THE FAE
The fae are creatures of magic, they decent from the magical realm of Prythian but were thrown out after the failed rebellion of their ancestors. The fae were send down to Earth, the home world of humans, to live alongside them. This was meant as a punishment, but turned in a reward instead as the fae destroyed all the human kingdoms and created their own cruel empires. The magic of the fae comes from Prythian and could possible be cut off, if they lose their connection with the heavenly kingdom. Fae are created from magic where humans are created from the earth. Fae posses extreme speed, strength and durability that outmatched any human, they also possess magical abilities the top of that. They also heal extremely fast and are almost impossible to kill. The fae are natural cunning and despise lying, though they are capable of it. They usually twist their words instead of lying. Fae are obsessed with making deals, especially with humans, but those deals are often worded in a special way which ultimately lead to the lose of their opponent. Deals are sealed by magic and the magic will punish those who break a deal. The main weakness of fae is iron, they can touch it and it won't stop their magic, but it stops their healing progresses which can lead to their death.
High fae
There is a certain distinction between the fae. You have the so called high fae, and lower fae. High fae are the strongest kind of fae. They have an almost human appearance. The only thing that sets them apart appearance wise are their slightly pointed ears, inhuman beauty and aura. High fae take up almost the entire upper class and all high lord, ladies and generals are high fae. This is because high fae are most more powerful than their fellow fae. They have powerful magic, and are physically much more powerful. They view themselves as better than both lower fae and humans.
Lower fae
There is a certain distinction between the fae. You have the so called high fae, and lower fae. Lower fae are the lower classes. They stand above humans but they are clearly a step below the high fae. They have much less human appearances, often seeming like monsters out of old human legends. They do not posses any magical abilities, aside from the basics (quick healing, extreme sense, speed and strength) and are physically weaker than high fae. Of course, that doesn't mean they are any less cunning or tricky. They can be just as dangerous as the high fae, they simply posses less raw power. There also happens to be a lot of discrimination against lower fae, which often leads them to be in less paying jobs and rarely in high positions. They often vent this frustration into humans, who are still inferior to them.
THE SEASON COURTS
Autumn
Notable features - red hair, brown eyes
Common magical abilities- they abilities are often fire based, including fire manipulation, heat resistance and in some extreme cases, wings made of flames and more
The autumn court is one of the seven high courts. It is based in the middle of the continent. They border to the winter and the spring court. Both are their allies. The auntumn court is known for its cruelty, and cunning fae. They are highly competitive and ambitious. It's a court of foxes. Most nobles aren't above stabbing their friends in the back, especially if it brings them in the favour of the reigning monarch. The autumn court is blessed, or cursed, with an eternal autumn. The other seasons do not make an appearance in this court. It's forever autumn, which is described as very beautiful yet chilly by most outsiders.
Winter
Notable features- pale, blonde to white hair, blue or green eyes
Common magical abilities- the members of this court have abilities linked to ice and snow. This includes, night vision, ice manipulation, ice creation, immunity to the cold, and more
The winter court is one of the seven high courts. It might be the most unwelcoming of all courts. An eternal blanket of snow and ice hides the beauty of the winter court. Not many, especially not humans, would survive the harsh climate of the court, if it wasn't for the magical borders that keep the major cities warm. Like the autumn court, it is trapped in an eternal winter. The winter court borders with the autumn court, the Summer court and the sea, though most of their sea is frozen. In the middle of the court is a gigantic frozen lake. Rumours tell that beneath the layers of ice a darkness hides much greater than anyone has ever seen before.
Spring
Notable features- green eyes, tanned skin, often taller than average
Common magical abilities- many members of this court have some the ability to shape shift, the strength of their other forms, a whole animal or just parts, depends on how much power they have. They also have a strong connection with the nature and can often control parts of plants or animals
The spring court is one of the seven high courts. This court seems like one of the softer courts. Walking through the spring court is like walking through a dream. Appearance can be tricky. The spring court is anything but a dream. It is the hell on earth for humans. In other courts, the humans are often treated with at least some dignity, that doesn't happen in the spring court. As a human it is the worst place to be. As a fae, it might be one of the best places. The spring court is fair to its fae inhabitants and there are very little political games, unlike in the other courts. It borders with the autumn court at one side, and the sea at the other side. Like the other season courts, the spring court is trapped in an endless spring
Summer
Notable features- dark or tanned skin, white or blond hair, light eyes
Common magical abilities- the members of this court often have abilities linked to the sea. This abilities include, water manipulation, no need to breath under water, blood manipulation and more
The summer court is one of the seven high courts. The court is trapped in an eternal summer. This is one of the easiest seasons to survive in, which is way the summer court is one of the biggest court in population. Various cities are scattered across the court though the most of them are close to the sea. The heat and dry weather are making it hard to live in the middle of the court, which is why most of the people live close to the sea of any other kind of water source. The summer court borders with the winter court and the holy mountain. The summer court is the fairest of all the courts, to both less unfortunate fae and humans. It is often called the court of dreams due their tolerance of lower fae and humans.
THE SOLAR COURTS
Dawn
Notable features- Pale, dark eyes, often of Asian origin
Common magical abilities - this court has abilities linked to healing. Those abilities include, healing, plain infliction, wind manipulation and more
The Dawn court is one of the three solar courts. Unlike the season courts, the solar courts are not trapped in either an eternal Dawn, day or night. But their favourable moment is considers a thousand times more beautiful. The Dawn court is one of the smaller courts, both in size and population. It has a very close bound with the day court. So close the former High lord married one of his daughters off to the son of the former high lord of the day court. The Dawn court is a peaceful court, not one to go into war easy. It has a fair share of healers, who are famous in and sought after by the other courts. Humans are often treated kindly here, as long they do not get in the way and behave. If not, they might get experimented on. The Dawn court borders with the night court, the day court and the holy mountain
Day

Common magical abilities- this court has abilities linked to light. This includes, light manipulation, invisibility, weather manipulation and more
The Day court is one of the three solar courts. Unlike the season courts, the solar courts are not trapped in either an eternal Dawn, day or night. But their favourable moment is considers a thousand times more beautiful. It has a very close bound with the day Dawn. So close the former High lord married one of his sons off to the daughter of the former high lord of the Dawn court. The day court is also called the court of the thousand libraries. It's known for its large knowledge of all subjects in the world. Their archives go back to the fall of their ancestors. The day court borders with both the day and night court.
Night
Notable features- black hair, taller than average, wings
Common magical abilities- this court has abilities linked to the darkness. These abilities include, invisibility, shadow manipulation, mind reading, mind control, fly (through wings) and more
The Night court is one of the three solar courts. Unlike the season courts, the solar courts are not trapped in either an eternal Dawn, day or night. But their favourable moment is considers a thousand times more beautiful. The night court is the court of death. It's a mystery to the outside world. The only thing the other courts know is that no one comes out of the night court alive. It is a place of darkness, one so cruel there are barely any humans left. Those who are left do not talk about the horrors they have seen, but the fear shines in their eyes. It is court without many allies, though they do not need them. The fear of their power and the unknown forces that might be hidden behind their borders is enough to keep any threats of war away. The night court borders with both the day and Dawn court.
HIGH LORDS AND LADIES
The high lord of a court is the reigning monarch of the court. They are the ones with all the power. The nobles might claim to be powerful, but they are nothing without their high lord. Not only do they hold all the political and military power, they also hold magic more powerful than anyone could imagine. Some say they are another species, so much do their powers rise above those of the average fae. Their magic connects to the land itself and therefore can not be beaten by anyone but other High lords. High lords are not born as a heir but have to fight their way up to the throne. Every single one of them has power without limit and suffered enough for a whole life time. They can marry but it is not likely their spouse will be having the same title as them. High ladies are very rare, at this moment there are two High ladies, which has never happened before.
THE HIGH GENERALS
the high generals are the second in command. They are the highest commanders in the army of the it court, and every single soldier answers to them and them alone. They serve directly under their high lord and high ladies. They take orders from no one but their high lord or lady and are often behind loyal to their ruler. Most of them come from very influential families and are raised to become the next high general. All of them are extremely lethal and physically trained behind limit. They are extraordinary warriors who strike fear in the hearts of anyone who crosses them. Most of them grew up with their high lord or lady and have known them since they were a child. Many of them have guarded their ruler many times before they even came to power, and would gladly lay their lives down for their master.
THE HOLY MOUNTAIN
The holy mountain is the place the ancestors of the fae arrived after being banished out of Prythian and the place from which they fought the very first wars. It's a holy place to all of the fae, and the only place they can meet without it ending in a bloody fight. It's forbidden to shed blood underneath the mountain. No one, not even the high lords and ladies would dare to cross this rule. The holy mountains lays in the middle of the continent, splitting the continent in two and separating the season courts from the solar courts. It is also rumoured to be the very birth place of magic and the place the magic of fae is the strongest.
MATES
Mates are the most important thing in a fae's life. Their mate, their soulmate, is everything for fae. Mates are destined to be together, a bond made my the gods. Your mate is decided at birth, and nothing can break the bound between two mates. They often have a mental connection, being able to speak to each other without words. No fae could love anyone like they love their mate, but very little fae do actually get to meet their mate. Mates are extremely rare, most fae do never meet their mate and marry someone else, be it for love or power. The bond between mates snaps in place when the mates meet and is completed when one mate offers the other food as a sign of acceptance. After the bond is completed, the mates usually take some sort of honeymoon. Both of the mates grow more aggressive and bloodthirsty for a short period after the bond is completed, and usually keep away from other people to avoid conflict.
Mates are usually extremely protective over each other which had lead to several wars. Marriage is still a known tradition among fae and many marry with people who aren't their mates, due to mates being so rare, though marriage is considered much less important than a mating bond. In some courts are mates allowed to steal their mate away from their marriage partner as soon the bond snaps in place. Currently it's allowed in the winter, spring, day and night court. However, there is one problem, mates do not always fit together. Mates are chosen by the gods, but not every pairing is perfect. Some mates are simply too different to love each other, but are forced to be together because of their bond. No one knows how mates are decided, but many suspect it depends on which couple would lead to the strongest offspring.
Another, rather unknown, fact about mates is that humans can have mates too. It isn't uncommon for them to have mates, be it other human or fae. Most high rulers are aware of this fact, but it's forbidden to speak about it. A bond between a human and fae could potentially destroy the fae's position of privilege. Which they will never let happen
