"I'm back" Shanks says as he enters the bar grining from ear to ear "Welcome back Shanks" Makino says smiling as normal "Hi Shanks" I say in a monotone voice wanting him to already leave "So have you thought about it?" Shanks says with a hopeful smile "Thought about what?" Makino asks clearly confused "It doesn't matter Makino don't worry about it" I say almost instantly "You didn't tell Makino?" Yasopp says walking up behind us and grabbing shanks shoulder "Tell me what I'm confused" Makino says slightly worried looking at both me and Shanks "Nothing.." I say annoyed "You should have at least told her about it" Benn says taking a seat behind us "Y/n what are they talking about?" Makino says getting more and more worried by the second "It's not important really Makino don't worry about it" I say walking away from them "I asked her to join my crew a few months back" Shanks says mindlessly "SHANKS" I yell turning around within the time span it took him to say crew "Y/n you should have told me I thought you got hurt or something" Makino says with a bit of anger in her voice "I didn't tell you because I didn't plan on joining that loud mouths crew" I say crossing my arms "You didn't even think about it" Yasopp says "Your putting you talent to a waste Y/n" Benn says while shaking his head in a disapproving way "I know Shanks said the exact same thing" I say getting very annoyed "It's true Y/n your both strong and fast" Lucky Roo says before taking a bite of some random ass piece of meat "I know" I say "Y/n just join my crew you won't regret it" Shanks says once again "For fucks sake I'm not joining your damn crew Shanks" I say angrily "Y/n language" Makino says angrily "Go outside and get some fresh air you need it right now" Makino says pointing to the door
I walked to the beach and sat on the sand. After a few minutes go by I hear someone call me "Y/n?" Shanks says walking towards me with a bottle of sake in his hand "What do you want" I say annoyed by the man's presence "It's been 45 minutes I had to sneak out to find you" he says sitting beside me "Well you found me so you can go back now" I says "Hahaha no way" he say smiling "You know your very annoying" I say looking at shanks with annoyance amd pure hate "You know you should consider becoming a pirate for real" he says in a serious tone "Your very strong and extremely fast not to mention smart you'd make a great pirate" he adds on but I can't tell if he's being serious any more "I don't wanna hold anyone back and I can't just leave Makino alone to run the bar it isn't easy to do" I say scoffing "Makino is a smart woman she can handle the bar by herself and I can always bring you too see her" he says putting his (only) hand on my head and ruffling my hair "And you won't be holding anyone back Y/n" he adds "I don't know plus have you seen me fight?" I say worried but also skeptical "I'm sure we can teach you how to fight you can't be that bad" he says while smiling "I'll think about it later" I say getting up "Lets go back Makino is probably worried sick by now" Shanks says smiling and putting his arm on my shoulder. As we walk back into the bar Makino runs up to us "Y/n your okay" she says worried while hugging me I couldn't help but smile and hug her back "I told you I'd be fine I know this place like the back of my hand" I say "I guess so but that doesn't mean I can't worry about you" Makino say calmly "I'm more surprised she came back with Shanks of all people" Yasopp says barely sober and laughing his but off "Hahaha shes hated him since she first met him" Lucky Roo says "No kidding if she could she would have killed him a hundred times by now" Benn says adding on to what Yasopp said "You guys make it sound like I was the devil or something" I say annoyed at their comments "In our eye you were" Yasopp says "Wow how nice" I say sarcastically "Don't worry Y/n you were an angel" Makino says smiling "Yea but only Makino eyes" Benn says while everyone else starts laughing even Makino starts giggling slightly.
The next day Makino woke me up to help them pack up and leave but I felt like there was more to it. Normal Makino would do something like this on her own but instead she went out of her way to wake me up and do it "Y/n can you help me with this last barrel" Makino says pointing to a smaller barrel on the side that she'd normal be able to move on her own "Sure" I say picking up the barrel and bring it to Shanks ship "Is this all Makino?" I ask "Yes that should be all" she says calmly "Okay" I say and start walking away only to be greeted by the red hair pirates "Y/n this is the last chance are you going to join my crew or not" Shanks says in a firm voice "I'm not sure" I say kind of quietly "Y/n do it i'll be fine on my own" Makino says while smiling "Are you sure Makino" I say worried "I promise" she says "okay fine I guess i'l join you guys" I say scoffing and crossing my arms "Great well then let's go before you change your mind" Shanks says smiling "Shut up I'm not gonna do that Shanks" I say annoyed "Yea sure you won't" he says laughing "Come on kid" Yasopp say getting on the ship "I'm coming geez" I say "Bye Makino" I say turning around to leave and waving good bye

i'm two chapters in and I'm already questioning what i'm doing with my life. the main characters have yet to be seen any time soon and i can't think of a reason for them to meet other than shanks leaving y/n -_-
