"Hey bestie!", Chan gave Aera a little hug.
"Chennie!", Aera hugged back.
"I got candy for you.And, I heard someone was being stupid. Oh! You are always stupid", Chan gave her what he bought.
"Thanks. That's why I'm your bestie", Aera said giving him a sly smile.
"You!", He pulled her hair tie causing her ponytail to be messed up.
Aera slapped his hand as Namjoon took a good time fixing her hair this morning.
Mr.Park entered the class.
Aera adjusted her hair as the class started.
"Ms.Aera, can you solve this?", Mr.Park called her in the middle of the class.
Aera felt conscious of her movements all of a sudden.
"Y-yes, Mr.Park", she walked towards the board as she solved the question.
"That's great, Ms.Kim. Please take your seat", he smiled as she ran to her seat.
As the class was over, the next hour was free as there was a test in the afternoon.
As Chan and Aera were revising, a girl hesitantly approached Aera.
"Umm, excuse me?", She said as Aera looked up.
"Yes?", Aera said.
"C-can you explain this to me?",She asked.
Aera nodded her head as she shifted closer to Chan and allowed the girl to sit next to her.
Aera started to explain as Chan minded his business.
"Thank you. I'm Danbi", She introduced herself.
"I-its nice to meet you", Aera blushed all of a sudden, feeling so shy to meet someone new.
"You're blushing", Danbi pointed out with a worried expression.
"Don't think she's falling for you. She's just shy around new people", Chan said holding Aera's hand as his eyes never left his notebook.
"S-stop it", Aera smacked his arm.
"I know your name is Aera. I mean who doesn't know you in this school", Danbi said.
Now Chan got interested in the conversation.
"I'm sure she's not half as famous as me", He said with a smirk.
"Not really. Equivalent, maybe", Danbi said.
"And Aera, I never thought you would be like this. I mean I always thought you were a little arrogant or something, since you know because of your family background. And I really got scared during that parents day function. Oh man! You were so scary! Today, I wouldn't have approached you, but these idiots don't know this question. In reality, you are sweet", Danbi ranted her thoughts out.
"It's okay to have misconceptions sometimes. People's nature is to judge from what they see. So no worries", Aera said.
"She's nowhere near what you are saying. It's just that she's too introverted and anti-social for her own good", Chan said as he went back to studying as he gave Aera a side glance.
"Understandable. Thanks for your help. I'm gonna study other stuff", Danbi said as she left.
The first ten minutes of the test was going smoothly when Aera felt a sudden cramp.
She didn't give it much thought as she continued writing.
But the intensity of the cramps increased, as her focus shattered.
She was sure it was the same as period cramps.
She was confused as her periods were over two weeks ago.
She looked at the front and Mr.Park was there working in his laptop.
Other students were utterly silent writing the exams.
She sat there without making a sound, not wanting to get people's attention.
She drank water in the hope that this will go away.
Almost at the end of the exam she started to feel better as she started to scribble.
"Pen down", Mr.Park said and started to collect the sheets.
Aera continued to write but as he came closer she gave him.the paper.
As soon as the exam was over she ran to the washroom.
And yeah, the blood was there.
She didn't know if it's proper period or spotting.
But the thing that made her tear up was that she gonna fail the test.
Her phone rang breaking her out of the trance.
She wiped her tears as she attended the call.
"Yah! Where did you run like that? Everything's alright?", Chan questioned.
"Mhmm. I'll come in a bit", she said and hung up.
Luckily she had pads.
She did her business and washed her face to erase the traces that she cried.
She was relieved that there was no stain on her pants.
The bell rang indicating it was lunch.
She began walking towards her classroom.
She spotted Chan waiting for her.
"What's up?", He asked.
"Ceiling", she said as his face became blank.
"You know what? Bye. Kira is waiting for me", Chan said standing up.
"Okay. Enjoy your lunch", Aera smiled as she waved at him.
He smiled and waved back.
As far as he analysed she was okay, nothing was out of the blue.
She was going to the cafeteria when she spotted Jungkook.
Relief coursed through her veins as she ran to him and held his arm.
"Oppa", she said hugging his arm.
"Hey, bunny", Jungkook ruffled her hair.
"What's wrong?", He asked sensing something was wrong.
She pulled him to a corner as she mumbled, "I got my periods".
"What! but it's been only two weeks", he mumbled.
"You have pads?", He asked digging through his bag, if she hadn't anything.
"I have. And I did every ritual already", she mumbled irritated.
He chuckled at her choice of words.
"Any pain?", he asked.
"Not now. I'm hungry, oppa", she said.
"Alright. Let's go to the tree. Hyung will bring food for us", Jungkook said as she nodded her head.
Meanwhile, Mr.Park was checking the papers.
His heart jumped out of his throat as he saw Aera's paper.
She failed. Her paper was almost blank.
"Shit", he cursed under his breath as he dialled the number given to contact the eldest brother.
It was instructed to him that the school officials should contact the brothers before disclosing any negative statement to the youngest.
"Yes Mr.Park?" Jin's voice could be heard.
"U-uh sir, I'm sorry to say this but your sister failed in today's test", he said scared of the output.
Most of the parents won't think about what must have happened, what must have went wrong.
They would just unleash their anger as soon as they heard the word "fail".
Now that the situation was entirely different.
He was conveying this news not to a parent, but to a guardian who was young blooded.
"Is that so?", He heard a calm reply on the other end.
"Yes, sir", he said.
"It's okay. When you return the papers don't say stuff in front of the class", he heard.
"Yes, Mr.Kim. I won't say a word", Mr.Park said.
The call ended.
Well, this was the calmest situation he ever encountered.
When Taehyung and Jimin came to know that she got her periods again, they were shocked.
Jimin was eating his food quietly, when he remembered something.
"I think it's not proper periods. It must be spotting. We had pineapple yesterday, remember?", He said.
"Ohh. I get it now", Aera said and opened her mouth as Tae was feeding her.
The thought of failing, haunted her mind.
Her mental strength broke at one point as tears welled up in her eyes.
"Baby, what's wrong?", Tae asked as he noticed her tears first.
"I will fail in the test, oppa. I had cramps back then", she cried wiping her tears.
"Nonsense", Jimin said as he passed her water.
"Don't worry about that. Nothing was in your control", Jungkook said.
"You know your true self. Sometimes, it is okay to fail. You did a great job", Jimin said hugging her and giving her a kiss.
She nodded wiping her tears.
She was not worried about her brothers reaction, she was sad that her perfect academic records were tainted now.
But hey, nothing's perfect anyways.
She tried to smile.
She laughed out when she felt some hands traveling along her sides.
Aera's phone rang as she looked at the ID.
"Jin oppa!", She exclaimed as he leaned against Jimin's chest as he was back hugging her.
"You alright?", He asked in his soft tone.
"No oppa", she started to ramble everything with a sad pout.
"Awh! You wanna come home? I can pick you up", he said.
"No no. I'll finish today's class", she said.
"If something's wrong, text me. I don't care how big or small the issue is. I will come to pick you up", he said.
"Yes, oppa. Thank you. You ate?", She questioned.
The conversation went on as Taehyung started to eat his meal.
Jungkook's mood changed as he looked at the screenshots Tino sent him of the group chat.
