chapter 1
august 27th, 1976
lilliana (lily) 's POV:
"this is it.." i mumbled as i started towards the front door.
i'm finally moving back home. my mother and father got 8 years ago. i have barely seen my brother or mother in that time. it's only been me and my dad.
my dad got a new job in england, he said i could stay with my mother. i walked up to the front door and knocked on it.
"shit, that's her!" i heard a voice yell and someone come down the stairs. the door opened and a blonde boy stood in front of me.
"vance.."
i said softly and looked up at him. he hugged me quickly and he picked me up a little. i hugged him back as a few tears formed in my eyes. "lils.." he mumbled in to my shoulder.
only vance ever called me 'lils'...
he put me down but i still stayed close to him as i heard someone else come down the stairs.
"lily?" i heard a voice behind me. my mom.
"ma.." i smiled and hugged her, she kissed my forehead softly. a few tears rolled down my cheek as the memories of all of us came back.
the smell of my mothers perfume, the smell of the same air freshness scent from almost 8 years ago.
my dad stood in the doorway. he gave vance a quick hug. "hey buddy.." our dad said softly. vance hated him for taking me. "hi." vance said bluntly and went back over towards me.
"sydney.." my dad nodded to my mom.
"caleb.." my mother nodded back.
"lily, i'll just leave your boxes in the garage.." dad mumbled. "wait- you aren't gonna stay for a bit?" i looked over at him.
"i have my flight in 5 hours.. it'll just be better if i go.." he smiled and said 'bye' to vance and mom. i went out to grab my boxes, there was only 4 medium sized ones.
"i guess this is goodbye for a bit.." i mumbled up to my dad. "yeah, it is, kiddo." he said quietly and i hugged him.
"bye dad."
"bye lily."
