The dinner ended with me and Alea being unable to even lift our heads from embarrassment. That "spell" my mom chanted made us unable to even think of looking upward
I don't know who was the idiot that said that chanted spells are inferior to chantless ones, but let me see that guy do something like this to me and Alea without chanting. He can't? That's what I thought
It's not like we never thought about marriage before, to hell, we even discussed it, but so far we couldn't even find time to take our relationship to another level, and now that my mom of all people made the marriage joke, we were both left speechless
With this entire thing about the council and our appointments as Lances, we had little to no time to spend together, so I didn't want us to rush into things. Thinking about this, I barely even noticed how we already finished the meal and changed the location of our discussions to the living room
Sitting on one sofa were Tabitha, Vincent, and Lilia while the other one was occupied by my family. Alea was sitting on the armchair, while I took a seat on the armrest. " Since it seems that no one is asking, I will" Mom said and made eye contact with me and Alea " How did you guys meet? "

" Eh, you guys started dating after the first meeting? " Vincent added, looking shocked
" Ah, we actually met twice before" I added, trying to make the situation as realistic as possible without telling any lies or revealing too much "Though I must say that our second meeting left me with zero hope that we will meet again" I added, Aleas and mine faces growing darker at the resurfacing memory. I could even feel Alea shivering
' Maybe I shouldn't have brought it up ' I thought, regretting ever bringing up the second meeting, but even so, I knew fully well that even with all my powers, I can't go back in time. So I did the only thing I could do at that moment, I placed my arm on top of hers and offered her a reassuring smile
Everyone noticed that something was going on but they didn't ask. They could read the room and they knew that nothing good would come out of asking. Looking toward Mom and Dad, I realized that thanks to their regression they knew what was going on, so they gave us a smile that told us they are there for us
" Well, we realized that we are getting along very well during the mission" I continued, breaking the uncomfortable atmosphere that previously surrounded us " And by the end of it we started dating"
" Oh! That's so nice" Tabitha said in excitement, her eyes gleaming after hearing our story
" I never thought that Arthur would meet his girl like that... " Vincent added " I always thought that she would have to go after you for years before you confess... Maybe she would even have to kiss you while you have your guard down only so you can notice her," he said and started laughing

" Yeah, I am also surprised sometimes. Considering how dense he can sometimes be I suppose that I used a lifetime's worth of luck when he fell in love with me" Alea added with a giggle
" Hey! Even I am not that dense!" I protested, but the only thing I was met with were skeptical eyes from everyone in the room
' Yeah right ' Regis said ' You are even denser than a black hole princess ' he added
' Papa, while I will admit that you are a genius when it comes to magic, aether, fighting, politics... You are just as much stupid when it comes to emotions' Sylvie said, rendering me unable to even protest anymore
' I mean I am a tsundere but... Even I can understand the emotions better than you, stupid master ' Dawn added a finishing blow, breaking my ego into thousands of pieces
" Ughh... " I muttered while clenching my heart " It's enough guys, my weak heart might not be able to take it" I said, pretending to be in unimaginable pain

" Oops" I muttered after realizing that I forgot to mention that " Quick Alea! We need to flee to the room or we will get caught up in another series of questions!" I declared and took my girlfriend's hand, leading her to my bedroom
" Arthur! " my mom shouted " Where do you think you are going with Alea!?" my mom shouted angrily, a vein slowly becoming visible on her forehead
" To my bedroom of course" I said with a deadpan expression
" And why do you think I would let two unsupervised unmarried young people sleep in the same room? Especially when they are dating! " she said with the vein on her forehead almost popping
' Ugh! I forgot that this kingdom runs on a " no sex before marriage" rule ' I thought while awaiting my mothers' wrathful punishment
I started to wreck my head around, trying to find an excuse that will allow me to sleep together with Alea and cuddle for the rest of the night, but I couldn't come up with anything that might satisfy my furious mom when suddenly Alea started speaking
" Don't worry miss Alice" Alea stepped in like a guardian angel that descended to Earth to protect me "From my experience, Arthur is too much of a chicken to make a move on me even when we are all alone " she said, shattering my pride to the pieces to the same size as pieces of sand
' Oh god princess, this is the third time today you've been destroyed '
Hearing this, my mom let us sleep together and I got to cuddle with Alea, but even though we won that fight, I feel like I lost something very important

" Yeah... I was nervous when I had to meet your parents" Alea added, apparently forgetting that it was today we were introduced to all of Dicathen and had to meet the most powerful nobles on the continent
" Don't worry about that" Regis said as he left my body " Soon they will be your parents as well" he added with a smirk

Hearing this, Alea's face turned red, the poof sound could be heard seconds before the smoke came out of her ears

" You know that it's fine to bathe? " I said " Even if it maybe doesn't look like that, this mansion has no issues with water supply" I added, remembering that even a mansion as big as this one is nothing compared to some of the mansions the other noble houses have
