POV: Yoongi

MIN YOONGI DESPERATELY needed a coffee after the night he had.

Normally he slept like a baby after a concert but last night, he tossed and turned the whole night, his thoughts racing.

All seven of them had stayed up late discussing their options. Sejin sat with them for a bit and offered to personally talk to the two staff members who interviewed guests.

Yoongi spent most of the conversation lying back on the couch, listening to what was said but never inputting anything. He didn't know what to make of the current situation.

On the one hand, he wished what was being discussed was true but he had his fair share of heartbreaks and despair to know that life didn't work the way he hoped it would. The idea of their soul mate conveniently being in the crowd and meet and greet?

It was probably just some crazy fan. We had been waiting so long we have deluded ourselves into believing we could meet our soul mate. Yoongi told himself.

On the other hand, he had to be cautious. Not just for himself but for the others too. When this turned out to be a fluke, he would be the one to rebuild their confidence and reassure them. He had to remain sensible and grounded.

Yoongi woke up earlier than it should be allowed and showered. He blocked out any thoughts of a possible soul mate and decided to go over the beat for a new song he was planning to make.

Music could always distract him. It was why he loved it so much. Music made him forget about his loneliness and the lack of a soul mate. He poured his thoughts and feelings into his songs, conveying them to the world. It was therapy but instead of paying someone to sit and listen to him ramble, he got paid for it.

After changing into his usual, casual attire, Yoongi forced himself to sneak outside and head into the city. There was a cafe that served great coffee and pastries he enjoyed.

Since he was wearing a disguise, nobody came up to him. As much as he loved ARMY, he sometimes wished he wasn't as famous as he was. Being hounded all the time was exhausting and difficult.

He stepped into the cafe and felt a rush of excitement trail down his body. Perplexed, his brown orbs examined the room but didn't find anything peculiar. The cafe was busy but not busy enough where it became unbearable. The staff knew who he was but never made a big deal out of it. That was one of the reasons he loved coming to this particular place.

Yoongi stepped towards the counter, failing to see the woman barrelling towards him. They collided and all he could see were stars. He wasn't sure if his hands grabbed onto her body but it felt like it.

His entire body felt alive. For a moment, he wondered if he was having some sort of stroke.

But then, the person who crashed into him stepped back. He barely had a chance to stare at the average-height woman before she muttered something in English and darted off. Dazed, Yoongi watched the woman with silky black hair rush over to another girl and grab her. She dragged her friend or colleague out of the cafe, running away.

Yoongi didn't know what just happened. It took him a second to realize he wasn't breathing. Sucking in a lungful of air, Yoongi adjusted his cap and mask.

What did I just feel? He asked himself, furrowing his brows. Could she...could she be my...

Yoongi shook his head, struggling to accept what he already knew deep down.

Thrown off with his original plan, Yoongi lingered in the same spot. Breathing in and out, he collected himself and approached the counter.

The barista was someone who he saw regularly. She greeted him with a polite smile and asked if he wanted the usual. Yoongi was grateful he didn't have to speak because his mind was too frazzled to form a coherent sentence.

He shuffled to the other end of the counter where his drink was being prepared. His friend, Duri, instantly noticed his expression.

"You okay, hyung?" He asked, concerned.

In his bizarre state, Yoongi answered him honestly. Normally, he'd play it off but this felt like something he had to share. "I'm not sure. Something strange just happened."

Duri leaned over the counter, causing his shirt to ride up, revealing his soul tattoo. Yoongi didn't know much about Duri's life but knew that Duri had found his soul mate two years ago. They were living happily, both studying in Seoul.

His eyes peered down at the tattoo. A burst of pleasure hit his own wrist, where his soul mark was located. Most of the time, Yoongi had his mark covered but today, he seemed to have forgotten it. He was very familiar with the initials etched on his skin.

"I just bumped into someone and I felt...dazed," He found the words tumbling out of his mouth quietly.

Duri's eyebrows rose, "Is your..." He leaned closer, eyeing the people around them. "Wrist itching?"

Yoongi's breath hitched. He knew exactly where Duri was going with this.

It now depended on whether Yoongi wanted to admit it out loud and to himself.

"It can't be possible," Yoongi mumbled to himself in disbelief. He was experiencing the same emotions as yesterday evening. He couldn't rule it out as a coincidence anymore. This was something more. Was fate trying to push them together?

"It can, especially for you," Duri said. "I know you don't talk about it but I know you haven't found your soul mate. It's quite possible that you just met them."

Yoongi loosened a breath. He had a lot to think about. What was he going to tell his friends? Hey guys, I bumped into our soul mate but I didn't see her face properly nor did I ask what her name was. But hey, now I believe that we met our soul mate yesterday. That wouldn't work. They'd be angry and upset.

Perhaps he should just tell Namjoon. He could always come up with a plan quickly.

Duri slid his drink over to Yoongi, "Let me offer you some advice. Don't let your soul mate slip away. Whatever feelings you have about soul mates, it's one hundred percent worth meeting yours. You don't know what you're missing until you are with them. You feel complete. You deserve happiness."

"Thanks, Duri. I'll see you soon," Yoongi replied, nodding his head.

Duri waved at him and got back to work. Min Yoongi had a lot to think about.

***

BACK AT HIS dorm, his brothers were all lounging around, discussing the topic of soul mates. Collapsing on the single chair in the lounge, he listened to what they said, mentally figuring out how to tell them what had happened.

"MS are two common letters. We'll have to get Sejin to comprise a list of people at the meet and greet with names or nicknames with M and S," Namjoon spoke in a thoughtful voice.

"I'm sure it won't be that hard to narrow it down. Remember, we'll be looking specifically at meet and greet guests," Jin added, plastering a small, reassuring smile on his face.

"I met them," Yoongi blurted out, unable to contain it any longer.

Silence ensued amongst them. Disbelief was written on Namjoon and Jin's faces whilst Hobi, Taehyung, Jimin and Jungkook looked shocked but also happy.

Once they had all wrapped their heads around what Yoongi announced, an onslaught of questions was directed at him. He was barely able to comprehend what any of them were asking. Their voices overlapped, forming strange sentences.

Noticing that Yoongi wasn't going to talk until everyone else was quiet, he stepped in loudly. "Guys, he's going to answer everything once you stop firing questions at him. Give him a second."

Nobody could fight Namjoon's authoritative voice. They all settled back, eager to hear what Yoongi was going to say.

Before he spoke, Yoongi glanced around the room at his fellow peers—his family. When they all discovered they shared a soul mate, it thrilled them. None of them wanted to part ways ever. They shared a special connection that was formidable.

"Well, I was at Dimple getting coffee when out of nowhere, some woman came barreling into me. I didn't get a good look at her face but I felt everything you described about soul mates, Jimin," Yoongi explained, taking in the reactions of his close friends.

"So, did you speak to her?" Taehyung jumped in, excitedly.

Solemnly, Yoongi shook his head, "No, she ran off before I could talk to her. But I spoke to Duri and told him what I felt. He was certain that she was our soul mate."

The atmosphere was filled with envy and desperation. Twice they had encountered their soul mate and had yet to learn anything about them.

Why did the universe keep doing this to them? Min Yoongi asked himself, aggravated.

"What did she look like?" Jungkook queried, cocking his head to the side.

"I could only see long black hair. She was of average height and had a lean body. That's all I got, unfortunately." He answered, tightly.

Disappointment flitted over all of their faces. Yoongi felt guilty. Because he was so stunned, he let her slip through his fingers. He should have chased after her. If only...

Releasing a tense breath, he glanced down at his wrist again. Who was she? When were they going to be able to talk to her—to be with her?

"That means she's still in Seoul. We have a chance," Jimin encouraged, grinning broadly. He wasn't going to give up easily.

Yoongi felt a tad bit more hopeful. He just hoped that she either lived in Seoul or would be staying in South Korea for longer. As long as that happened, everything would work out.
