2 days have passed since the Downfall of Gerald Jadestrong who was sentenced to life in an asylum and now Harleen has allied herself with the Superhero girls, Batgirl especially as her partner, the Blackheart family & the Haunting Corps while gaining a new Symbiotic Werebeast friend/partner in the form of Havoc. And while they are one, Harleen still has a lot to learn to master her symbiote's abilities, luckily, the Blackhearts, Web Wolf and Rep-terror are teaching her, to hone her new skills.

Meanwhile, at the Blackheart mansion...
Casey Krinsky was in the kitchen, cooking up some lunch for herself, a sigh escaped her lips with a calm frown but her eyes spelled doubt & depression. She looked at the bandages wrapped around her left arm, felt the ones around her waist & her forehead from the fight she had with the undead and later Gerald Jadestrong. It hurts. It really hurts. Not as physically as much but emotionally, Casey felt like she failed in trying to save Ember and fighting against an opponent very skilled no matter how deranged Gerald was.
Casey: Just another day for me...
???: Casey? You didn't head to school?
Casey turns around to see Lucille Sr entering the kitchen.
Casey: O-Oh hello there, Ms. Blackheart. I just wasn't f-feeling it so I needed to take a day off.
Casey went back to cooking her lunch. Lucille Sr then approached the girl, looking at her handiwork.
Lucille Sr: Oh. Well I was hoping we could talk.
Casey: About what, Ms. Blackheart?
Lucille Sr: I noticed that there was a... change in your demeanor and aura. Like you're in a bad place?
Casey: (tried to reassure) N-No, it's nothing bad, really!
Lucille Sr: It's not good to keep such things in or it'll cloud your judgement. What's the matter? I don't wish to have bad blood between us.
Casey sighs.
Casey: I just... I feel so useless!
Lucille Sr: Hmm?
Casey: I'm grateful to you for welcoming me into your home after my parents basically abandoned me, I'm trying to turn my life around and do good while receiving some teachings from you but despite all that... I was easily overpowered by someone more stronger and with more experience than me and he was insane! My power is basically absorption to take others abilities & likeness, and that didn't work out, I just.. Ugh!
Casey slammed her hands on the table while breathing in frustration. Lucille Sr places a hand on her shoulder.
Lucille Sr: Casey... Don't think so badly about yourself. You're not useless like that, yes, you lost but not every battle is going to be a winner. There will be challenges ahead with opponents who are stronger, more experienced in fighting and possesses powers in surprising fashion of sorts but it's okay... Failure can be an ultimate teacher, with loses comes mistakes, which you must learn from in order to improve, adapt and grow stronger in body & mind.
Casey: Ok...
Lucille Sr: Trust in me, I learned from my mistakes and loses in battle at a young age, as do my children. And each lesson we learned, we further forge and improve on our abilities for the tasks and roads ahead of us. I do not blame you for what happened with Ember and the monster hunter, you have so much potential Casey Krinsky, so much still dormant that will rise.
She smiles at Casey.
Lucille Sr: I have most faith and confidence in you, Casey.
Casey couldn't help but smile, trying to hold back the tears.
Casey: T-Thanks, I really needed that.
Lucille Sr: Anytime you need some help or advice, I'll be there for you.
She hugs Casey like she was one of her children. Casey then returns the hug, feeling like some weight was lifted from her shoulders. She was going to get stronger and do better to bring out her potential.

At Metropolis High School...
Jessica and Hal were at their lockers having a conversation.
Hal: And that's when Sinestro tried to invade Oa with a fleet of Yellow lanterns. Luckily, yours truly and the green lantern corps stopped them. You should've been there Jess.
Jessica: I was there, Hal. And I thought you made up with Sinestro.
Hal: Oh right. And we did as bros but we're still enemies on the line of duty.
Jessica groans.
Jessica: Why am I not surprised?
Hal and Jessica noticed certain students walking around with mixed expressions, some carrying crosses and garlic?
Jessica: What seems to be going on with them?
Hal: Well there are vampires wandering around Metropolis, Jess. I didn't want to believe it myself but three members of the hamsters football team that went missing, I found only to spot pale skin, red eyes and fangs ready to bite me, I managed to hold them off as they ran. Oliver had the same thing happened to him when encountering some rival for an acting role or something.
Jessica: Oh no, these vampire attacks are getting out of control.
Hal: Yeah, everyone is looking over their shoulders, getting equipped with stuff to ward off the undead. Some think it's a prank by thugs to scare or abduct people for ransom. Heck, Chapin is thinking of having the school shut down until this thing blows over.
Jessica: Oh my.
Hal: Huh?
Hal and later Jessica spot Selina walking with Hector.
Hal: Who is that?
Jessica: Oh you haven't met him. That's Hector Wilde, he's a new student here and a friend of Marco.
Hal: One of the Blackhearts?
Jessica: Yep.
The two approached them.
Hector: Greetings Senorita Jessica.
Jessica: Greetings to you too, Senor Hector.
Hector: (to Hal) And you are?
Hal: Name's Hal Jordan. Good to meet you. I'm the star quarterback for Metropolis high school hamsters football team.
Hector: Good for you.
Selina: I take it, we're not the only ones seeing students with crosses, garlic, etc?
Jessica: Yes, everyone's on edge with this whole vampire attack. And Chapin's thinking about shutting down school until this is resolved.
Selina: I don't really have a problem with that.
Hal: Say... You look quite strong, ever thought about joining the football team?
Hector: Why thank you but I must decline. While I'm excellent with sports, football's not really my thing, not hating on the sport of course.
Hal: Oh well okay.
Selina: Well Hector, shall we head to class?
Hector: Of course.
Selina: (to Hal and Jessica) See ya later.
The two left.
Hal: Are they dating?
Jessica: Why do you ask that? They met a few days ago.
Hal: I don't know, Jess. It tends to be love at first sight. I should know.
Jessica: (raised an eyebrow with a sarcastic remark) Uh-huh. Like your relationship with Carol went?
Hal: I get it. (Sighs) Still had to give it to her straight, it was harsh but it needed to be said even though she was trying to drain me like a leech, going all spider monster carnivore.
Jessica: Yes, but still you hurt her feelings. I get she was plain creepy and clingy however, you needed to let her down gently. Blowing up at her was not the best idea. I mean, Carol has her flaws in this relationship but you're also at fault too with your mistakes.
Hal: Look, I did what I had to do! I already felt bad as it is when I told her off, out of fear and anger! I don't want her to be a spider monster forever or anything, I just want her to get the message that we are over!!
Jessica: And if she doesn't?
Hal gulps, having a thought of a spider monster Star Sapphire stalking & hunting for him.
Hal: .... Let's not think about it...

Gym class...
It was dodgeball time.
Garth was knocked down by a dodgeball getting eliminated from the game.
Garth: Ouch. I'm okay.
Marco: Sorry about that, are you alright?
Garth gets up.
Garth: It's fine. Sore but nothing's broken. Good throw though.
Garth heads to the bench along with Karen, & Diana. Only Kara was left on the team as the opposing team consist of Marco, Doris, Harleen & Babs. Kara narrowed her eyes, cracking her neck.
Babs: (grins) Sorry Kara. I love ya but you gotta go down.
Harleen: (grins) Ready to play?
Kara: Bring it.
Babs and Harleen struck first, getting the dodgeballs on their side of the field, the two would double team with great maneuver to throw dodgeballs at Kara, who smirks as she would avoid and dodge the balls launched at her, catching two dodgeballs and in an X throw, launched them which hit both Babs in the face and Harleen in the gut, eliminating them from the game.
Babs: Oof! Medic!
Harleen: Anyone get the number of the ball that hit me?
Kara: Two for one! Hoo aah! Who's next?!
Doris steps up to the plate.
Doris: Heh, You're going down Danvers!
Kara: Come on then!
Doris grabs a dodgeball and runs in to throw it at Kara, who dodges it. Doris grabs more dodgeballs on her side to throw them at Kara, who would dodge them and would grab some to throw at Doris, who managed to get out of the way of the shots. Doris grabs a nearby dodgeball and grips it with her strength to throw it like a missile towards Kara, who managed to catch it as the force of the dodgeball sends her back and nearly hit the wall, but still caught the ball and with her own feat of strength, throws the dodgeball with great force to hit Doris in the gut.
Doris: Guh!
She fell to the ground, out of the game. Only Marco was left.
Marco: Well... The grand stand off.
Kara picks up four dodgeballs.
Kara: Get ready to eat leather!
With a battle cry, Kara spun around to throw the four dodgeballs at Marco, who would dodge, grab a dodgeball and begins to throw one at Kara who would avoid it. Both teams watched as Kara and Marco were displaying feats of strength and speed in throwing dodgeballs at each other.
Diana: Go Kara, victory is surely at hand!
Harleen: Keep up those throwin' arms, Marco! Ya almost got her!
Soon, Marco and Kara each have one dodgeball, both narrowed their eyes and ran at each other to the intent to finish the game. Marco spun around to throw his dodgeball full force at Kara.
Doris: He got her!
Karen: Kara look out!
The dodgeball was coming in hot like a meteorite towards Kara, who leaped up to avoid it, slightly up in the air.
Babs: She dodged it!
Kara, gripping the dodgeball in her right arm with a powerful flex was getting ready to throw it, Marco puts his hands up in hopes to catch the ball but Kara grins, throwing the ball... downwards.
Doris: Huh?!
Garth: It's a fakeout!
Marco realized he's been played but too late.
Marco: Oh sh**.
The ball hit the ground and bounced up to hit Marco up the jaw, knocking him down.
Kara: (throwing up the rock goats) YEAH!
Diana, Garth and Karen approached Kara.
Karen: You did it!
Garth: That was awesome!
Diana: Truly, an impressive display of strategy and well timing of throwing the ball of dodge!
Babs: Dodgeball!
Diana: That too!
Doris helps Marco up.
Doris: You good?
Marco: Yeah, I'm good. Not the first time I took a fierce shot to the face.
Harleen: I'll say, like a rebound pinball but much larger! Hehehehe!
Babs: You said it!
Kara: You okay? Sorry if I smoked you too hard with that meteor ball.
Marco: It's all good Kara. I'm fine. You got a good throwing arm.
Kara: (flexes her right bicep) Well Heh, it's only a fraction of me being awesome.
Marco chuckled.
Marco: You really are awesome. I've met some strong and athletic boys and girls at my old schools but you Kara, you got the total grit and flame to back it up.
Kara couldn't help but chuckle while rubbing the back of her head with a blush forming. Babs and Harleen noticed the blush and smirk.
Kara: Hehehe... I uhh... Thanks, you weren't so bad yourself.
Marco: Thanks. Well time to hit the showers. See ya later.
Marco left.
Kara: Later...
Kara heard giggling, snapping out her trance, turning to Babs and Harleen who were grinning smugly.
Kara: What?
Harleen: Babsy Wasby... Are you seein' what I'm seein'~?
Babs: I sure do Leenie Beanie, I sure do~.
Harleen: Kara here's in L-O-V-E, Loooooooooove~!
Kara: Eh?!?!?
Diana: Kara, you share romantic interactions with another. (Smiles) Of most congratulations to my friend!
Kara: Whoa, whoa! Hold up! Love? No no no, I'm not love with anyone!
Harleen: You were blushin' when Marco complimented ya!
Kara: N-No I wasn't, it was a compliment. It meant nothing!
Karen: Kara, you're blushing red.
Kara: I'm not! It's obviously hot in here!
Babs: Nope! Marco Blackheart is your love kryptonite!
Kara: Ugh! This again, he's not my kryptonite! Kryptonite is a glowing rock that hurts & is very painful, Marco ain't kryptonite!
Babs: Tomato tamoto, Look how this happened with Diana. Love forced her into a goofy, lovely dovey trance!
Diana: I don't recall anything of the sort that would make me succumb to such a manner. I am a strong and very focused amazon-
Babs: Steve Trevor!
Diana: (looks around with sparkly, heart shaped eyes) Where?! Where?!
She saw no one.
Diana: (to Babs; outraged) You dare deceive me?!
Doris: Prince's blowout aside, you did went all gaga over Marco.
Kara: Oh come on! Are you kidding?! C'mon, who do you take me for?! Garth, back me up here!
Garth: Well Uhhh, please don't hurt me but it's the truth, you were sorta... kinda... blushing over the guy.
Kara: (angry) Agh! I'm not in love here! He just complimented me, it doesn't mean I have a full blown crush on him!
Karen: Kara, There's no need to get angry about this.
Harleen: (smiles) It's nothing to be ashamed of, just hang out with him, have a night on the town & tell him how ya feel! Cuz if ya don't, someone else will...
Kara: Never! I mean, never that I'm not asking-I mean! AAAAAAGH! Forget it, I don't like him that way, end of story! Zip the lips, get it out of your head, it's over! Kara has left the building, peace!
Kara leaves the group.
Harleen: Definitely in love.
Babs: Yep, Marco is her kryptonite.
Kara: (offscreen; Yells) He's not my kryptonite!!!

Later....
Supergirl: Now... That is... Kryptonite...
Supergirl was lying on the ground, all weakened and standing over her was the cyber robotic villain, Metallo, whom Superman & the superhero girls fought before & last time he was vanquished by Wonder woman & Supergirl but now he's back, rebuild & stronger than ever with the new plate of kryptonite via power cell in his chest.
Metallo: What's the matter, Supergirl? Feeling a little under the weather?
Supergirl: Ngh... H-How are you back...?!
Metallo grabs Supergirl by the neck, bringing her up to his level with the kryptonite shining bright, Supergirl groans from getting weaker and weaker.
Metallo: Foolish girl, if Superman couldn't permanently get rid of me, what chance do you have? I always come back regardless and this time, your friends aren't around to help you stop me.
Metallo uses his free hand to deliver punch after punch to Supergirl's face and gut, adding more pain to the weakened Kryptonian, who grunts and groans with each solid blow.
Metallo: Now what do you have to say? C'mon give me something funny.
Supergirl: You... Still hit like... a wuss...
Metallo glared at her and fired a ray of kryptonite at Supergirl at point blank range, earning a scream from her as she crashed into a couple of cars, exploding them on impact. The robotic villain approaches the downed Kryptonian with another blast of kryptonite ready.
Metallo: Wise cracking to the very end but it's over. Any last words?
???: No but I do. Fry.
Metallo was engulfed by a violet plasma blast.
Metallo: Gaaaaaahhh!!!
Then a large blur struck Metallo to send him crashing across the road. Supergirl struggles to sit up, looking up at Bold and Architect. Bold helps the kryptonian up.
Bold: Supergirl, are you okay?
Supergirl: (weak) B-Bold...?
Out of the fiery rubble, Metallo emerged, glaring at the two Symbiote Daywalkers.
Metallo: Who are you two supposed to be?
Architect: A resilient cybernetic individual with superb strength and speed. Quite the material you possess, Metallo, correct?
Metallo: Who wants to know? No matter, I don't know or care who you are. Meddling in my affairs results in your death.
As Metallo was approaching, Supergirl groans in pain.
Bold: Save your strength, we'll deal with him.
Bold places her down gently and turns to Metallo with a sharp glare, charging at the robotic villain, both rearing their fists back to punch each other, sending a large wave through the area. The two went at it with a barrage of punches to each other, Metallo and Bold in a fury of full on chain brawl. Architect was tending to Supergirl.
Architect: Life force at a low rate, body temperature dropping. Your weakness.
Supergirl: Ahh... Kryptonite... in... Chest...
Architect turns to his brother going head to head with Metallo, spotting his kryptonite heart in the center.
Architect: Power source yet weakness for kryptonians & sadly for him... an obvious choice to place such a weapon, unprotected...
Metallo blasts Bold back with green lasers from his eyes with the Bruiser symbiote/vampire hybrid landing near Architect and Supergirl.
Metallo: That all you got?
Bold: Oh I haven't even gotten started yet, you robo scrap heap.
Bold was about to attack Metallo again but Architect stops him.
Architect: No brother. I'll handle this.
Bold: You're be alright?
Architect: Do not worry, even the most remarkable and well advanced cybernetic individuals have their flaws.
Metallo: Me? With flaws? Don't make me laugh!
Metallo fires green energy blasts at Architect, who countered with his own plasma blasts as a wave of green and violet fires broke out in explosions, Bold managed to armor up and expand his body to shield Supergirl and random civilians from the crossfire. Metallo stops and meets up to trade blows with Architect, who returns with his own feats of martial arts like combo attacks, the two were merely in a stalemate of chain attacks until Architect leaps up to dodge an incoming punch from Metallo, who raised his hand to fire a green energy shot to Architect. The Symbiotic Vampire prodigy managed to get out of the way of it and got behind Metallo, trapping his arms behind his back.
Metallo: Rrrggh! You think you can hold me? I fought and beaten people bigger than you!
Architect: Well you are quite built to face some strong individuals yet you reek of arrogance. Regardless of how well you are built, there's nearly nothing I can't interact with.
Metallo attempts to get out of Architect but felt something interfering with his systems and movement, looking down to see Architect's tendrils engulfing his body until his entire robotic visage had Architect's color scheme with violet sparks shooting out of his body.
Metallo: Agh! Rrrggh! What are you doing?! Stop messing with my systems!
Architect: Game over.
Metallo then let out a distorted yell, feeling a breach struck to the chest, seeing Bold with an armored fist on her chest, pulling out the kryptonite out of the compactor. Metallo felt his systems unresponsive as Architect released him, the robotic villain falling to the ground, paralyzed.
Bold: Got the job done.
He crushed the kryptonite to powder in his hand.
Metallo was grunting and trying to move but couldn't. Supergirl slowly got to her feet, still wobbly but managed to stand.
Supergirl: Ugh, man I hate kryptonite. (To Bold and Architect) Thanks for the save.
Bold: It was nothing.
Architect looks in Metallo's empty chest compactor, seeing an L logo inside.
Architect: L? An insignia for your employer? Who is it?
Metallo: Go... To... H-
Supergirl walks towards the robotic villain, spotting the logo.
Supergirl: Lex Freaking Luthor, Grrrr...
Architect: The young billionaire & owner of Lexcorp, I've seen him on the news.
Supergirl: Yeah, typical bald billionaire and inventor with a friendly face complex but he's really a megalomaniac bent on ruling the earth.
Architect: Typical type of billionaire philanthropist villains these days.
Supergirl: Yeah.
Supergirl, feeling her strength coming back, picks up Metallo.
Supergirl: Let's see if Lex can fix you again when you're floating in space!!
She punched Metallo so hard, he was launched into the sky.
Metallo: AAAAGGGHHH!!!!
He then vanished from view followed by a faint glint of light.
Architect: Well I'm going now.
Supergirl: Where are you going?
Architect: I'm trying to work on a cure.
He vanished. Supergirl turns to Bold.
Bold: He's been working nearly non-stop on a cure for that Star Sapphire girl.
Supergirl: Seriously? Still?
Bold: Yep.
Supergirl: Why is he still trying to help her? She's a villain after all.
Bold: Better question. Would you wish such a worse fate on your worst enemy?
Supergirl: ....
Bold: Yeah. Despite everything Star Sapphire has done as a villain, she had humanity & came to my brother for help after her part in releasing the blood spiders. He would've ignored her but didn't because again, despite everything Star has done, she had humanity unlike other villains we've put down before.
Supergirl: And he's trying to fix her.
Bold: Yes. Jessica told me what happened and everything about Carol. While Star was the one who caused her mutation by snooping through & breaking the blood spiders loose, my brother sees the blood spiders as his responsibility & it would be wrong to leave Star Sapphire to a fate worse than death.
Supergirl: Oh.
Bold: While we hunt & kill villains, when necessary, but there are some who do need redemption, a turn around in their lives, help. That's Star too. My brother once failed to save someone from a similar fate, I don't know if it's that reason or something different in his mind but he wants to help her & won't stop until he saves her.
Bold takes his leaves, Supergirl was by herself to ponder his words before leaving too.

4 days later...
Deep within the subway tunnels...
In a hidden area of the tunnels, a huge spot covered in webs, a dozen cocoons with various people struggling in them. In the center, there lays a giant cocoon with the dormant Star Sapphire/She-Spider inside. Weeks have gone since the mutation of the fallen violet lantern who has been going around breaking into random stores, causing destruction & abducting people to ensnare them in her web. 2 days ago, she was caught by Gerald Jadestrong and later freed during a fight with Havoc Harley and the deranged monster hunter, she nearly tried to attack Harley but Star managed to remember her and the gang, a small fraction of her human mind telling her to escape, not before hearing Harley state that she promised her to get help. One night after getting her victims ensnared in webbing and it looked like she was going to eat them all but Star Sapphire/She-Spider felt sluggish and sleepy, she started to wrap herself up in a cocoon where she went into slumber for 4 days.
Entering the 5th day, the giant cocoon begins to faintly & later immensely glow a violet red, shaking rather violently until the top of the cocoon was ripped open as Star Sapphire crawled out, further expanding the hole of the cocoon to completely get out of there, hitting the floor breathing heavily.
But by surprise, Star Sapphire was no longer a monster & was human again. The glow fades, her violet lantern attire turns back to her normal attire expect it was slightly tattered and ripped.
Carol: huff... huff... What-What happened...?
Carol slowly got to her feet, looking around, seeing tunnels of the subway, then the numerous cocoons and finally at her hands. I couldn't believe it, she was human again?!
Carol: I'm... I'm me again?!
She heard muffling sounds, seeing the cocoons shaking followed by muffled yelling & screaming. People? Here? She thought? Carol was secretly about to make a scissor construct but her ring wouldn't work, she tried again but still nothing. She groans, looking around and find a sharp metal rod and grabs it, going over to each cocoon to use the sharp part of the metal rod to get each person out of there.
Male civilian: Oh thank god, you saved us!
Female civilian: I-Is that spider monster still around?!
Carol started to remember what happened and played like she was also a victim.
Carol: (lies) Uhhh no, I was about to be brought here too but I used this metal rod to jab the monster in the eye. It ran off.
Fat man: Oh that's great. I thought we were gonna be it's big meal!
Carol: M-Meal? (Gulps) Did that thing eat anyone else?
Old Man: Not yet. When I was caught, I saw through a small hole that spider monster in a princess outfit, carrying others and ensnaring them in webs.
Mother: There's no bones and we heard no munching so I'm gonna say no.
Fat man: Maybe it wanted a big feast so the monster kidnapped a lot of people to complete the perfect, massive meal.
Everyone looks at him awkwardly.
Fat man: Well no one's bones is in a pile here, right?!
Everyone saw the fat man's point, Carol sighed in relief that she didn't feast on anyone in that monster form. How she's normal again, the violet lantern doesn't know but was glad to be out of that nightmare.
Business man: Well who cares?! Let's go before that monster comes back!
Everyone agreed as they all left the tunnel, Carol following shortly after. A long walk later, the civilians found the way out of the subway, nearby the cops noticed them as the missing civilians from the spider monster attacks and went to them to report they have been found. Carol secretly snuck away from the crowd & went straight home, a spare key under the mat & she went inside.
She noticed that her parents weren't home, meaning they must be at work. Carol goes upstairs and was about to freshen up only to scream.
Carol: AAAAAAAAAH!!!
Carol was staring at her reflection in the full length mirror, eyes widened with a shocked expression. While Carol has return to her normal form... There was some differences in her appearance; She has slight sharp fangs like a vampire & her body suddenly gained some ample athleticism & her curves seem to have gotten bigger.
Carol usually is aware of her perfect figure due to taking care of herself, especially in cheerleading and gymnastics but now she looks like a pure feminine specimen in beauty and athleticism. Like she was ons par with Zee in curves & with Kara & Doris in muscle but she wasn't as big as the two powerhouses, she sighed in relief on that one, she didn't want to look like a bodybuilder.
(A/N: Carol's sudden body transformation is inspired by Peter Parker's athletic transformation after the radioactive spider bite in the 2002 Spider-Man movie.)
But the fangs & her skin complexion was a different story. She'll worry about it later, getting in the shower. Moments later, after she freshened up & dried off, Carol was now wearing a pink & white sports bra & black yoga pants that hugged her new ample curvaceous/athletic physique, she couldn't help but pose in the mirror.
Carol: (giggles) This is so sudden but I'm even more hot than I was before. (Confused) Although I don't get why these fangs & my skin looks flawlessly pale a bit.
Then suddenly, a tingling sensation went off through Carol's head, making her look around the room, she saw nothing was here. However, that tingling sensation kept blaring up, like a warning for something.
Carol: What is that feeling?
Carol looks around, confused and getting annoyed. Then she looks up, leaps up the ceiling and caught something, in her hand was a mosquito. The violet lantern later realize that it was crushed in her hand and wipes it off.
Carol: Ewewewew! Gross!!! Huh?
Carol finds her room upside down but soon realized it was the other way around, finding herself on the ceiling.
Carol: How'd I get up here?! Ngh! Oh come on, I'm stuck?!
She tried getting down but no matter how much she tried, it was like she was stuck to the ceiling like glue. Carol grunts and tried one last time, finally getting loose but falls off the ceiling and landing on her bed.
Carol: Oof! This better not be one of Harleen's pranks or I'm gonna-
That strange ringing in her head appeared again. This was really getting on her nerves, looking over the open window to see two birds flying in, fighting over a worm of some sort and Carol finds herself in the middle of it.
Carol: Hey! Hey! This ain't a worm fight fest, get out!
Grabbing a pillow, she throws it at the two birds, who dodged it, dropping the worm and glared at Carol, ready to peck at her head.
Carol: Owowowow! Shoo! Get AWAY!
Carol waves her hands to get the two bird away from her when something happened... from her wrists, violet streams of webs shot out and hit the two birds, right out of the window and hitting a nearby parked car across the street, both stuck. Carol's eyes was big as dinner plates, looking at the birds ensnared in webs outside and at her own shaking hands.
Carol: (in her mind; freaking out) Oh no, oh no, oh no, oh no! I'm still mutated! What if this is temporary? Am I gonna turn into a spider monster every night, like werewolf rules now?! This is terrible, it's like I woke up out of a nightmare and going straight into a new one!
Carol then slapped herself!
Carol: Get it together! Freaking out won't solve this, just gotta think.
Carol did just that for a moment before something came to mind.
Carol: Oh yeah! Nick, he was working on a cure for me before I became that... thing. Maybe he's still working on it! He wouldn't just leave me all monster-fied, I'm heading to his house right now!
Carol uses her ring but only a few sparks came out, not working.
Carol: Are you kidding me?! I know the battery was charged so how is it not...
Carol realizes the problem.
Carol: Oh... Right. Powered by love &... I w-was told off by Hal...
She heard the whole message from Hal replay over & over her head, especially the word "unlovable." She shook her head, not wanting to burst into tears, she needed to get the blackheart mansion. Carol heads out and takes her leave.

At the Blackheart mansion...
After school, the Blackhearts had their plans. Lucille Jr was joining Jessica in helping out Lois with getting some shots for her newspapers. Aaron was at Leslie's to do more work with the punk prankster with Lizzy Willis watching them like a hawk as the two were still on punishment. Marco was heading to the community gym but was approached by Kara, who was trying to put it into words without stuttering, wanting to hang out for the day, trying to not make it sound like a date, Marco was more than welcome to hang out with the punk kryptonian.
Lucille Sr was in the underground lair training Casey and Ember while Francine was honing her new vampiric attributes. And Nick was up in his room, working on the cure for Star Sapphire's condition. After weeks of delays & failures, he was getting close to completing it.
Over his shoulder appeared the Architect Symbiote.
Architect: Apologies to saying this but you need to stop.
Nick ignored him and kept on working.
Architect: I understand your resolve to help someone in this kind of predicament but overworking and overwhelming yourself won't do any good, even a prodigy has his limits.
Nick: I appreciate your concern but I'm nearly close to completing the cure after so many setbacks that I've run out of materials & her blood. I can't stop now.
Architect: .... I asked why you're so fixated on saving a villain like Star Sapphire but, we are one and I can read your thoughts, confliction, acts of responsibility, guilt, worry, compassion.
Nick: ...
Architect: You're doing this revolves around two answers; 1. You're doing this to succeed where you failed to save someone with a similar condition in the past. And 2. You truly care for this girl despite everything she said about your family & mother's love life & her snooping through your studies to cause her mutation, she apologized & it was a sincere one, not just a desperate cry for help.
Nick narrows his eyes.
Architect: Are you trying to save Carol because you don't want to fail again to save someone from a fate worse than death or did you suddenly grew affectionate emotions towards her?
Nick: Don't. Play games with me, Architect.
Architect: I wasn't born for games, I know the truth in your mind as well as your heart, at war with such conflicted emotions. But you need to just say it.
Nick took a deep breath.
Nick: To answer your question... I don't know. I admit though even with everything Carol is & what she's done from what Jessica told me, normal and a villain... She's beautiful, smart I'll give her that since she did half our project and (sighs) she needed to hear the truth about her love life to move on but she didn't deserve to get her heart broken twice in a cowardly manner...
Architect: And...?
Nick: Then it was a harsh truth, face to face with the one who hurt her & the one she stalks, he finally told her off but in her monstrous, vulnerable state, it broke her. To this relationship issue, both parties are guilty on each side but the least I can say is, when I find her & cure her, I hope she finds the one who deserves her love.
Architect: Are you-
Nick: Let's not get crazy. I hope she'll find someone who deserves her love, I didn't volunteer even if they're some feelings... maybe there are some feelings. But I'm no matchmaker or candidate, Besides, she can do better than me, I'm what she calls a techno geek freak.
Architect: Yet you don't look ugly or dress out of the weird caliber.
Nick: Let's just drop it, I'm close to completing the cure & for what it's worth, I plan to apologize for my end of her bad situation.
Carol: (from behind) Apology accepted.
Nick jumped off his seat as Architect covers half of his left body to fire a violet plasma blast only to stop with eyes widening. Before him appeared Carol but she was normal, kinda with altered body features while hanging upside down from a violet string of web. New questions flooded Nick's mind, how is Carol human again? Or what she is besides human? And how did she manage to get in here without his senses detecting her?
Nick: .... How much do you hear...?
Carol: (lands on her feet, stands up) About everything. You will not believe what I had to go through to get here with these powers.
Nick: ....How? How are you human again?
Carol: I don't know, I woke up out of a cocoon and suddenly, I was me again. Long story, got some people out of the subway & went straight home, I noticed that my body has changed kinda, this crazy tingling sensation in my head, these webs!
Carol grabs him.
Carol: I don't know if this is temporary before I turn back into that thing again! (Pleads) I don't wanna become that monster again, do you still have the cure made? Can you please help me?!
Nick: Calm down, The cure is nearly complete, a few minutes for it to stabilize. But I may need to check your DNA and analyze it to be sure.
Carol didn't waste time arguing with him, complying. Getting his portable lab ready, Nick has Carol lay down on the table while taking a sample of her blood. A table sized glowing device from above started to scan Carol's body, transferring data to Nick's super computer, the smart Blackheart jolting down notes, typing & cracking codes, looking into Carol's mutated blood cells to analyze & study it.
Carol has seen Nick going back & forth, working, from looking into his microscope to writing equations to typing more on super computer to drinking a blood pack & so on. After a few moments, Nick finally got the conclusion & results of Carol's test.
Nick: Well this is rather something.
Carol sat up from the table.
Carol: What? What'd you find out?
Nick: It's quite a shocking discovery... Carol, after the results of your body scan & the molecular structure of your blood test, your DNA is stabled yet altered.
Carol: Stabled, that's good right? But altered, why?
Nick: I thought for certain that mutation was the only transformation in the unstable results of your blood but after analyzing your current blood now, your molecular structure has stabilized itself & mixed in a new take of evolution.
Carol: So I molted that spider form? Like some kind of caterpillar into a butterfly hypothesis?
Nick: In a way yes, so you don't have worry about becoming a She-Spider monster again. You have evolved into a perfect Daywalker vampire/spider cross species.
Carol: Eeh?!?!!
Carol fainted.
Architect: Well... That escalated quickly.
Nick sighs and grabs a glass of water, splashing it on Carol's face, waking her up.
Carol: *Cough!* *Cough!* *Cough!* What the?! Who the?!
Nick: Apologies, you just fainted from what I just explained.
Carol: So I'm a human spider, vampire combo platter?!
Nick: Well... Yeah. The blood spiders were genetically modified arachnids infused Daywalker vampire DNA in further study & testing unfortunately it wasn't meant to go out like this until... you know...
Carol: Oh, that explains the fangs and skin complexion.
Nick: Yeah. But I'll fix that.
Carol: Nick.
Nick: The cure should be ready in a few minutes, it can undo what has happened to you.
Carol: Nick!
Nick: Just need to allow the anti-toxins to run it's course and place it within the centrifuge for just-
Carol: NICK!!
Nick: Huh?
Carol: If you're done with the whole science hypothesis, conclusions & analysis mumbo jumbo, can I speak to you please?
Nick: Alright.
Carol takes a deep breath.
Carol: Look, I said it before but I really want to say I'm sorry for insulting you, your family & your mother's love life. If I knew the truth of what you said, I wouldn't have said it... I wish I can take it all back. I'm also sorry for snooping through your stuff & you, Jessica & Hal... were all right.
Nick: .....
Carol: I was a delusional, bratty and creepy stalker. When Hal broke up me twice over a text & on Valentine's Day, I-I was fooling myself, thinking he still loves me & was either confused or that I accused Jessica of stealing him from me...
Carol had tears falling.
Carol: Jessica, Hal, you and everyone tried to tell me but I wouldn't listen... I only wanted Hal to love me as I did him, but he cares more about his looks, sports & his bros than me, I even tried to have him read Pride & Prejudice but he asked if it was a picture book. I know the stuff I did wasn't okay either, it proves it, it screams it when Hal finally snapped at me... I'm just unlovable...
Nick: Carol. It ain't the end of the world, If Hal doesn't love you then don't waste time chasing after him or drown yourself in despair. I'm not good with advice like this but you need to take a genuine approach and maybe the right guy will be there for you, only then you'll have a healthy & genuine relationship.
Carol wipes her tears, feeling some confidence.
Carol: You're right. I shouldn't waste my time on Hal. If he doesn't love me then I need move on to find someone who returns & is worthy of my love!
Nick: That's the spirit.
Carol then had a big, fanged yet genuine smile.
Carol: Like you!
Nick: Yeah- (shocked) Wait What?!
He was hugged by Carol, spinning him around in said hug. If Nick was a normal person, he would've been squeezed to death by Carol's new strength. Carol finally released him from the bear hug.
Nick: Me? But why me? I'm not a candidate for love and affection. Plus, am I opposite of what you're looking for in a guy?
Carol: (smiles) Oh nonsense. I can see the beauty behind the geek, though you are smart, you don't look ugly or dress all nerdy. Plus, you could've left me as a mindless spider monster but you didn't! You spent days & nights trying find a cure for me, it shows how much you cared for me! That you feel the same way I feel about you.
Nick: W-Wait a minute! When have I ever said that?!
Carol: (frowns with a monotone expression) You did realize that I came by when you and Architect were talking, right?
Architect: She's got us there master.
Nick groans.
Nick: I said if they're some feelings.
Carol: Plus, you complimented me & hope I can find someone worthy of my love, so I. Choose. You.
Nick: ....
Carol: But... If you don't feel the same way, I'll leave right now. I won't force you.
Nick was pondering a lot in his head right now, his mind trying to find an answer for what's going on.
Architect: Your mind is pondering a lot of questions & answer but what does your heart say?
Nick: When did you become a matchmaker,?
Architect: I wasn't born to match make.
Nick sighs, still pondering and puzzled. Someone is offering to be a romantic partner? Some people would say yes to either boost, neglect or take advantage of the girl but not all are like that. Nick isn't that kind of person, while he didn't have a girlfriend before, maybe it wouldn't hurt to start a relationship.
Nick looks up at Carol.
Nick: I suppose I'd be lying if I said some feelings haven't surfaced. And perhaps it wouldn't hurt to start a genuine romantic partnership, Carol... I accept you and your feelings.
Carol squealed happily, grabbing Nick & gives him a big smooch. The smart Blackheart was caught off guard by this but returns the kiss. Carol's ring begins to glow, gaining her power back. They broke up the kiss to stare at each.
Nick: That was... Wow. And that was my first kiss.
Carol: (giggles) Why thank you. And you're not bad of a kisser.
Ding!
Nick: The cure is done. Now you can become human again.
Nick was going to go get it but Carol wouldn't let go of his hand, the Blackheart prodigy turning to the violet lantern.
Nick: What's wrong?
Carol: I... I know you worked hard on that cure but that was for the Spider monster mutation but since I'm not a monster anymore, I think I'll keep the additional powers.
Nick: Are you sure...? You're a cross species between a Daywalker vampire & what Spider-Man basically is, plus, the thirst for blood will overwhelm you.
Carol: And you & your family managed to teach Doris to control her new powers. (Smiles lovingly) Maybe you can teach me a thing or two~.
Nick blushes a bit before clearing his throat.
Nick: Ahem. Well if that's what you want, I won't force you.
Carol wraps her arms around Nick's neck in a comforting manner.
Carol: Great, I wouldn't mind being a vampire. Once had a fantasy of myself and Hal being vampire royalty but that's passed, I found my true vampire king right here~.
Nick chuckles.
Nick: That's not go that far.
???: Oh my.
Nick & Carol turn to see Lucille Sr by the door.
Nick: Uhhh mother?
Carol: Eh?! (in her mind) Goodness, I saw her picture but in person, I didn't think Nick's mom was well built in body & beauty! Like a Goth Goddess! What's her secret?!
Lucille Sr: I heard some ruckus & went to check on you, my son. I take it this is Carol?
Carol: Y-Yes. I'm Carol Ferris, M-Ma'am!
Lucille Sr: No need to fear. I quite shocked you claimed my son's first kiss.
Carol was stuttering, thinking the Blackheart matriarch might not approve of her with Nick. She was about to speak but Lucille Sr raised a palm to silence her.
Lucille Sr: My son has spent weeks trying to find a cure for your condition, it was no surprise to me some feelings surfaced and while it's quite a miracle you're human again with a new take on our affliction... I'd say it's truly a unexpected yet glorious interaction.
Carol: Ms. Blackheart-
Lucille Sr: (polite smile) Please Carol, call me Mom in law.
Nick and Carol's eyes widened with blushes.
Nick: (shocked & stern) Mother!
Lucille Sr: (laughs) Ohhohohohoho, oh my, it was just a little humor. But seriously, I improve of your starting relationship. Learn to take care of one another to make each other happy & forge that bond into a strong, lovely one.
Carol smiles wide with a squeal while Nick has a small smile. Fright appears out of Lucille's shoulder.
Carol: Whoa!
Fright: And you said you weren't getting together with her, and it wasn't a future prediction. Anything can happen.
Nick sighs as Carol's stomach rumbles.
Carol: (smiles sheepishly) Sorry, I'm feeling hungry.
Lucille Sr: No worries. We're cooking right now so how about a feast for the lovely starting couple?
Carol: Oooo, I'd love to!
Nick: Sure.

Meanwhile, Marco and Kara were having a spectacular, fun day. A huge montage going on with the punk kryptonian and the active blackheart spending the day with each other. First, the two were in an arm wrestling match both flexing said arms in strength, trying to dominate the other, both eyes ablaze with fire. It was about 10 matches with Kara being the victor at the final, beating Marco's win points.
Then the two were having a race from the sign that says welcome to Metropolis and the finishing point was Sweet Justice, no powers. The two got started and ran the fastest they could, avoiding & even blowing through obstacles to keep up, around each corner, various turns & straight down the middle, Marco managed to win the race to Sweet Justice.
Marco would treat Kara to some all you can eat buffet with the feast being on him, much to the kryptonian's excitement. The two would eat like a pack of wolves, Kara enjoyed the large burgers while Marco loved barbecue ribs while dessert came, the Bold Symbiote enjoys the rare combination mostly involving chocolate.
Then at the community gym, Marco and Kara were working out from lifting weights to sparring to practicing wrestling & grappling moves. Kara was more impressed with Marco's strength and physique, nearly mesmerized by his well toned muscles. Speaking of whom, Marco is thinking the same thing about Kara, impressed with her feats of strength and how well she takes care of herself. Like Kara oogling him, Marco couldn't help but secretly glance at the kryptonian's body too, both beautiful & muscular too. But both of them didn't get caught & try to hide their blush while they finish their workout.
Later, the two were taking a walk only to be confronted by a group of punks who wanted money or they'll be trouble. Marco wasn't giving up anything & Kara warned them to get lost or they'll get hurt badly. The punks laughed and taunts what will they do, especially Kara in making a comment that girls were weak. Marco growled at that comment, while he hated people who were mighty & arrogant, he especially hates those who would say something stupid like girls aren't as strong as guys. He wanted to hurt those punks for that but seeing the fury in Kara's eyes, she was insulted by that comment, Marco decided to let her deal out the punishment for the punk group's ignorance. The punks attacked, thinking it will be a piece of cake to beat Kara... WRONG! Without using her powers, Kara would slowly & painfully beat the living tar out of the punks, who begged for mercy which they did not receive, getting maximum bruises, injuries and broken bones when Kara was through with them, coloring Marco impressed.
And now, Kara has brought Marco to the Lazarus Pit for a grand performance. However, the band playing today had to cancel due to one female guitarist getting into an accident where her left & arm got broken & another male guitarist got horribly sick. The fans, especially Kara was bummed out but an idea popped into Marco's head, maybe the concert can go on. Marco heads up on stage followed by Kara wondering what's he doing? He offered the leader of the band he & Kara can help them perform as replacement for the two, much to the kryptonian's shock. The band leader was skeptical at first, stating can they even play a guitar? Marco gets a base guitar & begins to shred it much to Kara & the band leader's shock & astonishment. Kara grabs another guitar & plays it as well, seeing the band leader's expression as a good one, gaining approve.
So the concert went on as the band rocked out loud to the extreme with Marco & Kara working the guitars alongside the leader vocalist and the drummer. Marco was having a great time & Kara was really feeling the flow, absolutely energetic & wild in shredding on stage. She always enjoyed an awesome rock concert at the Lazarus Pit but she never thought she'd be playing in the concert, the crowd was cheering for the band, for Marco, for her. It was the most amazing thrill ride of her life!
Later...
It was night as Marco and Kara were walking, the kryptonian carrying a guitar case with a special autographed guitar in it after she & marco killed it at the Lazarus Pit.
Kara: (excited) That was awesome!! The crowd was on the edge of their seats for us, the mosh pit was like a swirling ocean when I stage dived off in it!
Marco: Heh, that was a spectacular concert. And you got an autographed guitar for the hard rocking work.
Kara: (smiles) I know right?! And I owe it all to you! Who knew you can shred like that!
Marco: (smiles) Thanks, I had practice. And the show needed to go on, so I acted. Plus, you weren't bad either! You are like a Goddess of Rock n' Roll!
Kara couldn't help but blush again, playfully punches Marco's right arm.
Kara: Well, hehe, thanks. I uh always been a fan of rock & metal. Hope to be the main event in the Rockstar life someday.
Marco: Well I'm rootin' for you when you get there.
Soon, they were at Kara's house.
Kara: Guess this is my stop, thanks for the hang out. I had an amazing time.
Marco: Same here. Let's do it again sometime, see ya later Kara.
Marco turns to walk away while Kara was heading up the porch steps but stopped, seeing Marco's retreating form. Deciding to act, she placed the guitar case down & runs after him.
Kara: Marco! Wait a minute!
Marco turns around.
Marco: Huh? Kara, you need something-
He was cut off guard when Kara caught up with him, giving him a kiss on the cheek. The athletic blackheart's face was beet red.
Kara: There's my extra thanks... (Grins) See ya!
Kara as a blur, ran back to her house, grabbed the guitar case and went inside, closing the door. Marco was standing there with the same shocked look, feeling the left cheek where Kara kissed him.
Marco: What. Just. Happened?
Bold: I believe it's what humans call a kiss, as means of affection.
Marco: Wow. She... She likes me? That way?
Bold: Probably, I noticed how you looked at her and how she looked at you. Tch, yet none of you made a move.
Marco without a word runs off, heads to an alleyway, climbs up to the tallest building on the roof, stands there for a silent moment and...
Marco: WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!

The next day...
Babs & Harleen were walking in the halls, meeting up with Jessica & Hal.
Babs: Hey Jess, hey Hal..
Harleen: How's it hangin'?
Jessica: Oh everything is good, been helping Lois with requirements for the next issue in the school paper.
Hal: I'm doing fine, saved a couple of people from some undead creeps the other day & had doughnuts with the bros.
Babs: I see people has been very scared of these vampires terrorizing Metropolis.
Harleen: Ya can say that again, we might be hearin' Chapin's final decision very soon on whether or not he'll shut down school until the blood terror is over. Though I don't mind it, no math test for me, hahahahaha!
Jessica: Harleen please. Skipping school is a wrong choice to do. I'm sure we can keep the peace so Chapin won't make such a decision.
Babs: Though I agree with you Jess but Chapin might not, students here are in paranoia or vigilant mode, not to get their necks bitten!
Harleen: And Their blood sucked to get all "fangy" or "batty", hahaha!
Hal: They do have a point Jess.
Jessica groans until something caught her eyes.
Jessica: (gasps) Carol...?!
Hal: Where?!
Hal went in a locker.
Hal: You never saw me!
He closes it. Babs and Harleen look to where Jessica's sight was at and gasp too. Walking in the hall was Carol herself much to the surprise of Jessica, Babs and Harleen that not only she was normal again but changed kinda in her physique. Instead of her pink cheerleader outfit, Carol was wearing a sleeveless white crop shirt, a custom pink & white trim jacket with the sleeves rolled up, stretchy black pants & white & pink sneakers.
She was walking by with a charming smile as students around were eyeing her new look, guys oogling her & girls was envious.
Babs: Carol? Normal again...?!
Harleen: Sapphy?!
Carol walks by them.
Carol: Hey Jessica, Hey Babs, Hey Harleen, Hey Hal Jordan.
She walks pass them, leaving the three girls shocked. Opening the locker door, Hal brings his head out to see Carol.
Hal: Whoa, she's normal again and wow... She's waaaaaaaay more gorgeous now?!
Babs: Did Nick finally cure her?
Harleen: Probably? Look over there!
The four saw Carol approaching Nick, who was getting his books out of his locker. He saw Carol & couldn't help but give a small smile. Carol smiles back & gives him a kiss on the cheek.
Babs: Whoahohoho! Didn't see that coming!
Harleen: Seems like Carol's got a new flame!
Jessica: Awww, that's so sweet! Hal, now you don't have to worry-
Jessica turns to find Hal gone from the locker & sees him walking towards Carol & Nick.
Carol: Ready for class?
Nick: As ready as I'll ever be.
Hal: Ahem!
The Two turn to see Hal with his arms crossed.
Hal: Uhh, what's going here?
Carol: Oh, me & my new boyfriend Nick are going to chemistry class.
Hal: Phht! Yeah right, I know what you're trying to do Carol & it's alright. I'm really sorry for what I said, I was in the heat of the moment of... you know. So there's no reason to play pretend date with this guy because I decided (confident pose & smile) to take you back!
The students all gasped. Some were expecting Carol to just leap into Hal's arms but instead Carol started to chuckle slowly until it builds up into a loud laugh.
Carol: Hahahaha! Oh oh that's rich, phew... Why would I take you back? And No, I'm not pretending again to get you back, I got a new boyfriend now.
Hal: Wait, what? No, you can't be. Last time you did this it was a part of your plan to lure me in! (to Nick) Dude, seriously, she's just using you to get back with me. She'll break your heart.
Nick: (blunt) Like you broke hers repeatedly?
Hal: Look, listen-
Carol: (frowns) No, you listen. You said you what you needed to say Hal, "I'm not nor will I ever be the girl you love, that I'm a creepy stalker & a repulsive, unlovable monster", am I right?
Hal gulps, wincing a bit.
Carol: Your words didn't just hurt me again, It broke me. And it opened my eyes, you are a good person Hal but when it comes to relationships... You don't care, you look at other girls while we dated, you neglect me, you focus only on your looks, sports & spending more time with your (mocks his voice) "Bros" than me. And it's not just that, you were right Hal.
Hal: I'm... right?
Carol: Yeah, you, Jessica and everyone was right. I was living in a false fantasy world, stalking you, creeping on you, attacking any girl near you so you would only love me! I was obsessed with you & kept denying what everyone's telling me, well not anymore.
Hal: What are you saying?
Carol: I'm saying that I'm done wasting my time chasing after you, Hal Jordan. That I moved on to find someone else worthy of my love, who I can be happy with.
Carol hugs Nick's left arm in a loving manner.
Hal: Him? What's he got that I don't got?!
Babs: Brains? Works well with machines & tech?
Harleen: Comes from a rich family?
Carol: Besides that, he cared about me. He spends days to weeks to (whispers to the four only) cure me of my mutation (normal voice) and where were you? Did you even try to help or look for me?
Hal: I uh well... you see...
Carol: Exactly.
Hal: But Carol, he's a geek!
Nick: (sarcastic) Oh Wow... That card, I must very be offended.
Carol: Well He's my geek! Plus, does he look like a greasy geek?!
Babs: Nope.
Harleen: Not really, he does look handsome.
Babs: Harleen!
Harleen: What? Just callin' it like I see it Babsy Boodle.
Nick: (grumbles) I'm not that handsome.
Harleen: Ya kiddin' right? You're good lookin'!
