[Cut to Y/n, unconscious in the shared bedroom and covered in healing glyphs. Yonaka is placed near. Luz and King are by his side. Eda enters the room after talking to some Healing Coven members.]
Eda: Ok, the Healing Coven people said he'll be fine, He's just unconscious from the blood loss and injuries he's sustained.
Luz: What did he go through to get these injuries?
Eda: Wel... I believe the answers lie within this. [She pulls out the diary.]
Luz: This must be the book Y/n got from the library...
[Just then, a knock on the door occurs. Amity, Willow, Gus, Emira, and Edric pop up. Their heads are stacked atop one another as they peek through the door.]
Amity: Can we uh... check-in?
Luz: Sure.
[Everyone goes inside the room to check on Y/n.]
Edric: What happened to the guy?
King: We were about to find out in this book he had.
Amity: The diary?
Luz: You know about it?
Amity: I kind of helped him get it, but I didn't know what was it about.
Gus: Then how about we actually read it and stop stalling?
Eda: Yeah yeah yeah, I'm on it... huh? [She pulls out the poem from the Diary.]
[All of them read the poem and put two and two together, realizing Y/n went into a dangerous temple that held a trial.]
Willow: What kind of demons has he faced in there?
Eda: I don't know. For all I know, he did all of that for that sword right there [She points to Yonaka. All of them stare in awe.]
Edric: Woah! I wonder if I could... [He tries to touch it but a small black aura lashes out that scares Edric and makes him jump back.] Gah! Ok never mind. Looks like the sword is tied to Y/n, literally.
Emira: Shhh! You might wake him up.
Edric: You shush.
Amity: Quit it you two.
Eda: Alright, everyone out. Y/n will recover so don't get too worked up. You guys should go back home.
Gus: Are you sure?
Willow: We could help if you'd like.
Eda: We can manage to take care of him on our own, now go.
[Everyone leaves.]
Luz: [With a warm smile.] Eda... you're secretly relieved that Y/n is still alive, aren't you?
Eda: [She turns around and reveals that she was holding back tears.] Alright fine! Yes! I am! That boy made me scared half to death. [Sniffs.] But at least he is safe now.
Luz: Yeah, but I bet after he's recovered, he's gonna train again.
King: Don't worry, I always accompany him during his training. I'll look over him. That's a promise.
[Luz smiles and hugs King. The three of them decide to let Y/n rest for now. Cut to the next day, it's morning. Y/n finally wakes up after a good long sleep. He feels slightly better and is able to stand. Just as he was about to stand, Luz and King open the door.]
Luz: Y/n?
Y/n: Oh. Hey guys!
Luz and King: Y/n! [They run up and hug him tightly]
Y/n: Ack! Miss you guys too. How long was I out for?
King: For about a day.
Y/n: Dang. Uhm... look, I'm sorry if I made you guys worried.
Luz: That doesn't matter, All we care about is that you are ok now. [Hugs him tightly with King.]
Y/n: Hehe, alright. [Embraces the hug.]
King: How about we all go downstairs and eat some breakfast?
Y/n: Actually, I'd love to but... I got to take a shower.
Luz: [She breathes then gags.] Augh! You're right. You do need a shower, and make it a long one [Hands him a nearby towel, bandages, and some healing glyphs.] Make sure to change your bandages.
Y/n: [As he leaves.] I will.
[Y/n takes and enjoys a long shower to clean off some blood. He looks at his body and sees scars left by the scratch marks. He thinks it looks "cool". He also realizes he's gotten... leaner? Guess he didn't notice. Cut to Y/n entering the kitchen, he's only wearing shorts, a shirt, and a short-sleeved zip-up hoodie. His body is covered in bandages and healing glyphs. He sees Luz, Eda, and King.]
Eda: [She pats his head] Hey kiddo, how are ya?
Y/n: Feeling better. And look, sorry if I made you worried... but hey, I didn't die right? [He has a nervous smile.]
Eda: Don't worry about it. I'm just glad you made it back alive.
Y/n: Hehe, yeah.
King: So what happened?
Y/n: Oh yeah, I guess you guys want an explanation on my "quest". Hmmm... Alright, let's do this one last time. [Y/n goes on to tell the three of "Dracule's Trial". How he spent hours exploring an ancient temple, fighting over 200+ demons, and had to duel with a sword spirit.] And uh yeah, that's where I've been.
[The three of them are silent and stare at Y/n with shock and concern until Luz breaks the silence.]
Luz: YOU'VE BEEN IN THAT TEMPLE FOR OVER 24 HOURS!?
Y/n: Pretty much. But I'm fine now, and that's what matters right?
Eda: Yeah, I guess you're right.
Y/n: Alright, now I'm starving. What's for breakfast?
Eda: Yeah yeah, breakfast is on its way... [She goes to finish preparing breakfast.]
Luz: [Nudges Y/n's shoulder.] Welcome back. [She smiles.]
Y/n: Yeah, glad to be back. [King jumps onto his lap and sits with them.]
[Cut to later, Luz is preparing to go to Hexside.]
Y/n: Now are you sure I can't come with you?
Luz: Nope. You have to rest or do whatever you need to do to recover. You can be my bodyguard again tomorrow.
Y/n: [Shrugs his shoulders.] Alright.
Luz: See ya guys later! [Kisses King on his forehead and leaves.]
King: ...
Y/n: ...
King: You're gonna start training, aren't you?
Y/n: [Sighs.] Yeah.
King: Don't worry, we can go back to our usual routine of me lecturing you about demons while you train.
Y/n: [He chuckles.] You missed those times, didn't you?
King: Yeah.
Y/n: Well then let's go. [He first goes upstairs to get Yonaka, and goes outside with King.]
[Cut to Luz in Hexside. Principal Bump is walking in the hallway]
Principal Bump: Hmm... things seem quiet, too quiet. [Just then Luz accidentally bumps into him.]
Luz: Oof. Whoops, sorry Principal Bump.
Principal Bump: It's quite alright. Say, where's your bodyguard?
Luz: Oh Y/n? He had an incident and I told him to take a break for today. Oh and uh... during that "incident", his cloak got destroyed... Can he still accompany me?
Principal Bump: I see, well sadly we don't have the materials to repair it but he may still roam these halls as your bodyguard. You may continue on. [He leaves.]
[Luz continues to walk to the next class. Cut to later at lunch. Luz is sitting with Amity, Willow, and Gus.]
Amity: Have you started your research on how to make a portal to the human realm?
Luz: N-Not yet, I'm still occupied with stuff hehe.
Amity: I see. So... How's Y/n?
Luz: He's doing fine actually, he just woke up today and he seems to have recovered a bit.
Gus: That's good, I've been preparing a welcome back gift for when he returns [He summons magic words that say "Welcome back".]
Willow: I even picked out some plants that could freshen up the room. This will definitely help him from smelling like demon guts.
Amity: I see. What did Y/n go through to get into that state?
Luz: Well I have the answer to that question. So let me explain... [She goes on to tell the three of what happened to Y/n and how he went through "Dracule's Trial". How he spent hours exploring an ancient temple, fighting over 200+ demons, and had to duel with a sword spirit.] I think that's all he said.
Gus: Over 200 demons!?
Willow: Ancient temple!?
Amity: Sword spirit!?
Luz: Eda, King, and I were shocked as were you three.
Amity: Wow, I can't believe Y/n has gone through all that with no magic. He must be working hard to get strong.
Luz: I mean he said he did use some glyphs but he ran out and used only his sword. He really is doing his best to become a great swordsman.
Gus: And you too! You've discovered all sorts of glyphs in our adventures. And I'm sure you'll be able to find some clues on how to make a portal.
Luz: [She smiles.] Yeah, thanks. [Luz notices that there seem to be new faces around the cafeteria.] Hey, did the students of Hexside multiply or am I seeing things?
Amity: Oh, right. Well, more and more students decided to switch to Hexside since they heard that you can have multiple tracks here. [Cut to seeing new students in the cafeteria doing random stuff.]
Luz: Ooh, I see that my idea of multiple tracks has caught on.
Amity: [Chuckles.] Yes, I guess it has.
[Cut back to The Owl House. Y/n is training while listening to King.]
King: So, was my demon knowledge useful in the temple?
Y/n: Extremely helpful. All those demons you told me about, their weaknesses, their habitats. All of it was useful and I'm glad you taught me. Thank you.
King: [He seems very cheerful.] You're welcome! I'm glad you still take an interest in our lessons.
Y/n: [He continues practicing his swings with Yonaka. The sword seems heavy when he first held it but now it seems to have gotten lighter?] That's strange...
King: So, what can that sword do exactly?
Y/n: I'm trying to find out myself... Wait... [He remembers a line from the poem "Its swing could part mountains, its strikes would astound". Could it mean that it has a ranged ability? Y/n then gasps and tries to figure out if he could do an "Air Slash" just like in the animes/mangas he watches/reads.] Maybe I can try and harness it, and if I'm correct then... [Y/n then tries to focus as much as he can. He swings and a gust of wind pushes dust, dirt, broken dummy parts, and other stuff that seemed lightweight.]
King: Was that it?
Y/n: Not quite... Hang on let me try and figure it out again. [He continues to swing his sword. Cut to 30 mins later.] Now hang on wait, I'm starting to think of something. [He grips the handle of Yonaka and closes his eyes.]
King: Hmm... You said it was a knight before right? Then it turned into a sword. How about you try and talk to it?
Y/n: I was just about to do that hang on. [He focuses more and senses its presence. He sees a memory of the swordsman through the eyes of the sword (3rd person view). He sees how the swordsman does the "Air Slash" technique. He opens his eyes and his pupils become permanently green.]
King: Y/n? Did you figure it out?
Y/n: Yes, I have. [He grips his sword tightly and relaxes all his nerves. Allowing/Accepting a black aura to course through his veins. This dark power is something unique. He realizes that he shares a bond with Yonaka and now knows he should become "One with the blade".]
Y/n: [In an altered version of his voice] 𝐍𝐨𝐰... 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐛𝐚𝐜𝐤. [He does a horizontal slash at some trees.]
[The black slash, outlined with green aura, cuts through the trees with ease as some of them fly into the air. The trees crash to the ground.]
Y/n, King, and Hooty: WOAH!!!
[Eda and Lilith hear the crashing noises outside and rush out.]
Eda: What's going on? Y/n? King? Are you two okay?
King: We're fine, but look at what Y/n did! [He excitedly points to some trees that have been cut down by Y/n's slash.]
Lilith: Fallen trees?
King: What? No! Ugh! Y/n quick do it again!
Y/n: I'll try... [He focuses again and begins to start getting the hang out of it, his pupils glow green and he does another vertical slash. Another black slash appears and cuts down another patch of trees.] YES!
[Eda and Lilith are in shock and awe.]
Lilith: Amazing! I must know the process of how you managed to do such a thing.
Eda: Yeah, looks like this sword has some special powers.
Y/n: Well I think it goes like this. Since I have no magic, the "power" of Yonaka can easily surge through my body. I've managed to make a spiritual bond with the sword, allowing me access to Yonaka's memories of the Swordsman (Dracule). Making it possible for me to harness the abilities and techniques that the past swordsman has used before.
Lilith: Like some connection to the past!
Y/n: I think so. I guess that trial was worth it. [He smiles in excitement.]
[Eda then smiles as she sees Y/n's happy face along with King.]
King: [He notices Y/n's pupils are now green] Woah, Y/n, are your eyes ok?
Y/n: Huh? What do you mean?
[King rushes in and out of the house and gives Y/n a mirror.]
Y/n: Woah! I guess this is the effect of the bond.
Eda: Does it hurt?
Y/n: No, it doesn't. I think this is harmless.
Eda: If you say so.
[Cut to Luz arriving back from school. She enters the living room]
Luz: Hey uh... Guys? Why are there fallen trees nearby?
King: [He adorably runs and hugs Luz's leg] Y/n discovered something he could do! Come on we'll show you!
Luz: Wah, okay. [She laughs.]
[King gestures to Y/n to get Yonaka.]
Y/n: Alright alright, I'm coming. [He takes this as an opportunity to practice the skill more.]
[Cut to outside. Luz, King, and Hooty are eager to watch Y/n.]
Luz: Alright, let's see what "Yonaka" can do.
Y/n: Hehe, you won't be disappointed. [He focuses again and his green eyes glow. a black aura surrounds Yonaka as Y/n is about to slash. He does a vertical slash and slices a boulder in half.] HAHA!
Luz: [Gasps] THAT IS AWESOME!!! But how?
Y/n: It's the sword, I can harness its power since I have no magic. It also allows me to see memories of the past Swordsman. So I'm excited to find out what more can this sword do.
Luz: I guess that sword was worth it.
Y/n: Hell yeah it is!
[They cheer and Eda looks out the window and smiles at the sight of them.]
