[Kaito's POV]
It's been 2 months, Kiana has attended Chiba and looks like she is my kouhai. I introduced her to Mei and surprisingly they got along together and she even proposed to her when Mei let Kiana tasted her lunch, that incident honestly made me laugh for a minute and lately i've been seeing uniformed man wearing a familiar insignia in the city looking at it i know they didn't work for the police. Looks like something is about to happen and i have a feeling it's going to be a bad one
(Rooftop Lunchtime)
"Hmmm... Mei senpai Lunch tastes so good!!!" Kiana exclaimed happily.
Right now we are having Lunch and the School's rooftop is our exactly place to eat and hang together
"Kiana, you already have yours" I sighed and continue eating my lunch
"Ehehehe... Sorry it's just whatever Mei Senpai cooks taste so good" Kiana scratched her head in embarrassment
"don't you think so too Kaito ?" She continued
"Well you're not wrong, I do enjoy her cooking" I said while remembering when Mei made me lunch. Mei face has a shade of red when i said that and i just react with a chuckle
"Oh yeah, What is your Lunch Kaito ?" Kiana asked me while looking at my lunch
"Just Karage and Sausage, nothing special" I said and continued eating.
I look at Kiana and she was drooling and i know what is her intention
"Kaito, can i...."
"No!" I gave her an answer
"Just a little bit.."
"No Kiana you already got your own" I pointed the Yakisoba-pan and an Apple juice in a box
"But i want yours too, just a little..." Kiana gave me a puppy eye look but it didn't have any effect on me
"Not gonna happen Kiana" I stated
Kiana puffed her cheeks and went to Mei
"Mei senpai Kaito is being mean to me"
"It's alright" Mei patted her
"Mei, if you keep pampering her she won't grow up" I said
"But still don't be too harsh on her Kaito" Mei said
"Ah! I just remember tomorrow is Nagazora Kitsune Celebration right ?" Kiana now back to her cheerful state
"Oh, that's right!" Mei exclaimed
"Nagazora Kitsune Celebration ?" I asked confused
"It's a monthly celebration held in Nagazora's temple. A celebration for our Inari deity that protects Nagazora a long time ago" Mei explained to me
"Ehh... Inari deity." I didn't know that there some kind of Festival like that maybe i should start read some newspaper and watch the latest News on TV and Phone not just my Mom's poetry book
"And one more best thing about that is.... FESTIVAL FOOD!!!!" Kiana shouted at the end
"Keep your voice down Kiana or you'll get us into trouble" I said
Mei giggled
"Kiana Chan always excited when it comes to food"
"Ehehehe..... sorry" Kiana said with an embarrassed smile
"Anyway, will you two come to the Festival ?" Kiana asked
"Well i'm free tomorrow, so i can come" Mei word made Kiana smiled
"How about you Kaito ? Are you coming too ?" Mei now asked me
Seeing their expression i say
"Guess i'll come along too" i chuckled
"Then it's settled, the three of us will meet at the temple entrance tomorrow!!" Kiana raised her hand
"Ah! Lunchtime is almost over, we better finish our lunch now" Mei said and the rest of us continue eating our lunch not long after we finished eating the bell chimed and we headed towards our classroom to continue the lesson.
(Timeskip)
"Alright, that will be the lesson for today and a reminder that there will be test coming next few weeks so don't forget to study" Hanawa sensei told us and then left the class.
I pack up my belongings and so does Mei
"Kaito! Mei Senpai!" Kiana shouted from the door and waved towards both of us.
We went out and chatted, and when we made it to the school gate, Mei's driver was already waiting. Mei bid farewell to us and went off to her home leaving me and Kiana. I decided to go to the Supermarket to buy some stock for next week while Kiana went straight to the apartment.
"Celery, Salt, Pepper, Soy Sauce, Seaweed, and others.... Yup all done" i double checked after buying and feeling everything is completed i walked home.
While walking I passed a Game Store with a few merchandise in it, seeing the Homu figure in the store window it reminds me of someone from my past. I noticed the Store door was opened and a silver haired little girl with a twin drill braid walked out and ran away while holding a Homu Doll in her arm. Seeing her my eyes widened and i decided to chase her
"It can't be...." I hurriedly walked toward the girl but when she took a turn she was gone without trace. I was confused. I swear that girl is the same girl from my past. After that I decided to leave for home but the girl figure still lingers in my mind.
"Bronya..." i quietly spoke
2 Days later
The day finally arrived right now i'm at the Temple's entrance waiting for Kiana and Mei. I looked around and noticed some families and people walked pass wearing Yukata, honestly i kinda feel left out because all i'm wearing is just a Black coat with a Gray buttoned shirt inside and navy blue pants. I looked at my phone and contacted both of them, Mei said that she is currently on her way and for Kiana she's at the train station.
After a few minutes of waiting, Kiana made first
"Sorry for making you wait" She said
"It's alright" i assured her
Kiana is wearing a Blue Yukata with flower patterns on it and a Yellow Obi, She kept her twin braids not changing it
"So Kaito.... How do i look ?" She put her hands behind
"Amazing" i answered
Kiana smiled brightly hearing my respond
We talked for a bit while waiting for Mei. Then a black Limo stopped beside us, the door opened and Mei came out from the inside.
She is wearing a Dark Purple Yukata and her Purple hair are tied into a bun with a flower ribbon that held her bun
"Sorry to make both of you wait, i was stuck in a traffic" she apologized to us
"It's ok, no big deal" I assured her
"Mei Senpai! You look amazing" Said Kiana as she examined Mei's Yukata
Mei giggled
"Thank you, Kiana chan"
Mei now looked at me
"Umm.... Kaito, do i look weird ?" She asked shyly
I was dazed, her Dark Purple Yukata perfectly matched her hair and her shyness is just a cherry on top
"You look.... Gorgeous". That's all i can say to describe her
I took a glance at Mei, her face reddened because of my Praise
"Ah! Kaito, why didn't you wear a Jinbei ?" Kiana chimed while looking at my outfit
"Ah, that... Well i don't have one to be precise or should i say... I forgot to buy one hehe" i chuckled
Kiana gave me a 'seriously' look while Mei just giggled
"Didn't know you could be so forgetful Kaito" Mei said
"Hey, i'm a human too so forgetting things is normal" i said
Kiana and Mei laughed at me and i just sighed
"Let's go! Before the food stalls ran out" Kiana exclaimed and ran inside in a hurry
"Kiana chan wait up!" Mei followed.
I sighed and followed both of them, everytime there's food Kiana will always become energetic.
When we arrived inside there's a lot of Stalls with some selling Foods, Yukatas, and masks and there's even a fortune slip.
"FESTIVAL FOODS" Kiana excitedly says as she rushed into a Choco Banana stall.
"Oi! Kiana keep your voice down" I said
She ordered one and quickly took a bite
"Sowwy Kaytuo, It.. jwust twe fwood wis goud" she said while munching
"Swallow the food first before talking" i chopped her head
"Ouch!" She rubbed her head
"Sorry..."
"Kaito... Don't treat her like that, i already told you before" Mei patted Kiana and she let out a cute noise
Seeing Mei patted her feels like i'm watching a Mother calming down her child
"Oh, right since we are inside, how about we go to the shrine first then we could enjoy the stalls here" Mei suggested
"Good idea" i said and Kiana nodded
We left the Stalls and went to the Shrine. Before entering the first Tori our eyes are pointed at a Kitsune statue
"Mei Senpai, look a Kitsune statue!!" Kiana pointed
"It is, this shrine really has lots of backstory with Kitsune" Mei explained
"Interesting..." I held my chin and looked at the statue
"By the way this one looks different" Kiana say as she looked at another statue
Mei and i looked at the statue that Kiana talked about and it is indeed looked different. The statue has a necklace and some kind of Seal on it
"Honestly i don't know Kiana chan" Mei examined the statue
I looked at the statue and somehow it emitting a strange aura, a dark one to be precise
"Kaito ?"
"Kaito ??"
I snapped out of my trance and sees Mei looked at me
"Ah, sorry what were you saying ?"
"I didn't say anything, you were spacing out a moment ago. Are you alright" Mei said with a worried tone at the last part
"I'm fine, Mei" i replied back to ease her worry
When i look back at Kiana she is currently patting the statue's head. After patting it she turned around and comes toward us
"Alright let's go to shrine now" she exclaimed and ran through the stairs
"Oi! Wait for us!!" I said
[3rd POV]
The statue eyes glowed a bit and eminiscing a strabge aura
"Ka...ll..en" a voice echoes from the statue
The statue's eye dimmed and the aura vanished
[Kaito's POV]
While walking through the stairs we saw a lots of tori on our way up and a Sakura tree, finally after a few minutes we arrived at the shrine
"Let us make a wish" Mei said
I grabbed a coin so does Kiana and Mei and tossed to the 'Saisen'
Kiana rang the bell and we prayed
[Timeskip]
While going down the stairs we chatted for a bit
"Nee, Mei Senpai what are you wishing for ?" Kiana asked
"Hmm... For me i wished that my father could spend some more time with me" Mei answered
"I see, he must've been busy with works lately right ?" i said
"I know... It's just, i hope he could spend some more time with me" Mei said
"How about you Kiana chan ?" Mei asked Kiana
"I wish for more money and food!!" Kiana said
"*sigh* Should've known" I said
Mei giggled
"Hey! It's a simple wish Kaito!" Kiana said
"But you could've wish for anything else like better grades or something" i said as i remembered her low score and she always begs me to teach him at the apartment
"No, i still won't change my wish" Kiana stated
"Oh yeah, Kaito, what did you wish for ?" Kiana asked
"Me ? Well i just wish that i could do best for all of my friends this past year and.." i stopped mid sentence
"I wish i could be stronger" as i say that that incident starts playing again in mind like an old tape
There was a moment of silence until i decided to speak again
"Well i hope our wish is granted" i said lightening up the mood
Mei nodded
"Hope so"
We walked down and arrived at the stalls again, it was slowly getting dark but we still have plenty of time to spend
"I wanted to go to the food stalls!! I'll see you two in a bit!!" Kiana ran away towards the stalls leaving me and Mei
"So... Mei you want to visit anything here ?" I asked
"Eh ? Well since you mention that, i do want to visit some" Mei answered
"Alright then i'll accompany you" I answered
"Eh ? How about Kiana chan ?"
"She will probably call us.."
I accompany Mei and we looked around some of the stalls
[Kiana's POV]
I was walking while munching a cotton candy until a Yakisoba stall caught my attention
"Ah! Yakisoba!!"
When i walked towards the stall someone accidentally bumped on me. I lost my balance and about to fall but suddenly someone catch me, when i looked at the person it was a white haired boy with golden eye and a visible gray coat
"Are you ok ?" He says
"Ah, im fine, anyway thank you for saving me" i regained my balance and bowed
"It's nothing" he smiled
"My cotton candy..." i looked at the remains of it on the ground
"How about i treat you to another one ?" The boy offered
"Eh ? I can buy another one... You don't have to.." I tried to refuse his offer politely
"It's ok, i insisted" he stated
"Alright..." i gave in to his offer
He approach a Cotton Candy stall buying one Cotton Candy from it and then gives it to me
"Here, you go"
"Thank you, very much" i thanked him
"It's nothing," He replied
"By the way did you come here alone ?" He asked me
"No, i came with my friends"
"I see.. Then if you come with your friends, why aren't you with them ?" He let out confused expression
"Ah... about that, i was too busy looking at the food stall so i left them" i scratched my head and laugh awkwardly
The boy laughed
"I see... So you have an interest in food" he held his chin
"Of course ! Good food is everything" i stated proudly and the boy laughed again but this time it was a little loud
"Hahahahaha!!"
"I really meant it" I crossed my arm
"Sorry, sorry... It just that i never hear someone or anyone saying that food is everything" he tries to stop his laughter
I pouted
"Well since you were speaking about food, how about i show you some stalls that sells a good one" he said
Hearing that i nodded without hesitation and followed him
We walked to some stalls and what was he saying before is true, the food that he showed me was amazing.
"Hmmmm~~~ This Yakisoba is really really good!!" I said after i took a bite
"Told ya!" He said as he took a bite from his Pizza
"Hey, how did you know about every stall that sells good things ?" I asked
"Well, let's just say that i have an eye for it" he said
I just stared at him deadpanned
*beep* *beep*
I heard a Phone beeping and it's from him. He picked it up and looked at it
"Ah! Sorry but i have to go, see you !!" he said and walked away
I waved my hand as he slowly walk away from me
"That person is surely interesting... Ah!!! I forgot to ask him about his name!!!" i said
Then something clicked on my head
"Ah! Yeah Mei Senpai, Kaito!!" I ran to find them
[3rd POV, somewhere]
The boy earlier walked a little far from the Stalls
"You're late Alan Nii" said a silver haired girl with twin drill braids
"Sorry, it's just, i met someone interesting" he said
"Anyway, did Matushka already send the information and location ?" He continued
"Da!" the girl answered
"Alright" he approached a bush and grabbed something inside from it .
After grabbing it he quickly drew it out, revealing a long sword with a heavy double edged blade, notched on both sides near the tip, the guard is skeletal, with a skull-design on each side leading to the rib cage from which the blade emerges.
"Let's get going, Bronya" he said as he put the sword on his back
She nodded and both of them starts running away
[Kaito, 3rd POV]
"Gah! It broke again" Kaito said with a frustrated tone
Right Kaito and Mei are at the Fish scooping stall and this is his 3th attempt on scooping a fish
"It's ok Kaito" Mei said holding gis shoulder
"Would you like to try again ?" The stall man offered
"As tempted that sound to me but i think i'll have to pass" Kaito declined
"Well, come back anytime!"
Without budging the man Kaito walked away with Mei still feeling frustrated about earlier.
"It's ok Kaito you did your best back then" Mei tried to cheer him up
"Sorry Mei i thought i could get one for you" Kaito said
"It's fine besides- you accompanying me is enough" Mei whispered at the last part
"You said something ?" Kaito checking
"It's nothing" her face showed a shade of red
"Well i could accompany you anytime if you wanted" Kaito teased her
"So you did hear it!" Mei face now reddened
He just smiled hearing her response. They walked for a while until they heard a familiar sound
"Kaito!! Mei Senpai!!!" The sounds come from behind them, they turned around and greeted by a walking Kiana who tackled them into a hug
"Kiana chan.."
"So... Has your quest for finding good food been accomplished ?" Kaito said as releasing himself from the hug
"Of course i did" she gives him a thumbs up
"Well maybe you could tell us some" Mei said
"Well since all of us are here, how about we play some games" i said as i pointed to a game stall
Kiana nodded eagerly and Mei agreed.
[Timeskip, Kaito's POV]
I looked at my phone and the time shows 11 am, didn't know that i spent that amount of time with Kiana and Mei, i am walking home right now, Mei has already picked up by her driver before and for Kiana, she decided to go home early an hour before me and Mei.
"What a fun and tiring day" i said as i walked through the block
Suddenly I heard an explosion not far, I quickly ran towards the source. When i made towards the source i see some Honkai beasts
"Honkais ?? I thought this place was a Honkai free zone" i said as i motioning my had to summon my Katana until i sees a few Gunshots being fired towards the Honkai
"Huh ?" I stopped motioning my hand and looked at the source. It was coming from on top of the building and at the building I saw a person holding two Pistols and a Long sword on his back. When i saw the person i was shocked because that person feels really familiar
"It can't... be..." i stuttered
The person motion a 'see ya' gesture with his hand and jumped back
I was still shocked from that person until a Police siren snapped me out.
"Police ? Better get out of here or i'll be get into an unwanted trouble" i said as i started to run away
[Timeskip]
I arrived at my apartment but that incident still lingers in my mind
"If that figure is him then Cocolia must be planning something"
I entered my apartment and quickly went to sleep to ease my mind
[Next day]
I woke up and wore my uniform but out of nowhere my phone buzzed. I picked it up and my eyes widen
"What??!!!" I said shocked
It was the local news and the headlines is what shocks me the most
