldn't find them when he wanted to feel them again that is until he saw some other guy pay attention to her and yet she never reciprocated their what she knew to be false emotion/infatuation or in other words them paying attention to her physical beauty more than her as a person there were very few males in her life that she is friendly with but he doesn't get to see that until she makes herself "at home" on the Enterprise and his true jealousy begins to shine though no one sees it for he hides it well as he does with all his emotions.... or at least he tries to.... and the two main people he becomes jealous of are Sulu and Scotty somehow he knew not to be jealous of Kirk perhaps because he knew she'd never fall for the Captain's "charms" but the way he's seen her and the other two react to one another he wasn't sure what to think he was happy with all the reports he was getting from all the other stations on how much they like having her help them when she wasn't doing things for him.... which was quite often mainly because he prefers to do things himself.... and how good she was at what she did for them they all basically sang her praises as the human saying goes he was so blinded by his jealousy that he couldn't see that the men he was jealous of thought of her more of a sister than a lover.... though it may be possible that at least one or two of them did have a crush on her at one time or another.... the first thing Anansa did was figure out a way where people had to vocally get her permission before entering her quarters she didn't want just anyone walking in whenever they please and after a few weeks of seeing a Nurse named Christine Chapel walk into Spock's quarters when he wasn't even in it and when he was without knocking or speaking through the com to see if he was even "at home" which Anansa found annoying and rude what was "worse" was that the woman left him "gifts" for example she made him some very poorly made bland Vulcan meals and left them on his desk and she (Anansa).... with Spock's permission.... did the same thing to his door that she did to her own
