Chapter 14

Arnav groggily opened his eyes, slowly emerging, he reached out to his bedside table to grab his phone, intending to check the time. However, as his fingers brushed against the cool surface of the device, he noticed a new message notification.

Curiosity piqued, Arnav swiped his finger across the screen, unlocking his phone. His eyes widened as he saw the message was an MMS, and the preview image displayed a compromising position involving him and Khushi. A mix of shock, confusion, and anger flooded his senses as he hesitated for a moment. Should he open it? Was this some kind of sick prank?

Taking a deep breath, Arnav tapped on the message, bracing himself for what he was about to see. The video began to play, and his heart sank when he realized it was indeed him and Khushi in the video. The footage had been taken secretly, capturing a private moment that was never meant to be seen by anyone else.
As the scenes unfolded before his eyes, Arnav's mind raced, desperately trying to comprehend how such a personal moment had been captured and sent to him. Doubt and suspicion crept in, clouding his thoughts. Who could have done this? Was it someone they knew? Or was it just a random act of malice?

With shaking hands, Arnav paused the video, unable to bear witnessing any more of the intimate footage.  The background it's seen like Goa the last night were they spend their time together.
As he stared at the frozen frame on his phone, Arnav's mind went back to the moments shared with Khushi.

Arnav's heart raced as he dialed Khushi's number, his mind filled with worry. It rang and rang, but there was no answer. He tried again, hoping she would pick up this time,  Panic began to set in. Why wasn't she answering? Was she already aware of the video? Or was she simply occupied with something else?

Khushi sat at her desk in her office, a soft smile playing on her lips as she reminisced about the events of the previous night. Arnav's confession of love had taken her by surprise, as their relationship had initially started as a no-strings-attached fling. But with each passing day, their connection had deepened, and they had both realized that they wanted something more. The realization had brought immense joy to Khushi's heart, and she couldn't help but wear that happiness on her face.
Lost in her thoughts, Khushi suddenly heard a knock on her office door. Startled, she turned her attention towards the entrance and was pleasantly surprised to see Shyam, standing there. She quickly composed herself and rushed to open the door.

"Shyam! What a pleasant surprise!" Khushi exclaimed, a genuine smile spreading across her face. "Please come in."
Shyam entered the room, a warm smile adorning his face as well. "Khushi, I hope I'm not interrupting anything important. I just wanted to talk to you about the interior design for my new office.".
Khushi chuckled lightly, shaking her head. "No, not at all. I was just lost in my thoughts. Come, have a seat. I'd be happy to help you with the design."
They both settled down in chairs opposite each other, ready to discuss the upcoming project. But before they delved into the details, Shyam couldn't help but notice Khushi's radiant smile.
"You seem really happy today, Khushi. Anything special?" he asked, curiosity evident in his voice.

Khushi blushed, her smile growing wider. "Well,  it's nothing just feeling good today"

Khushi sat in her office, engrossed in a conversation with Shyam about the interior designs for his new office. They discussed color schemes, furniture options, and the overall ambiance Shyam wanted to create. Khushi was passionate about her work as an interior designer and always gave her best to her clients.

As they exchanged ideas and opinions, the door suddenly swung open, and Arnav entered, looking disheveled and exhausted. His eyes widened when he saw Khushi and Shyam engrossed in conversation. He hadn't expected to find Shyam in her office, and it made him nervous.
Arnav quickly composed himself, putting on a smile as he greeted them. "Hey, Khushi. Shyam, what a surprise to see you here!"
Shyam grinned and stood up, extending his hand towards Arnav. "Arnav, my man!   Just came to discuss some office designs with Khushi. She's doing a great job, as always."
Arnav shook Shyam's hand, trying to hide his discomfort. "That's great to hear, Shyam. Khushi is indeed talented in her work. I'm Also here for her ideas for our exhibition which we are conducting for our Japanese clients,i thought to discuss with her as she travel to Japan"

As Shyam bid them goodbye and left the room, Arnav let out a sigh of relief. He turned to Khushi, his eyes still carrying the weight of the recent events. "Khushi, did you get any notification?"

Khushi glanced at her phone, scanning through her messages and notifications. "No, Arnav. I don't see anything. Why? Is everything okay?"

Arnav hesitated for a moment, contemplating whether to share the truth with Khushi or not. He decided against it, fearing the consequences it might bring. "No, it's nothing. Just a work-related issue. I thought I received a message, but it must have been a mistake.you know these new intern are so bad "

Khushi looked at him, concern etched on her face. "Are you sure, Arnav? You seem really tense lately. Is something bothering you?"
Arnav forced a smile, trying to appear calm. "No, Khushi. Just work stress, you know how it gets sometimes. But don't worry, I'll handle it."
Khushi reached out and held his hand, her eyes filled with love and concern. "Arnav, you know you can always talk to me, right? We're in this together."
Arnav nodded, feeling torn between wanting to confide in Khushi and wanting to protect her from the harsh reality. "I know, Khushi. And I appreciate that. But for now, let's focus on work. We can deal with everything else later."
Khushi nodded, though a hint of worry still lingered in her eyes. She squeezed his hand gently, offering him a reassuring smile. "Okay, Arnav. We'll get through this together."
Arnav smiled back at her, grateful for her understanding and support. Deep down, he knew he had to face the truth eventually, but for now, he would do whatever it took to protect the woman he loved.

Arnav stepped out of Khushi's office, his mind consumed with a whirlwind of thoughts.  he couldn't shake off the feeling that something was off.
As he walked down the bustling city streets, Arnav pulled out his phone and dialed a number he knew by heart. The line rang a few times before a familiar voice answered.

"Hey, Aman," Arnav said in a rushed tone. "I need to talk to you. It's urgent.
Aman, his college mate who was on the other end of the call, sounded preoccupied. "Arnav, I'm in the middle of something right now. Can this wait?"
Arnav hesitated for a moment, but the urgency in his voice couldn't be ignored. "No, it can't wait. I need to see you as soon as possible."

Aman sighed, realizing the seriousness in Arnav's tone. "Alright, I can meet you this afternoon. Is that alright?"
Arnav sighed in relief, grateful that Aman was willing to accommodate him. "Yeah, that works. Let's meet at our usual spot."

Aman agreed, and they finalized the time and place before ending the call. Arnav felt a mix of anticipation and anxiety,  It felt like he was on the verge of a breakthrough, and he couldn't afford to waste any more time..

Arnav sat at the head of the conference room table, his mind consumed by the weight of the impending meeting. Today was a crucial day for him as he prepared to present to a group of investors, including Mr. Gupta, Khushi's father. The success of this meeting would determine the future of his company, and the pressure was mounting.
His assistant, Riya, had been working tirelessly, assisting him in preparing the presentation and ensuring all the necessary arrangements were in place. Her efficiency and dedication had always impressed Arnav, and he had come to rely on her heavily.
As the clock ticked closer to noon, Arnav's anxiety grew. He glanced at his watch, realizing that time was running out. Riya entered the conference room, her face flushed with exertion and a tray of refreshments in her hands. She placed it on the table in front of Arnav, her eyes reflecting a mix of concern and support.
"Here's the coffee and pastries, sir," Riya said, her voice steady but laden with worry. "I hope this helps calm your nerves before the meeting."

Arnav barely acknowledged her gesture, his mind preoccupied with  the mms,he is not understanding what the hell is this. The pressure was mounting, and his patience wore thin. In a moment of frustration, he snapped at Riya.
"Is this the best you can do, Riya?" Arnav's voice was laced with anger, his words sharp and cutting. "You know how important this meeting is, and yet you can't even get the refreshments right!"
Riya's face fell, her eyes welling up with tears. She had been working tirelessly to support Arnav, and his harsh words stung deeply. She quietly excused herself from the room, leaving Arnav to his own thoughts.

As Arnav took a deep breath, trying to regain his composure, the realization hit him. He had acted rashly and unjustly towards Riya. He had let his anxiety and stress get the best of him, forgetting the support and dedication that Riya had shown him throughout their working relationship.

Filled with remorse, Arnav quickly rose from his seat and followed Riya out of the conference room. He found her in the hallway, wiping away tears from her eyes.
"Riya, I'm so sorry," Arnav said, his voice laden with regret. "I shouldn't have spoken to you like that. It was uncalled for, and I deeply apologize."

Riya looked up at Arnav, her eyes still filled with sadness. She nodded, her voice barely above a whisper. "It's alright, sir. I understand the pressure you're under.

"No, it's not alright," Arnav insisted, his voice firm but filled with sincerity. "You've been nothing but supportive and efficient throughout this entire process. I let my frustrations get the best of me, and I take full responsibility for my actions."
Riya's expression softened as she listened to Arnav's heartfelt apology. She knew that he was stressed and that the upcoming meeting was of utmost importance to him. After a moment, she mustered a small smile.

"Thank you, sir. I appreciate your apology," Riya said, her voice filled with forgiveness. "Let's go back inside, and I'll ensure everything is in order for the meeting.

However, as Arnav approached the projector to check the presentation one last time, his eyes widened in shock. The screen displayed a familiar image - an MMS of him and Khushi, a message he had received earlier that morning. Panic coursed through his veins as he realized that the video was playing on a loop for all to see.

In a matter of moments, Akash and the investors would be entering the room, including Mr. Gupta, Khushi's father. Arnav's heart raced as he tried to comprehend the implications of this unexpected turn of events. He knew that his personal life intertwining with his professional one could have disastrous consequences.
Frozen in shock,
Arnav's heart pounded in his chest as he stood frozen, staring at the conference room's projector screen. The MMS of him and Khushi, which he had received earlier that morning, played on a loop for all to see. Panic surged through his veins, knowing that in just moments, Akash and the investors, including Mr. Gupta, Khushi's father, would be entering the room.
Gathering his wits, Arnav hurriedly reached for the projector's remote control, desperate to stop the video from playing any further. He pressed every button, but the screen remained stubbornly filled with his personal moments with Khushi. Sweat formed on his forehead, his hands trembling with anxiety.
"Come on, come on," Arnav muttered under his breath, his eyes darting between the remote and the projector. He clicked the buttons in a frenzy, hoping for a miracle. But the video continued to play, taunting him with each passing second.

With a surge of determination, Arnav rushed to his laptop, praying that he could somehow disconnect the connection to the projector. His fingers flew across the keyboard, desperately searching for a solution. Sweat dripped down his temples as time seemed to slip away faster than ever.
As he frantically clicked through the settings, a glimmer of hope flickered within him. He spotted a small icon on the corner of his screen that indicated the connection between his laptop and the projector. Without a second thought, he clicked on it, hoping it would sever the link..
But as he did, the screen flickered, and the video continued to play. His heart sank, and his breath hitched. He had to find another way. His mind raced, considering all the options available to him.
Suddenly, a light bulb went off in Arnav's head. He remembered that there was an emergency power switch near the entrance of the conference room. It was a last resort option, but he had no other choice.
With a renewed sense of urgency, Arnav sprinted toward the entrance of the conference room. He pushed the heavy wooden door open and scanned the room for the emergency switch. His eyes locked onto a small red button on the wall, hidden behind a potted plant. He rushed over, his hand trembling as he reached out to press it.
Just as his finger made contact with the button, the sound of footsteps echoed down the hallway. Akash and the investors were approaching. Arnav's heart raced even faster, knowing that time was running out..

With a deep breath, he pressed the button, cutting off the power to the projector and plunging the room into darkness. The screen went black, and the room fell silent. Arnav's heart pounded in his chest as he waited for the footsteps to draw nearer.
The door swung open, and Akash, along with the investors, stepped into the room. They paused, confusion evident on their faces as they took in the darkness.<ml
"What happened?" Akash asked, his voice filled with concern.
Arnav quickly composed himself, his mind racing for an explanation. "There seems to be a technical glitch with the projector. I apologize for the inconvenience," he replied, trying to sound as calm and collected as possible..
Mr. Gupta, Khushi's father, entered the room next, his brow furrowed. "Technical glitch or not, we are here for an important meeting. Let's proceed with or without the projector," he declared..

Relief washed over Arnav as he realized that his plan had worked, at least for now. He nodded, grateful for Mr. Gupta's understanding...
As the meeting began, Arnav couldn't help but feel a mix of gratitude and anxiety. He was thankful that he had managed to prevent the MMS from being seen by the investors, but the consequences of its existence still lingered. He knew that he would have to confront the situation head-on and find a way to protect.
Arnav was in meeting when he gets a msg "it's just starting.....,be thankful i didn't upload your colour nights video to every social site, this view just enjoyed by you and me"
Arnav clutch his phone.

Precap: Mr.gupta bring marriage alliance for khushi.
