Renee could not sleep at all. The battered up face of Jake kept cropping up in her mind. She could not believe that Damien could such a thing. She was restless and decided to make herself a cup of hot chocolate. It helped her to calm down.
She went downstairs to the kitchen. She took out the milk and chocolate. She was about to open the cabinet to retrieve a cup when she heard her gran coming down the stairs and into the kitchen. "I heard you leave your room. Can't sleep? Are you ok honey?"
Gran asked lovingly. Renee couldn't keep up the facade anymore as she let out the taps of tears to flow. "Gran everythings a mess. I am scared and worried. I love Damien gran I really do. But it is just that he drives me crazy "
"Honey he is an Alpha. You know your grandpa was a beta back in the old days and he was by far the most possessive man I have ever seen. Its natural baby girl. Male wolfs are terretorial. Both of them had a leisure chat along with a cup of hot chocolate. After that both of them headed to their respective rooms. Renee always felt better and happier after having a chat with gran. She settled down in the bed and after sonetime dozed off into deep sleep.

The following morning Renee got up fresh and ready to take on a new day at school.She freshed up and wore denim shorts with a cute red short tunic top. She let her hair down and applied a little gloss. She went down the stairs and into the kitchen. She was running late so she grabbed a granola nar and headed for the door. She buckled up in her Merc and drove to school.she was glad that the bell was yet to ring as she made her way to her class. She saw Jess at her locker. She mouthed see you in class and headed for her locker. "Hey babygirl,wanna come out with me? " Aske Joshua. He was a human and a bigtime jock. Even the she wolfs were attracted to this sorry excuse of a man. "That is an invitation to get your teeth punched out of your mouth."Growled a voice behind me. I turned to see a pissed off Jake glaring daggers at Joshua. "Okay guys chill. Jake we are getting late for class." I pulled Jake by his sleeve but didn't budge. He was face to face with Joshua in mere seconds and bellowed "Keep your dirty hands away from my girl." Joshua just smirked and pushing Jake walked away.

"Oh Rey stop whining like a kid.That guy just disgusts me. I love intimidating him. And he has to learn that your off limits. Now we don't want the Alpha breathing down his neck, do we? "

She mentally chuckled at her foolishness of even thinking that Jake meant what he said. She now had a mate who though acted obdurate from time to time was her one and only. Soon the teacher entered the classroom and Renee busied herself in the world of studies.

Renee was sitting besides Jake during lunch. She was listening to Jess talk about this new movie she wanted to see. Jake was talking to one of the guy's on the football team. She suddenly felt eyes on her back. Jess also.stoped talking and lookes behind her. She turned and looked behind to see Damien standing with the school principal. He was wearing a three piece suit and looked devilishly handsome. Beside him stood Josh. Renee turned to Jess to find her blushing beet red. She was surprised to find him here. The principal was a human. So it was astonishing to find him here. The principal continued talking but his eyes were only on her. Renee looked around them to find almost all the girls drooling. She felt a pang of jealousy. She looked at Jake and found him glaring daggers at Damien. ' You look beautiful today' Damien said to her through the mind link. She blushed at his compliment. ' You clean up well, too Alpha ' She said confidently. ' She decided to leave the cafetaria. She mouthed 'I am leaving 'to Jess and got up. As soon as she got up his eyes snapped to her long legs on display. His eyes started changing colour. ' All the guys as well as I agree that you look quite delectable in those meagre shorts ' She scanned the cafetaria and found that almost all guys who were humans were staring at her. She quickly decided to make a move and headed for the exit. Unfortunately Damien was standing at the exit doors. As she was about to leave her principal stoped her.
"Oh miss Evans! This is Mr.Damien. Why don't you give him a tour as a library. Mr Damien Miss Evans is on the welcoming committee and an exceptional.students. She has great aspirations of become a doctor. " The principal said. Renee mentally groaned at this. Now Damien was going to go mad again.
"Oh how interesting. Being a doctor is great responsibility and hardwork I recon. " " Would you please follow me sir I will lead you to the library " . Renee said in a fake sweet tone. She headed out and Damien followed her.She could feel his eyes on her " Stop oogling at my aws Damien. " She sapped at him. He growled and fell into step with her. " I cannot help it if my mate is looking so sexy. I did not consider you to be the type of girl to be on the welcoming committee. " He chuckled. "Okay just tell me what are you doing here.? I am not giving you any tour of the damn library because we both know that your intentionss are not to do anything with this school."
" Hmm maybe you can let me tour your body babygirl. " Damien purred in her ear. Renee felt herself getting all hot and turned on by that tone. She entered the library and smiled at the librarian. Walking to the farthest aisle of books, she stopped and waited for Damien. He walked towards her with a cryptic look on his face. " Answer my question Damien. Why are you here?"
" I wanted to inspect the school. The principal thinks I am donating money which I am but I wanted to see if the school was safe.
There are a few things we have to discuss Renee. "
" I am still mad at you Damien. And I don't want to talk about us right now. I need time. I will cone over to the house when I am ready to talk. Please understand Damien. "
Hurt and anger flickered in Damiens.eyes. " Do you care for that boy more than me, ella??"Damien growled lowly. " What you did to hi is not right. He is one of the best fighters I know. He is important for this pack. And he is for me too. But only as a brother. You are my mate. And I love you." Renee said the last part softly.
" What would you do Ella if a girl comes upto you and says that she loved your mate? "
" I do not understand your implication. Please speak clearly. " Renee replied calmly. " That fucking boy told me he loved you. If I hadn't come here he would have marked you. He attacked me first. And do you think after what he said I was just going to let him talk crap. " Renee was shocked to know this. Jake wasn't the type of guy who would do this. And he could not possibily love her. His mate had died last year. Renee had helped him overcome his grief. She had killed herself and nobody knew the reason behid it. "Why would Jake do such a thing? Oh god this is such a mess "Renee mumbled dejectedly. " I am a patient man honey. I will be waiting for you. " Damien lightly kissed Renee on he cheek and headed out of the library.Renee had a though time coming to terms with Damiens words. This could not be happening.
Renee slowly slid down the wall and sat there, Contemplating. She decided it was best talking to Jake about it. She slowly rose from the floor and quickly headed out of the library. She decided to skip the rest of the school and head home. Tonight she would confront Jake. !
