"Kenny what the hell are you doing here?" You place your hand on your hip while intensely staring the boy down.
He smiles a little, "What? I just wanted to meet your brother and hang out!" He grabs the bong that was on the coffee table and takes a hit from it.
You turn to Leo with a confused face. He simply shrugs his shoulders and laughed. You groan, annoyed. "At least let me hit that."
You grab the bong from Kenny and take a seat on the couch next to him, lighting the bowl and inhaling the earthy smoke.
You sink into the comfy couch as Kenny slowly scooted closer to you. You kick him discretely, your brother would freak out if he found out you were secretly seeing Kenny.
Leo, unaware of the tension asks you, "So (Y/N) how was working on your project with Kyle?" Kenny felt his hands tense up at the thought of the two of you alone together.
You placed the bong back onto the table. "Yeah it went well. We didn't get much done with the project though." You laughed.
"What? What did you guys do then?" Kenny suddenly asks, his voice raised a little bit. You look at him with a confused face.
"Well we just watched a movie. The project is super easy so it won't take us long to finish it..." You tell him, still confused by his sudden outburst.
Kenny relaxes again, taking another hit from the bong. Leo stands up from the couch, "Well I'm gonna go lay down. You guys... behave." He gave you a stern look before retreating to his room.
As soon as Leo leaves, you turn to Kenny and silently shout at him, "Kenny seriously, what were you thinking coming here!" You roll your eyes, annoyed that he put you in an awkward position.
Kenny looks at you, "What's wrong? I just wanted to hang out with you." He takes another hit from the bong, trying to ease the tension.
You take a deep breath, trying not to snap at the boy. "Ken, I told you we could hang out another time. I really don't want Leo, or anyone, knowing about... us." You say quietly, averting your eyes from his.
Kenny begins, "I know. I just... wanted to see you I guess." He stands up from the couch, causing you to look up at his stoic face. "I'll see you later." You watch as he walks over to the door.
"Wait, where are you going?" you ask, feeling a sense of panic rising in your chest.
Kenny turns around and gives you a small smile. "I think it's best if I go. I don't want to cause any more trouble."
You feel a pang of sadness at his words. "Okay, I'll see you later then." You watch as he leaves, feeling a sense of emptiness as the door closes behind him.
Why do I feel like this? You think to yourself, confused why Kenny's sudden exit was bothering you so much. It's not like he's my boyfriend or anything...
You feel your phone buzz in your pocket. You take a look to see that Stan had texted you.
Stan: hey (Y/N) my friend tolkien is having a party this weekend. u wanna go?
(Y/N): yeah for sure!
Stan follows your message with the details of when and where the party would be. You smile happily, excited that you will be able to meet some new friends.
The next day arrives and you begin your morning routine to get ready for school. Once you're all dressed up, you make your way to the bus stop. Surprisingly, you arrived earlier than usual, and as you approach the stop, you notice that there's only one person waiting there - Kyle. You flash him a friendly smile and walk up next to him.
"Hey Kyle!" you greet him warmly. He smiles back at you, but his hands keep fidgeting with the hem of his sweater.
"(Y/N), are you going to Tolkien's party this weekend?" Kyle asks you.
You nod in affirmation, "yeah, but I've never actually met Tolkien before. I hope it's not too weird that I'm going," you confess, feeling a bit apprehensive about attending the party.
"I'm sure you'll fit in just fine, (Y/N). You're really cool, and I don't think Tolkien will mind," Kyle reassures you with a genuine smile.
As you and Kyle continue chatting, Kenny arrives at the bus stop. He's wearing his usual orange parka. He greets both of you, "Hey guys" before shuffling over to stand beside you.
"Hey Kenny," you say with a smile, and he responds with a small smile in return.
Stan and Cartman finally show up, just in time for the bus. As the bus pulls up, you all board and find seats together. The ride to school is relatively quiet, with occasional small talk between you all.
As the three of you stepped off the bus and began to make your way towards the school, Cartman's voice suddenly erupted in a loud whine. "Aye! What's all this talk about a party at Tolkien's house? Why the hell wasn't I invited!" His tone was pouty, almost like a child who had been denied a toy.
You couldn't help but roll your eyes in response. "Probably because you're a giant douche?" You retorted, wondering why these guys even put up with Cartman.
Kyle, always quick to back you up, chimed in. "She's right dude." He crossed his arms.
Cartman turned to face you both, his expression twisted into a sneer. "Shut up! You're a Jew," he pointed at Kyle, "and you're a chick. Both of your opinions are invalid." He then turned to point at you, his finger jabbing towards your face.
You sighed, already tired of the argument. "Cartman, I'm just saying that maybe if you weren't such an asshole, people would actually invite you to things!" Kyle shouted, his voice laced with frustration.
"Shut up Kahl! I do what I want!" Cartman bellowed, stomping away from the group in a huff. You couldn't help but laugh at the childish display, shaking your head in disbelief.
"Lets just get to class already," you said, turning to walk with Stan. You headed into the school building, already wishing for the day to be over.
After school had ended, you left the buildings in hopes of finding Kenny. You had felt bad about him leaving the other day, wanting to make up for it.
Once you saw him in the distance on his phone, you walked over to greet him. "Hey Kenny!" you said, grabbing his attention.
"Hey (Y/N)," he says, running his hand through his blond locks. You give him a kind smile, "could I come over to your house today?" you ask him.
He smiles widely, "yeah for sure. Let's go" he tells you as you follow him in the direction of his house.
It seems as though neither of his parents are home again, you wonder what they could be doing. You follow him back into his room and take a seat on the bed.
Kenny goes to his desk and picks up a pre-rolled joint for the two of you. Both of you take turns hitting in while sitting next to one another on his bed.
You look over at his relaxed face, the way his messy hair fell over his face. They way his blue eyes sparkled in the dim light of his room.
As you took another hit from the joint, you felt any bad thoughts melting away. You turned towards Kenny and smiled, "Thanks for letting me come over."
He grinned back at you, "Yeah, it's always better when you're around."
You felt a blush creeping up your neck and you looked down at your lap. Why am I so nervous?
"So Ken, are you gonna go to Tolkien's party this weekend? Stan asked if I wanted to go." You ask him, leaning your head onto his shoulder.
He places his hand on your head, "Yeah I was planning on going, you being there will be a bonus" he tells you.
You feel butterflies in your stomach, "I think it'll be fun. But don't try anything at the party" you tell him, to which he has no response.
You turn your head and place a kiss on his cheek before closing your eyes and resting your head onto his shoulder.
I don't know how much more I can handle.
