There are
parts of me
that I may never reveal,
an abundance
of emotions that
I am destined to feel

(but never show)

and I'll hold them close
within me,
for there are
some things in life
I don't want to share freely,
and it's not destructive—
this slice of my soul
is all mine,
tiny slivers of awareness
that curve close
to my spine
