After my mini tantrum with Flau'jae I've been thinking. Maybe she's right, we can go ahead and work on the baby.
I just don't want to be pregnant, sick, and alone. Yes I have other people who can help, but I don't want them.
I'm very appreciative of everybody, but I love comfort from my lover. She just makes me feel secure and calm.
I just don't want to risk anything happening and she can't get to me. What if I pass out and nobody knows?
Scratch that we're waiting until the season is over.
"If you not helping get out the kitchen" I heard my aunt say causing me to snap out of my thoughts
"I'm not helping" I said before she rolled her eyes, "And y'all said no kids in the kitchen"
"Exactly, so get out" my other aunt said while opening the oven, "You in people way"
"I'm grown"
"It don't matter, you still get out the kitchen" she said before my mouth dropped
"I'm getting something to drink and I'm gone"
I went over to the cooler and found something to drink. After closing it back, I left out making my way to the back door.
My family is having a cookout and everybody is here. Even family from back home that I haven't seen in a while
The cookout just started and everybody is on bullshit. The day that this family is ever at peace, it'll be a cold day in hell.
"Wassup Ms.Hollywood" my cousin said as I approached him
"Hollywood?" I asked causing him to laugh
"Hell yeah" he said while nodding, "Yo' ass be nowhere in sight, I'm surprised you came"
"Blame your family"
"Bruh on god they be on dumb shit, I can't catch a break" he said agreeing with me, which made me happy
Now I know it's not just me.
"Exactly, and I be busy too" I informed him a little more, "Like I'm supposed to be in Chicago for a booking, but it got canceled"
"Oh yeah, I be seeing you on Instagram. You be in another city everyday. I love your life, I'm proud of you"
"Thank you, thank you I try"
"It's working, but Nadia was looking for you. She somewhere over there" he pointed in her direction before I nodded
"Alright, I'll talk to you later"
I walked away making my way over to where Nadia was. I'm actually excited to see my cousins who are still living in Baltimore.
We never see each other or talk to each other. Every once in a while we'll like each others post, but nothing more.
"Angel" Nadia yelled jumping up and running over to me
We both hugged each other tight for a few seconds before letting go.
"Oh my god, I missed you and you look good" I said excitedly while examining her appearance
"Thank you, I missed you too. Ain't you married now?" She asked before looking down at my finger
"Yes" I smiled from ear to ear happily while holding up my finger, "Yes, yes"
"I'm so happy for you congratulations, and you better show me some pictures of the wedding"
"Thank you, and I will"
"Where she at?" Nadia looked around for Flau'jae causing me to snicker
"Girl playing basketball, you know the season just started. She's in basketball land right now"
"Aw, I know your cry baby ass be missing her"
"I do"
"My cousin a basketball wife, I love that for you" she said as we both let out a laugh
"Thank you"
We finished talking before I eventually made my way back inside. I'm hungry and they're taking forever to finish the food.
"Is the food not done?" I asked while walking in the kitchen turning heads
"They said another hour" my cousin said before I sighed madly
"What the fuck, I'm hungry as hell. My stomach is literally touching my back"
"They waiting on the chicken and ribs" my mom said causing me to shake my head
I thought when you came to a cookout the food was supposed to be done already.
"Alright"
To pass time, I made my way to the family room where everybody was. Now that I'm taking notice, it's a lot of us here than I thought
It's so many of us in the house and outside, it's not okay. The majority of them came from Baltimore, but some of them from other states.
"Hey pretty girl" I spoke to a little girl, she just ran up to me, "What's your name?"
"Veah" she responded in a tiny calm voice
The way my baby fever has been at an all time high, I might kidnap her. It's so many little kids running around, I can't wait until mine is
"Oh, I like it a pretty name for a pretty girl" I said before she smiled at me innocently
"Can you pick me up?"
I picked her up before realizing we were being watched. Am I not allowed to hold her?
"What y'all looking at?" I asked while approaching them before receiving chuckles
"You" my cousin Reiah, said before smiling
"I can't hold her or something?" I asked before they all shrugged, "Who baby?"
"That's Bria daughter" my cousin said before my mouth dropped
"She do look like Bria" I said shockingly while looking at Veah, "So pretty"
"But Angel motherhood don't look bad on you. You need to go ahead and start pushing them out" Reiah said while smiling at me
"Reiah we have this conversation every time we see each other. You harassing me at this point" I said causing us to both laugh
"Cause I'm serious, and you just got that mom attitude. You got a mom body too"
"Reiah it's okay" I waved her off ending the conversation
I don't want to get on the baby topic because it's fresh. Not only that, but nobody's knowing about the baby until I'm pregnant.
"I thirsty" Veah said while tapping me lightly
"You want juice?" I asked causing her to nod and point. Once I realized she was pointing at her cup I headed over to it
"Neveah you know you too big to be held" one of the kids said as I gave her, her cup
"Leave me alone" Veah turned her head the opposite way
"She's fine" I said with a slight chuckle, "And its too many of us in here, it's hot"
"They said the AC in here broke" one of my little cousins said causing me to shake my head
This big ass house and they don't have AC. That's crazy as fuck to me, but it's not my house.
"What y'all in here doing?" Uncle Jab came busting in all loud with a cup in his hand
"Bruh unc you gotta leave" somebody said causing me to laugh, "His drunk ass doing too much"
"I ain't come up here to stay with y'all asses. I came to say — uh Angel your momma down there arguing with Nita"
"What the fuck" I sighed annoyed before putting Veah down
I made my way downstairs heading in the direction of the chaos. What could they possibly be arguing about?
"Worry about you and your kids, keep mines out your mouth" my mom said as I walked in the living room
"Angel I said what I said" Aunt Nita threw her hands up, "You can be mad all you fucking want"
"I am mad cause you acting like the way you raise your kids is better than how anybody else raise theirs"
"Y'all need to stop, it's not that serious" my grandma said while holding her hand up
"No, but I can see how both of y'all feel" one of my uncle's instigated before I raised a eyebrow, "I'm on both sides"
"How?" my mom yelled out angrily moving closer causing me to grab her
She gone hit somebody, and I'm gonna have to jump in. I don't feel like beating nobody ass today.
"Cause your kids do act high and mighty. Juju walked in demanding shit, and Angel too boujee to speak"
"Why I'm being brought into it though?" I asked confused because I've been minding my business the whole time
"Exactly, I been saying don't worry about mine" my mom turned and looked at me
"Cause you too high and mighty for family" Aunt Nita said sternly, "The money, fame, and your relationship got to your head"
"It's giving jealousy cause ain't no fucking way" I said while slightly chuckling, "I'm leaving, I can't entertain this"
One thing I will do is leave and I mean every time. I just don't like all the extra dumb shit, it's stupid.
Why can't we just be a normal family?
Arguing at every family event about the same people and topics is old. I'm old enough to where I can leave now, and I'll do just that.
