Chris toddled into the living room, his blanket still in hand, pacifier still in mouth as he approached the couch, peeking around to see what Matt was doing, catching the older on his phone.
"Da?" He called, his teary eyes glossing over as he ran towards him, crashing onto Matt's lap as Matt began peppering kisses on his head, holding him as he cried.
"What happened?" Matt asked, twirling Chris's curls in-between his fingers as Chris looked up at him.
"B-bad dream!" Chris sobbed, crawling further up onto Matt's lap.
"Poor baby," Matt sighed, letting him rest in his lap as he slowly rocked him, "what happened in the dream?"
Chris shook his head, still crying into Matt's chest, "nuu!"
"It's okay, daddy's here, I promise." Matt reassured, continuing to rock him, knowing this wasn't the first, nor the last bad dream Chris has had.
