[3rd POV]
Kaito runs towards Chiba. After reading the news he immediately rushed there worried about Mei's situation
"I must hurry!!!" He said as he keep running. He heard everyone's Murmurs about Raiden Ryoma and Mei
"Can you believe it ? I never thought that Raiden Ryoma is that kind of person
"Her daughter must've face the consequenses"
"Dirty money..."
"Fraud..."
The voices keeps running through my head but i shrug it off and fasten up my pace
[Mei's POV]
"Criminal's daughter!!!" Said one of the students
"Go away!" Another one said
"How does it feel? Fraud!"
"Using dirty tactics to get the goverment symphathy!!!"
Since morning i was greeted by everyone glares and words about me even those who close to me bwlecome distant and cold.
I headed towards my seat and saw it being scribbled with so many assumptions and curse words
I took a seat and lowered my head letting all the curses and mockery running through me
"Face it! You don't belong here!!!" Another student jeered
"Raiden Ryoma must have a dirty list of blackmailing the Goverment!!!"
Why is this happening.... Back then they were kind towards me.... Now they see me as a disgusting being
Did they never see me as Raiden Mei ?
Did they only see me as....
The Heiress of a massive electric company...
"Cut it out! ALL OF YOU!!!" I heard a familliar voice. I looked up and it was Kaito standing in front of me
Kaito...
"Oy! Hasakawa what are you doing ?" A boy said
"Are you blind ? I'm defending her from that ill speak of you all" he said with a cold voice
A little joyful feeling comes to my heart when he said that
"What ? You're defending that person ? What's gotten into you, didn't you heard the news, she's a criminal, her dad committed frauds and Blackmails!!!"
"Yeah and she even stained not just Chiba but entire Nagazora!!!" Said a girl
Those words made my heart broke even more as i lowered my head again and prepared for the worst yet again
"So what ? She's my friend i know her better than all of you" i looked up again after hearing Kaito said that.
"You still consider her as your friend ? She's a criminal!!!"
"Or... Did Raiden Mei bribed you to do this ?!!" A girl said.
"Or... Are you just intrested in her wealth and fortune ?!!" Another one spoke
Lots of words said to Kaito that he's just wanted to be my friend cause of anything else. I see Kaito lowered his face and he approach the boy slowly then he grabbed his collar with a strong force and land a punch on his face, that makes me suprised for a second.
"Being bribed by her ? Like hell!! And one thing, i don't seek her friendship because of her wealth. I seek her friendship because of herself, as Raiden Mei!!! Not just like you all who sees her as a heiress!!!" He shouted
He went back to my seat but stop in middle
"And if i ever see you all attempt to mock her or even plan on hurting her. I'll make sure that you'll regret it" Kaito giving them a sharp cold glare and walked again
His glare made other students shiver. Out of option, everyone starts to walk away and some others stayed in class and didn't budge at all.
He finally approached me
"Mei are you ok ?" His face now shows a concerned look
"I'm fine...." i said with a low voice that's barely audible
He glanced at my dirty desk then went to his bag picking a towel. He slowly pours a little water from his bottle and began cleaning my desk
"Kaito ?"
"Can you lift your arms up, So i can clean your desk entirely" he softly smile at me.
I did as he asked and he continued cleaning my desk
Why did you do that ?
Didn't you see what they accused me and my father for...
And yet why did you still show a smile to me....
Aren't you afraid that you're going to be hated too...
"There, its cleaned" i heard him say
The bell rang indicating that the lesson will start soon
Kaito went back to his seat. I felt looks of anger and disgust for a moment but it all died down soon when Kaito gave them all another cold glare. Sawa sensei entered the classroom and decided to start the lesson immediately.
[Timeskip]
Class are over i grabbed my lunchbox but the accusation of my father that putted on me still lingers on my mind and i am scared to move just a bit before Kaito said something.
"Mei, wanna have lunch at our usual spot ?" Kaito asked
I just nodded and decided to follow him to the school rooftop while keeping my head down just a bit, i took a little glance at every students they still show the same face as earlier but they didn't mock me maybe because Kaito giving them glares again or is it that i'm with Kaito ? Honestly.... I don't know.
We made to the rooftop and i decided to speak
"Hey, Kaito"
"Yes Mei ?"
"Why did you protect me earlier..."
"What kind of question is that, of course it's becau-"
"Didn't you hear what my father did??!!" i cut his word
"He comitted so many Crimes and other kinds of bad things!!!" I said again
"Mei..."
"And if you keep protecting me you'll ended up being hated and mocked by everyone else...." My hand trembles when i said that, i just don't want Kaito to be hated by everyone
i heard footsteps and Kaito stopped in front of me, he held both of my shoulders. I looked at him straight in the face
"I don't care about that and like i said before i know who you really are and what did your father do and others it doesn't matter and i will protect you from those who tries to harm you physically or mentally" He said
"But why... Why did you do that for me.... ?" I said
"What kind of question is that ?"
"Of course, it's because you're my friend. You are important to me" He smiled. My heart skip a few beats when he said that and sees he smiles afterward
"Kaito..." i felt my eyes teared up
"And i will never regret becoming your friends" he continued
Kaito suddenly pulled me into a hug
"I know it's hard for you so... let it out..." He gently patted my head
Tears started flowing out from me and i buried my face into his shirt and wrapped ny hands on him and i cried, letting all the emotions that i've been holding from morning flows out like a river.
After a while i lift my face up from his shirt and looked down
"Feeling better yet ?" he asked with a comfort smile
I noded slowly then both of us hear a door suddenly slammed open!
"Kaito!! Mei Senpai!!!" It was Kiana chan, oh no! Will she hate me because of today incident ???
"Ah!! Kaito, that's cheating you were having a lovey dovey moment with Mei Senpai while i'm not here!!" Kiana said
Realization hit me, i was hugging him, i quickly let go of my hand from Kaito folowed by a flush
Kiana walked towards me
"Nee, Mei Senpai are you ok ? I heard everyone's making bad rumours aboht you" Kiana said with a concerned look
"I'm fine Kiana chan" i assured her
Kiana sighed in relief
"Good grief, I was scared, thinking about what will they did to you earlier" she said
"They did mock me earlier but Kaito protected me" I looked at Kaito
"Ah yes i just remembered, Kaito why didn't you knock on my door earlier we could've went to school together and prevent others from mocking Mei Senpai or... don't tell me that you didn't knock on my door because you wanted to have a lovey dovey moment with Mei Senpai like earlier" Kiana exclaimed with a surprised look
Kaito chopped her head
"Ouch!!"
"Like hell! I was panicked earlier, and immediately ran to Chiba worried about her"
Hearing that i smiled, what he said earlier is the truth he really cares about me, i am really glad that he didn't turned against me like others
"Mmm..... But i wont forgive you for not knocking my door" she said while looking away from him
"Kiana... I told you i was panicked"
"Hmph! Excuses" she said
"Hey! Don't make me look like i did it on purpose"
The two of them argue and bickered. Seeing them arguing i laughed.
"Mei senpai ?"
"Sorry, it's just it's so funny seeing you arguing... hahahaha..." i laughed again covering my mouth
I see Kaito and Kiana calmed down for a moment
"Anyway, how about we eat lunch before the times ran out" Kaito said
We sat down and enjoyed our lunch, unfortunately Kiana chan didn't brought or bought her Lunch, Kaito offered her his lunch and She immediately accepts it without a single doubt, seeing his lunch eaten by Kiana chan i offered Kaito mine but he declines it saying that he is fine without lunch but i insisted leaving him no choice to share my lunch with him.
[Timeskip]
I walked back to class with Kaito and yet no one mock me, not like morning earlier. When we made to our class i see my desk now still clear and there is no trace of scribbles maybe Kaito threats work on them. The class starts and i sat down and my seat. During the lesson, i took glance at Kaito but somehow i can't take off my sight from him today
"I will never regret being your friend"
That words rang in my mind and whenever i remembers it my heart beats faster, Kaito noticed that i was looking at him and he showed the same smile as earlier. I quickly looked away seeing it and felt my cheeks heating up
'What's going on with me... Why did i looked away, he just smiled at me but that smile feels comfortable and warm... Ah!! Why did i think about that...'
I continued to pay attention towards the lesson but i still took a glance at Kaito for a few seconds.
[End of the school, Kaito's POV]
Me and Kiana waited for Sato AKA Mei's driver to pick her up.
"Kaito..." Mei called me
"Yes ?"
"Thank you for earlier.... I don't know what will happen if you didn't show up and also i'm sorry for my words at Lunchtime" she said
"Don't mention it, i already said before i will protect you from those asshat who friendly towards you before knowing the incident" he said
"And i will protect Mei Senpai from them too, who knows maybe i will do a better job at protecting you" Kiana exclaimed
"I highly doubt that" I gave her a blank stare
"Eh ? Why ???" Kiana confused
"Looking back from a week ago ehen you were about to protect a little girl from bullies and yet you ended up calling for me to help." I said
"That was a different matter and i learnt from my past mistakes. Right now i am confident about protecting Mei Senpai, i guarantee" She stated proudly but somehow it will only gave me another nuisance
We heard a sound of a car and a black lino stopped in front of us
"Well... I guess i'll see you tomorrow" Mei said
"Yeah... And if you need anything you can contact me through phones" i said
"And me too!!" Kiana joined
Mei giggled and went in
The car slowly drove away and disappear when it took a turn
"*Sigh* what a tiring day" i said but nevertheless i am also happy that Mei finally can smile again after what happened earlier.
Suddenly i heard a stomach growl and i glanced at Kiana
"Ehehe.... I think it's time for Dinner" she scratched her head and laughed awkwardly
I sighed again
"Alright, let's go buy some ingredients for Dinner"
"Eh, Kaito ? You're inviting me for Dinner again ?" She asked
"Yup and also i'm feeling Motivated to cook for a sudden"
"Yayyy!!! Then let's make haste!!" She ran away pass me
"Oi!! Kiana slow down!!" I chased her
[???'s POV]
I slammed my desk
"Damn it! Why it didn't work she should've turned into a herrscher by now!!"
"Maybe you should've prepare a better plan than this ? Cause my institution said it wont work since 3 days ago" said a person who leaned against a wall
I glared at him but he didn't seem to budge. I took a sit and re-thinking about what should i do next
"Leave me for a moment"
"Oya ? Thought you called me earlier for company" the person said
"I did but for now i need some time alone, Alan"
"If you say so" Alan walked out from the room
[Alan's POV]
I walked out and see Bronya sit down while holding her HOMU doll
"Were you eavesdropping ?" I asked
She nodded
"Matushka is really angry about the plan didn't work as she imagine"
"Well, you could say that but knowing her she must be planning something again, man that old hag is really ambitious about it" i said
"It's for Seele of course" Bronya said
I stopped for a second remembering the incident where Seele disappeared
"Yes... it is and her plan didn't work because 'he' was around the Herrscher host" i said to Bronya
"Alan Nii, who is the 'he' that you are referring too ?" Bronya asked about it
"Nothing!" I give her a straight answer, i looked at her blank face but i can feel her angry and curious expression
"Anyway, im off for a Pizza wanna come ?" I offered her
"Nyet, and beside Alan Nii should stop eating Pizzas it's not good for your body" Bronya advised me
"Well, i think you're right... but, i will go eat Pizza anyway" i walked away leaving Bronya behind
"This is getting more and nore interesting...."
