Dirt crunches beneath the soles of the Mizukage's footwear, whilst she trudged a foggy path. The mist, her village is well known for covered this area thickly, which was why she had chosen it.
Mei Terumi walked without fear of what might be lurking in the mist, she was not a woman who could easily be frightened. Though Mei could not forget that moment, in the battle of the Kages against the infamous fiend: Madara Uchiha.
Never had she once faced such an overwhelming power, Mei thought that would be her last battle, in that moment the Mizukage remembered feeling like every other weak ninja on the battlefield, but she reminded herself that she was a kage, responsible for the lives of her people and the prosperity of her village.
And now three years after the war, life had kept going and they could finally stare peace in the face, there have been some usurpers, but non posed a threat and were quickly discarded of.
' Almost there ' she thought.
Mei goes through hand seals for water style, and when she had met the requirements of seals. The Mizukage stretched her arms out unto both sides, and water manifests on either side like a thick rope. Mei manipulates the waters ahead of her, and causes them to clash and morph into a swirling force.
Mei Terumi brings her arms together, then claps her hands, thus the swirling mass of airborne water, disperses into the air, clearing the fog right after, till a clear path was formed before her; which leads to a small but adequately accommodative stone abode.
A house built brick by brick, and held together by all the strongest elements that were at her disposal. The house was built upon, a rocky foundation protruding out of the center of a river.
Mei approached the river, steps on the water and walks upon it's surface with chakra beneath her soles. Mei arrives before the building, a house without a visible means of entrance, or windows.
Mei places her palm upon the building, and thus a doorway appears, along with windows, that were sealed off by chakra and elemental mechanics. Mei proceeds into the house, and the doorway seals off behind her, excluding the windows.
Foggy fresh air rushes in, and fills the interior of the house. The miniature light of day, which had managed to penetrate the fogs shed light into the dark interior.
Her Jade eyes went towards the couch, then it flickers towards the fireplace which had lit up with fire, and she watched.
Whilst Mei stood her back to the sealed doorway, a man with jet-black hair walked into the living room through the Kitchen which it's entrance was to the right of the fire place.
The man appeared to be in his late twenties, a attractive abyss for eyes, donned in blue shorts, half naked with only an apron covering his upper body. The man came in with a bowl of steaming ramen, he walked over to the table at the center of the living room, whilst Mei was seated on the couch.
" Honey, you shouldn't focus on work too much. Put some food in your belly first, " the man would say.
And Mei with loads of paperwork at her side, would get up from the couch and walk over to the table, the man would bring a stool over and she would sit upon it. Taking up her chopsticks, she would have a taste of the noodles and it would feel like heaven in her mouth.
A little while into eating the meal, the man pecks her on the right cheek, and kiss her down to the side of her neck, his hand would snake around Mei Terumi's waist. Mei loving the touch, gets up and wraps her arms around the man's neck.
Right there and then, they would begin to kiss, a kiss that would lead them to the bedroom, and shut the door behind them. At that, all the images faded away, and Mei was brought back to reality.
" Cold and empty " she said to herself.
Mei walks over to the couch, and lays down covering herself properly with her cloak. She shuts her eyes close, wishing when she opens them things would be different. And as she drifted off into slumber, Mei was thrown into a long dream that she would barely be able to recollect half of it.
But the things she would remember, meant more than anything she's done in thirty-eight years of existing...
Within the realm of dreams, Mei Terumi finds herself trying to find her way through a crowd of spectators, her goal was to see the spectacule as well. And she pushed and shoved anybody in her way, in the dead of the night, which was without an ounce of fog.
Eventually Mei made it out of the crowd, and into the center stage of the spectacule, which had the crowd around in a circle to watch under the light of a moon. But the moon had nothing on this spectacule, as it shined bright like the sun, and brimmed with majestic golden-orange flames.
Mei lifted her gaze, and there stood the spectacule, a young man standing 180cm tall, with low spiky glowing hair and an outstandingly beautiful piercing blue eyes staring straight into her soul. And all she could whisper at the sight was,
" Y.... A.... M.... ".
The Mizukage kage awoke with a start, heart beating against her chest rapidly, and her stomach filled with odd sensations.
" What was I trying to say? " she asked herself with neither the recollection of what she whispered, or the face of the person she dreamt of.
A few minutes after her heart had settled down, she glanced to the windows, and it was dark out, at the sight her eyes widened.
" I overslept, " she said getting up and sprinting towards the sealed doorway.
Mei opens up her exit, and left the house, running as fast as she could back to the Mizukage residence...
Later Mei was scaling up the high building wall of the Mizukage residence, right above her was the window she had leaped from. Mei decided to walk around it, and stand at the left, after reaching the left position, Mei began to hear Chojuro's panicked voice.
' Damn it, my clone must have disappeared since I fell asleep ' Mei thought.
Mei Terumi takes a peek inside her office, seeing Chojuro search around in the spacious room, in which there is little to nothing to hide in it's open space. Mei expected Chojuro to leave, but he didn't, she waited for five minutes and he was still there, and strangely, Mei didn't feel like revealing herself to him.
' No one can find out about my hideout, I already deal with enough '.
The Mizukage kage thus decided to take another route to get back to her official residence, whilst using the time as an advantage to avoid running into Chojuro.
Mei Terumi leaps off, backflipping down into the fog... A few minutes later, Mei Terumi was already on her way to the Mizukage residence, when she spotted a crowd forming in an area not so far from it, at this she lifts up her emerald eyes, and thus spots the big white moon in the night.
" Impossible, " she says to herself.
Mei Terumi changes her direction, and went towards the increasing crowd, as she walked into the crowd, she began to get hit by a sense of deja Vu, as it began to unfold once again before her eyes. Mei was merely repeating the same actions, without even trying, it was a necessity to shove and push those people out of her way.
Mei proceeded forward, and as she did the mist that usually covered the area had faded into nothing, and everything was clearer than ever before. Mei shoves one last person out of her way, and she made it into the center stage, where the man in her dream stood.
Mei Terumi's eyes lifts up, and standing before her was a familiar yet unfamiliar young man, unlike the dream, he was not glowing like the sun, but one thing changed not, those piercing blue eyes.
Naruto looked at the Mizukage in the eyes, through the eye holes of her mask, and she remembered exactly what she had whispered,
" You are mine ".
" Excuse us... Sorry, sorry, "
Sai and Kiba came forcing their way through the crowd, to make it into the open space at the midst of the spectators which had circled around the war hero.
" You prick, you shouldn't have just gone off like that, what the hell were you trying to accomplish! " Kiba said, glaring at the blue eyed hero.
Naruto turns on his heels, and lifts his left arm up and point his index in the direction of the colossal figure.
" That. " He said.
Mei Terumi's eyes followed the length of his arm, to the direction he pointed his finger, and her eyes set as well upon a twenty meter tall majestic golden statue of Naruto Uzumaki, whilst he was in Kurama's chakra mode.
- A little while earlier -
Naruto sat flying on the ink bird drawn by Sai, whilst they crossed into the Land of water. The more they advanced, the thicker the fog became, making it more difficult for them to see.
" This really isn't cool, why has this place got to be so foggy " Kiba complained, " I can hardly see you guys " he added.
" Naruto, you should do something about the fog, before your friends end up crashing " Kurama advised.
" Yeah " He replied.
Naruto brings his palm together, he closes his eyes briefly and when he reopens it, they had become yellow and cross-slit. Thus he extends both his palms out, and the mist which had enveloped them began to gather, and swirl into spheres above each of his palms. Instead of the spheres to become bigger, with more mist gathered, it shrunk and condensed into a similar mass as Naruto's rasengan.
Within the span of twenty seconds, Sai and Kiba had returned into his view, the mist which had separated them had cleared off. Kiba and Sai glanced about, wondering what just happened for a moment, before noticing the faint noise in the air.
Their eyes went towards Naruto, whom they then witnessed to be responsible for the sudden miracle.
' How is he doing that? Has Naruto learned another jutsu we don't know about? ' Kiba thought.
' That's really impressive of Naruto, but what Jutsu is that, I've never heard or seen it before ' thought Sai.
" Naruto do you notice? ", ' yes, this mists are composed of Natural energy ' Naruto replied.
" Then you're in luck, since this mists have been around for so long, they are even more stronger than the typical Natural energy in Konoha " said Kurama.
' The energy within this mists are as potent as the ones in Mount myoboku '.
The birds kept flying in the direction of the Hidden Mist village, and whilst they advanced and the ambiance became clearer, due to Naruto's six paths senjutsu. Naruto began to notice a figure in the distance, which was kilometers away.
" What is that? " He whispered to himself.
Naruto infuses chakra into his nerve system, enhancing the visual range of his eyes. Thus allowing Naruto's sight to traverse the long distance, and for a moment he was hindered by his absorption of Natural energy, causing the mist which still heavily covered the hidden mist to prevent him from seeing that colossal figure.
' I need to get closer '.
Naruto rises up to his feet, ran upon the bird, and before taking off, Naruto boosts the height and distance of his jump, by forming a potent spiralling sphere within the spheres of mist.
This results in a clash of both Natural energy, and his own innate chakra, resulting in a fulmination powerful enough to blast him off the bird, and the drawn hawk met it's tragic end in that moment.
" What the fuck! " Kiba exclaimed...
Not too long after his take off, Naruto lands within the town square of the hidden mist; Naruto takes a brief look down at the decimation the soles of his feet, through his Shinobi sandals had caused to his area of impact.
" Hmm, that's pretty cool " He said.
Naruto's eyes looked about, and unsurprisingly he wasn't alone in the town square, Naruto seeing through the mist noticed people has had their attention seized by the noise of his crash.
Standing still, Naruto's body kept on absorbing the Natural energy in the ambiance, as a result the mists began to fade. Though he failed to realize his eyes were no longer in their yellow cross-slit appearance, by which the ability to absorb Natural energy would be available to him. . .
Kiba's eyes looked also to the statue in marvel, shocked beyond words, Sai was not too surprised, having had prior knowledge of the surprise which awaited Naruto.
Naruto dips his hands into the pockets of his hoodie, and turns fully to gaze upon the glorious statue. At the sight Naruto's eyes fill up with tears, till they dropped, whilst the blond had a wistful smile on his face.
' Mom, Dad, pervy sage, Neji, Nagato San. Everyone who died believing in me, if you can see this. Thank you, thank you for believing in me. From this moment on, I will keep on running towards peace ' He vowed.
Everyone who witnessed marveled at the sight of Naruto's tears, thinking to themselves,
' shedding his tears without fear... A true symbol of peace... Hero indeed... '
" How long did it take to build it? Mizukage sama " Naruto asked his eyes affixed to the statue.
Mei Terumi felt the hypnotic spell she had found herself in, through the allure of Naruto's demeanor and tears, shatter under the sound of his deep and masculine voice. On the spot Mei processed Naruto's question as fast as she could, not to seem like an halfwit she isn't.
" More than two and a half years, everyone in the village pitched in. " Mei informed.
Naruto at the Mizukage's response turned around and faces her, he looked at her with a pair of oceans filled with gratitude and thus he goes down unto his knees, sat back on his legs and laid his upper body forward with his arms positioned to signify his bow.
Mei, Sai, Kiba, and everyone's eyes went wide with increased marvel, after ten seconds Naruto got back up and gave the same bow for everyone in the village.
Thirty seconds passed before Mei decided to intervene, she approached him and took him by the left arm, lifting him. By the hand she holds him up unto his feet, both their arm went up into the air.
" The war hero, savior of the Shinobi world is here! " Mei Terumi exclaims loud enough for every soul in the town square to hear.
Naruto looked down at Mei, and she also lifts her emerald eyes to meet his, then after a few seconds both bursted out laughing. Then, Mei stops and says
" Welcome to Kirigakure Naruto Uzumaki ".
