"I don't like him"
My eyes widened as Eun-woo mumbled that a little loudly in my neck, I immediately look at him and found his smile dropped, which meant he heard it too, I never assumed that Eun-woo don't like his father, I thought he miss him but he didn't I guess... I caressed Eun-woo's back in a comforting way and spoke,
"Just say hi, love"
Eun-woo broke the hug and looked at him with an icky expression and mumbled,
"Hi, I'm Eun-woo"
He smiled at him and waved his hand saying hi to him, Eun-woo look at him with cute pouty lips, he chuckled and said,
"Hello my baby boy"
Eun-woo bowed to him and again hugged me tightly, I glimpsed at his face, the hurt was written all over but I don't feel bad for him, he deserves all this, he preferred to run away from us. I pick up Eun-woo in my embrace and stood in front of Grandma, she looked at me while I spoke,
"Where is our room?"
Grandma smiled and spoke,
"Your stuff is already arranged in Tae's room and the kid's stuff is kept in the room across yours"
What no way I won't share a room with him, sharing a roof is already a big task for me, I frowned and spoke,
"I can sleep with kids only"
Grandma scoffed and spoke,
"You have to get pregnant Y/N"
Internally I scrunched my face in disgust at the choice of her words, she's always like this, she doesn't care about anyone but herself, her reputation matters to her the most, knowing there is no other way I nodded and glanced at Yuri, she was talking surprisingly comfortably with her father. I sighed and spoke,
"I'll take Eun-woo to his room"
With that, I left for Eun-woo's new room here, since I gave birth to Eun-woo and Yuri I never stayed here even for a night, so it'll be their first time living here, I hope they get adjusted here comfortably. I put Eun-woo up on his new bed and took a seat beside him, he curiously look at me and asked,
"Mom, can I ask you something?"
"Anything, Love"
"Where was Dad earlier?"
I blankly stare at his curious face, I knew I have to answer it in the future but I didn't imagine it to be this sooner, I wasn't prepared for this, I debated internally whether to tell him the truth or lie, but to my luck, Yuri arrive there on time and cheerfully spoke,
"Mom"
While smiling I turn around to see her, but my smile dropped as I saw him there too, I don't feel comfortable around him, Yuri was holding his hand. I stood beside the edge of the bed and look over at Eun-woo, he was still looking at him with an unpleasant look, Eun-woo is too protective over me, maybe he noticed the tension between us that's why he was acting rude to him, I really don't want him to be on bad terms with his father, he deserves the love of a father.
Yuri pulled him and walked towards me making him stand in front of me, I nervously look up at him and saw him staring at me, I'm not ready yet, I need some time to think, I can't face him yet. I immediately look over at Yuri and spoke,
"I have some work, I'll be back"
I was about to leave but Eun-woo hold my hand stopping me to go anywhere, I look at him and sit beside him, I cupped his face and asked,
"What's wrong Love?"
"Mom, you promised to spend this Sunday with us"
I sighed and looked over at Yuri she was also looking at me with her puppy eyes, due to my work I rarely spend some quality time with them but on Sundays, we used to spend some time together, I exhaled heavily and was about to speak,
"But-"
"Yes, Mom now Dad is here too let's go on a picnic "
I cupped Yeri's face as she whined cutely, spending time with them means spending with him too and that would be the last thing I want to do right now, I smiled and reasoned,
"Baby your dad has some work so we can't"
Yuri immediately look at her dad and pleaded,
"Can you please skip Dad?"
"No-"
"Yes princess, anything for you"
He cut me in between, I shockingly look at him and found him smiling at Yuri, maybe a fake one. Why is he doing this? why is acting like he didn't ghost us for freaking 5 years? I want him to be gone as soon as possible. Yuri jumped excitedly and while hugging Eun-woo spoke,
"Yeah, finally we are going out"
I smiled looking at both of them excited to go out, I rarely give them the proper time and love they deserve and now seeing them happy makes me feel less sorry. Both of them hurried towards their new closet getting ready for the picnic leaving me with him all alone, there was an awkward silence, I was feeling weird seeing him agreeing to go out with us I broke the silence,
"There is no need to act like all this"
He smiled while looking at the kids busy choosing their toys and spoke,
"Yuri is an exact copy of mine"
I frowned, as he avoided my statement, what does he think of himself, I asked him,
"What's wrong with you?"
"If you want to change, go your clothes are arranged in my closet"
I huffed in annoyance as he again ignored my question, with a smile on his face, he look over the kids. I was about to check up on the kids but suddenly my phone rang, I look at the caller id and bit my lips in nervousness, it was 'Jimin', for sure he was going to scold me, he looked over me as I was not picking up the call. After taking a deep breath I picked up the call but as I put the phone near my ear I immediately pulled it away as Jimin yelled at me,
"Where the fucking hell are you Y/N?
He was shouting too loud that without putting on speaker I can hear him and him too... I nervously picked up the phone again and answered,
"I promise I'll be there tomorrow"
"Tomorrow? No, I want you here right now"
"But-"
"Y/N for god sake, just for once can you think about your health?"
I chuckled nervously and answered,
"I'm not dying tho"
"Dare to repeat those words and I'll admit you to the hospital for a week"
"Okay okay I won't repeat"
"I don't know but you have to attend today's therapy anyhow, I'll be waiting for you"
Without waiting for my answer he disconnected the call, I sighed as I don't have any other option but to visit him today. I looked around and saw his curious gaze on me, I raised my brows and asked,
"What?"
"I didn't mean to but I heard your conversation"
I rolled my eyes and mumbled
"It's none of your business"
"I know but if it is compulsory for you to go, I can handle the kids by myself"
My eyes widened a bit as he heard my words but still stayed calm, I look over the kids, especially Eun-woo, I know it won't be the best decision to leave them with him, cause Eun-woo don't like him and I don't want him to feel uncomfortable anyhow, he still needs some time. I shook my head in denial and spoke,
"No need, I promised them"
He nodded understandingly and thankfully didn't speak any further. After a few minutes, kids came in front of us fully dressed up and holding their favorite toys, I chuckled at them and spoke,
"Let's go"
As I was about to follow them behind my phone rang and Yn turned toward me, she hesitantly look at me and spoke,
"We'll wait for you downstairs"
I nodded, I have to pick up the call as Sunmi was calling, she took the kids downstairs while holding all the stuff altogether. I sighed and picked up the call,
"Hello"
"Hello son"
It was Mom, I smiled and asked,
"How are you, Mom?"
"I'm good"
"What about you?"
"I'm also great"
"Where is Sunmi?"
I asked confusingly as she called me with her phone, she chuckled and replied,
"She's sleeping soundly"
I felt relieved listening that she was doing fine, it was always her habit to sleep for the whole day after attending any event, Mom cleared her throat and spoke,
"Tae you know Sunmi loves you so much"
"I know Mom"
"So don't let that Yn come in between you both"
I sighed heavily, Mom never liked Yn in the first place, she never considered her as her daughter-in-law. She always supported Sunmi and my relationship, she loves Sunmi and always wanted me to marry her but things went wrong. She still has hope that we would get married, frankly, I also dreamt of that but Grandma would kill me for that and I can't risk that, I love her more than anyone, I sighed and spoke,
"I'll handle that myself Mom, don't worry"
"I'm just reminding you, son"
"I know Mom, I'll call you back"
"Okay bye"
"Bye"
I replied and disconnected the call, I stare into nothingness as I just realized what I am doing, I can't hurt Sunmi, I love her so much, but Eun-woo, he is my child I can't ignore his condition too, I have to do every possible thing to save him, I can't let Yn bear all of this alone, she was dragged into this cause of my family, I can't let her suffer alone. I rubbed my palms across my face as my mind become a mess, I have to talk to both of them, and the results of the test tube are yet to come out, maybe that can help us to solve the problem easier.
I shrug off the confusion and head downstairs just to find Yn, the kids, Jennie and Dad altogether doing something in the kitchen, I can hear their laughter more precisely Jennie's and Yuri's cute giggling. I smiled and entered the kitchen and the view was heart-touching, Yuri and Eun-woo were helping Dad with making sandwiches, Jen. noticed me and squealed,
"Oppa"
I smiled at her and awkwardly stood beside her, I'm still not on good terms with Dad, I have to talk to him too, I look over his left and saw Yn, she was avoiding any interaction with me. Dad cleared his throat and said to Jen.,
"Jen. come with me"
Saying that he walked out from here followed by all confused Jennie, I was too. I look back at the kids and saw Yn helping them with the stuff, I stood there silently while crossing my arms in front of me and observe that cute little family enjoying their quality time all together.
Yn carefully cut the vegetables, fruits, and bread into shapes, she handed them to the kids. They smiled widely at her and thanked her,
"Thank you, mom"
"You are the best"
She smiled shortly as guided them to arrange the sandwiches properly. Kids seem to enjoy that, after finishing everything Yn packed all the food in a lunch box and kept it in the basket kept on another counter. She walked towards the kids and put Yuri down on the floor while holding Eun-woo in her embrace, she kissed both of their foreheads and said,
"Let's go"
They both beamed happily making me chuckle, Yuri came in front of me extending her arms upwards, wanting me to hold her in my arms, I smiled and did what she want, I pull her up in my embrace. She put her little right arm across my neck, I look at Yn and found her picking up the two huge bags while holding Yn, how can she hold that must stuff altogether, I walked towards her and snatched the bags from her leaving the food one for her to carry. I can feel her glare on me but I decided to ignore it, while looking at Yuri in my arms I walk out of the kitchen towards the porch where our car was parked.
