⤞tainting

This anxiety,
a fault in my thoughts,
an insidious tainting
of all the things
I've been taught,
a dark, ominous cloud
that enfolds me with intent,
killing me slowly
with every
lingering torment,
and I know,
deep inside,
that the fault lies with me,
yet to change
my way of thinking
is something that
won't happen
so easily.
