DINNER

The moment I was done with my glamorous makeover, I slipped into the adorned knit lacy mint-blue mermaid long sleeve silhouette gown. The dress hugged my curves in all the right places, accentuating my hourglass figure and making me feel beautiful. My head-gear was wrapped by The glam makeup artist and I was adored with exquisite jewelries that was given to me as a gift by Mamaa. With matching heels and a stunning transparent big blue veil pinned on my head, I completed the look.

Meanwhile my bridesmaids looked equally stunning in their lacey green Asoebi and matching turbans, all of them were beautiful and glowing.

As we moved out of the room, Billy and Aysa were my trusty helpers in assisting for carrying up the long, flowing trail of the dress that flared out in a dramatic flare. The large layer of sheer tulle and chiffon trail danced and billowed around me as I moved, making me feel like a queen.

A lady, whose face I didn't recognize, approached me with a warm smile. Her eyes swept over my attire, and she paused, impressed. "You look stunning, Amarya. You'll have to give me your fashion designer's contact."

A smile spread across my lips as I nodded giving her a reply, "Thank you so much. I'll make sure to tag her on my Instagram posts."

Next, my friends and I made our way out of the room to join my husband and his groomsmen outside. But before doing so, the photographer and his crew took some stunning shots of us.

When we were done with the flashes, we made our way outside to which I was greeted by a lineup of sports cars, each one more impressive than the last. My heart swelled with pride as I spotted Fareed by his sleek black Audi, surrounded by his groomsmen. Fareed's face lit up with joy and excitement as he saw us approaching,

"Wow, ladies, I must say, you all look absolutely stunning!" Ameer exclaimed as he scanned the group of gorgeous women. The place erupted in a chorus of giggles and blushes from the ladies, except for Fareed who was clearly not amused.

In a fit of jealousy, Fareed shot a pointed glare at Ameer before he spoke in a commanding  voice, "I hope my wife is excluded from your compliments, because I'm the only one who has the right to say how gorgeous she looks. And let me tell you, baby, you look absolutely breathtaking tonight." He said, enveloping me in his arms and drawing me close, while my cheeks flushed at his words.

My friends wasted no time teasing us. But despite my shyness I played along, "Goodness, Fareed," I chuckled, eyeing his look playfully "Looking this good can't be easy, can it?"

And my goodness, was he looking dashing tonight! Dressed in a stunning embroidered blue getzner babbar riga, a zanna bukar cap, and his Rolex glinting on his wrist, he was the epitome of sophistication and his alluring scent was everything.

He winked,  "Let's just say I have some experience charming the ladies."

"Oh I bet you do," I replied, rolling my eyes playfully. But deep down, I knew he was right, Looking handsome truly was his thing.

Aysa's voice cut through the air as we were engrossed in our moment, "Alright lovebirds," she teased, a smile in her voice, "The reception's waiting! Don't worry, because you'll have all the time in the world together after today In shaa Allah."

We all chuckled lightly, nodding in agreement, and made our way over to the car. Fareed opened the door for me, and as I got in, he gently adjusted the trail of my dress, ensuring it was positioned perfectly before sliding into the back seat beside me

As we settled into the plush seats, his arm snaked around my waist, drawing me closer.  He leaned in, his voice a husky whisper against your ear. "Are you ready to spend the rest of your life with me?" he whispered into my ear, his warm breath sending shivers down my spine as he peppered soft kisses on my skin.

A contented sigh escaped my lips as I snuggled closer. "More than anything,"

He continued to whisper sweet nothings in my ear as I smiled and savored the moments shared between us

Khalil twisted his neck around to face us with a sly grin. His eyes darted between me Fareed and he raised an eyebrow suggestively. "Oh, I see what's going on here," he teased. "Go get a room, bro. Shamelessness."

I could feel my face turning scarlet red with embarrassment. I had been so wrapped up in the moment that I had forgotten we weren't alone in the car. Fareed reached out playfully to swat Khalil on the arm.  But Of course, he dodged easily.

"You're just jealous. Go get yourself a wife so you can experience the joy of love too," Fareed teased.

Khalil retorted with a smirk, "Nah man, love is for the weak. I'm good on my own."

"You say that now, but one day you'll be the biggest romantic fool out of all of us," he predicted.

"I hope not," He laughed shaking his head.

Their banter continued on for the rest of the car ride, filled with teasing comments. But as we arrived at the event centre, their conversation died down, and we came out of the car.

Third person's POV

First, the bridesmaids and groomsmen arranged themselves into two lines before they danced their way into the grand hall the song Commas by Ayra Starr. Next, the MC announced the arrival of the bride and groom, and the DJ quickly switched the music to "Pepe" by Boy spyce. The newlyweds made their grand entrance, and the entire room erupted in cheers and applause; Flashes from cameras filled the air.

Meenah's heart swelled with pride as she watched her husband bask in the spotlight. His friends and the MC were doing an excellent job of hyping him up, and she couldn't help but laugh at his enthusiasm. She tightened her hold around his arm, feeling overwhelmed with joy.

The hall is an exquisite venue that exudes luxury and elegance at every turn. As you enter the hall, you're immediately greeted by a grand foyer, sparkling chandeliers, and elegant furnishings and lighting.

The centerpiece of the hall is a spacious and gleaming dance floor, surrounded by tables and chairs that are upholstered in luxurious fabrics and adorned with fine china and crystal glassware.

There is a stage at one end of the hall, and is staffed with attentive and professional personnel, who are committed to ensuring that every detail is attended to, and that each guest feels pampered and cared for.

Both families spared no expense to make sure that the special day was everything the bride ever dreamed of.

The event began after the couple were settled, with the MC calling the bridesmaids and groomsmen to the dance floor for some friendly competition. The atmosphere was filled with so much joy and laughter as they continued with the other programs.

Now, it was time for the closest friends of the bride and groom to say some few words about them. The MC's voice boomed through the hall, calling Billy to share a few words about the bride, Meenah.  Without a moment's hesitation Billy rose from her seat, a smile on her lips and made her way to the podium.

"Good day ladies and gentlemen. My name is Bilkisu Saminu and I'm the bride's Bestfriend. I'm standing before you today to say some few words about my best friend. Today is a special day, not just for Ameena and Fareed, but for all of us who have been blessed to know this beautiful couple. Ameena is not just my best friend; she's my sister from another mother. We've been inseparable since our secondary school days, and I can't thank Allah enough for bringing her into my life. She's the kindest, most caring person I know, with a heart full of love and compassion. And I know most of you will testify to that, especially Rjay. I mean, have you seen the way he looks at her? It's like she's the only woman in the world." Billy teased, and laughter erupted from the crowd, punctuated by Meenah's blush and Fareed's sheepish grin.

"But let me tell you a little story about how we met. When we were in junior secondary school, we didn't get along at all. I thought she was arrogant and unapproachable, but boy, was I wrong! One day, I forgot my breakfast at home and came to school hungry. Ameena was the only person in the class who offered to share her food with me. From that day on, we became friends, and it's been an amazing journey ever since.

We've shared so many wonderful moments together, and I'm grateful for every single one of them. Ameena has always been there for me, even when I was too scared to stand up for myself. She's my rock, my confidant, and my sister. And now, she's marrying the love of her life, Rjay. I can't think of a more deserving couple.

Rjay, I want you to know that Ameena loves you more than anything in this world. You're her everything, and I know you'll be the best husband she could ever ask for. Please take care of her, cherish her, and make her happy because she deserves it more than anyone else.

As for Ameena, my dear friend, I can't even begin to express how much I'm going to miss you. It's s going to be hard not having you around all the time. But I know you're embarking on a new chapter in your life, and I couldn't be happier for you. May Allah bless your new home and grant you both a lifetime of love and happiness.

"I love you so much, Ameena, and I can't wait to see all the amazing things you'll achieve with Rjay by your side. And when you have those cute little munchkins, I'll be here to spoil them rotten. Congratulations to the newlyweds!"

The hall erupted in a thunderous applause, whistles, and cheers as Billy finished her speech.  With a final squeeze of the microphone, she made her way to Meenah's side a wide smile masking her lips.  Tears welled up in Meenah's eyes, her chest tightening with emotions. She pulled Billy into a tight embrace, whispering words of thanks that only they could hear.  In that moment— She knew that she was going to miss Billy so much!

Meenah smiled through her tears, "I'm going to miss you so much Billy," she confessed.

"Me too, Meenah," Billy squeezed back, her own voice breaking slightly.  "Same here."

A hush fell over the crowd as the MC announced the next speaker.  All eyes turned to Khalil, who sauntered towards the podium with a mischievous grin, ready to deliver his toast to the groom.

*

"Hello everyone! I am Khalil Waziri, and it's an honor to stand here as the best man at the wedding of friend and brother, Fareed Jarma. Let me start by congratulating the happy couple on their special day. You both look absolutely stunning. I wasn't really expecting to deliver a speech so I'll make this short.

"Fareed and I have been friends for as long as I can remember, and I can confidently say that I know him inside and out. But, there's someone here who knows him even better, and that's his beautiful bride, Ameena. We go way back, and I remember the times when Fareed would never even bat an eye at any girl, no matter how much she tried to impress him. I always thought that Fareed would be one of those people who would never fall in love, let alone get married, because he was always so focused on his career."

"But, then Ameena came into his life, and everything changed. I knew Fareed was a goner for love the moment he couldn't stop talking about her. He would always say things like, "I miss her, I want to see her bro," and it was so obvious that he had fallen head over heels in love with her. I must admit, at some point, I felt like kicking his ass," He paused, and let out a sigh, while the crowd laughed, "but, at the same time I couldn't help but feel happy for him, even after the not ending oppression."

"Jokes apart tho, I'm really happy for you because I know you have found the right life partner. You both bring out the best in each other and I have no doubt that you will take care of each other for a lifetime. I can't believe you've left the bachelors train, I need to find a wife and settle down too. I too like to dey play." Another crackle of laughter came through from the crowd.

"As a brother, I want to offer you both some advice for a happy marriage. Love, respect, and trust each other, because that's the foundation of any good marriage. Always communicate and be there for each other, through thick and thin.

"I want to wish you both a lifetime of love, happiness, and prosperity. May Allah bless your marriage, and may you both continue to grow in love and strength. Congratulations, once again!"

The couples were summoned to the cake table, where Aunty Fati and Fareed's Aunt joined them. As they approached the elegant cake, Fareed's hand naturally found hers, guiding it to the knife. Together, they made the first slice, sharing a smile as they exchanged the first bite.

Later, as the slow dance began, Fareed rose from the seat extending his hand to her. She accepted his hand, and they glided onto the dance floor. With each step, Billy assisted in lifting the train of Meenah's gown, ensuring that every step she took was effortless.

Finally, they reached the dance floor, where they stood facing each other. Fareed's arms encircled her waist, drawing her close to him, while her hands found their way to his broad shoulders. They began to sway slowly, side to side following the rhythm of the song "Perfect by Ed Sheeran" As the music played, thick smoke began to fill the air, and sparkling lights added to the ambiance, creating a magical atmosphere on the dance floor

In that moment, Meenah felt like they were the only two people in the room. The world seemed to disappear leaving just her and Fareed, caught up in their own little world of love and romance. His touch was electric, sending shivers down her spine.

Suddenly, he chuckled, and Meenah glanced up at him curiously. "What's funny?" she inquired, a smile playing on her lips.

"I can't help but be amazed at the reality of this moment. It feels like just yesterday when our paths first crossed and now here we are, husband and wife. Deep down, I always knew we were meant to be together," he confessed, a smile spreading across his face.

"Actually, when you first showed interest in me, I had my doubts," She confessed, with a pout.

"Doubts?" Fareed's brow furrowed slightly.

"Well, because you're a celebrity, and I'm just an ordinary girl living her life, I guess," she explained.

"Meenah," he began, "that's where you're wrong.  You're extraordinary.  Your kindness, your humor, your confidence– those are the things that captivated me. You're a gem, trust me," Fareed reassured her, gazing lovingly at her.

Meenah shrugged, a confident smile playing on her lips. "Yeah, yeah, I know."

He chuckled, a sound that sent shivers down her spine.  "My beautiful, crazy wife," he countered, then spun her around in a slow circle, and the guests watched in awe as the couple were full of happiness together.

And then in a sudden, serious moment, Fareed looked into her eyes and made her a promise. "I want to promise you something here and right now," he said, his voice low "Baby, I promise to love you forever. No matter what life throws our way, I will always be here for you, to support you, to cherish you, and to make you feel loved every single day. I will never stop loving you, and I will never stop trying to make you happy. I promise to be your rock, your shelter, and your safe haven for all eternity."

Meenah's eyes filled with tears as she listened to his words. She knew that she didn't deserve an amazing man like Fareed, but she was grateful every day for the love he showed her. Her heart was filled with so much love and emotion that she couldn't contain it. She looked up at him and whispered, "I love you so much."

Fareed pulled her close, enveloping her in his embrace. They continued dancing, lost in the warmth of each other's embrace, knowing that their love would last for all eternity.

******

The atmosphere was electric as the party continued to unfold. The couples engaged in lively games, captured some pictures with family, friends and guests, before finally they joined together on the dance floor, grooving to a range of beats. It was a night to remember, and the excitement reached fever pitch when the highly-acclaimed Nigerian Afrobeat sensation, Shallipopi, made a grand entrance; which was a special surprise that Fareed was behind.

Meenah, being a big fan couldn't contain her joy as she lost it and danced like there was no tomorrow, with her crew of friends and family right there with her. The groomsmen too, were not ones to be left out as they enthusiastically threw shapes on the dance floor with their babbar riga kept away.

Fareed, being the doting husband that he is, kept on throwing dollar bills left, right and center on his stunning bride, who was full of life and energy. She was having the time of her life as this was her special day, the day she has long waited for. It was like something out of a music video, with the lights, the music, and the pure energy of the crowd.

Everyone was caught up in the moment, laughing and dancing, creating memories that would last a lifetime. It was a magical night, and no one wanted it to end.

As the night wore on, exhaustion had already filled everyone. Some had already left, and those who remained were drained from dancing and having so much fun. As they decided to call it a night, the event was ended with a prayer before departing.

As Fareed got ready to leave he turned to Meenah with a soft gaze, and leaned in slowly, his lips brushing gently against hers. With a gentle smile on his lips, he pulled away slightly and whispered in a low, husky voice, "See you at our new house tomorrow, wifey."

Meenah stood there for a moment after he left, trying to process the warmth of his kiss. She felt as electricity coursed through her body.

Billy who was absent when it happened came and brought her bestfriend back to life, before they made their way home.
