~The Racetrack~

Lexi's voice quivers slightly as she summons the courage to speak, her gaze meeting Adrian's as she softly greets him,

"Hi."

Adrian reciprocates with a warm smile, his tone gentle yet tinged with a hint of anticipation,

"Hey."

Lexi's heart beats rapidly in her chest, a whirlwind of thoughts swirling through her mind.

She still doesn't believe that she is talking to him.

Her voice is steady and filled with genuine warmth as she continues the conversation.

"How are you?"

"I'm good,"

"You truly know how to surprise, first the party and now this," she remarks.

Adrian's expression reflects genuine curiosity as he replies,

"I could say the same about you. Your family owns MM&A Motors, right?"

Lexi acknowledges with a nod, a hint of resignation in her voice,

"Yes, now everyone seems to know."

Her curiosity piqued, she presses further, "But why did you choose to follow me?"

Adrian's answer is simple and direct, "Because I wanted to."

The response leaves Lexi momentarily taken aback, prompting her to inquire further,

"Everyone knows that you don't just follow anyone, that's why I'm asking,"

Adrian's eyes meet hers, a spark of intrigue lighting up his features,

"You know Yuki, no one can claim they truly know him."

Lexi's mind races, contemplating the significance of their conversation. She then addresses the question lingering in her thoughts,

"You want to know why I have a unique bike, the one that no one else in the world has, just like yours?"

Adrian, with a subtle grin, responds, "Yes, you brought it, didn't you? I know you've raced before, but you haven't raced against me yet."

The revelation leaves Lexi momentarily stunned, the prospect of racing against Adrian both daunting and exhilarating.

"You can learn a lot about a person by the bike they choose to ride," he muses.

Lexi's words hang in the air, carrying a mix of admiration and humility,

"I ride because I enjoy it because it's fun. But to race against you would be an honor that I can't resist."

"But that means that I have to prove myself to you," Lexi responds, her voice laced with determination.

Adrian shakes his head, a hint of amusement in his eyes.

"No, I followed you because I didn't have another way to contact you and get to know you better, to see you in action. Let's just have fun with this."

Lexi's brows furrow in confusion. "But I came here to talk."

Adrian's expression softens, his voice sincere.

"And we have. Or would you prefer me to stop following you?"

Lexi pauses, realizing that his intentions may be genuine.

"No, that's not what I want. I mean... okay. Where can I change?"

Adrian quickly calls over a staff member to escort Lexi to the changing room, ensuring she has the necessary facilities for her preparation.

As Lexi stands in the changing room, she takes a moment to collect herself. Thoughts race through her mind, recalling a video she had posted three years ago, expressing her admiration for Adrian during one of his competitions. Her cheeks flush with embarrassment, realizing that he may have seen it.

"Oh no, did he see that? He knows I like him... like him. What am I going to do now?"

Lexi murmurs to herself, a mix of excitement and nervousness intertwining within her. She chuckles, trying to ease her jitters, as she zips up her racing gear.

Meanwhile, Adrian takes a sip of water as he notices her bike being brought over by the staff. His gaze lingers on the model, a familiar mark catching his eye. A smile forms on his lips as memories flood his mind.

Turning his head towards the entrance, Adrian spots Lexi making her way toward him in her racing gear, the colors mirroring his own. He can't conceal the genuine delight that lights up his face as she approaches. Lexi stands before him, her confidence radiating knowing that Adrian is genuinely interested, and whatever may come of this, she is ready to handle it.

"It fits you perfectly," Adrian remarks, his voice filled with admiration, causing Lexi's heart to flutter.

"You had this all planned, didn't you?" Lexi questions, a mixture of surprise and curiosity in her voice.

Adrian takes a step closer, his gaze unwavering.

"I knew we would meet here, one way or another."

A sense of anticipation fills the air as they stand together, their racing gear a symbol of their shared passion. Adrian offers a gentle suggestion,

"You should warm up first, and see if you feel comfortable in it."

Lexi nods, her heart pounding with a mix of excitement and nerves. She dons her helmet and gracefully mounts her bike, ready to embark on this unexpected journey with Adrian by her side.

Lexi mounts her bike, acutely aware of Adrian's gaze fixed upon her. Nervousness initially creeps in, but then, to her surprise, she hears loud music filling the air. She turns to Adrian, a knowing smile playing on her lips. He has orchestrated this moment for her, a gesture that speaks volumes of his understanding. Lexi's apprehension melts away as she begins to dance on her bike, her laughter blending with the rhythm of the music. It feels surreal, like a dream come true, to be in this moment with Adrian watching.

Feeling invigorated by the music, Lexi channels her newfound energy into her ride. She effortlessly executes difficult techniques, displaying a skill that astonishes even Adrian. When she completes her warm-up, she parks her bike and removes her helmet, her face beaming with satisfaction.

"That wasn't just a warm-up, that was great," Adrian remarks, his voice filled with admiration.

Lexi chuckles, her laughter ringing through the air.

"Thank you, the gear is comfortable," she replies, referring to her racing gear.

Adrian's curiosity gets the better of him. "Do you do this just for fun?" he asks.

Lexi's eyes sparkle with enthusiasm. "It's more than just fun, it's about the thrill, the adrenaline rush," she explains, her passion evident in her words.

Adrian nods, a glint of understanding in his eyes. "I see you're ready to race," he comments.

Lexi's determination shines through as she responds, "Yeah, let's do this."

After taking a moment to hydrate and listen to some more music, Lexi expresses her fondness for a particular song. Adrian, having anticipated her taste, smirks and confirms,

"I know."

"How many of my posts did you see?"

"Enough to know how much you love music,"

Lexi grins, knowing how many things he must have seen on her page.

"Yeah, I listen to music all the time," she confesses.

"It makes me feel so good, like riding but better. When I ride, it feels exhilarating and dangerous, but when I listen to music, it just brings me pure joy. There's a unique confidence that comes with it. So, combining both just makes me happy."

Adrian nods, a shared understanding passing between them.

"I feel the same way," he admits.

Lexi's eyes widened in pleasant surprise. "You do?" she says sarcastically.

Adrian chuckles softly.

"I know that too," Lexi playfully rolls her eyes.

"You already know how much of a fan I am. You're just thinking, 'Oh, she's so infatuated.'"

Adrian shakes his head, a smile playing on his lips.

"No, I'm not. I've had interactions with fans before, and this is not it. I called you here because you're a part of the superbike community. And about being a fan, I'm the one who should say that I'm your fan, or better yet, follower."

Lexi laughs, her heart fluttering at his words.

"I know you're just teasing me."

Adrian finishes his drink and gestures toward their bikes.

"Let's race before I start believing you," Lexi stands up and walks to her bike, Adriam follows.

Both of them eagerly mount their bikes and secure their helmets. The race begins the sound of engines roaring filling the air. A staff member records the exhilarating moment for Adrian. The competition intensifies as Lexi gives chase, her skills and determination propelling her closer to Adrian. In the end, Adrian emerges as the winner, his expertise evident.

As they park their bikes, Lexi hastily removes her helmet, her face flushed with excitement. She looks at Adrian, a mixture of awe and admiration in her eyes.

"I knew you were fast, but this was insane," she manages to say, her words punctuated by heavy breaths.

Adrian approaches her, removing his helmet with a sense of satisfaction. "I wanted to see how far you could go. Not many people can ride at that speed," he admits.

Lexi tries to steady her racing heart, her admiration for Adrian growing with each passing moment. "So, this is how it feels when you compete. I can't handle this level of speed," she confesses, a mix of awe and humility in her voice.

"Now this is the adrenaline rush I always want to feel," Lexi exclaims, her hands trembling with excitement. "I can't believe you feel like this every time you ride."

Adrian smiles, his eyes reflecting a shared understanding. "You never get used to it. Sometimes it's scary, but it's also incredibly addictive."

"Yeah," Lexi replies, finding a seat to calm herself down and catch her breath.

Adrian takes a sip of water, his gaze fixed on her. "I know now," he says.

Lexi looks at him, curiosity evident in her eyes. "Know what?"

"Why Yuki gave you the bike," Adrian reveals.

Lexi's eyes widen, surprised by his statement. "Yuki said he is the only one who knows," she replies.

"I know Yuki well enough to understand his intentions. He gave you something to give to me, didn't he?" Adrian says, his voice filled with intrigue as he settles beside Lexi.

Lexi is taken aback, her mind racing to comprehend his words. "No, he didn't," she replies, a hint of uncertainty in her voice.

Adrian leans closer, his eyes searching hers. "But you said you have something to give to me."

Lexi hesitates for a moment before responding. "Yes, but I don't carry it with me," she admits.

Adrian's gaze intensifies, his curiosity piqued. "Then bring it the next time we meet," he suggests.

"Next time?" Lexi's heart skips a beat, a mix of excitement and disbelief coursing through her veins.

Adrian nods, a genuine smile gracing his lips. "Yeah, you almost caught up to me. I want to see how far you'll go next time."

"Uh, yeah, okay," Lexi stammers, her mind racing with anticipation.

"I know Michael so well, I'm surprised I didn't get to know you sooner," Adrian says, a hint of surprise in his voice.

Lexi's eyes widen, her mind racing to comprehend his words.

"That's because my parents decided to keep me away from the public. It was not my choice," she explains, a tinge of frustration lacing her voice.

Adrian's expression softens, understanding dawning in his eyes.

"That's why you wear a mask?" he asks, a note of curiosity in his voice.

Lexi nods, a mix of determination and vulnerability evident in her gaze.

"Yeah, that was my decision. I needed to promote Herdrenaline in any way I could, even if it meant hiding my identity."

Adrian leans back, his gaze fixed on her.

"I didn't realize how much of an impact my following you would have," he admits, his voice filled with a touch of regret.

Lexi offers him a reassuring smile, her voice filled with sincerity.

"It's okay. I was with my parents before I came here, and they're okay with it. They've accepted the changes that come with the public knowing who I am."

Adrian's eyes meet hers, searching for any signs of hesitation.

"And what about you?" he asks, his voice filled with genuine concern.

Lexi takes a moment to reflect before answering.

"At first, I was happy and excited, but then it became overwhelming, but I'm glad I talked to you, I've come to realize that I don't mind the public attention as much as I thought. I want to let people know the real me."

Lexi nods, her eyes sparkling with newfound determination.

"Once Herdrenaline's copies are out and the new season begins, the attention will naturally shift towards the team and the races."

Lexi's expression softens as she looks at Adrian, her voice filled with curiosity and concern.

"But how is it on your end? How are you handling all of this?

Adrian takes a moment to collect his thoughts, his eyes meeting Lexi's.

"It's been quite a whirlwind," he admits. "With the company now knowing who your father is, some see it as a strategic move, others as the beginning of a friendship."

Lexi's brows furrow with understanding. "Yea, well my father sees it as a strategic move. I hope it hasn't caused any unwanted consequences for you."

Adrian smiles warmly, his gaze unwavering.

"I decided to follow you because I genuinely wanted to get to know you. No matter what the outside world says or thinks."

Lexi's lips curl into a reassuring smile, a sense of relief washing over her.

Adrian's attention is momentarily diverted as he notices a staff member calling out to him, their urgency evident. Glancing at his watch, he realizes the time and a sense of urgency fills his voice as he speaks to Lexi.

"Time goes by quickly here, I have somewhere I need to be," he says apologetically.

"You already have my number," Adrian reminds her, a subtle reassurance in his voice.

"Yeah," Lexi replies, her voice filled with a mix of joy and disbelief.

"Great, we'll talk later," Adrian says, standing up from his seat.

"Okay, bye," Lexi says, her heart still fluttering with excitement.

"Bye," Adrian replies, walking towards the other end of the racetrack.

Lexi watches him, a smile playing on her lips. She can't believe that Adrian wants to hang out with her again. She heads towards the changing room, giggling to herself and replaying their conversation in her mind. It's a surreal feeling to have Adrian's number and to be in this moment with him. She can't stop smiling as she changes into her regular clothes and steps out.

The staff members approach her, informing her that Adrian has instructed them to take her home. Lexi's eyes widen in surprise. "What about my bike?" she asks, concerned about leaving it behind.

"It has been taken care of," one of the staff members assures her.

Lexi spots her bike securely loaded inside another car that will accompany them. She considers riding home herself, but the staff insists on driving her. Reluctantly, she agrees, sharing her destination with them. Lexi knows she can't take them to her secret house, so she directs them to her loft.

As the car pulls up to her loft, Lexi sees her bike being unloaded and placed in a secure spot. Grateful for the arrangements, she thanks the staff members and steps out. Just as she enters her house, her phone rings, and she sees Ryan's name on the screen.

"Hey! I haven't seen you today," Ryan exclaims.

"Yeah, I've been so busy," Lexi replies, her voice filled with excitement.

"I didn't get to see your reaction after Adrian followed you," Ryan says, curious.

Lexi giggles still exhilarated from her encounter with Adrian. "I know! I was so shocked. I met him again today after meeting Mom and Dad," she shares.

"What? That's a lot for just one day," Ryan remarks.

"Yeah, but it wasn't like I expected. Dad's cool with it, and you know how Mom is," Lexi says, her voice filled with anticipation.

"What about Adrian?" Ryan asks.

"It was incredible! We raced together, I tried my best but he is on a whole different level and then we talked afterward, and no, I wasn't nervous or drunk this time," Lexi says as she walks into the living room.

Ryan chuckles, his admiration evident in his voice as he speaks to Lexi.

"I'm genuinely thrilled for you, Lexi. This feels like a dream come true."

Lexi's face lights up with a mixture of excitement and contemplation.

"Yeah, that's exactly how it feels,"

"You know, Ryan, I've made a decision. I'm going to embrace everything that's happening without questioning or overthinking it. I want to enjoy every moment of our interactions."

Ryan's smile widens, his support unwavering.

"That's exactly what I was going to say. Just have fun, Lexi."

Her smile grows even wider, her heart brimming with anticipation.

"Thank you for saying that, Ryan."

"You're welcome. Well, I'm heading home now. We'll catch up tomorrow."

"Alright, take care. See you tomorrow," Lexi says, ending the call.

First things first, she heads to the bathroom to freshen up, washing away the remnants of sweat.

Feeling refreshed, Lexi decides to treat herself and orders her favorite dinner from a nearby restaurant. While waiting for her food to arrive, she settles into her comfortable living room, the soft glow of the lamp casting a warm ambiance. She selects a movie from her collection and eagerly immerses herself in its storyline, allowing her mind to wander and her thoughts to settle.

After getting her dinner delivery. She eagerly opens the package and savors the delicious aroma wafting from the containers. With a satisfied smile, she enjoys her meal, relishing every bite.

She curls up on the couch, wrapped in a soft blanket, and starts to continue watching another movie that she had been meaning to watch for a while. The familiar voices and captivating storyline provide the perfect escape, allowing her to unwind and immerse herself in the cinematic world.

As the movie comes to an end, Lexi's eyelids grow heavy, and a sense of tranquility washes over her. She prepares for bed, slipping into her comfortable pajamas and settling under the covers. The day's events and the excitement of her encounter with Adrian fill her thoughts as she drifts off into a peaceful sleep, eagerly anticipating what the future holds.

As Adrian arrives home after a long and eventful day, he finds peace in the comfort of his own space. The fatigue of the day's activities weighs on his shoulders, and he knows it's time to wind down.

Glancing at the clock, he realizes that it's already late, too late to call or text Lexi. Instead, he saves her number in his contacts, a small yet significant gesture that symbolizes his growing interest in her.

Adrian prepares for bed, after showering, he changes into his sleepwear and settles under the soft covers, drifting into a well-deserved slumber, eager to see what tomorrow will bring.

Is he interested because he wants to be friends or more?
