CHAPTER TWENTY EIGHT:

As the group made their way back to (Y/N)'s place, the evening's celebration continued.

Conversations and banter flowed among them, reflecting the easy camaraderie they shared. The warm glow of shared laughter and memories colored the atmosphere.

Inosuke's voice broke through the conversations, his tone grumbling as he complained about the weight of the plastic bags he carried in his hands.

Zenitsu, never one to miss an opportunity for banter, couldn't resist chiming in. "Maybe you shouldn't have bought so many drinks if you thought they were too heavy," he teased.

Tanjiro, ever the peacemaker, offered a helping hand. "Hey, I can carry some of the bags if you want."

Inosuke's response was swift, his pride taking the lead as he defended himself. "What? You think I can't handle a few bags? Don't belittle me, Monjiro. I could carry a hundred more of these bags if I wanted to."

Amidst the friendly banter and the laughter, Elias's curiosity found its way into the conversation.

He couldn't resist asking (Y/N) about Inosuke's boisterous nature. "(Y/N), is Inosuke always that... well, boisterous?"

With a knowing smile, (Y/N) responded, her tone affectionate as she described Inosuke's complex personality. "Oh, he's definitely hardheaded, but deep down, he's a secret softie."

Elias's nod of understanding seemed to acknowledge this insight into Inosuke's character.

But then, as if guided by a playful impulse, he added something unexpected to the conversation. "I like hardheads that are secret softies."

The statement caught (Y/N) by surprise, a hint of wonderment in her expression. Elias's words carried a touch of mystery, leaving room for interpretation.

As they continued on their journey, (Y/N)'s thoughts drifted momentarily to Elias's remark.

Could there be an underlying meaning to his words? Was he referring to someone specific?

However, the arrival at (Y/N)'s house marked the end of their walk and their conversation.

As the group arrived at (Y/N)'s house, a sense of comfort settled in, enhanced by the familiar surroundings and the shared moments of the evening.

"Nee-San knows we'll be hanging out here, and she'll be back around 10," she informed them. Her invitation was extended further as she added, "You guys can sleep over if you want."

The idea of a sleepover was met with excitement, and Tanjiro and Nezuko eagerly claimed the living room as their own.

"We dibs the living room." Tanjiro announced with Nezuko quickly backing him up by saying, "Hmm hmm!"

Elias's laughter echoed through the house, a reflection of his amusement at the enthusiastic antics of Tanjiro and Nezuko.

With a sense of camaraderie, he placed his bag filled with food in the kitchen, ready to contribute to the evening's feast.

As he began to unload an assortment of chips and sodas from his bag, (Y/N) followed him curiously. Her question about the drinks he had bought prompted Elias to respond with a playful shrug.

"They looked new, and I thought it'd be fun to taste them all," he explained, his tone light. "So, I grabbed a bunch of different flavors in bottled form."

(Y/N)'s curious gaze settled on one of the drinks Elias had brought, her intrigue evident in her expression. As she contemplated the assortment of beverages, she voiced her thoughts about the challenge ahead.

She turned to Elias, a playful smile on her lips. "There's no way we'll be able to finish all of these," she remarked, her tone lighthearted. "Especially after the feast we had at the restaurant earlier."

"Shush." Elias waved his hand dismissively, "Anything we can't finish, Inosuke can gobble up. Well be fineee."

With a mock serious tone, Elias clapped his hands together, shifting their focus to the task at hand.

His call to action was clear and direct, "(Y/N), enough dilly dallying," he teased, his tone lighthearted. "Help me get some plates and cups, and let's munch."

As the food was piled onto the plates and the array of drinks was arranged, Nezuko and Zenitsu watched hungrily, their anticipation evident in their expressions.

Tanjiro couldn't help but notice, and he addressed them with a knowing smile. "Hungry, you two?"

Nezuko and Zenitsu nodded in response, their hunger apparent and unapologetic. Inosuke, always one to add a touch of playful banter, chimed in with his characteristic flair.

"Their hunger never stops," he quipped.

Zenitsu snapped back at him, "As if you aren't a hungry boar yourself."

"Inosuke, be nice," Elias urged, his tone carrying a hint of authority. In response, Inosuke grumbled, his initial resistance giving way to obedience as he acquiesced to Elias's request.

(Y/N) chimed in, voicing the collective sentiment of feeling full after the restaurant feast. Her question about what to do next prompted Elias to take the lead.

"Well," he began, his eyes lighting up with a mischievous glint, "how about we play some games?"

Eagerly embracing Elias's suggestion, the group embarked on a night of games and fun. Board games kicked off the festivities, drawing them into competitive yet light-hearted interactions.

However, Inosuke's characteristic temperament led to a board-flipping incident, prompting a shift to card games instead.

The transition to card games brought a new dynamic to the group, as they engaged in games that fostered camaraderie and strategizing.

The shift from one activity to another showcased their adaptability and their willingness to make the most of the evening's entertainment.

Videogames added an element of excitement, as the group's interactions shifted from traditional games to the digital realm. Laughter, cheers, and playful taunts filled the air as they immersed themselves in virtual challenges.

As the night wore on, the transition to movie watching signaled a shift towards relaxation and a more laid-back atmosphere.

The sounds of their laughter and conversations echoed through the space, creating an atmosphere of shared enjoyment and togetherness.

However, the tranquility was momentarily interrupted by the sound of the doorbell ringing, introducing an element of surprise into the evening.

The sound of the doorbell ringing caught (Y/N)'s attention, prompting her to comment on the arrival of her sister.

"That's my Nee-San. Pause the movie, I'm going to meet her at the front door." she announced, making her way towards the front door.

However, as she reached the door, she was met with a surprising sight—Mitsuri had already let herself in, taking off her shoes.

"Hi Nee-San." (Y/N) greeted Mitsuri with a warm smile, their interaction filled with familiarity and affection.

"Hiyaa, baby sis!" Mitsuri's cheery smile brightened the atmosphere.

The noise and energy emanating from inside the house caught her attention. The two sisters began to make their way inside the house, continuing their conversation.

"(Y/N), are your friends here already?" Mitsuri asked, her tone filled with curiosity and warmth. In response, (Y/N) confirmed their presence, noting that they would likely be staying for the night.

Mitsuri's smile remained, her response reflecting her welcoming nature. "Oh, that's wonderful," she commented. "If they need any extra blankets or pillows, they can grab some from the spare room."

(Y/N)'s nod indicated her agreement to Mitsuri's suggestion of checking the rooms for extra blankets and pillows. "I'll go check, Nee-San."

With a brief smile, she began making her way toward the living room, ready to ensure that their friends would be comfortably settled for the night.

Meanwhile, Mitsuri's path led her to the kitchen, her footsteps guided by a thirst that had arisen after the graduation celebration.

As she entered the kitchen, her eyes fell upon the assortment of bottles left on the counter by Elias.

Curiosity piqued, she approached the drinks and examined them closely.

With a hint of mischief, Mitsuri voiced her thoughts to herself. "Hmm, these drinks look interesting," she mused, her tone suggestive of the mild intrigue she felt.

She couldn't help but notice the enticing appeal of the beverages, which carried a slight alcoholic content but promised a delightful taste.

"Five percent alcohol?" Mitsuri mumbled, "Not enough to tip anyone over, but they do look tasty."

In a playful skit, Mitsuri's gaze shifted left and right, her actions mirroring the motions of someone checking for potential witnesses.

A mischievous smile tugged at her lips as she reached out and discreetly grabbed one of the drinks, her fingers wrapping around the cool bottle.

Whistling innocently, she made her exit from the kitchen, a playful secret tucked away.

"Baby sis doesn't need to know~ They won't get drunk with just this— Hopefully they won't mind if I grab one."
