My new maid bathed me and dressed me up.
I wore a dark red coloured dress. The dress was so tight and hugged my body. It was a fled long dress and extremely beautiful. One I haven't seen before. When they were dressing me up one of them said
"my lady, this dress is so beautiful. It must have cost a fortune"
I smiled at her and said.
"what are your names"
"my name is Bernice" the blonde one said.
"and my name is Benita" the other black hair one said.
"are you sisters?" I asked because of their names.
"yes my lady" they said simultaneously
"what of your family" I asked
"our parents were killed in the war. We were the only survivors "Benita said.
"I'm sorry to hear about that. My mum also died in the war" I said remembering her dead body and face
"my lady, we are sorry for bringing up that painful memory, please forgive us" Bernice said
"no no..., I should also apologise, I also brought up a painful memory for you guys too." I said
"thank you my lady" Bernice said.
"so how long have you been in this mansion" I asked
"5 years my lady" Benita said.
"so clarify me about this melanin and who lord jobe really is" I said because if I am going to be living here, I need to be smart. I've seen lord jobe in articles and newspaper but for him to control the king like some puppet there is something I need to know
"lord jobe is the richest man in redwood and so far in the southern part of the world." Bernice said
"he has about 2 houses in every city and he lends money to rich people whom pays him with large interest. He invests in scientist works and opens business firms all over. He put different well to do men with high status which pays him every month" Benita said as she picked up a brush to brush my hair.
"nobody knows anything about him and he knows the king well. The king comes here at times." Bernice said sitting on the table.
"nobody knows he's family or where he came from?" I asked surprisingly
"no my lady" Benita answered.
"while melanin has been trying to woo him together with her father. Her father got her to work for lord jobe as a doctor."
"everyone that lives here works for lord jobe?" I asked
"except you my lady" Benita said.
"miss melanin ensured she was the closest to him and she always made it so obvious that she liked him that's why lord jobe is asking for my lady and miss melanin to meet. He doesn't tolerate fights in his house" Bernice says.
It all made sense. Obviously jobe doesn't like melanin. I'm ready now.
They brushed my hair and pined everything to the back. They clipped it and my head shape was so visible. I looked magnificent.
