I just woke up and looked over at Shuri soundly asleep on the other side of my bed. Today is Saturday the day of my sister's funeral. I slowly got up out my bed and went to the bathroom. When I finished up in the bathroom I went back into my room, I was about to get back in the bed but someone knocked on my bedroom door.
I walked over to the door instead of asking who it was because Shuri was still asleep. I opened the door and saw Okoye.
"Good morning Y/n" Okoye said
"Good morning" I said hugging Okoye
"How have you been" Okoye said hugging me back
"I've been better" I said letting her go
"I'm sorry for your loss" She said standing up straight
I just nodded I didn't know what to say
"Oh before I forget have you seen the princess"
"Not since last night no I haven't" I lied because I didn't want a repeat of last time when Shuri and I slept together in the same bed
"Well if you see her please let her know that The Queen needs to tell her something" Okoye said before going on about her business.
I shut my door and saw that Shuri was still asleep so I decided to wake her up so she could start getting ready
"Shuri" I gently shook her
"Hm" she replied all tired
"You gotta get up" I said now shaking her while appling more pressure
"Lemme get 5 more minutes"
"No come on you gotta get up"
"Please just 5 more minutes"
"Fine" I went back to the bathroom to shower and did my skincare. When I got out I saw Shuri was still asleep so I went into my closet and put on some blue sweats and a oversized shirt from my suitcase
(no shoes obvi socks instead)
After I put my clothes on I went to try and get Shuri up. First I opened the blinds for extra help because she's a heavy sleeper.
"Shuri get uuuuppppppp" I said shaking her
"5 more minutes"
"No get up"
"Just gimme a sec"
"Ok" I said walking out I don't wanna argue I'm just so mentally drained. I ended up walking to the beach to clear my head.
Shuri Pov
I just woke up with the sun blinding me. When I looked around I realized that Y/n wasn't here
"Y/n" I said checking the closet and bathroom
"She's really not in here maybe she's eating breakfast or something like that" I said to myself
I quickly went to my room and showered and went looking for Y/n.
First I looking in the dinning hall she wasn't there. I asked people have they seen her but they were so worried about the funeral, something told me to check the beach and I saw her
Y/n Pov
I was just thinking until my thoughts were interrupted when Shuri came
"Good morning" Shuri said walking to where I am
"Morning" I said playing with my fingers
"I thought I'd find you here"
"Good to see you got up"
"Yea Yea, how you feeling"
"Like shit I don't know if I can do this anymore"
"Y/n what do you mean"
"I'm not saying I wanna kill myself but I just want a fresh start. Then other days I wished the pills would've worked"
"Y/n I'm here for you remember that"
"Yea I know, but we should probably go and get ready for the funeral"
"Your right" Shuri said standing up and helping me up
"Oh, Okoye was looking for you earlier and I forgot to tell you"
"Did she say what she needed"
"Just that your mom needed to tell you something"
"Ok thanks"
Shuri Pov
I just left Y/n and I'm trying to figure out what my mom wanted to talk to me about. When I found her she was in her room getting ready
"Hey mom what did you need"
"Oh I just wanted to tell you that I don't want you hanging around Y/n"
"Mom I haven't seen her for over 3 years please don't be like that"
"Shuri please, I don't like the influence that girl has on you"
"Ok" I wanted to ask her what she ment but I didn't have anytime to waste because I needed to be on time for the funeral
Time Skip
The theme for the funeral is a dark blue. When I got there I saw Y/n and her looked beautiful in her dark blue dress sitting next to her mother.
I was going to say something but someone grabbed my arm.
It was Marcus
"Hey Shuri I need your help in the lab Griot is acting up" He said
"How is he acting up?" I questioned
"I'll explain in the lab we don't have time to waste" He said while grabbing my arm
"Fine" I said looking back a Y/n before I left
In the lab
"Ok so what's wrong with Griot" I asked
"Oh nothing but we normally we skip the funerals so I had to make up an excuse this time"
I started to become irritated because I know need to be there for Y/n. I told her I was going to be there and I'm not.
"Marcus I can't not today" I said calmly
"Why not who's more important then your boyfriend... I know what it is your cheating on with that dyke what's her name" He started snapping trying to remember her name
"First of all I'm not cheating on you second of all she's not a dyke. The fact that you think I would cheat is crazy I'm loyal and you have trust issues that you need to work out
"Yea yea yea dyke lesbian same thing. If your not cheating on me then why are you defending that lesbian huh"
"Im defending my FRIEND because that's what friends do for each other.
"Mhm go to your 'friend' then we're done"
"Fine with me" I said walking out going back to the funeral looking for Y/n
Y/n Pov
I didn't see Shuri at the funeral like she said would be and I was becoming overwhelmed so I left and went back to my room and called Riri and Chloe

"Hey y'all" I said sniffling
"Y/n what's wrong" Riri asked
"I don't really wanna talk about it right now I need a distraction"
"Hey y'all" Chloe asked as she just joined the call
"Hey" I said dryly
"What's wrong" Chloe asked sounding worried
"I don't wanna talk about it right now"
"Well I had my first appointment yesterday" Riri said changing the subject
"That's good how did it go"
"Pretty good everything is fine the baby is healthy"
"Chloe how are you doing"
"Shit I've been good"
"That's good-" I was saying before someone knocked on the door
"Hold on imma call y'all back" I said hanging up and going to the door
"Who is it"
"It's me" Shuri said on the other side of the door
"What do you want" I asked annoyed
"I just wanna apologize" She said sounding sincere
"Fine" I said while opening the door and closing it after she came in
"Look I'm sorry that I wasn't at the funeral like I said I would but something came up"
"Ok" I said sitting down. I don't feel like arguing I'm just tired
"What do you mean ok"
"Ok I accept your apology, now is that all"
"Yea I guess that was it"
"Alright then"
"Imma go now"
"Mhm"
I ended up staying in my room and skipping the reception after the funeral because I was so drained.
That same night I kinda wanted to know why Shuri couldn't come but that's none of my business
