September 21, 1995.
i was finally done my 20 hour shift and i felt like i was going to fall apart.
i fell asleep in a call room earlier this afternoon.
although, i felt a body sit on the bed i was sleeping on.
it was none other than doug ross.
"sorry for waking you" he whispered
"20 hours should be illegal" i groaned
he was silent.
"what about us"
i sat up.
"we obviously aren't the same as we used to be" i added.
"if you don't want this anymore please just say that"
"i want you y/n"
"i always have"
"the arguing, the absence?"
"i don't think i've been acting the same lately" he said.
"i can't lose you doug, you've been my friend for so long"
"someone i really love most recently"
"and i don't know what i'd do without you"
"i can't keep on being so distant with you" i smiled
"i'm sorry y/n"
"you need to go home" he smiled, wrapping me in a hug.
"i love you doug"
"i love you too, y/n" he whispered.
