I looked at my phone,worried,tensed.I was walking back and forth.
4 missed calls from Bro!! I don't have the courage to pick up his call.
Suddenly someone opened the door. It was Aisha
"Hey,what happen,y do u look so tensed?" She asked
"Let's go downstairs" I said
Soon,Aisha, Sarah and I were sitting in the living room
My phone rang for the 7th time
"Y aren't you picking up the phone!?" Sarah asked
"I don't know where to start" I finally spoke and turned off my phone
"Everything's alright?" Sarah asked
"Nooo" I said putting both of my hands on my head
"What's wrong?" Aisha asked
"Who's call is this?" She added
"Bro!" I replied
"So? What happen? Y can't u pick up his call?" Sarah asked
"He- He doesn't know about..." I stammered
"About what?" They asked in unison
"Mom's death" I said and a tear fell on my cheek
"What!!?" Sarah said as she stood up
"R u serious!?" Aisha asked and I nodded
"Why didn't u tell him!!!?" Aisha asked
"Because," I said as tears rolled down my cheeks
"What because!" Aisha exclaimed
"He's your brother! He has the right to know!! " sarah shouted
"You know what! Am calling your brother right now!" Aisha said
"Nooooo!!! R u out of your mind!" I yelled
"But y the hell u didn't tell him!!" Sarah asked
"OK first of all everyone relax! Calm down! We'll talk about it. Ok aliyah explained us everything in detail now" aisha said and sarah nodded
"I didn't tell him because he's really sensible... And he was having his finals and am sure it must have ended now that's y he's calling me." I said
"Just because he's sensible!!!?" Aisha asked
"Yes a-" I was saying
"R u kidding me! Just because he's sensible that's y u didn't tell him!!? " aisha said and tears continued rolling down my cheeks
"Aliyah, u r not your only mother's child but your mom has a son too! And he has all the right to know everything about his mother!!" Sarah said
"No not only because he's sensible but-" I said
"But what!?" Aisha asked
"You'll say that he would burst into tears and all! But that's normal!! Any child will be under this shock!" Sarah said
"Aliyah u better answer that phone and u tell him!" Aisha said
I parted my lips to speak but nothing came out as tears didn't stop falling
I went in my room and turned on my iPhone
I took a shower and came out. I think I should call bro but I don't have the courage to tell him

I got a msg which brought me out of my thoughts.
I took my phone. Bro!!
BRO: Hey little sis,calling u but u r not picking up. I hope everything is fine. My finals r over and alhamdulillah I got a better job,here in New York... Bring mom with u soon. Finally! Am in New York! I took a deep breath as the wind blew along my face.
"How much I miss this place man! So happy to be back!" Atif said
"Shehry!" I heard waqas's father said as he came
I hugged him and greeted him

"Where's nosh? She didn't come? She told me that she'll be at your place," I asked aunty
"Hmm actually she's busy with work so..." Razia aunty spoke
"Thats not fair. I thought at least one cousin will come and welcome me" I said desapointedly
Suddenly a pair of hands covered my eyes
"Nosh!!!?!!?" I guessed excitedly
"Nop! Rabia!" She said

"Stupid,of course it's me! Rabia is at work!" She said

"Where r u lost!?" Nosh asked bringing me out of my realization
"Huh,hmmm no.,.. I am just thinking that,,, what did u prepare for me,,,,,as I am really hungry!!" I said happily
"Well.... For that you have to take a look in the kitchen!" Nosh said
"Ok... But firstly am going to take a shower!" I said
After the shower I phoned mom to let her know that ive reach safely and after that I went downstairs. I wore a grey sweatpants and a black T-shirt
I quickly went in the kitchen as I was really hungry!
"Hmmm... Wow! Smelling really nice! What an aroma! Ok I know! U prepared roasted chicken,that's for sure!" I said to maria and nosh
"Yes we definitely have to cook chicken as we know how much u love chicken!" Maria said
"Ehmm,that's true!" I said
"How's everyone at home?" Nosh asked
"There r good " I replied
"Can I help u ladies?" I asked
"Hmm yes,just go to the dinner table and take a seat as we r coming over their with the food" nosh said and I laughed
"I mean as work! Ok lemme help u to take the delicious food to the table" I said as I removed the chicken from the oven.
"Beautiful ring," nosh said teasingly and I smiled looking at my ring. Engagement Ring!
"Well,beautiful ring given by a precious girl," I said
"Awww" maria said
We had dinner and the food was incredibly awesome!
I went in the room as I was tired and jumped in my bed
I look at the time. Its Eleven there,in Texas!
I picked my phone and call aliyah
It rang but she didn't pick up. Maybe she's fallen asleep
I send her a msg and kept the phone on the table
ALIYAH POV
I went down for dinner. I dont know but am feeling uncomfortable to go down
Aisha and sarah was already there. I smiled at them and they mirrored it. I poured some soup in a bowl and went in the dining room
There was a long silence. I looked at the clock. It was 20.00 p.m. shehryaar flight must have landed
"Aliyah,I am sorry. I shouldn't have talk to u like that" Sarah finally spoke. I looked at her
"Even I am sorry for behaving like that " Aisha said
"Hey no don't be sorry you silly girls. I realized it that what u said was absolutely right. I should have told my brother. I am not my only mother's child. But if I have to tell him,I'll have to meet him and tell him. Only when he's in front of me. He messaged me when I went on my room telling me to bring mom and I to New York " I said
"So what r u gonna do?" Sarah asked
"I don't know,maybe I'll go to New York or I'll call him here" I said
We ate and today Aisha did the dishes. We talked in the living room and I saw that it was 21:25 p.m. We decided to go sleep now

I got a msg as I entered the room. One miss call.
I saw that it was a miss call from shehryaar
I changed in my pyjamas and called him back
"Hello" he said in a sleepy voice
Oh man! Its 23.30 here which means it's 00.30 in New York
"Hmmm,hey u r already asleep ?" I asked
Stupid question! He's a sleepy voice of course he's asleep
"Hmmm-" shehryaar said but I cut him in between

"Sorry, I'll call u tomorrow. Good night love you" I said and was about to hang up when he spoke

"Ahmm--- Actually I've not landed yet! Silly! Of course I landed safely! If I didn't land safely,would I have been here,in my bed talking to u? And my princess I didn't have any difficulties," he said and I face palmed myself. How stupid of me!
"By the way, you've still not become my wife and questioning me as if you already r.... Impressed!" He said and I smiled
"Of course. How come I won't be caring about my life" I said with a bit of attitude
"Ahan! Attitude humm?" He asked

"I thought that you don't talk with your brother, things like that and I didn't even want to ask u as I thought I may hurt your feelings! But see! Here,now u r telling me!" He said
A tear apescaped my eyes
"I- I'm sorry" I said
"Hey,u r crying... No please don't cry" he said but the tears didn't not stop escaping my eyes
"Hey please stop crying. I am not there to wipe your tears or hug u so please,don't cry" he said
I wiped my tears
"I-I am not crying anymore" I said
"Ok smile plz" he said and I smiled even if he cant see my smile
"I didn't mean to make you cry" he said
"No, its not your fault. Its all my fault. I should have told bro and now there wouldn't have this tension " I said
"So what did u think? " he asked
"I'll come to New York or I'll tell him to come to Texas" I said
"Ok " was his reply
"Ok you better sleep now alright " I said
"Ok my wife who's not yet my wife but is my wife" he said and I chuckled
"What did I just say!?" He said and I laughed
"I think that you are feeling sleepy. Good night" I said and he giggled
"Ok. Good night. Sweet dreams. Love you my princess" he said
"Love you more my prince. Take care" I said and he hung up
I kept my phone beside me and went to sleep
