Monica's eyes fluttered open as the first rays of the Australian sun crept through her bedroom window. She stretched and yawned, feeling a pleasant sense of drowsiness wash over her. It had been a late night, but she couldn't help but smile as she recalled the incredible concert she had performed the previous evening.

With a groggy yet excited curiosity, Monica reached for her phone, which sat on her bedside table. As she unlocked it, she was greeted by a series of notifications. Most were from friends congratulating her on the show, but one message in particular caught her eye. Samantha Kerr had messaged her.

Samanthakerr20:

Hey Monica, just wanted to let you know your performance was unreal last night and I really enjoyed meeting you

Monica's cheeks flushed with a mix of surprise and delight. Sam Kerr had not only remembered her but had taken the time to send a message.

Monica.reyes:

Hi Sam. I love that you loved it, it means a billion to me. I really enjoyed meeting you guys as well, you are all such cool people.

SamanthaKerr20 liked this message.

Monica was ecstatic at this point, she felt acknowledged. It was the feeling a person gets hearing a new song by their favourite artist for the very first time, heart pounding and all. So what would any normal person do? Mona doesn't know the answer to that question, she writes music when she feels an intense standout of an emotion.

Just like second nature, Monica sat at her piano with her notebook beside her humming a new melody to accompany piano keys expressing the way she felt.  With each note, Mona channeled her profound love into the music, a jubilant conversation with her heart. The lyrics, like poetry, began to take shape. They spoke of the endless smiles and stolen glances, of a love that felt like a melody that would never fade away.

Her voice, filled with warmth and passion, sang out the words as they formed. They were a testament to the love that had swept her off her feet, a love that made every day feel like a grand adventure, and every moment a cherished memory.

With a radiant smile, Mona picked up her pen and transcribed the lyrics onto the pages. This was her muse, her elation, and her art. It was the embodiment of the love she felt—a singer, a songwriter, and a harbinger of the profound joy that was too powerful to contain.

1 week later

Monica glanced up from her notebook, her fingers still tapping out a melody on the piano keys. The soft strains of her latest composition filled the room, a world of music she often retreated into. She had been so engrossed in her work that she hadn't noticed her phone buzzing on the nearby table. When she finally picked it up, she saw a message from her Ellie Carpenter

Smellie💛

Hey Mona, the girls and I are celebrating a win tonight and I heard you were still in town. Fancy joining us at 7 for dinner and drinks at The Garden with us? 😘

A smile spread across Monica's face as she quickly typed out her reply.

Momo 💜

O my gosh count me in hun, see you then 😘

So for the next few hours into the afternoon and evening Monica stood in front of her closet rummaging through her clothes trying to find the perfect outfit. It was like an olympic sport but even then winning a gold medal would be easier than this.

With a grin, Monica assessed her outfit, a sleek black dress that clung to her figure in all the right places. She'd paired it with some elegant heels that added a few inches to her height. A touch of mascara and a swipe of her favourite red lipstick completed her look. 6:30, perfect. She grabbed her phone and handbag and went out to her black G-Wagon.

As she made her way to the restaurant where they were meeting, Monica's mind buzzed with anticipation. When she arrived at the restaurant, Monica spotted Ellie waiting at their reserved table, surrounded by her soccer teammates. Ellie's face lit up as she saw Monica approach, and they shared a warm hug.

"Mona, you look stunning!" Ellie exclaimed.

Monica blushed and returned the compliment, "You're not too shabby yourself, Elle."

As Monica went to sit down she noticed the only free spot was in-between Ellie and Samantha Kerr, not that she was complaining but it was hard to keep the fan girl in.

The dinner conversation flowed as they savored the delectable dishes before them. Monica couldn't help but steal occasional glances at Sam, who was engaged in the lively chatter.  The aroma of garlic and tomato sauce filled the air, setting the scene for a relaxed evening.

Sam grinned and raised her glass of Champagne. "To our amazing team! You guys killed it today! And to Miss Monica Reyes for hanging with us."

A soft pink graced Monica's pale cheeks as everyone brought their glasses together in a toast before turning back to individual conversations.

"So when are you leaving Melbourne?" Sam had suddenly turned to the blonde girl.

"I'm going to Sydney in like two days for the last leg of my tour." Monica replied with a soft smile on her face.

"Sweet as, I might just come. I'll be there anyway for the first game of the group stage." Monica felt her heart skip a beat.

"That's so sweet of you. I think I might go to that game actually, I'll try and get tickets."  Sam smiled a that before getting pulled into conversation with Mackenzie, Alanna and Caitlin.

Monica felt a tap on her shoulder from the right side, when she turned she was met with the smirk of her best friend.

"Getting comfy there Mona?" Ellie asked the blonde.

"What are you trying to say?" Monica fired back.

"Nothing, don't worry about me." Ellie shrugged before talking to Steph.

The rest of the night flowed amazingly, the team had all asked Mona about her music and potential new music each expressing their love for her art. The team had been an instant click with Monica, these girls were so welcoming and down to earth people. Monica felt at home with them.

As they gave their goodbyes for the night each of them had promised to stay in touch with the singer and she gave her luck to them in their upcoming training telling them she'll be there to watch the magic against Ireland.

"See ya Mona." Sam bring the girl in for a hug before she got in the car with Caitlin and Hayley.

"See ya Sammy." Monica waved off the brunette. When the car was out of sight Monica let out a little squeal exerting her giddiness that had been building up over night.
