"Finally." Jahzara said as she, Avana, Jacoby, and Yamara walked out of their 7th period
"I know right. Tired of this place." Yamara said
"Yeah I'm ready to go." Jacoby said
"Ain't that ya girl?" Jacoby as they walked down the hallway
"You mean Carmén?" Jahzara asked
"Yeah, she waiting for you?" Jacoby asked
"Yeah. I'm going over to her house." Jahzara said
"I know her momma don't like you. Coming over to her house everyday." Yamara said with a laugh
"She love me." Jahzara said
"Hi Carmén." Jahzara said while she gave the girl a hug
"Hi Jahzara. Hi." Carmén said while waving her hand to Jahzara's friends
"Hi." They all said back
"I'm Carmén. What are you're names?" Carmén said in English with a little struggle
"We know you girl. Jahzara talks about you all the time." Yamara said. Carmén was a little confused as to what she said but she'd ask Jahzara later
"No I dont." Jahzara said
"Yeah you do. Anyway, I'm Avana." Avana said to Carmén
"I'm Jacoby."
"I'm Yamara."
"Uh, nice to meet you." Carmén said
"Alright bye guys. See you tomorrow." Jahzara said before grabbing Carmén's hand
"Hiciste bien. Puede decir que has estado practicando." Jahzara said as she smiled at the girl
(You did good. I can tell you been practicing.)
"Gracias. Pero, no entendi lo que djoi Yamara." Carmén said
(Thank you. But I didn't understand what Yamara said.)
"Nada importante." Jahzara said
(Nothing important.)
"Entonces dime." Carmén said, knowing it wasn't nothing
(Then tell me.)
"No es nada." Jahzara mumbled again
(It's nothing.)
"Jahzara, dime." Carmén said
(Jahzara tell me.)
"Multa. Ella dijo que hablo de ti todo el tiempo. Lo cual no hago." Jahzara said
(Fine. She said I talk about you all the time. Which I dont.)
"Si no lo hubieras hecho, me lo habrías dicho. Está bien. No te avergüences." Carmén said
(If you didn't, you would've told me. It's ok. Don't be embarrassed.)
"Mmtch, whatever." Jahzara said as they walked out the school, causing Carmén to laugh
"Me amas tanto. Piensas en mí todo el tiempo." Carmén teased
(You love me so much. You think about me all the time.)
"Sí. Tú cómo que." Jahzara said, making Carmén blush
(Yeah. You know that.)
"Toma mi mano." Jahzara said
(Hold my hand.)
"Solna ser yo preguntando eso." Carmén said smugly as she placed her hand in Jahzara's
(Use to be me asking that.)
"Lo que sea. Sé que eres desmasiado tímido para preguntar." Jahzara said
(Whatever. I know you're too shy to ask.)
"De acuerdo Jahzara. Lo que necesites decirte a ti mismo." Carmén said
(Ok Jahzara. Whatever you need to tell yourself.)
The girls walked to Carmén's apartment and made it there at 3:00.
"¿Quieres un bocadillas?" Carmén asked
(You want a snack?)
"Sí. ¿Lo que tienes?" Jahzara asked
(Yeah. What you got?)
"Alguno Doritos y Takis." Carmén responded
(Some Doritos and Takis.)
"Veo una caja de bocadillas de frutas allí mismo. Déjame conseguir uno." Jahzara said as she moved her head to get a better look at the cabinet
(I see a fruit snacks box right there. Lemme get one.)
"Pero es el último." Carmén said
(But its the last one.)
"Luego compartir." Jahzara said
(Then share.)
"No." Carmén said as she quickly took the fruit snacks out of the box
"Entonces lo tomaré te lo quitaré." Jahzara said
(Then I'll take it from you.)
Jahzara chased the girl into her room.
"Permítanme tender algunos, Carmén." Jahzara said as she hovered over the girl once the landed on her bed
(Lemme have some, Carmén.)
"No te bajas de mi." Carmén said
(No, get off of me.)
"¿Por qué no compartes?" Jahzara asked
(Why won't you share?)
"Es el último." Carmén said
(It's the last one.)
"Fine." Jahzara said moving on the other side of the girl's bed
"Mmtch. Here." Carmén said seeing the girl with a frown
"Sabías que me darías un poco. Gracias." Jahzara said with a smile after she took some
(I knew you'd give me some. Thank you.)
"Será mejor que me compres un poco más." Carmén grumbled
(You better buy me some more.)
"Lo haré." Jahzara said
(I will.)
"¿Qué quieres hacer?" Jahzara asked
(What you wanna do?)
"Trabajo." Carmén responded
(Work.)
"Uugh. Casi trabajamos. No eres divertido." Jahzara said as she laid back on Carmén's bed
(We always working. You're no fun.)
"Jahzara, literalmente nos divertimos la última vez que viniste." Carmén said
(Jahzara, we literally just had fun the last time you came over.)
"Multa. Pero tomamos una siesta una vez que terminamos." Jahzara said as she sat up
(Fine. But we taking a nap once we're finished.)
"Te fuiste a dormir a la escuela." Carmén said
(You went to sleep at school.)
"Eso fue hace un tiempo." Jahzara said
(That was a while ago.)
"Te siento. Estaba agotado después del almuerzo." Carmén said
(I feel you. I was drained after lunch.)
"Eso es porque no almuerzas conmigo." Jahzara mumbled
(That's cause you aint eat lunch with me.)
"¿Todavía estás en eso? Comeré contigo el resto de la semana." Carmén said as she wrapped her arms around the girl
(You still on that? I'll eat with you the rest of the week.)
"De acuerdo. Iba a sentarme contigo de todos modos, incluso si decías que necesitabas estudiar." Jahzara said with a smile
(Ok. I was gonna sit with you anyway even if you said you needed to study.)
"Pensé. Muy bien, hagamos primero la biología. ¿Tienes las notas correctas?" Carmén said
(I figured. Alright, let's do the Biology first. You got the notes right?)
"Sí. No es mucho." Jahzara said
(Yeah. Its not a lot.)
"Bien. Podemos terminar antes." Carmén said
(Good. We can be done sooner.)
The girls only had two subjects to work on thankfully. Carmén filled Jahzara in with the work she missed while Jahzara was still suspended, so she was mostly caught up.
The girls finished their work at about 3:50 and were now putting their supplies up.
"Finalmente. Podemos irnos a dormir." Jahzara said as she zipped up her backpack
(Finally. We can go to sleep.)
"Tú demasiado emocionada." Carmén said as she laughed
(You're too excited.)
"Me encanta dormir." Jahzara said as she layed down
(I love sleeping.)
"Me too." Carmén said as she layed down next to Jahzara
Carmén closed her eyes and took in the silence until Jahzara spoke up.
"Carmén?" Jahzara said checking if she was still awake
"Yes?" Carmén said with her eyes still closed
"No estás jugando en mi pelo." Jahzara said
(You're not playing with my hair.)
"Happy?" Carmén said after chuckling and putting her hand in the girl's hair
"Yeah. Gracias." Jahzara said closing her eyes
"De nada." Carmén said
(You're welcome.)
The girls fell asleep peacefully laying with each other.
4:25pm
Daniellé walked into her apartment after coming home from work.
"Carmén. Estoy en casa." Carmén's mother said as she walked in the house
(I'm home.)
Daniellé walked to the girl's room Once she didn't hear a response.
"Carmén, vengo en bebé." Her mother said
(Carmén, I'm coming in baby.)
Daniellé opened the girl's door slowly and found her daughter sleeping next to Jahzara.
She smiled at the girl's before she closed the door back.
She went to go make dinner and dessert.
6:20pm
Carmén started to stir in her sleep and rubbed her eyes once she sat up. She checked her phone to see the time.
Once she saw the time, she got out of the bed to see if her mother and sister were home.
"Hola Mamí. ¿Ariellé aquí?" Carmén asked as she walked into the kitchen
(Hi ma. Ariellé here?)
"Sí. Te llamé una vez que llegué a casa, pero te vi durmiendo, pero no los desperté a los dos." Her mother replied
(Yes. I called you once I got home but saw you sleeping but I didn't wake you two up.)
"Sí, quería tomar una siesta." Carmén said
(Yeah she wanted to take a nap.)
"Le gustas." Her mother said
(She likes you.)
"No, ella no le hace, Mamí." Carmén said as she rolled her eyes
(No she doesn't Ma.)
"De acuerdo. Lo que digas." Her mother said as Carmén walked back to her room
(Ok. Whatever you say.)
"Carmén, ¿estás bien? Me dejastr solo." Jahzara said as she say up from the bed and rubbed her eyes
(Carmén, you ok? You left me by myself.)
"Eres tan pegajoso. Solo quiero salutary a Mamí." Carmén said
(You're so clingy. I just went to say hi to Mami.)
"Oh, ¿ella está aquí?" Jahzara asked
(Oh she's here?)
"Sí. Son las sies y media." Carmén said
(Yeah. It's 6:30)
"¿Dormimos tanto tiempo?" Jahzara asked
(We slept for that long?)
"Sí. Dormí bien." Carmén said
(Yeah. I slept good.)
"Mmh, me too." Jahzara said as they walked to the kitchen
"Hola Ms. Dani." Jahzara said as she walked into the kitchen
"Hola Jahzara. ¿Tu castigo fuera?" Carmén's mother asked
(Hi Jahzara. You're off of punishment?)
"Sí. Sólo volví a la escuela hoy." Jahzara responded
(Yes. I just went back to school today.)
"De acuerdo. No te meta más en problemas. Hice algo de comida. Ven a comer." Carmén's mother said
(Ok. Don't get onto anymore trouble. I made some food. Come eat.)
"No lo harè y gracias." Jahzara said as she took the plate from her mother
(I won't and thank you.)
"¿Ariellé no comer?" Carmén asked
(Ariellé not eating?)
"Ella no tiene hambre." Her mother replied
(She not hungry.)
"Ok." Carmén said while she sat down
The three ate their dinner with some conversation.
Once the were finished, Jahzara remembered to ask if Carmén could go over her house.
"Mi mamá quiere concerse Carmén. ¿Puede venir a casa conmigo el viernes?" Jahzara asked
(Ms. Dani, my mom wants to meet Carmén. Can she come home with me on Friday?)
"Seguro que no veo por qué no. Solo asegúrate de que llegu a casa a las diet en punto. Ustedes chicas adelante. Voy a limpiar." Carmén's mother said
(Sure I don't see why not. Just make sure she gets home by 10:00. You girls go ahead. I'll clean up.)
"¿Viernes?" Carmén asked as they walked back into her room
(Friday?)
"Sí. Mi mamá me lo dijo." Jahzara said as she picked up her bookbag
(Yeah. My mom told me.)
"Uugh, eso es demasiado pronto." Carmén said as she walked the girl back to the front door
(That's too early.)
"Estarás bien." Jahzara said
(You'll be fine.)
"De acuerdo. Si tú lo dices." Carmén said
(Ok. If you say so.)
"En serio. Déjame powered en marcha. No quiero volver hacer enojar a mi mamá." Jahzara said as they got to the door
(I mean it. Let me get going. I don't wanna make my mom mad again.)
"De acuerdo. Ya veré tú mañana." Carmén said as she opened the door
(Ok. I'll see you tomorrow.)
"Abrazos por favor." Jahzara said as she put her arms out
(Hugs please.)
"Siempre tienes que estar tocándome, ¿no?" Carmén said as she hugged the girl
(You always gotta be touching on me, don't you?)
"Sabes. Adiós Ms. Dani." Jahzara said as she pulled away from the girl
(You know. Bye Ms. Dani.)
"Adiós." Jahzara heard the woman yell
"Bye Carmén. See you tomorrow." Jahzara said
"Bye." Carmén said as she watched the girl walk into the hallway
It was an understatement to say Carmén was a little nervous to meet Jahzara's mom. She's never met anyone's parents so formally.
She hoped she liked her.
