"Daddy! You're home!"
Three tiny puppies dashed towards
the tall man who had just entered
the house, their tiny golden tails
wagging in pure happiness.
"Hey babies.
Daddy missed you so much, hm?
You sweeties, why aren't you
in your beds yet?"
"Mommy is sick."
Haru, the oldest of the three pups,
pouted as her golden ears dropped.
"He's sick?
Is he in the bathroom?"
"Nu, in bedroom."
Hyunjin frowned at his child's
words and picked his youngest
pup up so he could place a soft kiss
on his only son's cheek.
The tiny boy babbled something to
himself as he chewed on his fingers,
his big eyes staring at his daddy in
wonder when his father booped
his nose with his.
"Haru, Mina, can you go wash
up please? Daddy will be there
in a second to help, then we'll
make dinner, hm?
I'll just go check on mommy
for a moment."
The little girls immediately nodded
and hopped off to the bathroom
while Hyunjin made his way
to their bedroom.
"What's with your mommy, hm?
Did you give him a headache?
No, right? You're too cute for that."
Hyunsoo giggled cutely and
snuggled his face in the crook
of his father's neck when the
ravenette smiled at him before
he carefully knocked on the door..
"Minnie? Baby, can I come in?"
"Hmm.."
When he opened the door he
was greeted with the sight of
Seungmin bundled up in their
blankets, only his fluffy golden
ears peeking out of the cocoon.
"Mama.."
"Oh, hi baby.
Hey Jinnie."
Their tiny son crawled over to his
mommy after Hyunjin had placed
him down on their bed.
"Careful, pup.
Mommy is not feeling well, okay?"
Hyunsoo pouted as he cuddled
close to Seungmin, a sigh escaping
him when his mother wrapped an
arm around him to pull him closer.
"My little prince,
you're mommy's best medicine."
And it only needed that to
make Hyunjin pout too.
"I thought I was your medicine?"
"We'll, you gave me three wonderful
children who replaced you"
Seungmin chuckled tiredly but
immediately started to pet his
husband's hair when the older
male snuggled up to his other side.
"Are you at least feeling a little
bit better now? What happened?"
"I guess my stomach was a little
upset about lunch. They kids are
doing fine though, right?"
"Mhm, they're washing up right now,
I'll make dinner in a minute?
Does bland soup sound okay
for your tummy?"
The golden retriever hybrid sighed
softly as he nuzzled his nose in his
son's soft baby hair, a smile finding
its way on his face when he felt
Hyunjin's hand on his tummy.
"I hope so, I haven't eaten
anything since lunch."
And although the ravenette wanted
to stay beside his beloved husband
and cuddle him some more, he still
left the bed when he heard his
daughter's excited giggled.
"Daddy! Hungwy!"
"I know, pup.
We'll make something yummy now,
hm? Mommy wants some soup and
I thought we could make some
fried sausages too?"
"Yes! Yes!"
The two little puppies squealed as
they hugged their daddy's legs tightly,
making Hyunjin laugh.
They stayed like this the entire time
while their father prepared their
dinner, not caring that sometimes
got a little uncomfortable when
he had to move.
Being close to their daddy was
more important to them.
And similar to his sisters,
tiny Hyunsoo stayed snuggled
close to his mommy.
It was undoubtedly adorable
how he was curled into a little
ball in Seungmin's embrace,
suckling softly on his thumb
as his mommy played with
his soft golden ears.
"My sweet little pup.
I hope it's not what I think it is.
Else you'll become a big brother
I guess."
A fourth child was never
part of their plan.
In fact Hyunjin had already
needed quite a long time to
persuade his husband to
have a third child.
Seungmin had been happy
with just their two daughters,
he had wanted to return to work
but a week after he returned
to his office, he had started
to feel sick again.
And a few months later tiny Hyunsoo
had joined their sweet little family.
"Minnie?"
Hyunjin tilted his head when his
husband didn't return from the
bathroom even after over
ten minutes.
The couple had spent the Friday
night together on the couch after
they had brought their kids to bed,
watching a movie together that
was playing on the TV but now
the commercial break was over
and Seungmin hadn't returned.
He hadn't really been doing any
better the past days so his husband
was glad it was finally the weekend
so he could take care of the
younger male.
"Baby, everything okay?"
The ravenette frowned as he
quietly made his way to their
bedroom, assuming that Seungmin
was there since the door was open
and the light was on in the room,
although dimmed.
And he was immediately alarmed
when he heard soft sniffles.
"Minnie..
.. Lovely, what's wrong?"
His heart sank when his eyes fell
on the sobbing ball at the end of
their mattress but he still hesitated
to get closer to his husband.
Seungmin should decide if he
wants physical comfort or not.
So Hyunjin sat across from the
hybrid on the ground, leaned against
the wall with his arms open.
"Jinnie.."
The puppy boy cried softly
as he practically threw himself
into his husband's embrace,
curling up in his hold and pressing
himself as close as possible.
"Baby, talk to me.
Are you in pain? Feeling sick?
Should we call an ambulance?"
"N-no.."
Seungmin looked up teary eyes
and grabbed Hyunjin's hand so
he could place something in it.
A pregnancy test.
It was positive.
"Oh.. Oh my gosh.. Minnie, we-"
But instead of finishing his sentence,
the ravenette only hugged his
husband tightly and placed a
long kiss right between his
fluffy golden ears.
"Jinnie, I'm scared…
.. Four is a lot."
"It is, my love.
But no matter what,
I'm here for you."
Hyunjin's promise was not
as true as Seungmin sometimes
wished because right now he was
sprawled out on their bed,
craving strawberries.
And his husband wasn't there
for him and his cravings, instead
he was busy tucking their
son in his bed.
The normal, not hormone controlled
Seungmin without a pregnancy brain
would appreciate it how Hyunjin
took care of almost every single
house chore but right now the
puppy hybrid wanted strawberries.
And he couldn't think
of anything else.
"Hyunjin… Jinnie~"
But there was no answer as the
brunette let his feet dangle from
the mattress, his hands drawing
mindless circles on his little
baby bump.
"Hyunjinnie!"
And the boy couldn't help but
giggle cutely when his husband
rushed to their bedroom with a
frown, fearing that something
was wrong.
"What's wrong? Everything okay?
With you and the pup?"
"No. We want strawberries."
"Oh Minnie, I thought something
was seriously wrong."
The ravenette breathed out heavily
as he walked over to his husband
and leaned over him to place a
cheeky peck on his little belly.
"So, strawberries?
Anything else?"
"Mustard please."
And Hyunjin knew his husband
well enough to not comment on it,
he had three pregnancies to practice.
"Alright, strawberries with mustard
for my pup and baby pup.
So you grow strong and healthy, hm?
Your siblings want to play with
you so your little kicks need
to get a bit stronger."
"Do they? I don't see a problem
with not having someone kick
my intestines half of the day
for the next few months."
"But Minnie.."
Hyunjin pouted as he stared
at Seungmin with puppy eyes
before he pecked the brunette's
lips gently.
"I guess I can't do anything about that.
Now strawberries please.
And snuggles, we're waiting."
Yeah, having a house filled with
five puppies was a mess sometimes
and Hyunjin barely remembered
how it was when he didn't have
to share his bed with any of
his kids but he wouldn't
trade it for anything.
They never planned on having
four kids but seeing Seungmin
munch happily on some strawberries
while his other hand stayed on his
tummy made him believe that
it could be worse.
They'd be fine, they'd always be.
