Chapter 34: Just FRIENDS.
~James’ POV
I don’t know why she’s crying that time. I just don’t know, but I hugged her. I hugged her tight. Is it just because I pity her or something? I don’t know. I don’t know how to comfort her. I can see the pain and sadness in her eyes. Ano bang nagawa ko sa kanya? nasaktan ko ba talaga sya ng sobra? I don’t know! I want to remember everything at this very moment! >____<
It’s already 10PM, hinatid ko na sya sa bahay nila. She’s tired. I can see it. Di na nya ako kinausap sa buong byahe pauwi. Nakatingin lang sya sa labas and she’s thinking too hard. I know her mind is occupied by things. By so many things. Kaya siguro sya ganyan.

“Fretz! Ikaw ba yan? Di ka manlang nagtetext, nag aalala na ako dito tapos----“ the guy trailed off. I think he saw me. I bet this is her brother?
“Kuya…” Fretzie
“Oh… James, ikaw pala kasama nya?” Kuya nya ulit.
“Uh. Good evening. Yep, I just asked her a favor to come with me at the mall.”
“Mall this late?” a girl’s voice from the back. I think it’s Tricia. The one who talked to me the other day.
“I’ll explain na lang bukas. Tutulog na ako. Pagod na ko. sige, salamat sa paghatid.” Sabi ni Fretzie with her blank face tapos pumasok na sya sa bahay nila.

When I got home… open parin ang ilaw sa living room namin. Bakit kaya?
When I entered the house, I saw the whole family. They’re all looking at me? What’s the problem? And wait… I saw…
Is that SAM???
Yung lalaki nung nasa cafeteria na tiningnan ako ng masama? Sya nga! Pero… what is he doing here? Don’t tell me…
HE’S MY BROTHER?
“James! Kanina ka pa iniintay ah! San ka ba galing?” Ate Lauren
“Uh. Nag mall lang ako.”
“MALL?! Delikado yun, alam mo ba?! sino kasama mo?” nagagalit na naman si Ate. Napaka protective e.
“Fretzie.” I said, then napatingin sa direksyon ko si Sam. Anong meron at sumama yung tingin nya nung binanggit ko ang pangalang Fretzie? hm…
Teka?! Bakit sya ang kapatid ko?!!! sya nga ba?! eh ang init ng dugo ko dyan eh!
“WAIT. Is he? Is he…” tanong ko
“Yes James. This is Sam. Your brother.” Mom answered.
OMYGOD. Brother?! Siya!?! Bakit siya?! Eh ang init at kumukulo ang dugo ko dyan! Pano ko naman nagging bandmate yan kung kinaiinisan ko yan?! Teka? Noon ba ay kinaiinisan ko na siya? Mainit din ba ulo ko sakanya noon? Aisssssh! Ang hirap naman talaga oh!!! >____<
“Nice to meet you, bro.” he said then nilabas nya yung kamay nya for shakehands.
“Nice to meet you too.” Then I shook his hands. Pero meron paring galit na namumuo sa pagitan namin. I can see the anger in his eyes. Anong problema nito sakin? >___<
Pupunta na dapat ako sa kwarto ko when my mom spoke.
“James. For the meantime, Sam will be sleeping at the guest room. Kasi aayusin yung room mo at magsasama kayo sa isang room.”
“WHAT?! One room?!!!” sigaw ko. nakakagulat. Ayoko nga kasama yan! Tsssch!
“Oo, you need to know each other. Kasi kayo ang magkalapit ang age.”
“Si Ate Yen ka age.” Sabi ko.
“Alangang sila magsama sa kwarto?” Mom
Tch! Edi no choice! ARGGGGGGGH >___________<
Be ready James. Nasa guest room pa naman sya ngayon eh.

Ilang oras na ang nakalipas, I’m in my room and I can’t sleep! Ang dami kong iniisip, iniisip ko kung bakit ganun na lang makaiyak si Fretzie kanina, pati kung bakit ang init ng ulo ko sa bago kong kapatid. Actually, di bago. Bagong kilala lang.

Bumaba ako to drink milk. Haha. I just want to drink milk right now, it can help sa pagtulog ko eh.
Okay, I’m a bit sleepy. Ang bilis ba? haha. Pinagod ko lang ang sarili kong bumaba ng kwarto. Eto nasa harap na ako ng kwarto ko ng may narinig akong boses.
“I heard you went out with her.”
O______O nagulat ako ah. He came out from nowhere.
“Oh, Sam ikaw pala.” Sabi ko but I didn’t smile or greet him nicely.
“What did you do?”
“Anong what did you do?”
“Kayo ni Fretzie. kanina.”
“Bakit? Kayo ba?” tanong ko. I just don’t know why is he being worried about? Protective naman ata nya?
“Don’t answer me a question.” Okay, I guess he’s hard to talk to. Masungit din pala siya.
“Eh why are you being protective? Are you his boyfriend?” okay, susungitan ko din sya. Aba. He’s being too nosy.
“I am not…”
“Di naman pala kayo----“
“But soon I am.” My jaw fell down and my eyes widened. Is this guy courting her? The Hell. >___<
“We didn’t do anyting overboard. I just get to know her.”
“Get to know her? Ha-ha. Are you being funny? Are you sure you want know her?”
“I don’t know what you’re talking about.” Yeah, I’m confused. Bwisit, ano bang pinagsasabi nitong taong to?
“Hm. If you want to know her, then stay away from the girlfriend of yours. The ‘girlfriend’. Cause you see, you’ll just hurt Fretzie. and I’m not allowing you to do that.” Then he left.
What is he talking about?! ‘girlfriend’? with the matching quotation marks pa ah. Pati? Bakit ko naman masasaktan si Fretzie? damn! I hate mind games! It’s puzzling me!!! >.< makatulog na nga! Baka antok lang to.
~Fretzie’s POV
Today’s Wednesday. And I hate this day. Kasi kaklase ko buong araw si James at Sam. Ugh. I hate it. >___<
Ano na lang ang gagawin kong pagbati dun? Ang awkward naman oh! Buti na lang hindi alphabetically arranged ang Trigo. Kundi… I’ll die. Malapit si Sam sakin nun.
I entered my room. Maaga ata ako ngayon. Di kasi ako masyadong nakatulog kagabi. My mind is occupied by so many things. Umupo ako sa dulo, para makapag isip isip. Tumabi din ako sa may window to see the outside. Ilang minuto pa, marami na rin ang dumating. Then dumating na si Sam. He didn’t even looked at me. And malayo pa ang inupuan nya. ohgod. What’s happening? :(
Mababawasan na ba ako ng kaibigan? Wag naman po! Sana di naman galit sakin si Sam. TT___TT I’m feeling guilty. Magsosorry nga ako sakanya mamaya. Pero… pag nagsorry ako, sasabihin nya naman… di ko tanggap yung feelings nya for me. AISH. Bakit ba kasi nauso ang love life huh? I don’t know either.
Ano ba yan! I’m getting crazy! I mean crazier! I’m answering my own question. Now, I’m an idiot, too. Like James. >__<
Speaking of James… kasabay pala siya ni Sam dumating. Weh? Ay!!! OMYGULAY. Magkapatid nga pala sila!!! Damn. Di rin sya tumabi sakin at hindi nya rin ako tiningnan. What’s wrong with these guys?! Weird!!! Kasama ko lang silang dalawa kahapon ah! Oh… hayaan ko na munang ganyan para makapag isip isip ako ng ayos…
Dumating na nga pala yung professor. But I’m not in the mood to listen. Sorry. But promise, if I solved my own problem, I’ll solve these Trigo problems, haha. I love Math naman eh, maybe it will be easy for me to cope up.
Unang tanong sa isipan ko. anong isasagot ko kay Sam? No, hindi naman tanong yung sinabi nya eh. Kaya ano na lang ang sasabihin ko sakanya?

Malamang, iisa nanay nila. Duh?
Pangatlong tanong at ito na rin ata ang huli? Bakit ko minahal si JAMES?! Oo, sabi ko… totoo na talaga yung pinagsasabi ko sa utak ko kagabi, hindi lang dahil nakainom ako ng wine. Duh? It’s so light to be drunk. And I know… for real… mahal ko na sya. BAKIT NGA BA?!

After Trigo… oo, natapos ang Trigo ng hindi ko namamalayan. I’m so not in myself. Ano na ang gagawin ko ngayon? Kung iwasan ko kaya muna sila? Oo! Tutal iniiwasan din naman nila ako eh. Yeah yeah. That’s right :D

Napatalon ako sa gulat nung may umakbay sakin.
“Trish. Don’t do that again. Ginugulat mo ako.”
“I’m sorry Fretz. Haha. where ya goin?”
“Ah… don’t know. Break ko eh. Ikaw ba?”
“Hm… class? May make up class ako ngayon eh with Ann.”
“Oh? Nasan si Ann?”
“With Ivan, as usual.” Then she bowed her head. *sigh* is she hurting? Yeah, I noticed noon pa, na Tricia likes Ivan. And I noticed na nasaktan sya nung nagging si Ann at Ivan. Tch. Matagal na kaming magkakilala ni Tricia, kaya alam ko na ang ugali nang babaeng yan, kahit magtago pa siya sakin.
“Sige Fretz. Una na ako. Bye bye!” then she waved. I smiled back.
Now… where in the world am I going?
“HEY!!”
Kanina pa may nangugulat sakin ah!!! But this time it’s a guy’s voice! Who the hell is---
“James?!”
“Hi.” Then he winked at me. Oh no James, stop that pacute mo! I might fall for you. No, scratch that because I already did. :(
“What are you doing here?”
“Uh… ikaw lang ba ang pwedeng maglakad sa hallway?” ok.. barado ako dun, pahiya. T__T
“Just kidding!!! Hahaha.” Tapos inakbayan nya ako. James… stop. Stop! You can’t catch the falling Fretzie this time. :((((
“Where ya going? Can you accompany me? I don’t have friends eh…” sabi nya.
“Meron ah.”
“Yeah right, but… I don’t remember them. And I’m comfortable being with you. I don’t know why… aren’t we friends before?”
“we’re not.” Sagot ko still not looking at him. nakaakbay parin kasi sya sakin. and it’s a little awkward. No, it’s really awkward!
“Eh? Okay… but, can we be friends now?”
Big no! ayokong maging kaibigan ka!! Teka? Bakit nga pala? Eh kasi… mahal na kita. TT___TT
“I… okay.”
“Wow! May friend na ako matapos kong mawalan ng memory! How lucky!” tuwang tuwa pa siya oh. Eh ako? Hell no! I’m not happy being his friend! >___<
“Yeah, right.” I said, pero no happiness in the tone of my voice. I’m just keeping my head down.
“No… left! Hahaha. You influenced me a lot. Lalo na sa pagsusungit! Haha.” okay. Ang lakas ng trip nya. >___<
“Gaya gaya!” I teased.
“That’s what friends for. To influence. Hahahaha.”
Yeah, he laughed. FRIEND? I HATE THAT WORD. Lalo na kung FRIEND LANG ako ni James… TT___TT I’m being dramatic.
