The medical droid beeped excitedly as it located the little life in your belly. You could see the outline of little fists and feet as it squirmed around in your stomach. This baby belonged to you and Boba Fett; your husband.
You had been pregnant now for around 12 weeks and you were contemplating how to tell Boba. He had never seemed fond of becoming a father, but there was no way he would abandon you when he found out about your pregnancy. It was still nerve-wracking though, as he was an impressive bounty hunter with a large following. His enemies were more bountiful than his friends. A baby was a risk in his business,
"Would you like to know the gender?" the droid asked while rolling over to your side, "I have it right here in my mind after watching the ultrasound."
You really wanted Boba to be around for the reveal part, but the sheer fear of him abandoning you once he realized you were pregnant scared you. The fear almost made you completely lose all control, which the droid noticed,
"Please calm down, ma'am," the droid said, pointing at your heart monitor, "Your heart is racing far faster than a woman in your condition should. What is making you panic?"
"I'm worried my husband won't want this baby," you admitted, very upset that those thoughts were present in the first place, "He's always talked about how he doesn't want kids because of how dangerous his line of work is. I completely understood that, but somehow we still got pregnant. I know deep down Boba would choose his line of work over my baby and I, so I don't want to give him a reason to leave so soon."
"You don't have much trust in your husband, then," the droid answered while wheeling over to its table in the corner of the room, "I know you didn't ask for my advice, but I say you should learn the gender and do a kind of reveal for him. I was programmed in psychology briefly, and I know people are more likely to form connections, even with unborn fetuses, if they have normalities like known-gender or age group it is in regarding development."
You pondered that. It made sense. Maybe if Boba Fett knew he was having a precious baby boy or girl, it might make a difference on whether or not he leaves you,
"Okay, tell me the gender, please," you answered while looking back at the monitor.
The medical droid nodded and buzzed while rolling back over to the monitor. It pointed its finger at the screen; whirring excitedly,
"You and Mr. Boba Fett are expecting a little girl."
Your heart swelled in happiness over that announcement. You would've been happy with whatever the droid said, but you've wanted a little girl since you were young. You let the droid finish up its work, then you got back into your old travel clothes,
"Thank you," you said to the droid while plopping the credits it required onto the table, "I really appreciate the advice you gave me. I would've never expected advice like that from a droid."
The droid bowed and left the room. You also decided to leave after that and head back towards Tatooine where you and your husband lived. You didn't particularly like Tatooine, but Boba worked for Jabba more often than not, so the two of you bought a property out there so Boba could work.
Bossk had travelled to the emergency doctor with you, as Boba was very busy at Jabba's palace today. The Hutt had been hiring him consistently to make sure nothing would get out of hand around the palace. He should get home soon.
"Feeling okay?" the Trandoshan asked as you stepped onto his ship and walked by his side to the cockpit, "You weren't gone very long."
You smiled cheerfully and nodded. Bossk knew about your impending life and he was very thrilled for you and Boba, "Yes. Everything went fine. Boba and I are having a girl."
"Yes-s-s!" the bounty hunter hissed while kicking the ship to life, "I had a feeling it would be a girl! Congratulations-s-s!"
Bossk was always the hype man you and Boba had hoped for in your relationship. You were even planning on making the lizard your baby's godfather. But, that would come after you spoke to your husband and told him about everything. You figured Boba would want Bossk to be the baby's godfather as well. The two bounty hunters had been through a lot together.
Bossk forced the ship out of the ozone layer and directed it towards Tatooine. The ride was very brief, as Bossk's ship was fast. Tatooine came into sight, and the two of you decided to head back to your house. Your husband should be home by now.
Bossk led the ship towards yours and Boba's dwelling and smiled, "Congrats-s-s again. I wish you and Boba; no matter how much I hate Boba, a happy life. S-s-see you later, (Y/N)."
He was the sweetest guy ever, besides Boba of course. The lizard had always been there for you from the start of yours and Boba's relationship. Although Bossk claims to hate Boba, he's not telling the truth. Bossk would die for Boba, as Boba would die for Bossk. You hoped it would never come to that for either of them.
You waved goodbye to Bossk then headed inside; eager and nervous for your husband to come home.
You started up some dinner while you waited. You chopped some potatoes, celery, carrots, and beef for a stew. Boba loved stew, especially the stew you made. You used a family recipe that would be passed on to your daughter when she got old enough to cook,
"Good afternoon, my love," the voice of Boba said as he came in through the door, "Your cooking smells wonderful."
You smiled and abandoned the cooking to embrace your husband. Boba removed his helmet as you approached; his lips making contact with yours, "How was your day?" you asked while leading him to the table. Nervousness was beginning to overtake you, but luckily, you didn't think Boba noticed.
"It was good, thank you," the bounty hunter responded while settling himself down at the table, "I had to deal with a few pesky Jawa that didn't want to leave the palace after Jabba had banished them. They won't be bothering the palace anymore after that."
You kissed his cheek; chuckling about how passionate Boba is about his work. You spun back around towards your stew without another word. This made your husband's brows rise in surprise. You always laughed at stories like that, "What's wrong?"
You jumped at those words, seriously not expecting to hear them come from Boba's mouth. You figured you were hiding your nervousness pretty well, but it turns out that isn't the case,
"What are you talking about?"
"You seem so unfocused. Normally a story like that would at least cause a smile. I know that stew isn't more interesting than me," Boba said with a small smile on his face. The smile held concern though, and you felt your heart break.
You sighed and dropped the spoon you were using to stir the stew and sat down at the table across from your husband. His smirk had disappeared at this point, and the only expression on his face was concern,
"I'm pregnant," you said matter-of-factly, "It's obviously yours. I don't know how to expect you to respond, but whatever you decide to do with this information, I will respect and accept. I want you to help me raise her, but of course, if you're worried this is more than you signed up for, that is okay too."
The smile that once slipped away from Boba's lips came back as he realized why you were being distant... why you were so nervous,
"Honey, that is amazing," he said while standing up and leaving the table to come by your side to hold you, "I couldn't ask for better news! I'm relieved— I was thinking you were terminally ill or something. Thank God you're only pregnant."
"You're taking this way better than I thought you would," you admitted while falling into his arms, "I know how much your work means to you. I was worried you'd have to stop being a bounty hunter because of our daughter and I couldn't ask you to do such a thing. I was completely betting you'd leave me because of this."
Boba scoffed while bringing his lips to yours, "I'm sad you have such little faith in my love for you. And, did you say daughter?"
"Yes!" you squealed excitedly against his lips, "We're having a little girl!"
"A little girl!" Boba said excitedly while pulling you up and out of your seat. You giggled as he clasped his hands in your and began leading you in an impromptu dance, "I never figured myself a dad! This is amazing! I wish my father was around to meet his granddaughter."
Your heart broke a little bit at that. You knew Boba hated the Jedi Order in general because of how the Jedi Master Mace Windu murdered Jango Fett many years ago. Even though the Jedi Order has been destroyed for many years now, he still hasn't forgiven them.
"I wish Jango could meet her too. I also wish I could've met Jango. I'm sure I would've loved him," you replied while leaning your head on Boba's armoured shoulder, "If he was anything like how you are, I know I would've loved him."
"He would've loved you too," your husband sighed while rubbing circles into your back with love, "If he knew what kind of woman I was going to end up with, he would've been so proud. Although I loved him, he was hard on me. I think he didn't assume I'd be able to get a woman to begin with, let alone someone like you."
You giggled again and pressed your lips to Boba's, "I'm sure that's not the case. Jango loved you and thought the world of you. He wouldn't have protected you the way he did when the Jedi attacked if that wasn't the case. I'm sure he would be very proud of you."
Boba kissed you back and sighed; accepting what you said sincerely, "I appreciate your words, my love, and I know you're right. I will make sure to make him proud by being here by your side to help you raise our baby. You will not go through this alone like how you feared."
"I don't know why I was scared to tell you to begin with," you answered honestly to your husband, "You've always been supportive and loving of anything and everything that has happened in our lives. I should've known you would love our daughter."
Boba then proceeded to help you cook the rest of dinner; the smile never leaving his lips. He began to grow gradually overprotective as the night continued. He wanted to feed you and make sure you were comfortable at all times, which caused you to roll your eyes,
"Just because I'm holding your baby doesn't change a thing. I don't want to be babied by you, okay? I'm still independent," you said in annoyance while playfully pushing away the bounty hunter's hand, which was holding your spoon to your mouth, "I'm only around 12 weeks along anyways. I feel exactly the same."
"I don't care. I'm gonna spoil you and our precious daughter," he replied.
"I almost wish you weren't supportive of the pregnancy," you joked while rolling your eyes once again, "If this continues throughout the whole pregnancy, I might go crazy."
Boba laughed and pushed a spoon in his mouth; chewing, "You better get used to it, babe. You won't be lifting a damn finger until our kid is born."
Goddamn it. You didn't know how much longer you could take this overly-supportive person your husband turned into...
