A soft groan escaped (Y/N)'s lips whilst tuning into her back. The sun just began to raise but her body was already awake and refusing to go back to sleep.

She rubs her eyes and then sits up for a while to sort her thoughts about what to do today. She decides to have a quick breakfast, one of her cereal bars should do it for now since she feels kinda lazy to make something more decent.

The girl puts her street clothes back on and exits the cabin to eat outside, she's not sure why but today she really wanted to feel the freshness of the forest, probably after the nasty nightmares.

But as soon as she was out she noticed how eerily quiet it is, such silent made her a bit uncomfortable... Did something happened durning the night?

Her worries quickly flashed away when she made her way to the camp and saw some beer bottles and cans next to the logs they were sitting on last night. The teen lets out a tired sigh, well her predictions about the group making a mess were correct...

Having the feeling of responsibility the girl makes a quick trip towards the van they came in to get a plastic bag, the vehicle of corse was open since Stefan claimed himself to give a damn about 'this old piece of metal fuck'.

Ones she got what she needed she came back and began to clean up the mess, it wasn't much thankfully so she will finish in no time. However, whilst doing so she couldn't avoid but to feel an uncanny sense of being watched... But not in a normal way, whoever or whatever is looking at her is doing it in a really intense way, studding and judging every move she makes as if waiting for any tiny mistake...

This feeling seems to have to reason to happen since she's the only one awake!... Or so she though.

—"You had a lot of nerve yesterday, you little slut."—

The sudden voice of Isaac made (Y/N) literally jump like a scared cat. She turns around and stares at her brother with a clearly scared expression, but slightly relaxes when she noticed his hands were empty.

—"S-Sorry... It won't happen again."—

—"You better stick for your words..."— he grumbles but then his expression turns into a sickly sweet smile. —"Because... Well, I called mom and dad yesterday and guess what, they went on a vacation..."—

He takes a couple of steps towards her and puts his arm around her shoulders quite roughly.

—"Which means when we are back it will be just the two of us, like last year! So you better behave, understood?"—

(Y/N) nearly had a panic attack when she heard the news, the pain in her abdomen and the flashbacks of the incident returned to her at ones. With glassy eyes she managed to keep her composure and hurriedly nodded whilst avoiding her brother's gaze at all cost.

At that Isaac simply smirked.

—"Very well."— his smile fades. —"Now get out my sight you whore."—

He roughly pushes (Y/N) away, the gesture was unexpected which caused the teen to fall on her knees and slightly scrape then agains the ground, tho she payed to mind to the stinging pain and as quickly as she could she stood up and practically ran away from her brother and the camp.

This interaction didn't went unnoticed, because the same being behind the mask witnessed it all and he wasn't happy. The man didn't even noticed he was scowling underneath his mask, the cruel behavior coming from the male teen really effected the man, bringing his own nasty memories from his childhood...

Despite the anger, deep down and for the very first time he felt bad for a trespassers... He felt bad for that girl...

He wonders... No, hopes she'll comeback...

. . .

The town was quite far from the summer camp, specially on foot but the teen couldn't give a bigger damn about it at that time, she was just happy she got away from her brother. Now she has to figure out something more than just getting a job because going back home is going to be a death sentence now that her parents won't be there, and judging by Isaac's outburst from yesterday the conclusion won't be good for her...

She shakes her head, no she shouldn't think about that. Right now it's best to keep her hopes up and see what Lady Luck has in store for her...

After some more walking she finally made her way towards the little town and as soon as she entered she noticed how surprised some locals were to see her around. At such odd reaction (Y/N) would reply with a tight smile and a small awkward wave as she walked through the town, looking around and studying her surroundings.

She stops at the sigh of a little bakery when she noticed that one kind old lady from yesterday inside, the teen is unsure why but she felt the need to swing by to say hello to her.

As soon as she entered the lady was quick to recognize her and would walk around the counter to greet her.

—"My oh my! Such a pleasure to see you around again, dear."— she takes your hands and give you a little squeeze whilst greeting you.

—"G-Good morning ma'am. It's a real pleasure to see you again too."— you smile at her, a bit shy by such welcoming approach.

—"It's not like I can be anywhere else. But my friend Nikita, oooh that man can be anywhere and any time. One moment I'm chatting with him and the next one he's heading to Illinois for whatever reason."— she chuckles. —"And may I know the reason of your visit?"—

—"Oh- Well uh..."— you sigh and collect yourself. —"I am currently looking for a job, any job. To gain some extra cash and stuff. I know I may not be the most experienced person but I swear I will do my best to get the job done. I... I really need it."—

The lady falls silent and nods to herself whilst thinking, after a little while she looks at the teen again.

—"Well, there's nothing available for now... However."— she looks around as if she's about to tell you a secret. —"In my bakery, there is this one employee who's always absent, and if they don't come for another couple of days I may just fire them... And since you need a job, there will be a spot already waiting for you."— she gives you a little wink.

(Y/N)'s eyes widened in disbelief, she blinked while her mind kept processing the information she just received. Her shock soon was replaced with happiness and relief and she lets out a little happy squeak whilst covering her mouth with one hand.

—"Thank you so so much lady, I swear to the lord I'll do my best!"— you give her the most grateful glance your face was capable of.

—"Oh it's nothing sweetheart. I can tell you need it, and I have no doubt you'll do just great. At least more than an old lady like me can do."— she chuckles. —"And please call me Rose, no need to get all formal because it makes me feel even older."—

—"R-Right, thank you so much miss Rose."— you give her a little bow but then stiffened after realizing she doesn't know your name. —"I-I'm (Y/N) by the way, sorry I forgot the name part."—

—"It's fine dear, I see you don't often speak to people... Just like me in my young!"— she laughs again but her smile fades and gets replaced by a frown when she notices your scraped knees. —"My goodness... What happened there?"—

(Y/N) tilts her head in confusion but after realizing what miss Rose is talking about her body stiffened again.

—"I just tripped and fell, not a big deal, it doesn't even hurt!"— you try your best to reassure her.

However, the lady furrows her brows and looks into (Y/N)'s (e/c) eyes, carefully studying and most likely catching that she's hiding something. But instead of pressuring her to speak she just sighs and gives her a soft smile.

—"Would you like to try some of my goods? They still warm."—

—"Oh-... Uh..."— you think for a bit and after remembering the events from the morning you decide that you can allow yourself a treat. —"Sure, that would be wonderful, thank you so much for the offer."—

Miss Rose nods with a smile and points towards one of the tables so (Y/N) doesn't stand awkwardly. After a little while she brought the deserts she chose.

—"Oh my- It's incredibly good!"— you exclaim. —"I'm impressed there aren't many customers here, your baking deserve so much more recognition."—

—"Aww, aren't you a sweetie pie."— she chuckles whilst wiping counter with a rag. —"You sound just like that one fella I've met when I just opened this place, I think his name was uh... Jason, yeah, Jason Voorhees."—

(Y/N) nearly choked when she heard the name, her head snapping towards the old lady with a shocked expression.

—"J-Jason Voorhees?! T-The child that drowned?!"—

—"Yeah, that one..."— her face changes into a sad frown and she leans into the counter. —"Such a tragedy, that little sunshine deserved so much better, as well as his mother."—

(Y/N)'s expression saddened too, her appetite disappearing.

—"And... How did you meet them? I-If it's okay for me to ask."— you hurriedly say the last part.

Miss Rose just smiles with a hum, then dips her head in a nod.

—" Of corse it's okay! As I mentioned it was when I just opened this place, I had barely costumers and lived from pay check to paycheck but I was determined to get this business to work. One of these days they entered; Pamela Voorhees and her son Jason. They both seemed relieved that there was barely anyone, and Miss Voorhees was so nice! I could instantly tell she was a good loving mother stuck in a tough situation."—

The old lady sighs and leans her head on her hand.

—"And her son was an absolute sweetheart, he wasn't too verbal and seemed to have some difficulties to speak but still did his best to communicate."—

(Y/N) smiles sadly, feeling even worse for the little boy and the fate he suffered.

—"And... His face, was it as bad as everyone claims?..."— you wonder.

—"Well uh..."— Miss Rose thinks. —"I don't remember every detail, but he did look... Different. However, that boy had the kindest eyes I've ever seen in a human being..."— she sighs sadly.

—"Oh..."— you can almost physically feel your heart breaking.

Miss Rose remains quiet for a little while, eventually she finishes cleaning the counter and makes her way towards (Y/N).

—"I'm sorry I can't tell anything else about them, dear. That's the only interaction I had with these two. I saw Miss Voorhees after the incident ones outside my bakery but she never entered, probably too hurt by the memories..."—

—"No no, it's fine! What you said was more than enough."— you hurriedly reassure her. —"Thank you so much for your time and the story, and apologies for making you remember bad things..."—

The old lady just smiles and pats (Y/N)'s arm lightly.

—"Nonsense! I never had a chance to tell this to anyone and now I feel great for letting at least someone know this little 'secret' of mine."— she chuckles. —"Also you are too apologetic and polite, I thought I said I don't want any formalities!"—

Now it's the teen who chuckled, she couldn't help but to feel on ease with this lady who really resembled her grandmother.

The teen stayed in the bakery for a little longer but eventually had to get going back since the walk to the camp will take a while.

She was about to take her wallet out of her backpack but Miss Rose stopped her.

—"No no, the house pays."—

—"Huh?... B-But-"—

—"You've been nothing but polite and kind (Y/N), as well as a great customer to chat! Plus... I can tell you really need your money, so keep it to yourself, dear."— she gives you somehow knowledgeable look, as if she was aware about the tough situation between your and your sibling.

The teen was beyond shocked with such gesture, it's been a while since she received such selfless and kind gesture from someone... Specially since her family moved into the city.

—"Now go, and please make sure to visit again in a day or two. You heard me?"—

Ones snapped out of her stupor the girl nods with a smile and exits the bakery.

The whole walk towards the camp she couldn't help but to smile to herself, but at some point her smile died when she remembered the story of the Voorhees family.

Part of her felt bad that so many people took their tragic story as a stupid tale to scare kids and laugh about, should she make a memorial? Something to pay the victims respect and keep the memory of them alive?

The teen nods to herself...

"Well, she has her afternoon now planned."
