Noises, faint and weak noises are everywhere... He tries to move, he can't. He tries to open his eyes to look around, he can't neither. His body is way too weak, he hates feeling weak...

He also feels cold, too cold. His arms feel empty. His chest feels heavy.

Something... No, someone important is missing, she's not close to him anymore... Where is she?... Where is he?

A sudden flash of light illuminated the room, making the maskless man cringe and try to look away but something stopped his body from moving. His eyes where closed but the sudden contrast still hurt.

If everything already seemed bad, what he heard next made things even worse...

—"What have you done to yourself, huh Michael?..."—

That voice... That god damn voice...

The boiling anger and hate made the man slowly regain the strength in his body, enough to open his icy blue eyes and face the one who ruined his and the ones he loves lives...

Tho... He notices that he can only see with one eye... Huh?

—"See you're awake... I didn't expect less from you. Since early years I knew you are more than a simple patient."—

The old man, Dr. Loomis, shook his head and began to walk towards the larger man.

—"Haven't seen your face in a long long time..."— he says thoughtfully. —"Your eyes are still the same abyss despite one of them being damaged, guess nothing changed."—

Michael wanted to look away, cover his face with his own hair but his body still didn't move. That's when he realized he was practically chained to his own bed. Now he wasn't wearing a simple belt with fragile chains, but a straight jacket that was reinforced with some extra chains and leather belts. The disrespect didn't stop there because he also had a collar that kept him chained to a wall, as well as a... Muzzle? ...What?

Loomis seemed to noticed Michael's light confusion and simply shrugs.

—"About that... Yeah, this sanatorium is not fooling around like Smith's Grove, they took notice of all your tricks and designed a system to prevent you from escaping."—

Michael throws a hateful glare at Loomis, thing that made the old man slightly flinch.

The doctor didn't see that coming from the large man since his patient would always zoon out durning their meeting and never acknowledged him, but now it's different... Absolutely all of Michael's attention was focused on Loomis.

—"So now you want to listen to me... That's new, did you missed me so much, Michael?"—

No response.

The old man simply sighs and walks even closer, standing practically next to the bed where Michael was chained to.

—"Why don't you ever want to talk to me, Michael? I've been there for you for years, I always told you can trust me and it's safe to open up... So why? Why you still refuse to do so?"—

Liar. It's never safe and never was. Loomis doesn't give a damn about what Michael wants or thinks, he is just a test subject and a wild animal that need to be observed and studied... There was no trust or intentions in helping him in the first place.

And as expected no answer or movement, silence and heavy breathing were the only sound coming from the large man. Loomis furrows his brows, clearly getting irritated.

—"I just don't understand, why you refuse to do anything for me yet you waited for 15 years to open up to (Y/N)? What does she have that I don't? Huh? What did she do to gain your trust?! Fucking answer Michael!"—

Blank stare into Loomis's eyes.

The doctor balls his fists tightly, it seemed like he wanted to punch Michael to get a single noise from him, any noise!

But he manages to contain himself and instead just lets out a long tired sigh.

—"You're just going to wait for (Y/N), are you?..."—

No response.

—"Well too bad, because (Y/N) is dead."—

The world felt like it stoped, all kind of sounds and life were drained and there was nothing but this room...

Michael's face and expression remained the same, that emotionless and stoic face not changing ones... But inside... Inside was a different story.

—"Yes, she's dead. She died on the spot where the authorities found you two, she was shot in the head... She's gone."— he locks his eyes with Michael. —"(Y/N) is not here anymore Michael, it's just you and me... So please, don't isolate yourself more because I am the only thing you have Michael... And I'm sure (Y/N) would like you to let me help yo-"—

The old man doesn't finish his sentence when Michael's body suddenly jerked up, having a clear intention to stand up and attack the doctor, completely ignoring the pain from his patched wounds. However, the restrains did their job and kept Michael on his bed no matter how much he struggled and pushed forward.

Despite the aggressive movements of the large man Loomis was able to see Michael's face, his expression... Anger, he saw nothing but anger and hate.

Even tho Michael's intentions were violent, Loomis couldn't help but to be fascinated that he got a reaction from his patient.

But what Loomis failed to see were Michael's eyes, yes they were filled with immense hate but also deep down they expressed pain, extreme pain. The realization of not having (Y/N) with him anymore hurt like hell, and the fact that he still can feel her warmth and body cradled in his arms hurts even more, because that feeling will never come true again, it will never repeat... It will remain a memory, a sweet little memory...

Seeing that Michael isn't calming down, Loomis just sighs and shakes his head.

—"Guess you're not in the mood for chatting, probably I should've kept my mouth closed."— he starts to walk towards the exit but stops. —"You still have the chance to reconsider your behavior Michael... You're recklessness took (Y/N)'s life, and you don't want to commit the same mistake with me and be left completely alone... Would you?"—

That question only made Michael's attempts to break his restrains more violent, he was completely pissed with Loomis's audacity to talk about 'his' mistakes.

—"Take your time to think, I'll check on you tomorrow. Good night Michael."—

And just like that Michael was left completely alone in his room. He struggled some more but eventually gave up and sat back on the bed, gaze focused on the floor.

His mind was cruel, repeating the same images of (Y/N) over and over, her last moments... But the most painful memory was when he left the house to chase that fucker...

Her face... Her yell... Her tone...

"You are going to get me killed!..."

How he wished things went different... That he was different.

Small drops fell into the floor, the man shrinks in his sit a bit.

(Y/N)...

. . .

—"How are you doing Joseph?"— Olivia asks, her tone concerned.

—"Eh, broke two of my ribs and fractured an arm, not too bad."— he carelessly replies.

The trio of Joseph, Melanie and Olivia where currently staying in the lobby area of the hospital, waiting for one of the doctors to arrive.

—"I really hope (Y/N) is okay..."— Olivia comments whilst shrinking in her seat.

—"I do as well."— Joseph simply replies.

—"What's the state you found her in?"— Melanie wonders.

—"Not the best one but could been worse. Many bruises and head trauma from that fight she had with the 'intruder', aka Logan. She also was shot on her abdomen and head, but she got lucky and the bullet barely damaged the skull, she still lost a lot of blood tho."—

—"It's been almost a week, sure she got better by now and will recover in no time, right?"— Olivia asks, her tone almost desperate for an affirmative answer.

—"I wouldn't get my hopes too high Olivia..."— Joseph sighs tiredly and runs his hand through his face. —"All we can do is sit down and pray..."—

The trio fell silent again, not being in the mood to keep chatting because of the sense of dread flowering inside of them. When the silence became too unbearable they decide to start a conversation again.

—"How's the case with Logan? Did the judge recognize him as guilty for breaking in and attacking (Y/N)?"— Melanie asks.

—"You'd be surprised how good at lying that bitch is, tho there aren't many evidences in his favor. Still, the court can't do much due to the lack of proofs, so there will be no actions until (Y/N) wakes up and give her testimony."—

—"But overall that dog has his days of freedom counted, so that's a win!"— Olivia comments with a slightly happier tone.

—"I hope so..."— Joseph goes silent for a moment whilst his brows furrow. —"Tho I still having a funny feeling about all of this..."—

The two females wanted to ask about it but the sound of footsteps going directly towards them stopped that attempt. The trio looked to their side to be greeted by the doctor, a middle aged man with a tired yet calm expression.

Olivia instantly stands up.

—"Is everything okay? Is (Y/N) (L/N) alright? What are the results?"— she anxiously asks.

The doctor just sighs and shakes his head lightly, his expression saddening a bit.

—"Miss (L/N) is stable, the blood transfusion was done the very first day and her injuries were already treated and patched as well. Physically her body should heal just fine in a little while, mentally however..."—

—"What?..."— the three of them ask almost at the same time.

—"Due to the numerous hits she got in her head and the shot, her brain suffered from severe trauma. She will wake up eventually, but there is a possibility she won't recognize or remember anything or anyone."—

—"What are the chances for this to happen?"— Joseph asks, his expression serious.

—"A large one, unfortunately... Of corse, there is also a chance she will eventually remember everything or part of what happened, but... That chance is slim, very slim..."— the doctor gives them an apologetic look. —"Let's not make any conclusions yet, Miss (L/N) has to wake up first, and then we'll see."—

—"Can we at least... See her?"— Olivia wonders.

—"I..."— the doctor pauses. —"I'm not supposed to allow this, but after all your friend had to go through I can make an exception. It's the least I can do for the one who survived Myers."—

The doctor gives a nod towards one of the hallways, indicating the group to follow.

Whilst the trio followed the man, Olivia snuck closer to Joseph and whispers.

—"{I can't believe you guys actually changed the story.}"—

—"{Don't blame me, blame the police department. If the truth was revealed they would be a huge joke to the whole state, so changing the story and making (Y/N) be one of Myers's victims is the easiest way to preserve the image.}"—

—"{This is cruel...}"— Melanie comments, her voice saddened.

—"{Indeed it is, the world is a bitch sometimes...}"—

When the group reached the designated door in a pretty empty hallway, the doctor opened the door and allowed them to enter.

The three of them fell into an even deeper silence when they saw (Y/N). The female had a peaceful yet tired expression, some bruises and bandages visible through the blanket and her hospital grown. There was a tube with some liquid connected to one of her wrist, probably some painkillers.

—"So what now?"— Melanie suddenly asks.

—"We just... Stay in here for a bit, I guess..."— Joseph sighs and sits on a little chair right next to your bed.

And so they did, the three friend stayed in the same room with (Y/N), chatting with each other time to time in hope that she would hear their voices. And maybe, just maybe, wake up sooner...

. . .

The engine of the car turned off, the old man stays in place for a couple of seconds as if rethinking his decisions and following actions.

With a moody sigh Loomis exits the car and closes the door loudly. He takes his gaze towards the building... A hospital.

—"Well... Let's see what is so special about you, (Y/N) (L/N)."—
