Jahzara was now fluttering her eyes open after a peaceful night of sleep next to Carmén.
She cleared her eyes and sat up to check what time it was. Seeing the time, she knew she had to leave soon or her parents would be calling.
Jahzara turned her body to check if Carmén was still asleep. She smiled at the girl who's hair was all over the place. She knows hers is not the neatest either. She had forgotten to bring her bonnet. She sighed and kissed the girl on the cheek before she went in the bathroom to get dressed.
A couple yawns and hot water to the face later, Jahzara was fully awake and had her clothes on. She went back into Carmén's room to find the girl awake.
"Buenos días Jahzara." Carmén said as she greeted the girl with a smile
(Good morning Jahzara.)
"Buen día. ¿Duermes bien?" Jahzara asked
(Good morning. You sleep good?)
"Mmh, Yeah. ¿Qué hacen levantados tan temprano? Te tomé como alguien que duerme hasta la tarde los fines de semana." Carmén asked
(What are doing up so early? I took you as someone who sleep until the afternoon on the weekends.)
"Normalmente hago eso, pero sé que mis padres me están esperando." Jahzara said
(I do usually do that but I know my parents are expecting me.)
"Haz el desayuno conmigo antes de irte." Carmén suggested
(Make breakfast with me before you go.)
"De todos modos no quería irme." Jahzara said as she shrugged her shoulders
(Ok. I didn't want to leave anyway.)
"Sé que por eso me ofrecí. Quieres quedarte conmigo tanto tiempo como puedas, ¿no?)
(I know that's why I offered. You wanna stay with me as long as you can, don't you?)
"Ya sabes. Ven a darme un abrazo." Jahzara said as she held her arms out
(You know. Come give me a hug.)
Carmén got out of her bed and walked up to the girl, wrapping her arms around the girl.
"Gracias." Jahzara said as she pulled back and smiled at the girl
"De nada. ¿Qué quieres hacer para el desayuno?" Carmén asked
(What do wanna make for breakfast?)
"Mmm. Me gustan los gofres, el tocino y los huevos. ¿Te gusta que?" Jahzara said
(Hmm. I like waffles, bacon and eggs. You like that?)
"Eso es lo mejor. Dame diez minutos. Estaré listo." Carmén said as she went to go get some clothes on
(That's the best. Give me ten minutes. I'll be ready.)
"De acuerdo. Tome su tiempo." Carmén said
(Ok. Take your time.)
Carmén laughed as she picked out her clothes and entered the bathroom.
The girls walked into the kitchen and got the ingredients and equipment they needed to cook.
They were now making the waffles and its safe to say the start was not great.
"Carmen, pensé que sabías cocinar." Jahzara said as she saw a slightly burnt waffles on the plate
(Carmén, I thought you could cook.)
"Puedo hornear. Esta es la primera vez que hago gofres."Carmén said as she grimaced
(I can bake. This kinda my first time making waffles.)
"Muy bien, supongo que no está mal para ser tu primera vez. Pero limitémonos a hornear." Jahzara said teasingly
(Alright I guess it's not bad for your first time. But let's stick to baking.)
"Oye, estás actuando como si fueras el mejor cocinando." Carmén said
(Hey, you're acting like you're the best at cooking.)
"En realidad soy bastante buena." Jahzara said proudly
(I'm pretty good actually.)
"Bueno, tendré que verlo." Carmén said as she smiled
(Well I'll have to see that.)
"Algún día te haré el desayuno." Jahzara said, wanting to prove to her she was good at cooking
(I'll make you breakfast some day.)
"Lo espero con ansias. Saquemos este antes de quemarlo nuevamente." Carmén said as she opened the waffles machine
(I look forward to it. Let's take this one out before we burn it again.)
"Antes de quemarlo." Jahzara said as she playfully corrected her
(Before you burn it.)
"Lo que sea Jahzara." Carmén said as she smiled and rolled her eyes at her
(Whatever Jahzara.)
"Todavía puedes hornear para mí en cualquier momento." Jahzara said, remembering her cookies she made
(You can still bake for me anytime.)
"Supongo que lo haré. Te sorprenderé." Carmén said
(I guess I will. I'll surprise you.)
"No puedo esperar." Jahzara said
(I can't wait.)
"Comamos." Carmén said as she grabbed their plates
(Lets eat.)
The girls sat down at the table and taste their food.
"Hmm no está mal." Jahzara said
(Hmm it's not bad.)
"Está bueno ¿no?" Carmén asked
(It's good isn't it?)
"Supongo. Pero no mejor que la mía." Jahzara teased
(I guess. But not better than mine.)
"Te gusta." Carmén said as she rolled her eyes
(You like it.)
"Sí. Te enseñaré algunos trucos para que puedas competir con el mío." Jahzara joked
(I do. I'll teach you some tricks so you can compete with mine.)
"Muy bien Chef Jones." Carmén joked
(Alright Chef Jones.)
"Me gusta el sonido de eso. Podría convertirme en chef." Jahzara said
(I like the sound of that. I might become a chef.)
"Probaré algo de tu comida antes de que empieces a adelantarte." Carmén said
(I'll taste test some of your food before you start getting ahead of yourself.)
"Te gustará." Jahzara said
(You'll like it.)
The girls sat up and went back to the bathroom to brush their teeth after they had washed the dishes.
Jahzara grabbed her stuff and Carmén walked her to the front door.
"Uugh, no quiero ir." Jahzara said dramtically
(Uugh, I don't wanna go.)
"Lo sé. Lo sé. Pero ya llevas mucho tiempo aquí." Carmén said as she opened the door
(I know. I know. But you've been over here long enough.)
"Intentas deshacerte de mí Carmén? Pensé que me amabas." Jahzara said jokingly
(You tryna get rid of me Carmén? I thought you loved me.)
"Cálmate. Sólo digo que es hora de que te vayas a casa. Te amo. Sabes que te quiero conmigo." Carmén said
(Calm down. I'm just saying it's time for you to go home. I love you. You know I want you with me.)
"Deja de sonreír tanto. No puedo decirte nada." Carmén said as she smiled herself
(Stop smiling so hard. Can't tell you nothing.)
"Yo también te amo." Jahzara said as he smiled at her lovingly
(I love you too.)
"Adiós Jahzara." Carmén said as she rolled her eyes, knowing she wasn't going to leave unless she made her
(Bye Jahzara.)
"Besos." Jahzara said ad she pointed to her lips
(Kisses.)
"Eres tan pegajos." Carmén said
(You're so clingy.)
"Lo amas." Jahzara said as she smirked
(You love it.)
Carmén inched closer to the girl's face and connected their lips. She moved her lips softly against hers before she pecked them and backed away from the girl.
"Adiós Carmen." Jahzara said as she hugged her
(Bye Carmén.)
"Adiós Jahzara. Te amo." Carmén said as she blew her kisses
(Bye Jahzara. I love you.)
"Yo también te amo. Hasta luego." Jahzara said as she walked into the hallway
(I love you too. See you later.)
Carmén closed the door and smiled before she turned around to go back to her room.
"Ay dios mío. ¿La besaste? ¿Están saliendo?" Carmén heard Ariellé say suddenly and excitedly
(Oh my God. You kissed her? Are you guys dating?)
"Jesús, haz un poco de ruido Ariellé." Carmén said as she put her hand on her chest, showed front the sudden noise
(Jesus, make some noise Ariellé.)
Lo siento. ¡¡Pero ustedes están saliendo!!" Ariellé said
(Sorry. But are you guys dating!!)
"Sí. Sí. Eres demasiado ruidoso. Es demasiado temprano para eso." Carmén said
(Yes. Yes. You too loud. It's too early in the morning for that.)
"¿Dijiste que tú y Jahzara están saliendo? Gracias al señor ha llegado el día. Tengo que decírselo a la madre de Jahzara." Carmén's mother said as she came around to the kitchen
(You said you and Jahzara are dating? Thank the lord the day has come. I have to tell Jahzara's mother.)
"Ok. Chicos, ustedes son raros. Voy a volver a mi habitación." Carmén said as she furrowed her eyebrows at their reaction
(You guys are weird. I'm going back to my room.)
Carmén went into her room and closed her door. She went to call Jahzara.
"Ya me extrañas?" Jahzara asked with a smirk after she accepted her call
(You miss me already?)
"No te adelantes. Tú eres quien contestó tan rápido. De todos modos te llamé para decirte algo." Carmén said as she rolled her eyes at her playfully
(Don't get ahead of yourself. You're the one who picked up so fast. Anyway I called to tell you something.)
"Qué es?" Jahzara asked as she focused on the road
(What is it?)
"Mi mamá y mi hermana nos vieron y ahora se lo va a contar a tu mamá. Prepárate. Sé cómo van a ser." Carmén said
(My mom and sister saw us and now she's gonna tell your mom. Brace yourself. I know how they're gonna be.)
"¿Ellas estaban felices verdad?" Jahzara asked
(They were happy right?)
"Por supuesto. Ellos te aman. Me tratas mejor, ¿por qué estarían preocupados?" Carmén said, reassuring her
(Of course. They love you. You treat me the best, why would they be worried?)
"Sólo quiero asegurarme. Mamí estará extasiada. Probablemente encargaría un libro de fotografías para nosotros." Jahzara said as she sighed
(Just wanna make sure. Mamí gonna be ecstatic. She'd probably gonna order a photo book for us.)
"Puedo verla haciendo eso." Carmén said as she chuckled
(I can see her doing that.)
"Sí, y mi hermano se burlará de mí." Jahzara said as she rolled her eyes
(Yeah and my brother's gonna tease me.)
"Sobrevivirás. Déjame colgar para no estrellarte." Carmén said
(You'll survive. Lemme hang up so you don't crash.)
"Aww estas preocupado por mi." Jahzara said ad she smiled
(Aww you concerned for me.)
"Sí, Jahzara. Colgar el teléfono." Carmén said as she rolled her eyes at her antics
(Yes Jahzara. Hang up the phone.)
"Adiós Carmen." Jahzara said
(Bye Carmén.)
"Adiós mi amor." Carmén said
(Bye my love.)
"My love?" Jahzara said to herself with a big smile on her face after Carmén hung the phone
Jahzara got home safely in about 7 minutes. She unlocked the door with her apartment key.
"Mamí, Papí. I'm home." Jahzara announced as she closed the door once she got in
"Bebé, I heard you and Carmén are together!! I'm so happy. She such a nice girl. When did you ask her?" Isabella asked, full of energy
"Alright, alright. Can I put my stuff down? Tranquila mamí." Jahzara said as she placed her things on the couch
(Calm down Mamí.)
"Lo siento cariño." Jahzara's mother said apologetically
(Sorry baby.)
"She told me first and then I asked her right before we went to sleep." Jahzara said as she sat on the couch
"Aww, bebé that's so cute. I'll get you two a photo book for all of your memories." Isabella said
"I knew you were gonna do this." Jahzara said as she rolled her eyes
"Cómo te lo dijo?" Her mother asked curiously
(How'd she tell you?)
"She gave me a love letter. It was so cute and thoughtful." Jahzara said with a smile as she remembered the note she had taken with her
"Ustedes dos son demasiado lindas." Her mother said as she smiled
(You two are too cute.)
"What yall screaming for?" Aaron said as he walked down the hallway
"Jahzara and Carmén are together." Isabella said
"Congratulations baby. I take it you told and it went well." Aaron said as he gave his daughter a hug
"Well she told me first. She gave me a letter." Jahzara said
"That's cute. I wish I did sumn like that wit yo mama. I just put some flowers outside her door and she saw me." Aaron said as he relived his memory
"Papí that so embarrassing." Jahzara said as she chuckled
"It was cute. The thought counts." Isabella said
"Yeah the thought counts. See we got married." Aaron said
"Can I bring here over one day. I'm gonna cook breakfast for her one day. She doesn't believe in my amazing cooking skills. Hers are not bad though." Jahzara said
"Of course bebé." Her mother responded
"Ok. Gracias." Jahzara said before she went to her room
"Hey Zara. Escuché que tú y Carmen estáis juntos ahora. Me alegra que finalmente se lo hayas contado. Se estaba volviendo insoportable." Jahmere said
(I heard you and Carmén are together now. I'm glad you finally told her. It was getting unbearable.)
"No estábamos tan mal. ¿Era tan obvio?" Jahzara asked
(We weren't that bad. It was that obvious?)
"It was. Mamí,me, Ariellé and her mom tried to set yall up. It worked so you're welcome." Jahmere said
"We figured yall set us up. Yall was not being discreet bout it at all. But thank you." Jahzara said before she went in her room
Jahzara smiled at how everyone was happy that she and Carmén were together.
