As I made my way back to the orphanage, my mind kept on trying to process what had just taken place . One thing that I appreciated about myself was that I had detachment issues.
This was because if I had made the mistake of listening to the alpha and all of his baseless lies about wanting to be with me ,them I would have been hurt.
Absolutely hurt and crushed.
I can't lie and say that I am completely okay with how things turned out, but I knew that all of it happened for a reason
If I were to comment on what occured today I would say that I had dodged a huge bullet.
When I arrived at the orphanage, I could tell that something was wrong by the way the Omegas were at the door.
I quickened my pace . The buildings weren't on fire and nothing seemed flooded.
Meaning that for then to all be crowded at the door then something must have happened to the children

I broke into a run hoping that it was nothing that serious. I kept hoping that I could change the outcome of what just transpired
"Andrea, hurry"
One of the Omegas grabbed my hand and we broke into a small sprint.
I noticed that the direction we were headed to was the direction of the younger children's room
Dread began to creep inside me..
I didn't even have the strength or courage to ask what had happened
The thought of having been outside in a party to be exact while one of the children might have been hurt ate me up from the inside
On arrival, my heart broke
It's was little Charlie.
Two omegas sat beside him as they tried to calm him down
His little screams and groans broke my heart.
I could see the perspiration all over his face and his little white chubby face was now a bright red.
Dark veins were also all over his face
Did he eat something wrong ? Did he get bitten by something poisonous
"What's wrong with him?"
I but whispered
The Omegas that were beside Charlie just shook their heads
I knew that look
"This does happen but very rarely. Only one in a million suffer from this occurrence"
"What occurrence"
"His body is rejecting his wolf and his wolf is doing the same. As of now, he is dying in the worst way possible because of the rejection from within. His bones are breaking and rearranging themselves over and over again.
If he were a teenager , it would have been easier for one side to win but because of his young age, he will only suffer until his heart gives out.
Most of the time, whenever this happened in the past, the leader would put the child out of their misery but because of today's event , we couldn't contact the Alpha,so now the decision is all up to you.

I could feel tears pooling in my eyes and my heart hurt.
What was I supposed to do?
When I looked at Charlie he looked so exhausted and in so much pain
I bit my lip in order to hold back the sob that I almost let out
When I came to this place, my main goal was to make the children feel like children again. I wanted to give them life , and for them to grow up healthy and happy.
I wanted them to have a childhood that I never had. One filled with love and joy and happiness, but now, here I was faced with a decision that would in one way or another end up in having to take away the life of one the same children that I vowed to protect
"Leave"
I rasped out
That took the omega my surprise
"But we still need a directive from you Andrea."
"I'll take things from here. Thank you so much for all that you've done"
"But we are wolves and you're just human. What could you possibly do to he..."
"I said leave. Don't forget who is in charge Beatrice"
She held back what she wanted to say next and left.
The two omegas that were inside didn't hesitate and thus leaving me alone with little Charlie

Charlie let out a sharp exhale as he whimpered.
He curled himself into a ball before letting out a silent scream
I already knew what I was going to do.
I was going to make his last moments peaceful.
One thing that I swore not to even do was to end his life.
I know that it may have seemed inhumane, letting him continue to suffer and feel pain but one thing that I wanted to do was to let him fight.
As young as he was, I wasn't going to deny him the right to choose to fight
As I drew closer I collected myself and held his hand
This mad him open his eyes
"Drea" he whispered
"Hi little Charlie"
"Hi"
He let out a soft groan
"How you feeling?"
"Painful"
"Where does it hurt little Charlie?"
"Here ,here, here, here and here"
He pointed at his feet, then his arms then his chest, then his head and lastly his heart.
"Is it really that painful?"
He nodded and let out a sharp exhale
As much as he was in so much pain, he never cried. And that made me realize how strong he was despite his young age
I mean how many people could manage not to cry when the bones in their entire body were breaking and realigning themselves over and over again
"You know Charlie, you are a really strong boy"
"No I'm not,it hurts"he whispered as he held back a groan
Suddenly a notion hit me. What if what was happening to Charlie wasn't what Beatrice told me because in my previous pack, this is how the werewolves would behave when they wanted to shift for the first time
But Charlie was only six? But what if he was an early bloomer, then that would mean
He was about to shift but he probably didn't know how
I wanted to call back the Omegas that had just left but then something within me told me not to.
I phoned Bella and she came in less than ten minutes
When she saw Charlie,she was in shock
"I never believed when you sia dit on the phone but this...damn"
"This is no time to be shocked, what I'm I supposed to do"
"It's a good thing you called when you did , because he needs to shift now otherwise this could be bad"
"Get me some warm towels "
I didn't hesitate, I went looking for warm towels but by the time I was back, Charlie wasn't on the bed and Bella looked petrified
"What happened Bella? And where is Charlie?"
She pointed at the bed,but the only thing that was there were blankets and a lump underneath them
"You mean that he shifted"
"I need a fucking strong drink because I did not sign up for this"
And with that she left leaving me alone with 'Charlie'
"Charlie? are you okay?"
How could he possibly answer me when he had shifted
Instead a soft growl sounded
"It's okay, you can come out now"
I could see him pawing through the blankets, he was somehow stuck so I decided to assist him
When he finally got free I was shocked
Not at the fact that he had shifted into a tiny pup but at the fact that the colour of his fur coat was half icy blue and half fiery red
