It was approaching 3:15 in the morning. Ariel and Scarecrow had time to themselves. 3 months into their marriage, they were still deeply in love. They imagined a future for themselves where they could live elsewhere.
'Oh, but Scarecrow, just imagine a life with just the two of us!' said Ariel. 'We'd build it together, brick by brick, and paint the walls with magical colours! In the literal sense, if we wanted to.'
'Ariel, there is nothing more I would love to do than to build a house with you. We'd fill it with all of the most wonderful little gadgets and inventions and we'd have pet chickens in the garden, which could be filled with wonderful flowers! As one flower would wilt, another would bloom!'
'To pay for the home, we could work in a little shop we build nextdoor! Oh, it would be wonderful!'
The two then thought about it some more.
'But I suppose the others would miss us,' said Scarecrow.
'And we'd miss the others,' said Ariel.
'For now, this is fine.' Scarecrow carefully slid his fingers into Ariel's.
'I may sound a tad cheesy, but this is more than fine. I'm with you,' he replied.
The Prower household was not to shrink in size any time soon.
'Scarecrow, may I ask for a kiss?' asked Ariel. The two kissed.
