Manik's Pov
I came down for breakfast as I'm late today. Last night was very tough for me but I did it.
"Good morning dad"
"Good morning Manik why so late today?" he asked
"Don't ask dad it was a long night for me"
"Why what happened?"
"Nothing emergency cases you tell all good?" I asked
"Yeah"
"You know yesterday It was my first operation and I succeed. I save a life yesterday"
"Really? Oh my son I am so proud of you. Your mom must be the happiest seeing you from there" he saif raising his finger in air.
It was when Nandini came out from kitchen with a trolley. She served me the food.
"You need anything else sir?" She asked
"Uhm yes I need the same coffee you prepared for me last night" her eyes came out of her socket which confused me.
She looked towards dad but he was busy eating. Why is she looking at him? Obviously he won't have any problem in making a coffee for me.
"What happened is there any problem?" I asked
"No not at all why will there be I just come" she said and left.
"Where are you going?" I asked as dad got up wiping his face.
"I have urgent meeting to attend so I have to leave"
"Oh I see ok then best of luck"
"Thank you! See you" he said and left.
After of a while Nandini came back with coffee. She was pouring in cup but her hands were shivering.
"Hey what happened?" I asked
I kept my hand on her shivering hand due to which she got nervous and the kettle fallen from her hand on my pants.
"Oh my god I'm so sorry sir I am so sorry" I stood up as it was very hot
"Its ok"
"No sir I'm really really sorry you please change it"
"Yeah I'm going" I said and left to my room.
After changing my clothes I came out. Nothing happened to me but I am really pissed off with her behavior why is she always tense and scared?
I sat on bed while the door knocked. I allowed and There come Nandini with a tray. Her eyes were swallowed. Oh god this girl cried?
"Sir you breakfast" she said keeping the tray on table.
I went towards her, she turned around and bumped in me.
"I'm sorry sir I..." She choked and tears find their way in her eyes.
"Hey why are you crying? It was just a coffee"
"Sir please don't complain to Mr. Malhotra he will... He-"
"He what?" I asked and she looked at me. She wiped her tears
"He will throw me out for sure" she said and I smiled
"He won't my dad is not cruel and more importantly I won't complain so relax"
"Promise?" She asked like a child while I chuckled.
"Yes I promise"
She wiped her face. I don't know why but I held her chin pulling her face up to see me.
"Why are you always like this?" I asked
"Like what?"
"Scared, nervous and depressed"
"Nothing Its just I... I should leave I have works to do" she made an excuse and left.
I called Mukti and asked when will she come. After that I finished my breakfast and lay down to sleep again because I'm still tired.

I slowly opened my eyes as there was some noises coming. Looking around I found Nandini cleaning the room. I hugged the pillow looking at her. I don't know if I was lost or what but my eyes were glued on her.
She moved towards the side table and I closed my eyes. She opened the drawer putting some kind of papers inside then close it back. She looked at me for a moment then looked down, again looked at me.
What is she doing?
She moved closer to my face and my body tensed. I'm not getting good vibes. She caressed my cheek and moved back. Oh it was something on my face
Of course Manik what else was you thinking?
I opened my eyes and she made a distance acting like she is busy in her work
"Evening" I said stretching my arms
"Uhm... Good Evening! Do you need anything to eat sir?" She asked
"No but yeah Today I have a guest to see so please let the chef know to make some kind of light food"
"Ok sir" she said and left.
"Oh god I'm still sleepy" I threw myself on bed

"Hellooo Manik" I turned around to see Mukti running towards me. I smiled and opened my arms to welcome
"Mukti How are you?"
"I'm good how are you? Long time no see" she said
"You know I was in America so... Leave me you tell psychiatrist and all huh? You finally reached your dream"
"Yes just like you"
"Oh Mukti what a pleasant surprise"
"Oh Mr. Malhotra look at you, you are still looking young"
"Oh please I'm young okay I'm just 40 after all"
"Yes yes"
"Come sit"
We talked for a while then I took her to my room and discussed everything with her
"Where is she?" She asked
"She must be working"
"What if she won't tell me?"
"I don't know why but I have a gut feeling that she'll tell you but god knows"
"Hmm ok then let me talk to her"
"Wait let me see if dad is there or not"
"Okay"
I walked out looked everywhere but I guess he isn't home.
"Tanvi where is Nandini?" I asked
"I don't know sir maybe in her room"
"Okay" She got busy in her works and I took Mukti with me to servant quarter
"Its her room I think you should go alone" I said and she nodded
Before she could knock we hear some noises from inside.
"Sir please it wasn't intentionally he asked for a coffee so I made"
"What the fuck you were doing there?"
"Sir I was... I was uhm..."
"No answer right it means you were there for no reason"
"No sir I... I wasn't feeling well so I left I'm so sorry sir it won't happen again"
"No Nandini No you know I won't leave you without punishment"
"Mr. Malhotra please I beg you My back is still not recovered from previous bruises please sir"
"So what I don't care"
I was shocked to the core listening Mr. Malhotra. This can't be truth
"Mr. Malhotra?" Mukti said to which it was clear that I heard right
"I can't believe dad how can he do this"
