William’s POV

I was pissed as fuck.

That pathetic piece of shit dared to threaten me?! He dared to take advantage of her so I would suffer?! I was going to find him, and I was going to put a bullet into his brain.

I had to hide her again. I had to find someplace safe for her. Alexander was insane if he thought that I would let her come here. This place wasn’t safe for her. I didn’t want her here. I didn’t want her to see who we were. She was safer and better off without us.

Damien was starring at me with a murderous look on his face. I understood him completely. I didn’t tell him what happened, and I made him come to the office of the man we both hated. He looked like he was about to explode. Luke was staring at Alexander with an unreadable expression on his face. He didn’t look as angry as Damien, but I could still tell that he didn’t want to be here.

I didn’t want to be here.

The door opened, and Elijah walked inside.

“What is go...” he spoke, but stopped abruptly when he saw us.

His eyes widened, and he looked at Alexander.

“Why are they here?” Elijah asked, closing the door behind him.

The expression on his face went from surprised to pissed off in a matter of seconds.

“I would love to know that too,” Damien mumbled, making Elijah look at him.

“Sit down, Eli,” Alexander said sternly. “We have something important to discuss.”

I watched Elijah as he approached his brother and sat on the couch next to him. Alexander handed him the letter.

I reached into my jacket pocket, pulled out the letter I received, and handed it to Damien. Luke stood up and approached our brother so he could look at the letter as well.

I watched my brothers’ faces as they read it. They were surprised at first, but then there was a mixture of rage and terror written on both of their faces.

“Are you fucking kidding me?!” Elijah screamed, making me look at him.

He was standing up, holding the letter in his hand, and staring like he was hoping he would be able to burn it with his stare alone.

“Where is she?” Damien asked, his voice laced with anger.

I looked back at my brother and tightened my jaw.

“My men are on their way,” I said, trying to sound calm and collected. “I called James and Lizzie. She is okay.”

I didn’t know what I would do if she wasn’t. I would probably lose it and kill everyone and everything on sight.

“What are we going to do?” Luke mumbled, staring at the letter with a worried look on his face.

He kept gulping, and I could tell that he was holding back tears. Luke was always the softest of the three of us.

“I want to bring her here,” Alexander said, making me tighten my jaw. “She will be safest here with us.”

I kept my eyes on my brothers, trying to anticipate their reaction even though I already knew what it was going to be. They would agree with me. They didn’t want her here.

“Of course!” Elijah exclaimed. “We need to bring her here today!”

Damien narrowed his eyes and clenched his fists.

“No,” he said sternly. “She has no business being here. We will find another place for her to stay.”

Damien looked at me, and I gave him a small nod.

“Are you kidding me?!” Elijah exclaimed.

“I won’t let you put her in danger,” Alexander said calmly, making me look at him. “I won’t let you take her into some godforsaken town where he will find her again. Elijah and I will take her in.”

Anger hit me like a train.

“No fucking way!” Damien argued before I could. “No one is taking her in. We will find a safe place for her. He won’t be able to find her again.”

Elijah clenched his fists and took a step closer to Damien.

“I am not letting her get hurt because you are a coward, Damien,” Elijah said angrily. “If he finds her and if he starts sending us parts of her body, you will be the first one I shoot between the eyes.”

Damien stood up, and I grabbed his upper arm.

“We are taking her in,” Alexander said. “It’s final. You don’t have to see her, but I am not letting her get hurt.”

I looked at Alexander, and an unknown feeling washed over me. It was eating me up inside, but I couldn't do shit about it because I didn’t recognize it.

“Tell your men to take her to my house,” Alexander said calmly. “I will keep you updated on everything, just as James and Lizzie always did.”

The unknown feeling intensified. My stomach was twisting painfully.

I didn’t want him to take her. She was my…

“I disagree,” Damien said angrily, interrupting my thoughts. “You can’t just take her. She isn’t just your sister.”

Elijah snorted.

“What the hell should we do then?” Elijah asked angrily. “Throw her away into some hole and wait for that fucker to find her and rape her?! That may be what you want to do, but it’s not what I want. I want her here so I can protect her.”

I saw red. I was going to kill him! If he thought that I wanted him to find her and...

That was it!

I reached behind me, pulled out my gun, and pointed it at Elijah.

“Easy, William,” Alexander said, making me glance at him.

He was pointing a gun at Luke.

Fuck.

He was always a fast motherfucker.

“A brother for a brother, William,” Alexander said coldly. “Put the gun away.”

I gulped and glanced at Luke. He rolled his eyes and stood up.

“Stop it!” Luke said angrily. “Stop acting like idiots. Put the gun away, William.”

“Listen to your brother, William,” Alexander said. “Put the gun away, and let’s talk about this like adults.”

I tightened my jaw and looked at Elijah. He wasn’t even scared. He was staring at Damien with a murderous look on his face.

I tightened my hold on the gun and lowered it down. I looked at Alexander and saw him do the same.

“I want her here too,” Luke said, making me snap my head toward him. “I agree with Alexander. She won’t be safe anywhere but here.”

My eyes widened.

“She should be with us, though,” Luke said. “She is our father’s daughter.”

Elijah laughed loudly. Alexander was looking at Luke like he was about to aim the gun at him again.

“Fuck off, Lucas,” Elijah said. “I am not letting you have her. Your brothers will take the first opportunity to get rid of her.”

Now I wanted to aim my gun at Elijah again!

“Shut the fuck up, Elijah,” Damien said angrily. “If you think that I would let anything happen to her, you are an idiot. Luke is right. If she is staying with anyone, it will be with us.”

“Over my dead fucking body!” Alexander exclaimed angrily. “You said that you don’t want her. We are taking her in, and I am not letting you near her.”

I finally recognized that uncomfortable feeling in my chest.

It was jealousy.

Thinking about Alexander and Elijah having her close and me not being able to see her had me burning with jealousy.

She was my sister. I held her first when she was born. I talked to James and Lizzie every day. I knew everything about her. Me. Not Alexander or Elijah.

If she was going to stay here, she was going to stay with me.
