as sun was walking, he couldn't help but let his mind wander.
sun: moony?
moon: what is it, sundrop. did a kid knock over the cushion towers again?
sun: well no- i just wanted to ask you something
moon: and that is?
sun: u-um, there's a kid that's recently been coming here and today i found them crying by themselves in the corner. i went over to them to see if they were okay and they seemed.. frightened-
moon: oh? how come?
sun: i'm not sure. but i offered them to come and play tag with me and a couple other kiddos and they seemed fine
moon: okay? i don't see the problem. maybe their friends weren't playing nice with them. we've had issues like this all the time with the kids
sun: no- it wasn't that. when we were playing, i was about to tag them but i must have accidentally caught their sleeve by accident and-
.....
moon: sun? .. are you okay? what happened next?
sun: ..uh- i- i saw.. cuts and scars, moony.
moon: huh? from what??
sun: t-that's the problem. they said it was just an angry kitty but-
moon: well the-
sun: no, there's more. i had then walked them to the arts and crafts table to go and sit with Cassie but when i went over to check on them- of course i saw Cassie's lovely drawing of me and her! but...
moon: ..yes..?
sun: they- they were trying to break one of the pencil sharpeners
moon: oh my- they didn't hurt themself on it did they?
sun: no. but- moony, what if they're sel-
moon: sun, pause. lets not just automatically assume that yet. we don't know for sure that they've done it to themselves or if it really was their cat. i'd recommend that you keep a close eye on them for the time being and if anymore happen to show up, we need to be strong for them and be there for them every step of the way.
sun: alright. thank you for the advice moony :) i'll make sure to keep them safe and look after them until the lights are out.
moon: and don't you worry, i promise that i'll protect them from any monsters at nap time.
