The next morning Y/N woke up and looked at Wednesday's head resting on his shoulder, for once she wasn't awake before him, she looked quite peaceful to Y/N. His little angel of death. Y/N carefully climbed off the bed and got washed and dressed into his normal clothes, Wednesday had a free period, while Y/N was in a lesson with Professor Martin.
As he left, Y/N leaned in and gave Wednesday a gentle peck on the forehead before leaving.
He arrived as usual, five minutes early to class.
"Professor. Have a good night?" Y/N asked as Martin turned and looked at Y/N.
"No, Holmes, I'm sorry to say that I didn't." Martin said as Y/N looked at him.
"How come sir?" Y/N asked. There was a long silent pause as Martin smiled calmly.
"My date ditched me. Left me for another man." Martin said as Y/N nodded.
"My sympathies. If it's any consolation, I got punched in the face by my own sister after standing up for her so you're not alone in having a bad night." Y/N said as Martin smiled.
"From what I hear your night improved. An assassination plot wasn't it? However did you figure that out?" Martin asked as he sat down.
"Through various means of investigation, some more difficult than others. Still though, the idea of everyone being a potential suspect or potential victim, my favourite type of case." Y/N said as he smiled.
"Yes, well, from what I hear, Skeeter's looking for an interview."
"She can find it on the bottom of my shoe and it says two words: Piss off." Y/N said as Martin smirked. "She helped Moriarty frame my father and made him fake his own suicide."
"Yes, so I've heard." Martin said as Y/N looked at him.
"I see you're trying to quit drinking." Y/N said as Martin chuckled.
"Go on, how'd you deduce that one then Mr Holmes."
"Simple, You haven't washed your glass, everything else on the small rack there for your classroom kitchen is pristine condition, everything apart from your drinking glass. Implying you don't intend on using it, and seeing as you finished the whisky last year that implies you've given up on the drinking thanks to the whisky stains in the glass." Y/N said as he looked at the professor who smirked to himself.
"Marvellous, Mr Holmes." Martin said as Y/N smirked cockily.
"Thank you professor. What made you quit?"
"Girlfriend, the one who ditched me, asked that I stop drinking, ironic isn't it, she asks me to stop so I can enjoy more time with her by living longer, when I stop, she leaves me." Martin said as Y/N nodded.
"Tad ironic sir, if you don't mind my saying so." Y/N said as he looked him in the eyes. "So, why are you still here? Sirius Black's cleared of charges, Michael doesn't need you here to guard me."
"Well, your bother disagrees after the world cup incident he wants me here indefinitely to keep you safe." Martin said as Y/N nodded.
"Ah ha. Of course he does, he wants someone spying on me in here because he hasn't got shrunken head surveillance here."
As the rest of the students arrived, Y/N set about his work as Martin taught the class, asking Y/N questions occasionally to which Y/N provided the correct answer.
When the lesson was over, Y/N walked out of the classroom and was approached by Cedric.
"Y/N, take your egg to the prefects bathroom."
"Does it work underwater?"
"How-"
"Educated guess from your hint, still, thank you for the help. Bright idea Batman." Y/N said as Cedric smirked.
"Good work last night, with all that happened." Cedric said as Y/N nodded.
"Thank you." Y/N said as he left, heading to the Room of Requirement where he found Wednesday getting waking up, he told her what Cedric told her and they both got their swimming costumes, and their golden eggs before going to the prefects bathroom, knowing no one would be using it, right now...
