Hvitserk looked over to Ivar who was sitting on the throne, with Freydis on his side smiling, Hvitserk looked away to look at Freyja who stared back at Ivar with a hurt look, Hvitserk, and Freyja both zoned out not listening to the conversation between Ivar and Halfdan
"Skøl."
Ivar smirked looking at half and, mummering
"Skøl."
Solaine who sat across Hvitserk scoffed drinking her ale, Ivar noticed their mood placing the mead cup on the table and throwing food at them
"What's the matter, little brothers and sisters?"
Hvitserk scoffed sarcastically responding to Ivar in an angry tone
"I am not your little brother, and you exactly know what's wrong with me, Margrethe is dead!"
Solaine and Freyja looked at each other, turning back to Ivar
"I know"
"Of course, you know! You ordered the killing!"
Hvitserk screamed hitting the mead cup on the table, making the ale fly all over, especially on Freyja and Solaine, Ivar put a fake sad expression looking at Hvitserk
"Why would I do that?"
"Because she knew that you could never get a woman pregnant"
Adeline choked on her ale looking at Hvitserk, Ivar smirked responding
"Well that is not quite true, is it sweet"
Ivar asked looking at Freydis, Freydis responded looking at Freyja
"No"
Freydis said with a smile, Ivar kissed her hand smiling back
"Tell them why"
"For I am with child"
Freydis announced making people shocked, especially Halfdan, Solaine stared at a guy who stared at Freydis, which made her smile fade a bit
"Freyja come now..."
Freyja just sat there, staring at Ivar hurt before Adeline and Solaine pulled her away, to her cabin, Freyja sat in a chair nervously
"I am also with Ivar's child-"
"What do we do now?"
Adeline asked looking at Solaine who shrugged an answer before her eyes widen, she must have realized something Adeline thought looking at her
"Didn't Freydis look at a man when she announced the pregnancy?"
Adeline nodded before gasping, Freyja turned to her confused
"Freydis must have lied, and you are carrying our brother's real son!"
Freyja chuckled a bit sad, looking at Solaine who looked at her serious
"Why would Freydis lie?"
"To be queen of course?"
Freyja's eyes soften as she stared at Solaine, Adeline looked at her sister then Freyja, who shook her head leaning on the chair, holding her stomach Solaine looked at her softly holding her hand, making Freyja's gaze soften
Solaine and Freyja sat uncomfortably at the table with Freydis and Ivar, Ivar leaned to Freydis whispering into her ear who walked away to Hvitserk, Ivar's gaze turned to Freyja who then walked away to Gaius, Both Solaine and Ivar watched as Freyja leaned in whispering something into his ear, Ivar scoffed as he drank his ale, Solaine snickered drinking her ale
"What do you want to speak to me, brother?"
Hvitserk asked, leaning into the table and Freydis wrapping her around his, as Solaine moved away with a face
"Yes, my brother come, sit down. Drink! I have wonderful news, great news. Isn't that right sweetheart?"
Solaine turned her head slowly to Hvitserk, who cringed in their conversation
"Yes. Wonderful news"
"Come on sit down!"
Hvitserk bit his lip as he hesitates, Athena looked at Hvitserk as she was talking with halfdan
"Sit down"
Hvitserk finally leaned in and sat down next to Solaine, who stared at Ivar holding her mead cup with both of her hands
"So what's the great news? I would love some great news"
Ivar chuckled placing a mead cup in front of Hvitserk, then licking his fingers, making Solaine make a face toward the action
"Where to start? You know that our whole family is a descendant of the All-father?"
"Yes"
Hvitserk answered as Solaine furrowed her eyebrows in confusion
"Yes, that is you two, that is me, too you two and I are a descendant of Odin everyone knows that. You also remember when we were young, you and your brother always made fun of me because I was different"
"I don't remember me or Solaine making fun of you, Ivar"
Hvitserk looked at Solaine by the side of his eye, her shoulder tensed up looking at Ivar
"No, but you both pitied me and I was ashamed, I hated being a cripple always breaking my bones the endless pain... I was so angry all the time, Hvitserk and I asked myself, why did the gods hate me so much...? Why me"
Solaine looked at Ivar with a bothered face, before he could continue Solaine walked off mumbling
In the chambers, Solaine was brushing her hair turning to Hvitserk as he walked in
"why did you leave?"
He asked, Solaine stared at him before looking back at the mirror
"I do not believe that... The child Freydis is carrying is our brother"
Hvitserk sighed sitting next to her
"Neither do I, but when I found out that Freyja had gotten pregnant, I thought to myself that is Ivar's child"
Solaine stayed silent as she stared at the table, Hvitswrk looked at her a bit worried
"What is wrong"
Tears fell down her cheek, Hvitserk's eyes widen as he tried to pull Solaine into a hug, resulting in her pushing him and turning around
Outside Athena was sitting on the ground, turning her head towards Hvitserk and a woman, she stayed silent as she got on all fours watching them, Hvitserk caught Athena's eyes as the rain started pouring in, her eyes shining with tears as she watched Hvitserk and the woman walked away, She sat in the ground wiping her tears, afar the distance Frigg ran over to Athena helping her up
"Let's go, love"
Frigg whispered walking away with her
Snow was crunching under Athena's boots, as she walked out of the market carrying a bucket of food and supplies, her walking stopped as she saw Hvitserk catching her gaze and walking towards her, Athena blinked before starting walking towards Frigg's cabin, she struggled to open it before Hvitserk slammed her towards the door, Athena's eyes widen as she stared at Hvitserk, she could hear his breathing getting heavy as it was forming a smoke due to the temperature
"You're scaring me-"
Hvitserk let go of her backing up, Athena stared at him before speaking
"Do you love her"
"Athena"
Athena cut Hvitserk off, with a yell
"Do you love her!?"
Hvitserk stared at her eye widen, before nodding
"Yes... Yes I do"
Athena stared at him, before taking off her necklace with one hand, the necklace Hvitseek gave her
"give this to her then"
"Athena-"
She cut him off again, and as she slammed the door behind her, she fell on the floor holding the basket close to her chest, her back hitting the door as she cried, Hvitserk sighed placing his head in the door
"I'm sorry..."
Hvitserk stood there waiting for a response, when he didn't he walked off
