Just as we walk out of the front door, to go to the training area, I start to get nervous, wondering how all those vampires will take knowing that Caine could possibles cross.
Harry and Nate run up to us "hey Rose, you ok?" Nate asks coming up to me holing my arms and looking over my body, earning a husky growl from Marcus
I role my eyes and Nate scoffs "yes I'm fine Nate, haven't had to use my bad ass moves on anyone yet" I joke with a nervous laugh
"Must have had a great teacher" Nate says and we both smile
I know even at this time Nate can make me smile
"Come on" Caden says and we all follow him into the woods, Harry keeping very close behind me and Nate next to him.
We come up to an opening where I see a small platform, just above the ground nothing on it just over looking a huge crowd of vampires. All there eyes snap to where we exit out of the woods and my grip on Marcus's arm tightens.
He looks down at me and smiles, he's nervous and worried, I wouldn't even need to be his mate to know that. He walks up on the platform, his authority and power rolling off of him and I can't help but smile proudly up at him. He motions for me to follow, surprised I hurriedly walk up next to him, his arm wraps around my waist and he faces back to the hundred for black eyes, they must be hungry.
Slowly Nate, Jade, Caden, and Harry come up on the platform "hello everybody, as you know my brother is the meaning for you all joining my army and coming to training. He's also the meaning for this meeting, he has called me and told me he is coming" his voice at a normal level but his tone hard, I watch as his face becomes tense and his grip on my waist tightens "as you all know this is my mate Rose and as your lords mate she is just as important, if not more, than me. You will protect and respect her, none of us know how many of his vampires will come and we don't know if he knows about my army but we have to be ready, I want half of you to feed" he instructs, I look out to the crowd and there black eyes are focused on Marcus "spread out through my side of the border, wait till night fall and be full but no killing will be allowed, the other half will stay here and be on border control, then you will switch" he explains
"You heard him, split" Caden says and the whole left side of the field is cleared of vampires, all gone in a flash "I guess that's border control for the rest of you" he says and the rest of the field is cleared just as I blink
I sigh in relief at the thought of all those vampires protecting and watching over the border. Marcus wraps both arms around me and I lay my head on his chest, hugging his large perfect body "ready to go home?" He asks as his chest vibrates against my cheek
"Yes please" I say
He squeezes me one last time and takes my hand in his, leading us off the platform "hey you ok?" Nate asks and I nod with a small smile
I pull my phone out and it's only 10:45 a.m Marcus looks down at me "are you tired?" He asks and I nod
All six of us walk through the dense woods, the loud crunch of dead leaves break the silence. We finally come out of the woods to Marcus's house "I think I should go feed with the rest of the vampires, I haven't fed in a while" Harry says and I turn to him
"Yeah me too, been too busy training my little prodigy" Nate winks at me and I laugh lightly
"Alright, be back soon" Marcus says pulling me to him
"Try not to hurt yourself while I'm gone" Harry says with a small sad grin, I can tell he's trying to joke but I know he's serious
"No promises" I play along but nod telling him I'll try
He nods back and turns to Nate, Nate laughs and punches him in the arm "Race ya' " He says and Harry chuckles
"You're on" Harry and Nate take off and are out of sight within a second
I turn back to Caden and Jade, her head is tucked away in the crook of his neck, body's hugged tightly together "I think we're going to go, Marcus I'll come by later tonight and we can discus everything, I think our mates need some rest" he says kissing Jades head
"I agree, I'll see you then" Marcus says, nodding
"Bye guys, see you later" I wave to them, Jade waves back with a small worried smile and Caden does a curt nod and smiles walking away, then disappearing all together
I look up to Marcus and his face instantly softens looking at me "come on" he leads me by the small of my back up to the house
I'm not sure why I'm so tired but all this stress is taking a lot of energy out of me. We walk into his bedroom and I feel my phone vibrate, I pull it out and Ambers contact pops up
*hey Rose how did the meeting go? Luke's father called a meeting as well, all the werewolves in the area know what's going on, they're worried and they don't like that they're being pulled into this but don't worry Luke calmed them all down and convinced them to do anything they can to help, I'll see you tomorrow, I hope everything went well* her text reads and I sigh in relief
I text her back saying *the meeting went good, they're feeding and setting up border control so we can all feel a little safer, I'm sorry to bring everyone into this and I hope it ends soon*
Yes I feel bad for pulling in a whole other species but honestly we need all the help we can get. We don't know how many of his vampires are coming, we don't know how powerful or strong they are, we don't know what he knows, we don't even know when they're coming... and I'm scared.
"Amber texted me, the packs know" I turn and tell Marcus
"Ok good" he sighs taking off his shoes and shirt exposing his sculptures toned chest
He comes up to me and hugs my small frame, the warmth of his body radiating onto mine. I slip my shoes off and crawl up to the bed snuggling into the blankets. Marcus follows and his hand slips up my shirt as he crawls in bed next to me, his fingers move up and down my side lightly. Goose bumps stick up on my skin and I scoot closer to him looking up at his beautiful eyes "we'll get through this right?" I ask raising my hand and brushing a strand of dark hair off his forehead
"We will and we'll do it together" he caresses my cheek "I swear I'll protect you"
I nod and smile, I lay my head on his chest and his fingers run softly up and down my back now. "I love you my sweet Rose" he kisses my head and a blush raises to my cheeks, I never get tired of him saying my name
"I love you to Marcus" I snuggle as close to him as I can and fall asleep in minutes

I'm in a room all alone, it's dark and my hands are tied tightly around my back. I look around frantically, my breathing fast and rugged "hello?!" I scream, tears brimming at my eyes
I try to untie my hands but it's no use, the ropes rubbing and burning my skin. I hear a door open and my eyes snap to it, a man appears. I can't make out his face but he suddenly grabs my hair and wipes me forward throwing me on the ground. I feel the sting of the concert colliding with my soft flesh and cutting deep into it.
"Who are you?!" I scream trying to sit up and back away but he's to fast and his knee slams into my face
I hear a loud crack and a bust of warm liquid start to trickle down my face. I cry out in pain and he grabs my chin forcing me to look in his eyes. I gasp at what I see, my fathers eyes, the angry green and furious blue pierce through me but suddenly his eyes turn a different color...a darker color, before I can think his hand slaps my face and the tingle remains as his hand then caresses my pulsing cheek "always been such a bad daughter baby girl" he says and I want to throw up
Tears pour down my aching face as his laugh echoes in my ears "shh shh, wouldn't want him to hear" he says and I hear the quiet voice of Marcus
"I love you" he says and I smile through my pain trying to crawl to the sound of his voice
I form the special words in my mouth, once again he's here to save me from my father but just as I begin to speak I hear a feminine voice say "I love you too Marcus" she says and my eyes widen...heart sinking
"No" I whisper and crawl backwards trying to get my hands free so I can chase after him
"Oh yes sweetie" my father grins evilly, walking towards me and the tears fall faster "you're no longer his one and only" he chuckles and suddenly we appear in another room
I see Marcus and try to pull myself towards him but a blonde woman appears and there lips begin to move fiercely and hungrily against "no! God please no!" I yell
I reach for them, Trying with every muscle in my body to crawl but it's like I'm trapped, glued to the ground. I try to scream out to him but my voice is suddenly muted as I watch the love of my life kissing another woman. My father laughs watching my struggle and I cry, my heart breaking as I'm forced to watch.

Suddenly I'm julted awake
I sit up in bed, tears pour down my face and my breathing no where near normal. I look around and Marcus isn't in here, I slap my hand over my heart feeling it thud against my ribs. I run my hand over my face and not a trace of blood or scrapes appear on it.
I swing my legs over the bed and run my fingers through my hair. Looking out the window the sun is already setting, wow I slept forever. I hear loud foot steps running up the stairs and Marcus swings around the door frame "what's wrong?!" He appears by me on his knees clutching my upper arms and looking over my body "I felt your emotions, you're scared to death" his hands cupping my cheeks "you're white as a sheet, what happened?"
I take his face between my hands and bring my lips to his, needing to replace the thought of his lips on another woman. His lips are warm and inviting, hard and demanding, and soft and sweet "where were you?!" I ask my hand in his hair
"I was down stairs talking to Caden, I didn't want to wake you" he says holding my wrist, waves of worry flow off of him and onto me
A tear slips down my cheek and I hug him, he stands up and picks me up, he sits on the bed and cradles me as I clutch to him and fist his shirt "I'm sorry" I try to hold in my sobs and shake my head pretending everything's fine "I'm fine" I don't look up at him because I know he would catch me in my lie
"No you're not, tell me" he says
"It was just a really bad dream" I tell him
He pecks my lips "do you want to talk about it?" He asks and I shake my head vigorously "ok well don't worry about it, you're here with me, you're safe" he says and kisses my forehead
I sit in his arms for a little longer enjoying his presents, my dream slowly leaving my thoughts as ever minute with him passes "do you want to come down stairs? Jade's here" he says softly standing and taking my hand, I nod walking with him
I try to keep the horrible dream out of my mind but my god it was the worst dream I think I've ever had. I felt everything, I felt the sting of his hand against my face and the heart break of watching my soul mate kissing another woman. I look out and see Jade running up the stairs "hey are you ok? Marcus ran off like a maniac" she says coming by me
"Yeah I'm fine just a bad dream" I nod reassuring her
"You look pretty pale, come on let's get you some food, I'm hungry" she says "Marcus you got any food?" She asks and I giggle
"Seeing as my mate is human of course I have food" he scoffs and we walk down the stairs
"I'll be in my office with Caden if you need me" he says bending down and kissing my lips sweetly, the image of my dream pops in my head and I block it out
He walks away reluctantly, looking over his shoulder at me. Jade pulls me away and leads me to the kitchen "so how are you taking everything?" I ask sitting on one of the stools, hoping she won't ask about my dream
"Honestly? I'm worried as hell, I mean I didn't think it was even possible they could cross, but I'm glad there's border control, that makes me feel a little better" she says as she rummages through the fridge pulling out some of the pizza we had a few nights ago
"Yeah me to" I tell her and she hands me a slice of pizza that I start nibbling on
"Are you sure you're ok?" She asks looking at me with concern in her eyes
I nod "yeah just a seriously horrid nightmare...it felt so real" I trail off
"Do you...do you think it was Caine?" She asks
I think about it and shake my head "no I don't think so" I tell her and she sighs
"Ok good" she says
We talk more and try to keep our minds off of everything by joking around. By the time Marcus and Caden finish planning everything I'm all giggled out. I almost forgot I had school tomorrow, I know Marcus isn't going to want me to go but I have to, I've missed so much already. Plus this weekend is a long weekend so he can wait till then to protect me every second of the day. We get Monday and Tuesday off next week, Monday's a teacher planning day and Tuesdays senior skip day, so lucky me.
"Bye guys talk to you later" I wave and they wave back as they walk down the stairs to Caden's truck
I turn back to Marcus and I try to talk to him through our mind link. I close my eyes and focus on him and only him I feel a pressure, like I can almost do it but bam nothing. He chuckles "I don't think we're there yet darling" he says leading us up to his room
"When do you think we will be able to?" I ask following behind him
"Probably soon, actually I could feel you wanting to speak" he says and I nod smiling
"I need a shower" I tell him
"Mind if I join" he smirks, I giggle and push at his chest
I walk in the bathroom and strip out of my clothes when I step in the hot water I try and let it relax me but I'm just so worried. I quickly wash my hair and body needing to be near Marcus. When I step out I get dressed in fresh pajamas and walk out to see him already in bed.
"When do you think Nate and Harry will be back?" I ask crawling next to him
"By morning" he says looking at me with love and adoration "I don't think you should go to school tomorrow" he says
I smile groggily "how did I know" I say more to myself than to him "Marcus I have to go, I've missed a lot of school lately" I look up at him and a small pout is present on his face
"But-"
"But nothing they haven't crossed yet-"
"They will, I know they will" his body tenses in anger
"How? you have the spell, plus an army protecting the border"
"He'll find a way" Marcus says through a clenched jaw and gritted teeth
I don't want to think that's true, I mean they can't cross. Those are very powerful vampires protecting it and a very powerful spell "we'll be alright" I reassure him
He doesn't say anything but I know he doesn't believe it. I sigh and lay my head on his chest. We can plan and plan until we have everything down pat but until we find out more we won't be able to do anything. That's why I'm so worried, because Caine is toying with us, he's teasing us and won't tell us what's really going on. I'm just so tired of him, why can't he leave us alone? he's been playing with us since the start and now that me and Marcus are done playing he's ready to strike.
"Stop worrying and go to sleep" he says hugging me close
I tense up in his arms and wrap my arms around him a little tighter. I'm scared to sleep, I don't think I can go through another dream like that again "don't worry I'm here" he says almost like he's reading my mind
I nod against his chest but I don't respond, I close my eyes and try to sleep away my fears. Not even focusing on Marcus's feelings I get a wave of loving thoughts and desire from him, sending me to a deep sleep.
