The X-Mansion
Xavier's school for gifted youngsters

Some of the X-men were sitting in the living room while the television in the background was broadcasting breaking news about what just occured in New York, painting Wanda as the bad guy.

(To understand how the X-men are now in the MCU, read Avengers Incursion War for context.)

The tv was suddenly turned off by Pietro who was visibly angry.

One of Wanda's children, Tommy, looked at him with concern.

Tommy: Uncle P? Is mom going to be okay?

Professor X: Don't worry about your mom, kid. She's stronger than you think. And we'll do everything we can to keep her safe.

Pietro (Quicksilver): It doesn't help that these... stupid humans always try to make her the bad guy! None of this would've happened if they just left her alone!

Cyclops: She destroyed four cop cars and a WHIH helicopter.

Pietro (Quicksilver): She said it wasn't her.

Cyclops: Yeah. It sounds like Transia all over again, doesn't it?

Pietro (Quicksilver): Don't you dare mention Transia.

Storm: This world will never accept us mutants. No world will. After today It's only a matter of time before they hate us all over again.

Professor X: Have faith. I think things will turn out for the better, but for her... That's a different story. We have to protect her. By all means.

Jean Grey: You think she'll end up like I have. Is that what you're trying to say?

Professor X: Humans' disdain for mutant kind is just a small part in their fear of Wanda. She's arguably one of the most powerful beings in the entire multiverse... And considering what she's done, and that she's still a suspect to many regarding the incident at Transia... From an outside point of view... It will take something extraordinary to make them accept her. She needs our support. And frankly, yes, Jean, we cannot let this turn into another Dark Phoenix situation.

(*Read The Midnight Suns Chapter 6: Finale, for clues about what could've happened at Transia*)

Jean Grey: But we know she couldn't possibly have done it... could she?

Professor X: At Transia? No. We've been over this. Considering the state she was in after what happened... It wasn't her... It can't be.

Chills ran down his body just thinking about what he saw. He was in disbelief that Wanda would do something like that.

Professor X: It can't possibly be her... It just can't. I refuse to even think of that possibility.

Cyclops: But if today is any indication--

Professor X: You know as well as I do that what happened at Transia far outweighs today. It's not the same.

Pietro (Quicksilver): I can't believe the cops pulled their guns out on her! And SHOT HER! The freaking cops! We need to find her, now!

Professor X: Don't worry about that. Erik (Magneto) is already on it.

The Statue of Liberty

While Wanda sat on the statue, using her power to mend her broken arm, Magneto (Erik) and her son, Billy, arrived in order to persuade her to come to the mansion. She looked up to see her father and her son floating in mid-air.

Wanda: Father?

Magneto: Daughter... Your arm.

Wanda: It'll be fine. It just... It takes a toll to heal something.

She replied with a coarse, husky voice barely above a whisper.

Erik took her hand and embraced her in his arms.

Wanda: I don't know what to do. (Sniffles) Everything is a mess.

Magneto: Come with us, daughter.

Wanda: To where?

Billy: Please mom. We're worried.

She tried to stay strong in front of her son.

Wanda: Oh Billy. You don't have to worry about me. I was just figuring some stuff out, okay? But I'm fine now, really.

She rubbed his hair.

Billy: Moooom that's embarrassing. I'm 13!

Wanda: Sorry. Sometimes I forget how quickly you've grown.

Magneto: You have to come with us.

Wanda: What happens now?

She referred to the wedding that was supposed to happen today.

Magneto: We got it handled. But you have to hurry if you still plan on making it before time runs out.

Billy nodded his head in agreement as Wanda looked at him.

(To understand how Wanda knows Magneto is her father, read "Avengers Incursion War" for context)

The X-Mansion

Some time later, Magneto arrived with Wanda and she was immediately embraced by Pietro. However, most of the mutants were not there anymore.

Pietro (Quicksilver): I'm glad you're here, sis.

Charles Xavier wheeled towards her with his chair.

Professor X: Ms. Maximoff. Glad you decided to come. There is still some time left before the ceremony. Everything you need is in the fourth room down the hall upstairs.

Wanda looked at Charles.

Wanda: Wait, you all know?

Professor X: Due to the events that occured today, Vision reached out to us in concern, so we decided to get everything ready for you here while you were out. To spare you the trouble.

Wanda: Oh... well... I don't... think it'll happen today.

Billy: Oh they already--

Pietro closed Billy's mouth with his hand and glared at him.

Pietro: It will happen. We will make sure it happens if it's the last thing we do.

Wanda: But they'll be looking for me now.

Pietro: It was an accident. Legally they can't prove you did it.

Wanda: I didn't... It wasn't... me.

Pietro grabbed her shoulders and led her to the room upstairs.

Pietro: Forget about what happened. Nobody was hurt.

Wanda: But... what about the--

Pietro: Everything you need is inside. Just open the door. You'll see.

Wanda opened up the door and her eyes were immediately wide open, showing a sincere sense of gratitude and happiness when she saw the beautiful white dress hanging on the closet door. She gasped while her hands covered her mouth in shock. An unshed tear glimmered in the corner of her eye.

Wanda: Pietro...

Pietro: I know you said you didn't need to get one, since, you know... your powers and all, but I wanted to do this for you. We all had an input. Me, Billy, Tommy... even Peter.

She smiled with a profound gratitude and love, her lips were quivering faintly. She knew how expensive it must've been to make it.

Wanda: What about... How could you afford this?

She walked towards the dress and touched it to feel the fabric.

Pietro: That's not important to me. What matters is your happiness. You're my only twin sister. If I make you happy, I'm happy. I feel like I owe this to you.

Pietro felt a misplaced guilt over the fact that he's not been there for her all these years. If he never ran in front of those bullets, she would maybe not have gone down the road of despair and grief which hurt others along with her. He would've been in her life.

Pietro: I'm sorry I abandoned you. I guess I want to make up for all those years--

She embraced him with compassion and shared emotion.

Wanda: Pietro... You did the right thing. You saved Clint's life.
(Referencing the event where Pietro sacrificed himself to save Hawkeye in Avengers: Age of Ultron)

Pietro: I know, but in turn it made yours so miserable that it almost caused the end of your life too. And it caused the lives of so many others. I just can't stop thinking, you know... About what could've been if I didn't die that day.

Wanda: I've thought about that an unhealthy amount of times over the years. But you know what, it's water under the bridge. What matters is that you're here now.

Pietro: I guess you're right.

They both stared at each other in silence with an unspoken bond filled with love for one another.

Pietro: ... I should... probably leave. Don't wanna make you even more late to your own wedding.

He walked out of the room and closed the door. Leaving Wanda alone to get ready. She looked around and felt a fluttering feeling in her chest. Like butterflies with a touch of nausea. The time is almost here. The day she thought would never come. The day she dreamed about for years. She could feel her heart pounding in her chest in anticipation of the big day. The big day that finally arrived after SO many years. So many years of pain. She exhaled slowly and touched the fabric of the dress once again, in awe at the hard work and care put into making it with such detail.

She opened the bathroom door inside the room. To her surprise, the bathroom was adorned with the soft glow of crimson candles everywhere, creating an intimate sanctuary. As Wanda entered, a gentle aroma enveloped her, a delicate blend that filled the air with a sense of comfort.

On top of the shelf, a towel was perfectly folded, with a bar of soap, shampoo and the best skincare products on top, with a letter from Vision.

These ordinary utilities symbolized more than what they are normally used for. They were tokens of consideration, gestures of love orchestrated to weave an atmosphere of peace and tranquility around her. The room itself had become a reflection of the profound connection she shared with Vision and the family that surrounded her.

She picked up the letter, its edges crisp beneath her fingertips. As she unfolded it, the sweet scent of the candles mingled with the ink on the page, creating an olfactory tapestry of affection.

"Take all the time you need. Savor the moment. I'll wait. I'll wait forever for you.

With love, V."

Closing her eyes, Wanda took a deep breath, allowing the love imbued in every detail to wash over her. It was a moment of quiet gratitude, a pause before the crescendo of emotions that awaited her in the imminent celebration. She felt the weight of the past lift, replaced by the promise of a future filled with love and acceptance.

As the candles continued their rhythmic dance, Wanda, with the letter clutched against her heart, felt a profound sense of belonging. The room had become a sanctuary, a haven where the scars of the past could heal, and the echoes of love could reverberate through the chambers of her soul.

Her heart fluttered after reading the letter. Vision knew her so well. With the room wrapped in an embrace of emotions, Wanda whispered a silent acknowledgment, while kissing the letter.

Wanda: Thank you, Vis.

Wanda embraced the solitude, closing her eyes and shutting out the world beyond the borders of this room. Yet, an unsettling foreboding lingered within, a quiet whisper of unease she couldn't quite decipher. She felt scared of something, without knowing why. But for now, just for these fleeting hours, she willed those thoughts into temporary submission.

She looked in the mirror and saw herself in her "Scarlet Witch" attire. The attire representing something completely different than what was intended. It was supposed to be a symbol of hope, now seen as a symbol of fear. She looked at herself in the attire with a sadness unable to be explained. No matter how deep she gazed, she could not find herself within. She saw someone else. Something else.

Her thoughts ran wild, trying to put herself in the shoes of everyone else as she looked at The Scarlet Witch in the mirror. Is this how the masses perceive her? Some sort of powerful and dangerous... goddess? Unstable and uncontainable? A being beyond human? A monster? She questioned her own identity, as if to ask herself why. Why go through all this trouble? Why wear this ridiculous attire and waste away her life? Why be something she never wanted in the first place? She whispered at her reflection with disappointment in her eyes.

Wanda: Who... are you?

She sighed with a deep feeling of desolation and a touch of impostor syndrome, gently removing her Scarlet Witch headpiece from her head and putting it down on the counter. She looked at it for a while, sighed, looked back in the mirror and slowly began undressing.

An array of feelings washed over her as she slowly removed the attire. It was a raw, intimate moment. Slowly removing her clothes felt like shedding external layers of herself. Piece by piece, revealing her complete and truest self. The true person beneath the persona. Each garment she removed, carried a weight of emotions that ebbed and flowed with each part of her clothing being discarded and thrown on the floor beneath her bare feet. She looked vulnerable and tired, the corner of her lips facing down, rubbing her arms, with her shoulders slouching forward.

Finally, after the very last piece of undergarment fell on the floor, she looked in the mirror once again in a soft gaze, almost on the verge of tears.

This time she didn't see The Scarlet Witch, but a vulnerable human being. Completely stripped bare from the weight The Scarlet Witch carries. Her truest most fragile self.

Completely exposed.

Completely Vulnerable.

Completely Human.

Herself.

Looking at her reflection in the mirror during these two contrasting moments, was a profound distinction unfolding between that of The Scarlet Witch and Wanda Maximoff.

What the world saw, and what she saw. Not this powerful, mystical being seen through the eyes of the world, but the genuine, sincere vulnerability that truly defined Wanda.

With her hands trembling slightly, she embarked on a gentle exploration of herself. Seeking solace in the raw reality of her being. Her fingertips gently tracing the contours of her face, a slow journey down her neck, unwavering contact as they moved to her shoulders, arms, chest and further down, stopping just below her abdomen.

She took shallow, tender breaths as she grounded herself. Tracing her fingers over her body with a gentle touch. Laying bare the many layers of her identity as she echoed an unspoken prayer for acceptance, a plea for understanding, as if her own caress could bridge the gap between the world's perception and the vulnerable truth within.

A single tear fell down her cheeks, her lower lip quivering slightly. A silent emissary of unspoken troubles within her soul.

Wanda cast her gaze at many wounds that were all over her body. Noticing the remnants of the toll her mortal body endured in just a few hours. Bumps, bruises, a half-broken arm, a half-healed bullet wound, scratch marks everywhere...

Her power was weakening, and she had no idea why. As her fingers delicately brushed over the marks, it revealed the vulnerability hidden beneath. A vulnerability unseen by the eyes of the world.

Downstairs, Pietro took Billy along with him to the kitchen so that Erik could have a discussion with Charles about Wanda, while the television was broadcasting an active debate regarding her between Christine Everhart and Will Adams.

- Christine Everhart and Will Adams

Erik (Magneto): Charles. You've been awfully quiet about all this.

Professor X: What is there to say? It happened. We can't undo it.

Erik (Magneto): What are we going to do about it now?

Professor X: I don't know, my friend. Let's just see how it plays out first.

Erik (Magneto): How can we know for certain that it wasn't her? She might think it wasn't her, but her power is known to spontaneously do things without her knowing.

Professor X: That's true. And that's why we will have to keep an eye on her.

Erik (Magneto): As if that's not what we've been doing for the past year.

Professor X: I mean really keep an eye on her. Wether or not she or any of you wants to admit it, she is a danger to humanity.

Erik (Magneto): Aren't we all? Charles, you could explode the minds of every person on the planet if you concentrate hard enough. I can manipulate the very magnetic field of Earth and take humanity right back to the stone age. Even Scott (Cyclops) could level an entire city. Thor alone has the power to destroy continents.

Professor X: Yes, that's all true, but we have self control. Her power is different. She's not just a mutant. Something extremely powerful exists within her. Something... Primordial.

Erik (Magneto): (Sighs) Just like Jean.

Professor X: With her already powerful mutant abilities, I'm afraid she has surpassed what we would consider an Omega level Mutant. A human mind could never control such power. And if we're not careful with Wanda, that power might end up controlling her.

Erik (Magneto): Like a parasite...

Upstairs in one of the many bathrooms in the mansion, Wanda looked back up in the mirror, staring into her own eyes, searching for solace within.

Wanda: (Sighs)

In a whispered breath, she acknowledged her humanity and the fragility of her own body, as she felt the tenderness of the bruises beneath her touch. A subtle, raw energy emitted from her fingertips, a gentle manifestation of her powers. With each touch, she attempted to heal her wounds, to mend the visible injuries, but there was an undeniable hint of exhaustion in her eyes. It was slowly beginning to take a toll on her health. The toll of using her abilities to mend her injuries became heavier every day, mirroring the emotional strains she carried.

The person she saw in the mirror, staring back at her, was not the person the rest of the world perceived, her truest most delicate self, being on display for only her own eyes to see. Someone the world doesn't know.

Perhaps someone the world doesn't deserve to know.

This very vulnerable, tender, private moment was a reminder that she wasn't this all powerful, untouchable goddess that the world believes her to be, but a human being with both a fragile body and a heart of gold, susceptible to the same hurts as anyone else. Another solitary tear escaped her eye.

With a heartfelt, deep sense of introspection, she finally entered the shower, allowing the steaming water to cleanse not just her body but also the weight of the world pressing on her shoulders. All her troubles washing away momentarily as she closed her eyes, allowing the water to fall on her face and shutting out the world beyond the shower's embrace, while the active debate about her continued on in the news.

(The debate on the news will be cut up and spread throughout the shower sequence to show that it is happening at the same time.)

"Will Adams: Look I understand your point of view, but we can't even prove the validity of those texts. There is no way of knowing wether they are true or not."

"Christine Everhart: They are 100% authentic, ancient prophecies, and The Scarlet Witch's very name is written inside of it."

"Will Adams: She saved hundreds of people today. More than she's saved even when she was an Avenger."

In the shower, oblivious to the entire debate, Wanda drifted away into her own world as the water droplets kissed her skin with whispers of encouragement, mingling with tears she hadn't even realized were there.

Each droplet seemed to carry away a piece of worry, a fragment of doubt, leaving her feeling lighter with every passing moment. Completely forgetting about the world outside.

"Christine Everhart: Are we forgetting what just happened today? She almost killed 8 cops, along with some of our own crew members. What about the fact that just a few years ago, she took control of an entire town, destroyed Kamar Taj, and almost caused the annihilation of our entire universe? Even saying it out loud makes it sound absurd that she's still not locked up in the Raft."

"Will Adams: There was already a consensus made about those events. It goes deeper than that. And if you don't recall, she saved the world from another Thanos level invasion. And regarding today, the police never should've opened fire on her, when she was clearly seen complying with their orders. They were completely in the wrong. For all we know, that shot triggered something in her that accidentally caused those explosions, the same way Westview happened."

Wanda was lost in thought, a million things going through her head all at once. Why does she still feel so low? Isn't she about to have everything she ever longed for? The thoughts plagued her every day. Every day they were becoming harder to ignore, but right now, nothing compared to the thought of walking down that aisle, wearing that beautiful dress.

"Christine Everhart: What happens if there is another Westview incident, but on a global scale? What if, one day she just decides to end us all? What will we do about it?"

"Will Adams: Let's say for example, as a parent yourself, your child was in danger, and you knew Wanda Maximoff could save them without a second thought, but the authorities took that power away from her by locking her up."

"Christine Everhart: You can't possibly be serious about this."

In Wanda's temporary sanctuary, she allowed herself to savor the serenity of the shower. It was more than a simple shower. Her fingers traced patterns on her skin, a silent ritual of cleansing not just her body, but also the weight of expectations and judgments of the world that clung to her. The blend of emotions within her was subtle yet profound. The sadness was gone. What remained was a mix of excitement, nervousness, and a quiet determination.

The scent of the soap and shampoo provided a familiar anchor, grounding her in the present, in this moment of solitude before the pivotal event awaiting her. The bathroom that was illuminated by the warm glow of red candles, became a sanctuary of quiet anticipation.

"Christine Everhart: Let me ask you another question, how do you explain what happened in Transia? It doesn't look like it's bothering her at all. It's as if she completely ignores that night altogether."

"Will Adams: I think by now we are all aware of the Transia tragedy, but it's been a year already, with no evidence to suggest that she was responsible. I'd say she's been nothing short of a hero since then."

"Christine Everhart: And why do you think that is? She could be compensating for all we know. If she's innocent, why hasn't she come out to tell us what she saw?"

"Will Adams: Maybe it's too traumatic to talk about? Just put yourself in her shoes for a moment. What if you were there when that happened?"

"Christine Everhart: I think we're moving slightly off topic here, so to close off this debate, I will abruptly ask you your opinion on this one question we all want an answer to: Must there be... A Scarlet Witch?"

"Will Adams: There is."

In the stillness of the shower, Wanda heard the silent echoes of her own heartbeat. The anticipation of the impending marriage, the culmination of years of longing and heartache, reverberated through her. The shower became a refuge where she could collect herself, mentally and emotionally.

But in an instant, it all changed. A sudden spike of adrenaline rushed to her heart in an unexpected angst that shot through her body like lightning. Her mind was suddenly catapulted back to the bottom of the ocean near the Island as she drowned both physically and mentally. Seeing flashes of waves knocking her down over and over again without stopping. She felt chained to the ground as the waves took away her ability to breathe, only gaining a few seconds of relief every time the waves passed. She grabbed her chest in extreme angst, her breathing became heavier and heavier. This was worse than before.

Wanda: No no no no not again! Why does this... keep... h-happening!

Then she saw it again. The faceless entity flashing before her eyes.

Wanda: What are you!? Leave me alone!

Her breaths were audibly loud enough to be heard outside the room. She collapsed to the ground inside the shower, curling up in a fetal position. A part of her genuinely believed she was going to die. She was unable to breathe, and the built up steam in the hot shower made it even worse. But she managed to squeak out a call for help.

Wanda: H-help!

Downstairs, Billy and Erik sat with patience, waiting for her to get ready in peace. Charles was not present anymore. Pietro was in the kitchen making a sandwich. Billy was the first to hear her.

Billy: Mom?

Billy ran towards the room as fast as he could. The bathroom door slammed open as he rushed to her aid.

Billy: Mom? Mom! Are you okay!?

He opened the shower door in a rush and turned off the water.

Wanda: B-billy?

Billy: Mom what happened!

Pietro rushed into the bathroom at superspeed.

Pietro: Wanda what happened? What's going on?

He then saw her curled up and shaking slightly on the shower floor.

Pietro: Wanda? Can you hear me?

Wanda: Pietro. I can't... breathe.

He grabbed the towel and wrapped it around her while picking her up from the ground.

Pietro: It's okay. We'll take you to a hospital.

Wanda: No! No hospital.

Pietro: Are you sure?

She nodded while taking deep breaths, her heart slowly but surely calming down. Billy ran downstairs to get a glass of water.

Pietro walked her to the bedroom, putting her down on the bed. Erik entered the room to know what happened.

Erik (Magneto): Wanda? Is everything alright?

She sat on the bed upright, slowly recollecting herself.

Wanda: I don't know w-what's h-happening to me... It f-felt like I was... pulled into an abyss... or being forced underwater.

Pietro: Are you okay now? Should we cancel the--

Wanda: NO. I'm okay. It was just... a few seconds. But I'm okay now. I think.

Erik(Magneto): Wanda, if there is anything you're not telling us, we just want to help.

Billy ran back upstairs with the glass of water.

Billy: Here you go, mom.

She took the water and drank small sips.

Wanda: Thank you, Billy.

Billy: Can I give you anything else? I could go get some more water.

Wanda: Oh it's not necessary. This will do.

Erik: Daughter... You have to tell us what happened.

Wanda: I-I don't know. I just... Felt so much weight on my chest. I felt like it was gonna explode. Then I... then I saw... then I saw it. Again.

Pietro: Saw what?

Just having to think about that thing made her anxious. She took shallow breaths before trying to change the topic.

Wanda: Can we not talk about it right now? It freaks me out. I need some privacy.

Pietro: Are you sure you're okay now? You really scared us there for a minute.

Wanda: ... Yes.

Magneto: If you need anything, just shout.

Wanda: I will.

As they walked out the room, very concerned, she sat on the bed in silence for a few minutes, finding solace in the serenity of the quiet room. After drying herself up with the towel, she finally grabbed the white dress hanging on the closet with a sense of anticipation. She took a deep breath as she held it out in front of her eyes, slowly putting it on, but feeling every bit of unworthiness and a feeling of disbelief of what was about to happen.

She looked at her own reflection in awe. Donning the stunning white dress that symbolized not just union but a renewal of love and hope. A gentle prelude to the grand crescendo awaiting her as she prepared to walk down the aisle. She drew in a deep breath, settling in front of the bedroom mirror while carefully adorning herself with earrings and makeup. A subtle wave of sadness swept over her, realizing the reality that her mother wasn't there to share this significant moment. Which also reminded her of the fact that she turned out to not even be her real mother. The absence resonated as she wove her fingers through her hair, pondering the void.

With a graceful flick of her wrist, her hair was transformed into a cascade of elegant waves, a harmonious blend of sophistication and serenity. Securing a few loose curls with an ornate hairpin covered in diamond.

Wanda kept staring at her own reflection, taking in this moment. Her heart fluttering, her eyes showing a touch of happiness and excitement, but also doubt and uncertainty, feeling this was too good to be true. That something will happen. What if Vision died again? What if her children died.

She is instantly pulled out of her trance by the sound of a knock on the door.

Erik (Magneto): Wanda, may I come in?

Wanda: Hold on.

She walked to the door and opened up, fully adorned in her mesmerizing dress. Erik was stunned at her beauty, with his mouth hanging open in awe.

Wanda: How do I look?

She reminded him of someone he once loved. Someone long gone, but never forgotten.

Erik(Magneto): Daughter... You... Look...

...

Breathtaking.

Wanda: (shy) Thank you.

Erik(Magneto): You remind me of your mother.

Wanda: My mother...

Erik(Magneto): You're her spitting image.

Wanda: I wish I met her.

Erik(Magneto): You'd have loved her.

Erik tried to change the subject to not linger on his deceased wife for too long.

Erik(Magneto): Are you ready to go?

Wanda: As ready as I can be, I guess.

He held out his hand, ready to take her to the most important moment of her life, the moment she's been longing for. Hoping for. Crying for. For years. The moment is finally upon her, and she couldn't be more ready to take it on.

But before Wanda stepped out of the room, there was a lingering thought that plagued her. Erik has never brought up her real mother before. As Erik took her hand, she removed it from his grip gently.

Erik(Magneto): What's the matter?

Wanda: Can I ask you something?

Erik(Magneto): Of course you can.

Wanda: What was she like? My real mother.

Erik sighed, lowering his head in sadness. He kept this from her for far too long. She deserved to know.

Erik(Magneto): Your mother was a lot like you. In more ways than one. She looked like you as well. She was kind, loving, gentle, beautiful... Inside and out. She brought out a part of me that I thought died a long time ago. She reminded me of who I really am.

Wanda smiled softly with an unshed tear.

Wanda: She sounds amazing.

Erik(Magneto): She was.

He let a tear escape his eye.

Erik(Magneto): Just like you.

He sat on the bed with her and took her hand.

Erik(Magneto): She'd be proud of you.

Wanda: What happened to her? Why did you leave me and Pietro?

He sighed with a deep sorrow.

Erik(Magneto): I was at a very dark point in my life. Although your mother did see the good in me, my... past actions was just too much to be forgiven, and the hatred and fear the humans had for the mutant population only fueled their anger for me. I tried the way of the world. Many times. For her. just as I am doing right now. For a time everything was okay. I made a new life for us. Until someone outed me. The police arrived... and they... And they killed her... and your sister in front of me.

...

Your mother was expecting you and Pietro at the time.

I'd appreciate a vote and a comment to let me know what you thought about the chapter.
