As Elizabeth and I flew back on Velaxes I noticed something
Our forces travelling back into the hill were significantly less than what had left
I landed Velaxes and helped Elizabeth climb off as I saw Peter and Caspian draw their swords
I ran over to see what was happening and saw Trumpkin on the floor
Elizabeth followed me as Trumpkin spoke
"What are you all standing around for, The Telmarines will be here soon enough"
I watched as they all walked back in and I followed Susan
"Susan come with me" I said and she turned to follow me
She followed Elizabeth and I into a room and I turned to Elizabeth
"Show her" I said and Elizabeth pulled out the necklace showing it to her
"It's a necklace" Susan said looking at it
"Don't you recognise it" I asked "I gave this necklace to someone"
"Oh" She said looking at it "You gave it to-" She cut herself off looking up at Elizabeth then at me
"Beth?" She asked, Elizabeth nodded and Susan hugged her
"When did you find out?" Susan asked me
"When we went to get Velaxes" I responded
I left the my Wife and Daughter to catch up while I walked to meet up with Peter
"Are you gonna tell me I made a mistake too" Peter asked when I found him
"No" I responded "You made a call"
"It's warfare, You can't save everyone" I told him "But you can honour their losses"
"Right now Miraz thinks we are a depleted force"
"We are a depleted force" Peter argued
"We have a dragon though" I said "and we've faced worse odds with a dragon on our side"
Peter chuckled lightly "Remember when we faced the Witches army the first time after Beruna"
I chuckled "Me, You, Orieus and Velaxes" How many did. we kill that day?"
I noticed a Decanter on a table nearby and I picked it up opening and sniffed it
"I'll be damned, Dragon whiskey" I poured out two glasses and Peter moved to sit next to me
"I think it was about 300" he answered the question before taking a sip
"I need to go, I told Susan I'd talk to her" I told him and then downed the rest of my drink
"Hey Jake can we talk" I heard a voice and turned to see Bryce
"What is it Bryce I'm in a hurry"
"Look man, Im freaking out" He started "I understand your used to this and I know I made fun of you for thinking this was real, But now I know it's real and I'm scared, I know your hanging out with your friends who know what they're doing and I know we haven't been friends for a while, I understand it was my fault but I don't have other friends here "
I looked at him sympathetically "I know I may seem like i'm handling it well but i'm terrified too, Ive just reunited with my Wife and Daughter and knowing I could die and leave them or I could lose one of them is scaring me"
I started walking with Bryce following me as we talked
I then felt something was off
I set off running to the Stone Table chamber and Bryce followed me
On the Way Edmund, Peter and Trumpkin all started following me
"STOP" I shouted running into the room and drawing my sword as I saw the Witch in what looked like an icy mirror
The others all drew their swords including Bryce
The werewolf jumped at me while Trumpkin went to fight Nickabrick
Peter and Edmund headed to the Hagraven as Bryce came behind me ready to fight the werewolf
I swung at the werewolf and it ran behind me and went for Bryce
It picked him up and threw him though Bryce managed to cut its leg
It howled in Pain
I watched as Lucy grabbed Nickabrick saving Trumpkin while I advanced on the werewolf with Bryce
I swung first cutting it and Bryce stabbed at it grazing it's arm
I then attacked it from behind slashing at its back it
It rounded on me jumping at me and knocking me over while my sword went flying
It was about to kill me when a sword went straight through its heart killing it
I looked behind to see Bryce had killed it
He walked over to me and gave me a hand up
I watched Trumpkin kill Nickabrick while Edmund finished of the Hag
I looked over and saw Peter was getting tempted by the Witch
I quickly ran behind and stabbed through the icy veil killing the Witch

Bryce PoV
Ten minutes ago I killed a werewolf
It was the first thing I ever killed and it felt strange
I remember everything from the weight of the sword to the feeling of pushing it in to the sound it made
"It gets easier" I heard behind me
I looked and saw Jake standing in his armour
"You always remember your first" He followed up
"What was yours" I asked
"A dwarf during the Witch's take over, Your lucky your first was a beast" He said with a sigh "Dwarves are so similar to humans but werewolves, They are a purely evil creature"
I stayed silent thinking over what he said
"Your still scared" He spoke again
"Terrified" I responded "It's a weird feeling, Knowing you could die any day"
"You can stay in here the whole battle if you want, No Narnian would hold it against you" Jake spoke
"I would hold it against myself though" I spoke
"Thought you might say that" He said then walked to the door grabbing two blunted swords throwing one to me "If your gonna fight then you best know how"
We trained for a couple hours until Caspian came in

Jake PoV
I had just disarmed Bryce again though he was starting to last longer
"Jake" I heard from the door and I looked over to see Caspian
He gestured for me to follow so I did with Bryce behind me
We followed him to an opening and then walked out seeing Miraz's army at the opposite end of the field
Peter, Edmund and Lucy soon joined us
"Trebuchets" I whispered seeing his artillery
Others joined us on the Balcony quickly before we retreated to the stone table room which had become a council room
"That's your next big plan" Trumpkin asked skeptically "Sending a little girl into the darkest parts of the forest, Alone"
"It's our only chance" Peter told him
"And she won't be alone" Elizabeth spoke up
"Haven't enough of us died already" Trumpkin asked
"Nickabrick was my friend too" Elizabeth started "But he lost hope, Lucy hasn't"
"Neither have I" Trufflehunter spoke up
Reepicheep drew his sword and spoke "For Aslan"
"For Aslan" A brown bear repeated
"The I'm going with you" Trumpkin told Lucy
"No we need you hear" Lucy spoke back
"We need to hold them off until Lucy and Elizabeth get back" Peter spoke
"If I may" Caspian spoke from the corner "Miraz may be a tyrant, And a murderer, But as king he is subject to the traditions and expectations of his people, There is one in particular that may buy us some time"
Edmund offered to go deliver the letter Peter wrote and Glenstorm and a Giant offered to take him
"I'll go too" I spoke up
"No" Susan said immediately "We need you here"
"I'm Lord Captain of the Dragon Guard" I spoke "My king is going into hostile territory so I'm going with him"
"Fine" Susan relented and we started walking across the field
Edmund and Glenstorm held olive branches while the giant and I watched for threats
I stood behind Edmund with my helmet under my arm as he read the letter while the Giant and Glenstorm waited outside
"I, Peter, By the gift of Aslan, By election and By conquest, High King of Narnia, Lord of Cair Paravel and Emperor of the Lone Islands, In order to prevent the abominable effusion of blood, do hereby challenge the usurper Miraz to single combat upon the field of battle, The fight shall be to the death, The reward shall be total surrender" Edmund finished the letter
"Tell me Prince Edmund" Miraz started
"King" I interrupted
"Pardon me" Miraz said
"It's King Edmund, While Peter is High King" I finished
Miraz continued with his point "Why would we risk such a proposal when our armies could wipe you out by nightfall"
"Haven't you already underestimated our numbers" Edmund spoke "Only a week ago, Narnians were extinct"
"And so you will be again" Miraz said
"Well then you should have little to fear" Edmund told him
Miraz laughed "This is not a question of Bravery"
"So your bravely hiding from a warrior half your age" I said mockingly
"I didn't say I refused" Miraz spoke
"You shall have our support your majesty, Whatever your decision" One of the lords spoke
"Sire, Our military advantage alone provides the perfect excuse to avoid"
Miraz cut the other lord off by standing up and grabbing his blade "I am not avoiding anything"
The lord spoke up "I was merely pointing out that our king is well within his rights to refuse"
"His majesty would never refuse" Miraz's general spoke
"So will you fight Peter" I spoke up
"No" Miraz said quickly "I will fight you, In all the stories the Dragon Knight is the greater swordsman so it must have some truth"
We walked back to our side to tell Peter Miraz wanted to fight me instead
I learned from Susan that Lucy and Elizabeth had left though she alerted me to the flirting between Beth and Caspian
After that I walked out followed by Peter, Edmund and Bryce to the stone square where I would be fighting
I had a red cape fastened to my back to make my armour look more fearsome
Bryce was carrying my sword so the Scabbard wouldn't slow me down
Peter had my shield while Edmund carried my helmet
I looked at Miraz who was sat on a chair across from us
I unhooked the cape and let it fall to the floor
I then grabbed my Helmet and put it on
Peter then fastened my shield to my arm and Bryce handed me my sword
Bryce had been giving Armour that the Dragon Guard used to wear and he wore the Grey Dragon proudly
I had kept Velaxes hidden on the other side of the hill so the Telmarines didn't know we had him
As I approached Miraz he spoke "There is still time to surrender"
"Let me know when you want to" I retorted
"How many more must die for the thrones" Miraz spoke
"Just You"
I swung my sword at his head which he blocked
He stabbed at me though I pushed his blade away with my shield
He pushed his shield into my helmet knocking me off balance though I gave myself time by swinging at him forcing him to dodge
I regained my balance and pushed to attack
I immediately noticed I was faster though he was stronger
He swung for my neck which I ducked under and I slashed his leg
He swung at me again which I sidestepped then I hit him with my shield
He swung his sword at me catching part of my arm that was uncovered
He swung his blade downwards which I parried with my sword before kicking him back a bit
I swung my blade at his shield feigning an attack leaving him open
I swung downwards and sliced part of his arm
After that I heard a horse and I turned to see Caspian with Elizabeth on the back
"Does the Dragon Knight need a respite" Miraz asked
"Five minutes?" I asked
"Three"
I walked over to them and immediately asked about Lucy while taking my helmet off
"She got through" Elizabeth responded
"Good"
I could tell Miraz was getting weaker though the cut on my arm was bleeding a bit
I tore a bit of cloth from the cape I had been wearing and tied it around my arm to stop the bleeding
I looked to the Narnians and saw morale was low so I thrust my sword into the air with a smile that got a cheer
I then replaced my helmet and got ready to fight again
I was handed my sword and shield and I got ready to fight
I charged at Miraz and swung for his chest
My shield arm was starting to get tired so I performed an uppercut move with it knocking his helmet off then I immediately dropped it
We circled each other and I removed my helmet throwing it to the ground next to Edmund
I swung for his sword arm and he moved his sword to parry it though I had a plan
I moved my sword down and whacked his sword hand disarming him
I swung for him again though he blocked it with his shield
He grabbed by sword hand and hit it with his shield leaving me without sword or shield
He swung his shield at me which I dodged before left hooking him
I then grabbed his shield and tore it from his grasp swinging it at him and knocking him over
He tried to get up but I kicked him back down and got on top of him
I punched him eight times before standing up and leaving him weak on the floor
I went to turn away when I heard what sounded like a battle cry
I turned around in time just block his blade with my vambraces before kicking the leg I hadn't cut causing it to break
I picked up Miraz's sword and looked at him
"What's the matter boy" He spoke "Scared to take a life"
"I've killed more men than you've known, But it's not mine to take" I turned and held out the sword for Caspian who walked over and grabbed it
I picked up my own sword as I left the square and watched Caspian
He stabbed downwards but put the blade in the dirt in front of Miraz
Caspian spoke to Miraz though I couldn't hear the words
The Narnians started cheering
"Treachery" I noticed one of Susan's arrows in Miraz as he lay dead and I turned to look at Susan who shook her head though now she was stood next to Elizabeth with the archers
Two of the Telmarines charged at us
I killed the first as Peter killed the second
