A/N a rather short one bc I rlly like the idea
Yoongi sighed, hating every second of what he was going to do next as he entered the wooden closet. No, he was not about to hide his sexuality again, but rather do his job.
Let's just say, student loans had been more expensive than expected and to make a living for himself, Yoongi had stumbled upon an actor position at a horror themed escape room.
His job was fairly simple seeing as all he had to do was dress up and scare costumers who try to solve the riddles and escape.
'Here we go' he thought to himself hearing the music indicating the guests had entered the game.
"AHHHHHHH!!" - what the?
He had most definitely not anticipated some costumer screaming his balls off the first second the game started.
'Well he's not gonna like this part then' Yoongi almost mumbled to himself, seeing how there were only a few moments left before his part came.
A loud thud roared through the small escape room- highlighted by way too dramatic background music of course- as he stormed out of his hiding spot to give the visitors a nice little scare.
What he most definitely did not anticipate was one of the guys in the room practically yeeting his whole existence from where he was standing- which mind you wasn't even close to Yoongi- to the next best corner as far away from him as possible.
Huh, it almost reminded Yoongi of his dating life.
The others in the room, presumably the guys friends, erupted into a roar of laughter. "Hobi chill!" one of them said almost rolling on the floor from laughing so hard "It's just an actor"
"Well why on earth is he dressed like a Zombie!" The Hobi guy practically wailed.
"Because we're in a horror escape room?" Suddenly the chains around Yoongis torso gave in, causing him to reach a little further into the room.
Poor Hobi guy almost got a heart attack from that.
"WELCOME YOUNG SCIENTISTS!" a sound then erupted from one of the speakers. This wasn't a surprise to Yoongi at all, he'd done this bit since forever after all.
"You and your fellow comrades sought out this hidden science lap where the Zombie virus found it's origin in hopes of finding a cure. But things took a bad turn when there was a sudden explosion causing the main gates to close. Now, you must solve all riddles and find the exit before the rusty chains on one of the failed test subjects completely give in-"
'-and it'll eat you alivveee oh nooo' Yoongi continued in his head while almost rolling his eyes at the monologue he had heard way too many times for it to be healthy.
Yes his role was playing said 'failed test subject' and yes the cheap plastic chains around his torso were uncomfortable as hell. But anyway, money stayed money.
'rrrhhh' the sound of Yoongis chains binding him to the wall giving in was heard yet again. So naturally, Yoongi comfortably waddled his way into the 'scary science lab'. Of course, which would Yoongi only admit over his dead body, he did have to actually put on an act and imitated a Zombie walk as best as he could.
"OH MY FUCK GUYS WE'RE GONNA DIE IN HERE" The Hobi guy almost seemed to piss his pants, frantically starting to run around the room looking for clues or rather, an emergency exit.
"okay!" a tall blond guy clapped his hands together "Let's get this going then!"
Damn he's the leader typa guy then. "How about we start exploring around a bit for clues" Yoongis chains gave in a bit more "Annnd that fast"
The six costumers spend the next 30 minutes solving riddles and finding clues to unlock the main escape door that contained 5 locks. The group wasn't as bad as Yoongi had anticipated with the blond tall dude being the smartest one, whom he learned his name was Namjoon.
Among the group was also a brown haired bunny like looking guy who was oddly passionate about having to 'win this game as fast as possible'- his words not Yoongis-, a broad shouldered tall dude, quote "I'm way too handsome to be eaten by a Zombie! Maybe a fairy, but not a Zombie!"
"You wanna get eaten by Jimin?"
"Tae!" Well, fairy Jimin just kicked poor Tae for that statement.
But the one person that was most intriguing to Yoongi was that Hobi guy. How could he not? With the way the taller always made sure to hold the largest distance between them as he possibly could in the small room and constantly side eyed him just in case Yoongi tried something funny. It was almost like nobody had told the dude about the game they were playing and he was not about to be actually eaten alive.
It was way too amusing for Yoongi to witness. Plus, with him teleporting himself across the room, screaming his soul out whenever he just got the glance of something scary was way too entertaining to watch.
Yoongi didn't have a clock with him, but seeing how he's now able to reach into more than half of the room, the group didn't have much time left. Poor Hobi guy was seriously having a crisis.
"Jung Hoseok calm down before I hit you!" broad shouldered dude threatened "We're never getting out of here if you keep freaking out like this!"
"It's not my fault you all dragged me into this mess! I never wanted to go here to get eaten by some ugly Zombie!" okay ouch? Yoongi then decided to call the Hobi guy Hoseok guy from then on out. He's not getting nicknamed from him again after that one.
"Don't say that. Look! You even offended the Zombie!" all eyes were suddenly on him, something he really did not like. He didn't even notice wen he started looking offended.
It almost seemed like a flash of remorse crossed Hoseok guys face "I'm sorry Zombie" He seriously is not about to apologise right?
"I didn't mean to offend you, you're actually-" He stopped himself, stepping a bit closer to Yoongi "Well you don't look very appealing.."
Excuse me? Of course Yoongi wore a ton of make-up and bandages to look as scary as possible. In fact, one who knew him might have not even recognised him under the green- grayish layer of make-up covering his entire skin. But still-
"BUT!" Hoseok stuttered out after a minute of thinking "You're short, which I think is a good quality because short guys are cute."
Wow. The guy looked way too proud of himself after calling him ugly and then short. The worst part was that he actually did look unfairly cute and supportive that Yoongis brain seriously stopped to think if he was supposed to feel flustered after the insult.
But just for a second because just then his chains gave in and Yoongi made sure to rush forward as abruptly as possible right up into Hoseok guys face.
Maybe not the best idea for the health of his eardrums right after Hoseok let out the loudest screech known to mankind, rushing to cling to the blond tall dude.
"Namjoonie~~" He sounded like he was about to cry, which he probably was. 'Namjoonie' only shook his head, trying not to laugh.
"Guys! We seriously have to hurry!" Bunny guy stressed. But he was right. Yoongi was almost able to reach into the small corner of space they still had left, then it was over.
But Yoongi wasn't necessarily worried about that, after all they were a smart group and would've made it out a while ago if not for them messing around and wasting time with -for example- broad shouldered guy taking selfies all the time or the blond tall one almost breaking everything he touched.
So it wasn't a surprise when they successfully unlocked the last lock on the door and were able to step out, officially ending the game.
And that was that. At least that's what Yoongi thought as he made his way into the small backstage room to change his clothes and take his make-up off. Thank god this was his last shift, his feet were killing him.
After quickly changing into his normal street-wear and removing half of the makeup still remaining on his face, he heard a sudden click of the door.
"Man where is the toilet?" Came a familiar voice as he turned to- "AHHH WHAT THE FUCK IT'S FOLLOWING ME-!!"
Yoongi stared at the Hoseok guy baffled, turning all the way to fully face him. This however seemed to shut the taller up.
"Umm- everything okay?" Yoongi raised and eyebrow, throwing the makeup wipe away when he was done.
"Why are you so cute?" The stranger then mumbled to himself, seemingly shell shocked at Yoongis blank face.
"E-Excuse me?" Yoongi stuttered a bit flustered at the statement.
But Hoseok just ignored him as his hands suddenly went up to cover his face "Oh my god I made a complete fool out of myself in front of such a handsome guy"
"Oh ehm-" Yoongi could feel how the blood rushed up his neck and to the tips of his ears "I-It's alright, the sole purpose of it is to scare people-"
"OH no" Hoseoks hands now wandered to cover his mouth "I called you ugly"
This made Yoongi snort "Yeah and short" It was really hard for him to stay composed at Hoseoks facial expressions, especially as it looked like he was facing yet another crisis.
"But I meant it as a complement! Because I like short guys and-" His eyes wandered up and down Yoongis figure. His cheeks suddenly burning which caused Yoongis cheeks to do the same.
Overall it was a whole mess and Yoongi had no clue what to say or do next as they were just standing there, staring at each other while looking like a bunch of tomatoes.
"Well-" He coughed, his hand going up to scratch the back of his neck "It's alright- seriously. I didn't feel offended or anything." A lie. But oh well what wouldn't he do to make a cute guy feel less bad.
"Oh yeah okay" Hoseok seemed to snap out of it, his eyes averting to the ground "Do you know where I can find the toilet per chance?"
"Yeah! It's down the hall to the right" This whole interaction had gotten way too awkward for Yoongis liking and, even though he already missed part of the cute guys presence, he was rather glad Hoseok had left the room as quickly as he had entered.
'Enough flirting for this year' Yoongi thought to himself while packing up the rest of his stuff, ready to go home. It's not like he had actual luck when it came to romance.
"There you are Hobi! What took you so long?" Yoongi suddenly perked up at the voices coming from the end of the hallway right as he left the backstage room.
"Couldn't find the toilet" Yoongi stared at the back of Hoseoks head as him and one of the guys from earlier made their way to leave. The taller then sighed "I swear if I would've known there were super cute Zombie actors here I could've asked him out. But noooo I screw things up and make a fool out of myself instead."
Hoseok groaned, having no clue of the two eyes boring into the back of his head. Taehyung laughed, clapping Hoseoks back "I have no idea what you're talking about but okay-"
"Then you should"
They both stopped in their tracks at the unfamiliar voice coming from behind.
Yoongi had zero clue what he was doing, the words just fought their way out of his mouth. But there was no turning back as he saw the two boys turning around and making eye contact with him. More so him making eye contact with Hoseok to let him know he was talking to him.
"What?" Taehyung mumbled, not sure what was going on and why his friend suddenly seemed to freeze in place at this stranger talking to them.
'Shit shit shit shit'
"You should ask me out." Yoongi clarified, temporarily ignoring his burning cheeks or the possibility of him making an absolute fool out of himself. No way he was skipping on this opportunity.
"I seemed to have scared you a lot today so to make it up to you I'd like to pay for dinner."
Yoongi took a brave step forwards, his eyes on a shellshook Hoseok not wavering.
"Ehm-" Hoseok then coughed "Y-Yeah yes sure, that'd be great. When do you have time?"
"Right now?" Yoongi quirked and eyebrow- and that was maybe a bit because he was questioning his own bravery at that moment-
"Um-" Hoseoks gaze wandered to Taehyung who was now giving him and encouraging nod
"Sure, I have time" Hoseok smiled warmly as his eyes met Yoongis.
Look at them. Two guys staring at each other while looking like a bunch of tomatoes again.
