Monday morning, 6:46 am.
Haerin fix her glasses and walk into her classroom, she was trying to remember if there was a test in chemistry class later, Danielle's presence last weekend made her grumpy all day, Hyein had asked her to go on Sunday to buy groceries.
Haerin refused because surely Danielle was with her. When they left, Haerin left the room and looked for food, there was nothing. She was too lazy to go out so she ordered food, when her order came Hyein and Danielle were back, damn it, so fast.
Hyein and Danielle only did a little shopping at the convenience store near their house, Haerin decided to stay in the room until they finished cooking and eating. Hyein knew Haerin ordered food, but she didn't want to take it to Haerin's room, she invited Danielle to eat what Haerin ordered, the nice girl of course refused because she felt bad for Haerin.
In the end, Haerin only ate the leftovers from her food, her OWN FOOD, Hyein is a total jerk.
Haerin collided with someone at the doorway of her classroom.
"Hey! Watch your..."
"Sorry I didn't see..."
The two stared, Minji's gaze turning into hatred.
"What's the vice president doing here?"
Minji immediately positioned herself right in front of Haerin, "You should apologize to Hanni." she hissed.
Haerin stared at Minji, the corner of her lips raised, "Should I?"
"She woke up early and was excited to make you lunch! How can you just throw it away?"
By that time other students had started to arrive and the scene between the troubled student and the student council vice president was enough to draw a crowd.
Haerin ran a hand through her hair and glared at Minji, "You two are stupid and annoying, just pick up that lunch from the trash and eat it together if you adore it so much."
Minji slapped Haerin's face and pulled her collar, "How dare you say that?", Haerin stared at Minji, her eyes were filled with hatred and disgust as well, "Why not? I'm sick of being looked at by her puppy dog eyes begging for love."
Hearing that Minji immediately forgot her position, forgot that she is the vice chairman of the student council, forgot that her parents were one of their school's biggest shareholders, all she knew was that she had to beat Haerin to a pulp.
Minji pushed Haerin against the classroom wall with all her hatred, Haerin felt like her entire spine was breaking, she was athletic and could lift some heavy objects easily, but Minji is a judo blue belt who is used to slamming people, their strength differs in several levels.
Haerin held Minji's hands and head-butted the student council vice president in the face. The crowd of students grew and in no time the hallway in front of their class was already full.
Danielle who heard an unusual commotion outside her classroom closed the book she was reading and stood up, she half ran out of the classroom and joined the crowd of students watching from the window.
Her eyes widened when she saw Haerin and Minji fist fighting, both of their faces were battered. Danielle pushed the students who were crowding at the classroom door, "MOVE!!" she shouted, she has to separate them, where are Hyein and Hanni?
Haerin was lying on the floor, her face and lips were full of cuts and bruises, Minji immediately sat on her and raised her fist, ready to finish Haerin. A hand gripped her wrist tightly, Minji looked up angrily, her homeroom teacher who was also the head of the judo club, Miss Yoo Jeongyeon, looked at her seriously, "Enough Minji" she said.
Danielle pushed one of the male students in the front row and approached Haerin, Hyein had just managed to break into the front row of the students watching, her eyes bulging at Haerin's condition, "Oh my, mom and dad will definitely go ballistic, she's doomed."
Ms. Yoo stared at Haerin for a moment then looked at Danielle, "Take her to the clinic." she said and walk Minji to the teacher room. Danielle looked at Haerin worriedly "Can you stand?" she asked softly, Haerin tried to sit up while Miss Kang, their homeroom teacher dispersed the crowd.
Haerin was stunned, the quiet Kim Minji got her beaten up over a lunch box, that jerk must really love Hanni.
"Haerin?" called Danielle again, Haerin looked, ah yes there is still this annoying person."Help me stand Hyein." Haerin said. Hyein shrugged her shoulders, "I have to go to class, after all Ms. Yoo told Danielle, not me, to help you." she said as she walked into their classroom. Haerin growled angrily, her lips were too painful to yell.
Danielle tried to help Haerin stand up, Haerin slapped the girl's hand, "Don't touch me."
Danielle was silent, she squeezed her finger while watching Haerin who was struggling to stand up. She then walked behind Haerin who was stumbling toward the clinic.
They were greeted by nurse Sana, "Oh my, look at your condition, let's quickly treat that wound, look at that, such a deep wound." Sana chirped with her signature voice, Haerin felt even more dizzy at this time, who hired this noisy anime?
Sana injected some kind of liquid into several spots on Haerin's face after cleaning it with alcohol, "This is for anti-inflammation, so that your face doesn't swell up like a balloon." she laughed, Haerin really hated that laughing voice. "Thank you nurse Minatozaki." Danielle smiled.
Sana's cell phone vibrated, she immediately checked it, she then brought some cotton and medicine, then gave it to Danielle, the Australian girl took it with a confused face. "The principal called me and told me to treat Minji, could you please treat her first, apply this on her wound."
Haerin snorted mockingly at the mention of Minji's name, Sana glanced at her, "You can't go out until your wound is treated, and Ms. Yoo insists Danielle should take care of you, if you're still stubborn she'll call your parents tomorrow morning." Sana smiled sweetly, "Now I'll go, you guys better not cause any more trouble." she shouted as she ran out of the clinic.
Danielle held the cotton in her hands awkwardly, she looked at Haerin and started applying medicine to the cotton.
"Please hold on, I know this is going to hurt a lot." Danielle said while gently rubbing the medical cotton into the wound at the corner of Haerin's lips.
Haerin didn't say anything, Danielle moved to Haerin's lips and chin, carefully applying medicine on her bruises and cuts. Danielle applied the medicine to the new cotton and moved it to the bruise on Haerin's cheekbone which was very purplish in color.
Danielle wiped the remaining dried blood from Haerin's nose slowly, her eyes accidentally looked into Haerin's eyes, the girl was staring at her with her cat eyes.
Danielle turned her face away, she felt embarrassed and uncomfortable, "I think that's all." she said. Haerin walked towards the door of the clinic, "Does anything else hurt?" asked Danielle, Haerin stopped and faced Danielle, her back that was hit by the wall was actually very painful.
"No..."
"Take off your shirt Haerin." They both looked up startled.
Ms. Yoo stood leaning against the side of the door, "No." Haerin said stubbornly.
The head of the Judo club approached Haerin, "Is it you, or me who will do it?" she asked coldly, Haerin glared at the teacher angrily, her hands moved to unbutton her shirt, Danielle turned her head away. "Your undershirt too." said Ms. Yoo, Haerin's face turned red with embarrassment and anger.
Haerin opened her undershirt, Ms. Yoo walked towards her back, there were a lot of bruises there, Ms. Yoo walked back in front of Haerin, "You and Minji are suspended for a week, Ms. Kang will give you a letter of notification later, Minji's parents will be called to discuss whether Minji remains the vice president of student council or not considering that this morning's incident spread quickly throughout the school, this is a very serious matter." Danielle gasped at the teacher's words.
"The principal called your parents to come over Wednesday morning." Ms. Yoo looked at Haerin, "You are a smart kid Haerin, if there is something you want to talk about, me or Ms. Kang are available anytime." Ms. Yoo looked at Danielle, "Please treat her back.", Danielle nodded quickly, Ms. Yoo walked out of the clinic room.
Haerin gripped her undershirt tightly, she clenched her teeth. Danielle took a new cotton and applied the medicine, she started rubbing the cotton on Haerin's back.
No one spoke, Danielle felt very suffocated by the silence, only the sound of the air conditioner and the ticking of the wall clock could be heard.
There was the sound of the door opening, and Sana came in while humming, "Oh what's going on? Why is it so quiet here?".
She then rushed to Haerin and checked her back, "Gosh, what's wrong with your back? It looks like it's been trampled by an elephant." Danielle would have laughed if they were in a normal situation, but she was too worried right now, especially after what Ms. Yoo had said.
Haerin put on her undershirt and buttoned her uniform when Sana finished taking care of her back, she then walked out without saying anything.
"Just walked out without saying anything? Not even a thank you? Little brat" Sana puckered her lips. Danielle bowed to Sana, "Ms. Minatozaki, thank you very much for helping us."
Sana giggled and pinched Danielle's cheeks, "You're a good student, go back to your class."
Danielle smiled and walked out of the clinic.
