Yoongi had something he wanted to talk about.
I started to get nervous.
Yoongi : You wanna hear the whole story or get straight to the point?
Me : Just get to the point.
Yoongi : Okay. Earlier, remember how I wanted to talk with Jhope?
Me : Yeah, I remember.
Yoongi : That's because...I found this there.
Yoongi gestured for me to lend him my hand.
I stretched it out toward him, and he put something hard in it.
Me : A button?
Yoongi : You've seen this before, right?
Me : Of course I had.
There was only one person among us wearing a school uniform jacket.
Which happened to have golden buttons just like...this.
Me : Is this...Jhope's...?
Yoongi : Yeah. Why would this be there? I mean it doesn't make sense. But...it didn't feel like the right moment to talk about it back there...
Me : You did the right thing. We can't make any hasty judgments. Especially at times like this..
Yoongi : Right...but I don't really get it. I'm too confused. You're smart. Tell me what you think.
Me : But this is really strange...Jhope and Jin are not even that close.
Yoongi : Right, you feel that too? But...
Me : I mean...it is strange but, I feel like we need more proof. A small button...this is not enough to draw any conclusions.
Also, I couldn't stop thinking about what Jin had told me.
Yoongi : How are you gonna get more clues?
Me : I have to find it myself.
Yoongi : I know this is a stupid thing to ask but...won't it be dangerous?
Me : I'm sure...I'll be fine.
Yoongi : Man...I don't get where that confidence comes from.
Me : Anyways. Have you noticed anything weird about any of the others recently?
I deliberately avoided mentioning Namjoon.
Yoongi : Man...everything feels weird to be honest. I mean...what's even normal these days? I don't know...if we're looking for anything suspicious, I don't think we have anything else to go on aside from this button.
Me : Hey, could I borrow that button?
Yoongi : I'll just go with you.
Me : Sure...okay.
We both headed toward Jhope's classroom.
It didn't matter if he was asleep or now.
I knocked on his door, and heard a groan coming from the inside.
Jhope : What...hm? What are you two doing here? I keep telling you not to walk around at night.
Yoongi : Can we come in?
Jhope : Uhm, sure I guess.
We walked inside and closed the door behind us.
Jhope : You got something to tell me? Okay...you guys are scaring me, coming like this.
Yoongi silently looked at me.
It seemed like he wanted me to say it, since I was the one who wanted to go.
So I...
Me : Take a look at this.
Yoongi : ...
Yoongi looked disappointed.
I guess he wanted me to ask him about things before showing it to him.
But I felt like actions would be better than words.
Jhope : A button? Oh?! That looks just like my buttons!
Me : Yeah, that's why we're here.
Jhope : Hang on. Where did you get this...?
Yoongi : Remember I wanted to talk to you, back in Jin's room?
Jhope : You found this there? Wait, look at this.
Jhope pulled his blazer out to us and pointed at the buttons.
One button, two buttons, but...
Jhope : I know there's one missing...but I lost that one way back. Hey Yoongi, don't you remember? I've had only two for a while, you know that.
Yoongi : Hmm...did you?
Jhope : You shouldn't joke around about this!
Yoongi : Well, I guess I kinda remember that.
Jhope : I can tell you it's not me.
Yoongi : Honestly, I didn't wanna believe it was you. After all...I know you would never do something like that. They say you can't understand how strange people think...(but I know you're a really nice person.)
He mumbled the last sentence to himself, but I could hear it quite clearly.
Jhope : So you believe me?
Yoongi : Uhm..
Jhope : Taehyung, since you're here, why don't you tell us what happened when you were out in the town?
Yoongi : Huh? Something happened?
Jhope : Yeah, they heard about this Safe Zone when they went outside on patrol. But I think there was something else, too.
Me : Oh, right...
Since it wasn't often the three of us met like this Should I say it?
I slowly and carefully started telling them what had happened.
About the crazy man who believed everyone was a zombie, the fact that he attacked us.
Namjoon saving us, and...how he killed the man mercilessly, even though he knew the man wasn't infected.
Me : And then we met a guy that crazy man had been going together with. He told us about the existence of a Safe Zone...
Yoongi : It's a bit...
Jhope : Yeah...I feel like I'm not really in a position to talk, but still...that's really screwed up. I mean...even though he was a human, Namjoon did save you from him...ah, but couldn't he just have stopped when the man was on the ground?
Yoongi : Yeah...he was taking it too far. Just thinking about it I'm getting goosebumps.
I don't know if I should bring up what Jin said about Namjoon.
That'd definitely pin him down.

Jhope : Well, I guess...we'll have to keep an eye on Lawrence from now on.
Yoongi : Yeah...
Me : Okay, I'll keep an eye out too.
Since they both agreed that we would keep an eye on Namjoon.
I decided to not mention what I wanted to say.
Deep inside, I wanted to believe that Jin was still somewhere out there, alive and well...
Jhope : Shouldn't you two get some sleep? Since it's so late, I don't want to send you back on your own. I'll go with you.
Yoongi : And you won't be walking alone on your way back?
Jhope : Hey, I'm the strongest out of all three of us.
Yoongi : Geez.
Yoongi followed Jhope out without arguing further.

《Next Day》
Even though we went to sleep late, I woke up early the next morning. It was still dark.
I didn't sleep very well, and I was feeling woozy.
I slowly got up and sat down on one of the desks by the window.
It had become a habit for me to look outside like this whenever I had some spare time.
Surely it would get too cold if I opened the window, right?
I silently looked outside.
I hadn't seen many zombies lately...
So I started to imagine things, and getting hope.
Was all of this about to end?
Just then, I spotted something moving outside.
A shadow.
This time it was a group of shadowy figures.
Just like I had seen back then together with Jungkook.
《Flashback》
Man 2 : You really haven't seen any of them? They should have covered all locations like that by now...
《Flashback End》
I thought about what that man had told us.
But maybe because they were sticking close to the wall.
Even though I knew it was dangerous. I had ran outside.
......
In the end I didn't see if they had really been soldiers.
Since I worried they'd mistake me for a zombie if I approached them too suddenly.
I didn't have the courage to face them.
I left the school entrance, and stayed low as 1 walked toward the main gate.
As I got closer, I started hearing what they were talking about.
Soldier 1 : Didn't we put up one here?
Soldier 2 : Maybe someone tore it down.
Soldier 1 : Guess they didn't want others to see it.
Soldier 2 : Let's just put another one up.
I couldn't really hear what they were saying...but "put one up" sounded very promising.
As the sound of their footsteps faded away, I slowly moved toward the school gate.
And stuck to the gate wall was...
Me : It was true!
With a heading that read...(Notice of Safe Zone for Uninfected Survivors)[0]
There was a poster with directions to the Safe Zone.
Me : Sorry...!
I apologized quietly to those soldiers who had just put the poster up, then I took it down.
I need to show this to the others.
